Though I do think the full version can be found somewhere on UA-cam.
I feel confident in saying that Mr Satan is the character that threw the least when it mattered. He always did his best to contribute with whatever cards life dealt him. I'm pretty sure if he was ever given Z warrior level of strenght, he would easily be tied with Piccolo as the "most reliable" fighter.
I mean, he did stop Buu. Delaying Buu the way he did by befriending him, surviving the extinction attack because of that friendship, and then convincing the world to give the energy it took to put down Kid Buu. If he weren't there Buu would have won at so many steps.
@@najadamu2724 To be honest, it's hard to even call them asshole gunmen letting it sink in how much Buu actually did to the world at large. They might even have become assholes because of Buu or might be looking for a path to redemption through taking down Buu.
"I hope none of you relate to being a genocidal space pirate!" You'd be surprised how many people worship pre-Buu saga Vegeta. He didn't grow on me until Super.
I think it's less being able to relate and more just being entertained by Vegeta. Like he's a prideful to a fault, arrogant, rude, and has a staggeringly high body count, but damn if he doesn't say and do the coolest shit, lol.
There is nothing wrong with being a genocidal space pirate, pirates and genocide are bad but space is good, soo good that it makes the concept good as a whole.
Mark turning Majin Buu into good being inadvertently saved the Earth in the Moro Arc. Without the Great Lord of Lords appearing to Uub to give Goku the God energy, the planet eater would have won.
Since I was a kid has always touched me deeply how a so small character, in the moment of needs, was the one that has really made the difference. Thanks Mr Satan... thanks world champion ❤
Remember he shows bravery in Super as well, in the anime he steps up to join the TOP, albeit he forgets he’s not that strong by comparison. For a split second he does genuinely seems to want to join before Goku tells him it’s a battle of the strongest.
because compared to everyone around him, who can fly and throw ki blasts, Satan is just THE most human-like. he can't fly, he can't ki blast, he can't teleport. he is just a man. and that makes it most relatable
I will always love Mr Satan, his English voice is just iconic. Whenever a create a character option is available in any sort of fighting game, he is always my go to. Mark “Hercule” Satan is the embodiment of modern day wrestling.
I think everyone's forgetting the fact that he single-handedly stopped an ancient monster from killing all of humanity when others belived that killing it was the only option
@@bld-11 oh yeah? any proof denouncing the champ? because there’s no way some preteen with daddy issues and a blonde hill billy could have beaten cell. also, he asked us for our energy!! obviously he beat them.
Thank you to the team at Carthus’ Dojo for posting this video today! I was just told that I have a non cancerous brain tumor which I did surgery for yesterday. This video has really brightened my day!
There was one more part of the Buu finale that sticks with me, and it was probably only in the anime, but when they realize that Kid Buu is pushing back against the Spirit Bomb and that it's still too weak, Vegeta tries to demand Mr. Satan demand more energy from the people of Earth, even though they gave as much as they could, and any more and they would start dying. Mr. Satan outright refuses to do this, the trick the people who put their faith into him into throwing their lives away, and I just remember it showing that he has a deep sense of respect towards his fans, he couldn't do something so evil.
@@bld-11 didn't buu get erased from everyones minds and mr satan saved vegeta and got goku the energy for the spirit bomb is he didn't just do nothing there.
Yes. And him coming to terms that what he witnessed wasn't light shows and tricks. These are fellas that are able to weaponize their life energy to make those various blasts and techniques and have planetary-level and beyond power output and endurance as well.
Yeah, and his reputation and status is actually a big help for Guko and the rest, he can redirect people's attention to him while Guko and others can have low profile and hide from the public eyes. In exchange, Mr. Satan is protected especially because of his unity to Guko through his daughter's marriage to Gohan.
This video highlights why Mr. Satan is one of my favorite characters. He isn’t strong like Goku and Vegeta, but he’s just as much of a hero as they are. He has flaws, but at heart he is a good guy that cares for his daughter and the people around him. While I have some issues with the Buu Arc, I loved seeing Hercule get closer to Buu and the dog, as well as him helping save the day at the end. He isn’t perfect (Only Cell is /j), but he isn’t a bad person. He may not have Ki control, but he’s a promising Martial Artist if he won the 24th Tenkaichi Budokai fair and square. He may be overconfident, but he’s willing to swallow his pride if it means saving the day. I just hope future chapters of the DBS Manga keep the charm of the character.
Mr Satan just does the first thing that comes to his mind and that's why he's such a great character. not only does he have a massive ego and is way to confident in his abilities but hes also the first to make a decision no matter how risky to him that decision is.
There was also the time when kid buu was going to kill an injured good buu and Mr Satan taunted kid buu into a fight to pull his attention away from good buu. Mr Satan reasoned he would likely die as he built up the courage to do so but said “Fine. So be it.” in the dub.
In the battle of the Strongest Man in History (Monaka) vs the Strongest Man of Today (Mr Satan) Satan used his Domain "Ryoiki Tenkai, Infinite luck" Monaka shrunk back in fear, then Satan said "Stand Proud Monaka, you're strong"
This video reminded us how important Hercule was, but we just choose to forget it. Both of the penultimate enemies of Dragonball Z, would have been unstoppable without the few small actions made by Hercule. I never thought he was weak, but did underestimate how useful he was to the Z-Fighters. He deserves his title aa the Champion of Earth... especially since the only stronger opponents are aliens 😂.
AFAIK his name is Mark, because in japanese that would be written Maaku, anagram for Akuma meaning, i think it was, Devil. To keep the theme name with his daughter (Also an anagram for Devil, but in english this time)... and i kinda like that.
I like how pan also keeps in line with the naming scheme a bit, being a pun in two ways, with pan meaning bread in some languages sticking with how a lot of dragon ball characters are named after food, but pan is also the name of a character in Greek mythology who was a bit of a trickster and trouble maker.
I don't care if it's canon or not, I just want to share my favourite piece of Mr. Satan lore. In the Dragon Ball Online timeline, Mr. Satan passed away at Age 820. In that same year, the remnants of the Frieza Force invaded Earth again upon hearing about Mr. Satan's death, believing he was the strongest man on Earth. That means him bluffing to the world about defeating Cell and Buu actually saved Earth for more than 40 years.
This video is a HUGE W and honestly my respect for Mr. Satan has grown thanks to this video. Now that i think about it, him and Usopp are actually pretty similar.
That was amazing. It is quite interesting that how a cowardly champion wannabe went through his redemption arc in Dragon Ball. I wonder how other characters were. Also, I had a what-if idea: Beerus NEVER went to sleep in 39 years.
WI Beerus knew of Goku and his future friends' (not time travel) potential and Zeno's future decision of erasing low mortal-level universes; and decided to have them trained earlier?
That's actually one of the things I like about early Super: the Z-Fighters use Mr. Satan as a cover so they can live relatively peaceful lives, Mr. Satan gives Goku the reward money for the heroics he takes credit for, and his credibility with the world gets people to evacuate from dangerous situations so the Z-Fighters can fight without worry.
seeing a character be a lot weaker than everyone around them just hits different in every story writting. mr satan is epic! wish they would do more with him in the series.
I like to think an honest autobiography of Mr Satan would look like some lovecraftian novel full of beings too powerfull to be understood, shattered reality and apocalyptic situations getting mundane...
Awesome video man, end the Hercule slander! I’d love to see a similar style video for High-school Gohan/Great Saiyaman, considering much like Hercule, he gets so much flack despite actually being some of my favorite character writing in Dragon Ball Z. Gohan finally gets to be a kid, and manifests it by playing superhero. It’s honestly pretty great, imo.
My favorite Mr Satan moment is in GT when everyone is trying to restore Goku's strength when fighting against Great Ape Baby but after Baby attacks everyone Mr Satan thinks Pan died and he gets ready to fight Baby himself not caring if he lives or dies before it's revealed that everyone obviously lived. To me, it shows how Mr Satan went from fighting a powerful enemy because of his arrogance to not fighting anyone powerful at all because of fear, and finally, to standing up against foes who completely outclass him out of bravery. Even if we didn't get to see a punch thrown, I believe Mr Satan would've tried to fight against Baby, and I respect the hell out of him for it!
Hercule: A fraud. Also Hercule: Can punch through solid steel and move so fast he leaves an afterimage. The thing I hate the most about Dragonball is how he still got hit by the bullet when he left a freaking afterimage. It was so hype to see him disappear like that. Like seeing a jobber in WWE land his finisher for once.
I have opinions about Super but I love Satan as a permanent homie to the series. Guy's rich as hell yet also offers the award money to Goku later on claiming HE deserved it and not himself
Mr Satan is no human, he is a deity from some other Universe...come to think of it, we never got a Mr Satan origin story The truth is, he is secretly keeping an eye on the Z warriors, and instead of finishing the fights himself, he pushes the main caste to do so, while he keeps acting like an idiot... He is doing it to create the "Strongest Pure-hearted warrior"...and one day he'll reveal his true self...that day we would witness the legendary battle between Satan and Goku
@@LegendaryCaptain hmm 🤔 this is something to think about That farmer was shot by a bullet, the bullet squashed on his head, but it didn't penetrate his head... Man is secretly a powerhouse as well
I like the super sonic worrier story where after beating everyone else mr satan decides he going to fight buu to protect the rest of universe even thaw he nows he stands no chance and this act of selflessness couse the buu to split between his good and evil side again
Mr. Satan was also instrumental in DragonBall GT. He, with the help of Good Buu, saved Pan from Baby as the parasite infected Earth. And she later helped Goku come back to his senses.
I do love how Buu was so influenced by Buu that he literally shot out his evil so he wouldn't rampage. And that the first thing the evil Buu did was kill the people who hurt Mr. Satan and the puppy.
3:01 And in DragonBall Super: He does an improved version of that move to eliminate Toppo in the Torunament of Power which his body was now tough enough to withstand.
That being said, he could pull THREE tour busses and rip those phone books in half. Something that Mythbusters had TANKS* trying to do and couldnt. (Its been awhile since i watched the episode so i dont remember it it went exactly so dont take it at face value)
I want to thank you for this video in particular. I love all your videos but this one was made especially for a character most people would throw away or brush off as filler. My best friend, brother, and I were pissed when Goku saved “Hurcle” (lol )and Dende. We all felt Vageta words to be true. Boy how wrong were we all! A poor writer would have introduced a character like this as filler just to annoy the people. But a great writer introduces characters to push the story further and with an amazing payoff towards the end. That’s exactly what we all got from Mr. Satan throughout his journey.
10:45 in the spanish translation of the manga (and maybe the anime too i don't remember), goku calls mr. satan "the saviour of the universe", which is so hype

I would to see mark turn in to Mr super Satan
Ironically Mr Satan was the closest to actually stopping Buu
Technically he did
I mean, he did stop Buu. Delaying Buu the way he did by befriending him, surviving the extinction attack because of that friendship, and then convincing the world to give the energy it took to put down Kid Buu. If he weren't there Buu would have won at so many steps.
Temporarily, he did. Fat Boo was basically reformed until those two asshole gunmen came along and caused the birth of Evil Boo.
@@najadamu2724 then he did save the world by convincing people to raise their hands for the spirit bomb
@@najadamu2724 To be honest, it's hard to even call them asshole gunmen letting it sink in how much Buu actually did to the world at large. They might even have become assholes because of Buu or might be looking for a path to redemption through taking down Buu.

There is nothing wrong with being a genocidal space pirate, pirates and genocide are bad but space is good, soo good that it makes the concept good as a whole.

Because he's just HIM
because compared to everyone around him, who can fly and throw ki blasts, Satan is just THE most human-like. he can't fly, he can't ki blast, he can't teleport. he is just a man. and that makes it most relatable
I will always love Mr Satan, his English voice is just iconic.

Yeah, and his reputation and status is actually a big help for Guko and the rest, he can redirect people's attention to him while Guko and others can have low profile and hide from the public eyes. In exchange, Mr. Satan is protected especially because of his unity to Guko through his daughter's marriage to Gohan.
the embodiment of " fake it till you make it " in the anime
10:46 *dies of peak fiction*
Mr Satan just does the first thing that comes to his mind and that's why he's such a great character. not only does he have a massive ego and is way to confident in his abilities but hes also the first to make a decision no matter how risky to him that decision is.

There was also the time when kid buu was going to kill an injured good buu and Mr Satan taunted kid buu into a fight to pull his attention away from good buu. Mr Satan reasoned he would likely die as he built up the courage to do so but said “Fine. So be it.” in the dub.

I don't know about you, but I definitely would not give medical aid to someone trying to kill me.
Hercule basically did this “what if villain turned good?” scenario IRL… and it worked!
seeing a character be a lot weaker than everyone around them just hits different in every story writting. mr satan is epic! wish they would do more with him in the series.
I like to think an honest autobiography of Mr Satan would look like some lovecraftian novel full of beings too powerfull to be understood, shattered reality and apocalyptic situations getting mundane...
This is why I love your channel Carthu! You always hit the nail right on the head, seeing a lot of deep meaning that many do not pick up on. :)

Hercule isn't the hero we wanted,
But the hero we needed.
A fraud that became a legitimate hero through indirect means.
And then he paid Goku a buttload of money for his services in saving the world.
