@@CarthusDojo 😂💀 it really does. Beyond the forms and increase in strength, I really don't understand how it's that unique. Ultra Instinct seems to be different and handled better. But that if you didn't have God ki, that you literally couldn't hurt him?
if we take into account the history of Shallot and Giblet, they are descendants of the Original Super Saiyan God, which is not Yamoshi as most think. Because I say this, simple: Akira himself in the 2018 interview said that Yamoshi was cornered by the Evil Saiyans and there he became the First Super Saiyan, but he was outnumbered and he and his 5 colleagues died (here begins the Legend of the Super Saiyan). After his death, Yamoshi's spirit (he's already dead remember) was wandering around looking for other pure-hearted Saiyans who needed a savior. Here the story of Shallot comes into play, since Giblet mentions that they are both descendants of the Original Super Saiyan God who, like yamoshi, lost his transformation (just like Goku against Beerus fighting in the underground cave) and died at the hands of the evil saiyans, being eliminated said savior. Besides, in the Broly movie (2018) Kikono informs Frieza that they were looking for both the Super Saiyan and the Super Saiyan God, implying that there was one that started with the Legend of the SsG. In conclusion, Yamoshi lent his spirit to one of the six good Saiyans that has Shallot and Giblet as descendants, but he is not the Super Saiyan God as such, he only intervened in the ritual.
The God of Destruction Beerus took information about the spirit of Yamoshi, the original Super Saiyan in a prophetic dream, and thus learned about the Super Saiyan God, which would end up causing the events of Battle of Gods.
@@byjonasan757suprisingly yamcha triggers beerus. Pinpoint the location of the android. I think he was a saiyan reincarnated because he use his power to attract saiyan girls. The saiyan began to curl their tail because of that. Punished by god because his behaviour.

The saiyans curled their tail to prevent the transformation. He is the one who survive others separate to other timeline. He was punished by enma by his action. He must endure the humiliation.
Would LOVE a Yamoshi special. More Saiyan lore is always good (further show the irony of true saiyan power requiring pure heart/empathy but saiyans turn their back on it)
Super Saiyan God definitely should have gotten a whole lot more screen time, seeing as how it's the very same form that started it all for Dragon Ball Super. Super Saiyan Blue had been portrayed very horribly ever since the Dragon Ball Super anime.
1:51 I like to think the power faded because the Saiyan started becoming more egoistic/evil, a complete opposite of the pure hearted requirement of the ritual
one thing i find fascinating about super saiyan blue is that it is just god stacked with SS. theoretically you can stack SS2 and 3 onto it as well, probably even great ape.
I’ve always theorized that Super Saiyan God was shafted for Super Saiyan in the movie because it was the first Dragon Ball content from Toriyama himself in over a decade and to get as many people in the theater as possible, the poster needed to show Beerus vs Super Saiyan Goku since it’s his most recognizable form.
Great video, Carthu! Btw, I'd love to see your take on SSJ3 vs SSG. I.e. , when Kale and Caulifla saw ssj3 in the TOP, their reaction made it seem like ssj3 was stronger than some of Goku's other forms. Even the fact the Goku powered down from it and went into SSG afterwards had some implications. Would love to hear your thoughts on it
Yeah I'm very VERY confused by that statement. I'd never actually heard anyone saying they hated it? And it was a pretty fun movie? Woulda been nice if he explained why he disliked it
@@BurningBridgeStudios Apparently lots of people hate it and I still don't get why, unless it's just about how Whis casually mentioning he can reverse time took away the tension? Okay? I still thought it was fun. If there's anything to complain about it's how Goku robbed Vegeta of killing Freeza lol. But yeah, I liked it too.
@@SilverScizor753One explanation I've heard is how rushed the power scaling went. The previous movie, SS God is introduced. Then if I recall iit gets little to no screentime this movie and jumps straight to SSGSS. Which the name alone is bad, lol. It just... Does janky shit to power scaling and pacing for the sake of showing off a new form, whereas they could have toned down the scaling (Frieza's training proving to match SS God, and SSGSS unveiled near the end of the fight when Frieza goes golden. Or something) and not just jump the shark to Blue.
@@SilverScizor753 personally its probably one of my least favorite DB movies. If I could explain in some simple bullet points >Gohan is at his weakest and most pathetic point (somehow his fighting power at its highest degenerated faster than previously in the buu arc) >wonky powerscaling overall (pretty much everyone below goku/vegeta are just varying levels of foder) >new forms are boring (ssjb in the manga is atleast interesting but here its just a generic powerup that comes out of nowhere, has a stupid name, and immediately just makes the previous form irrelevant. Golden Frieza also isn't very interesting.) >Goku is extra stupid (hard to explain briefly but Goku seems extremely lax towards Frieza whose first thought upon getting revived for the second time was to immediately kill him and everyone he knows. Also him nearly dying to a ring pop laser just to fulfill some foreshadowing earlier that never goes into any form of character development) >Extremely weak ending (Whis reversing time basically makes Goku not have to actually deal with his failure to beat Frieza and removes all tension.) Best part of the movie is probably the soundtrack, the animation is good but nothing to write home about, choreography is alright, but the writing feels jerky. Like Toriyama wanted a very specific set of events to happen and the plot makes these sudden turns to compensate for that. Overall kinda mid and doesnt do anything new or interesting.
@@doodguytheblank2403 Thank you for explaining, the points definitely make sense. And I definitely agree with the powerscaling and new forms. I just recently started reading the Super manga and I like what they did with Super Saiyans God and Blue compared to the anime. Off screening the acquisition of a new powerup was certainly a choice.
The idea that Yamoshi is the voice Goku heard while in Ritual God is actually one of the coolest concepts in Dragon Ball. I wish they did more with that idea.
The abandoned, forgotten, epic but not legendary, form that got finally back in ToP and only got highlighted in manga is now finally getting the spotlight of its own The one only SSG !🤘🔥🔥 Edit : How I think the story could have been worked like: In the Rof, goku wouldn't have unlocked ssb and Ssg goku and ssg vegeta could have fought freiza and could have together as a team and beat him (and vegeta could still have the spotlight once he unlocked ssg in the battle) then , at u6 tournament goku could have unlocked ssb and then ssbkk at zamasu and the rest could have been same. By this ssg could have gotten a lot time and attention
I really wished that the ritual Super Saiyan God was it's own thing in the anime, so we could see it as a new "ace card" for when things get bad that isn't simply fusion. Alternatively, it would've simply been better if God was unachievable on your own and thus Blue was just Goku tapping into the absorbed God Ki through a new transformation. That way both God and Blue remain very special forms
If the Saiyans were so evil that they were considered "Demons", what about Frieza and Kid Buu's victims? They all went to the afterlife and were even resurrected lol I feel like Toriyama never should've wrote that concept considering in the very same arc later we find out Piccolo was just an alien and not a "demon" lol
Yeah Toriyama retconned that whole idea of Piccolo being a demon when he made Dragon Ball Z. but that doesn't stop him from using some ideas from DB even the already retconned or thrown away ones. Look at Broly's Ikari form. Great Ape power in base? Goku did that back in original Dragon Ball but Toriyama dropped that concept and brought it back with Broly
He still ran out of stamina. Remember when Gohan first became a Super Saiyan? He couldn't stay in the form very long at all and was likely far stronger than Yamoshi. It definitely puts a strain on the user.
I remember seeing Super Saiyan God for the first time and thinking it was such a nice and refreshing change that the power came from a ritual of other Saiyans channeling their power into a legendary savior rather than from an emotional trigger or some sort of training, and the fact that it was more slender and didn't spike up Goku's hair like a traditional Super Saiyan gave me that initial thought that Super Saiyan God was less about boosting Goku's raw power and turning him into a rage-filled killing machine, and more about taking his already existing qualities and amplifying them passively through the combined wisdom and energy of the ritual participants and gave it more of a wise, spiritual edge that separated it from the more barbaric, violent forms (especially 3 with the thicker brow that evoked more of an Unga Bunga vibe). It was a nice touch that the ritual didn't really seem to override Goku's personality either, other than just making him a bit more level-headed and practical. Pretty underwhelming that Blue just kind of dropped itself in and took over the reins damn near instantly after God's introduction. Once I saw that God was thrown in the bin to make room for Blue and that we were about to start making rainbows with the different hair colors, the concept of any further Super forms just completely lost their suspense and value to me. Damn shame that such a vibrant, thoughtful design (with some pretty interesting lore implications) got thrown out so that "it make muh hair blue and make me fight good so i calls it super saiyan blue lmao" could hog the spotlight.
“I hope forms keep affecting fighting styles going forward” yeah, that aged like fine wine (UE and UI both completely overhaul the way a fighter fights)
I wish they hadn't introduced Blue until the Black arc or instead made it a separate transformation for Vegeta alone. If they'd done the former, Black would've been the one to show it first and in the process show that there's something stronger than SSJG as that would've essentially been something like his base form, being a god himself in a saiyan body. But he's still weaker than Goku and Vegeta as SSJGs, making his break into Rose something incredibly powerful and dangerous but also giving Goku and Vegeta a hint that maybe they could do it too. It would make Vegeta showing up later and going Blue then completely demolishing Rose a fitting situation, forcing Fused Zamasu to exist and it plays out as we know it. If the latter, Vegeta could earn it through training and Blue could be the first diversion in power and techniques they get. Blue being something that vegeta could hold over Goku because he earned it through instruction and training whereas god was something Goku got via a ritual. Especially since we know Goku doesn't like that. But if its power was on par with SSJG, picture say the ResF arc where it's SSJG vs Golden Freeza, the power differences are the same, but when Vegeta steps up we all think "omg did he get God too?!" then he turns blue and has this unique look and we'd all be going "WHAT THE F*CK?!" Course then there was the whole thing about Blue being "more efficient" and "less efficient" etc etc. Especially since the manga went back and forth on it. First Blue is extremely efficient with ki control, but the transformation itself is where things are lost so doing it twice in a row would make you weaker than just a base super saiyan (said by whis in the manga as vegeta fought Hit) then suddenly later Blue is a big stamina drain as a whole which was completely at odds with everything including the Res F fight because Blue's advantage was better stamina control over Freeza's AAAAGH. I love SSJG but they really dropped it too soon.
I like how who Beerus saw in the silhouette was left kinda vague, sort of leaving us wondering, is this Goku or is it someone else? Maybe it is Yamoshi that Beerus saw and he just so happened to look a little like Goku.
I remember when SSG was introduced I didn’t like it. I thought it was lazy and just looked like kaioken. But after doing more research it’s now my favorite form. I like how it’s not about the muscles but the ki control that equals strength. The fiery aura that comes with it. The form is so cool but maybe it’s a good thing it was dropped fast because it was only a matter of time before SSG would have been humiliated
i thought when i started watching this, i know everything already. Good thing watched the video because there were still things i didn't know. Great video
Even though Super Saiyan God had the potential to explore upon. It really need an arc or maybe short comic special about Yamoshi leading up to obtaining Super Saiyan God🤔
Seriously, ssjg is way better than ssjb (mainly for is minimal ki drain and its sadly forgotten about regeneration ability) just wish goku and vegeta used it more in the anime. Sadly it will be forgotten just like ssj2 and kaioken in base form. I would like to see a situation where goku uses kaioken on top of ssjg, as this would slightly negate the damage kaioken does to the user.
The way you are explaining it is much better than the way I believe it actually is. Your version is thought out and detailed and would have great story tie-ins. I believe the writers are much too lazy to use It the way you described it.
Definitely my favorite form really good it was different and refreshing sad it got sidelined but it is nice to see that the community still likes the form
love how carthu rags on his comments section about yamoshi not be being the original ssg but acknowledges it's a "retcon" that never explicitly states whether it did or didn't actually change anything
@@kazeguy8869 not really, just because shenron doesn't say it was yamoshi in the anime/manga doesn't mean he was or wasn't one could just as easily that because it was never specific that it wasn't yamoshi that it is still him, like seriously carthu just went with the vague is or isn't situation so because he believes the "isn't" doesn't make him right
@@kazeguy8869 idk if you understand my original comment, carthu says it's a retcon because the ritual was left vague, as it it never specified if the manga/anime changed anything "the original statement changed into vague doesn't make the original statement less the case" he just took that and ran with it as retcon when it really isn't

Super Saiyan God is my favourite transformation, thanks for making this video!
Glad you enjoyed!
1:55 you said the same thing about super saiyan video about the legendary super saiyan
if we take into account the history of Shallot and Giblet, they are descendants of the Original Super Saiyan God, which is not Yamoshi as most think.
If you combined it with Cumber's lore, it's possible there is a Super Saiyan God before Goku.

In line with those thoughts, what is ssb evolution. Is it ssj2stacked?

Would love to hear your thoughts on it
That probably has to do with the difference of god ki and normal ki.
With ssj3 they could feel how strong it is
With all the retcons done ssg actually turned out pretty damn cool
Love the vids❤

"Resurrection F is bad, but im sure you don't need me to tell you that."
I....I liked it.
If I could explain in some simple bullet points
>Gohan is at his weakest and most pathetic point (somehow his fighting power at its highest degenerated faster than previously in the buu arc)
>wonky powerscaling overall (pretty much everyone below goku/vegeta are just varying levels of foder)
>new forms are boring (ssjb in the manga is atleast interesting but here its just a generic powerup that comes out of nowhere, has a stupid name, and immediately just makes the previous form irrelevant. Golden Frieza also isn't very interesting.)
>Goku is extra stupid (hard to explain briefly but Goku seems extremely lax towards Frieza whose first thought upon getting revived for the second time was to immediately kill him and everyone he knows. Also him nearly dying to a ring pop laser just to fulfill some foreshadowing earlier that never goes into any form of character development)
>Extremely weak ending (Whis reversing time basically makes Goku not have to actually deal with his failure to beat Frieza and removes all tension.)
Best part of the movie is probably the soundtrack, the animation is good but nothing to write home about, choreography is alright, but the writing feels jerky.
8:05 Yes, flight has an aura to protect their bodies from stuff in the air, like bugs, birds, dust, etc. So they can fly without issues ;)
That makes sense
@@Leo-the_cat-and_blai You can literally see it glowing around them if you check it :D
I still like SSGSS more, but im happy to know that Ssg has some good history behind it. 😂😂
The idea that Yamoshi is the voice Goku heard while in Ritual God is actually one of the coolest concepts in Dragon Ball. I wish they did more with that idea.

The abandoned, forgotten, epic but not legendary, form that got finally back in ToP and only got highlighted in manga is now finally getting the spotlight of its own
The one only SSG !🤘🔥🔥
Edit : How I think the story could have been worked like:
In the Rof, goku wouldn't have unlocked ssb and Ssg goku and ssg vegeta could have fought freiza and could have together as a team and beat him (and vegeta could still have the spotlight once he unlocked ssg in the battle) then , at u6 tournament goku could have unlocked ssb and then ssbkk at zamasu and the rest could have been same.
By this ssg could have gotten a lot time and attention
It was used very well in the manga,You should check it out.
@Manoj-wg5zp until perfected ssb, which pretty much solved the stamina issue
Man I just love watching your videos
Basically a monke with god ki.
Wukong💀
Freeza, we know this is your alt account
THE GOAT HAS POSTED LETS GO!!!
SSJGod is my favorite transformation, and keep up the great work
the most frustrating thing is always when a new enemy comes along and can keep up in his baseform with our heroes highest forms thus far.
That makes more sense, but how did yamoshi lose the rebellion if he wasnt on the ssg time limit?
Ssg is my favourite form, i really love how unique it is. Closely followed by ultra instinct and og ss
“I hope forms keep affecting fighting styles going forward” yeah, that aged like fine wine (UE and UI both completely overhaul the way a fighter fights)
Great videos keep up the great work
7:50 I guess It could be retcon as being unstable. Like, the forms sometimes does and does not have an aura because they haven't mastered it yet
But if its power was on par with SSJG, picture say the ResF arc where it's SSJG vs Golden Freeza, the power differences are the same, but when Vegeta steps up we all think "omg did he get God too?!" then he turns blue and has this unique look and we'd all be going "WHAT THE F*CK?!"
Course then there was the whole thing about Blue being "more efficient" and "less efficient" etc etc.
My headcanon is that “Super Saiyan God” is actually just “Saiyan God” and Blue is “Super Saiyan God”. Just makes more sense
I like how who Beerus saw in the silhouette was left kinda vague, sort of leaving us wondering, is this Goku or is it someone else? Maybe it is Yamoshi that Beerus saw and he just so happened to look a little like Goku.
the saiyans that killed yamoshi that were so evil that they were classified as demons were probably evil saiyans like cumber from sdbh
I thought red and yellow made orange not blue💀
reverse lssj lol
Ikr. glad i’m not the only one who thought of that fact
The mistake is that it’s not combining SS with SSG, it’s that a SSG ASCENDS like how a Saiyan would into a SS.
TL;DR
SS + SSG ≠ SSB
SSG -> SSB
Great video about the super saiyan god transformation.
Thanks!
@@CarthusDojo you're welcome.
Bro really broke it down, I feel like i can become Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan with all this knowledge 😂
ITS SHALLOT
i thought when i started watching this, i know everything already. Good thing watched the video because there were still things i didn't know. Great video
Great video - I forgot the subtle differences between the movie and anime - not that there were some just what they were
Even though Super Saiyan God had the potential to explore upon. It really need an arc or maybe short comic special about Yamoshi leading up to obtaining Super Saiyan God🤔
SSJG's lore is weird and confusing, but it did kick off a new generation of Dragon Ball Fans that's for sure. 👍
i like that note of og super saiyan god being more defensive, it kinda makes it feel more like a tool in his kit and less like a win button
If Saiyans were to have some kind of deity, I think it would look like some wild monkey man... kinda like Super Saiyan 4
Remember this just a form with God Ki and God's in Dragon Ball (like Beerus and Whis) often are more slender while still powerful.
the weirdest part of it is that it was replaced by a D tier form
The way you are explaining it is much better than the way I believe it actually is. Your version is thought out and detailed and would have great story tie-ins. I believe the writers are much too lazy to use It the way you described it.
Definitely my favorite form really good it was different and refreshing sad it got sidelined but it is nice to see that the community still likes the form
love how carthu rags on his comments section about yamoshi not be being the original ssg but acknowledges it's a "retcon" that never explicitly states whether it did or didn't actually change anything
I mean it's pretty clear it does change things. I mean it is a retcon.
I actually prefer Goku not absorbing SSG into base tbh
I would love to see a one-off manga about Yamoshi and his story, like the one Minato manga that just released.
If it matches the tone of the DBZ specials about Trunks and Bardock, that'd really be something.
SSB is a form that should’ve never existed in the first place my god; like SSG was so perfect and would be POETIC cause GT had SSJ4 as it’s form and super COULD’VE had the same thing with SSG but nooooo SSB had to come in and FUCK IT UP ESPECIALLY THE LORE OF SSG.

Another thing that makes ssjblue even more useless and unecessary
Ssjgod is a calm, focused form, its not about muscle, its extreme power trought extreme control, something that normal ssj forms (1, 2,3 and 4) could never reach, it requires a calm mind
Guess what else requires a calm mind? Thats right, UI
