No wonder they chose to use Chiaotzu as the twist villain for that one Yamcha gag manga. Bro literally barely exists in the story and is only known for taking Ls.
@@solgerWhyIsThereAnAtItLooksBad No? He died multiple times trying to be a good guy Chiaotzu, and then decided to switch to villainy in hopes of, you know, not dying this time. Pretty normal cycle for a human trapped in a time loop.
Which makes Sparking Zero's What-Ifs surprisingly intriguing, because Chiaotzu gets one of the bigger increases to usefulness. Krillin gets a slight boost, as he proves instrumental in defeating Radditz and Vegeta, but was already pretty useful. Tien gets a slight downgrade, since his late-Android feats don't occur, but he's a present, relevant fighter through Frieza Saga. Yamcha gets the same boost as Tien, which does a little more in his case since his biggest feats post-Saiyan arc are not dying immediately to a Cell Jr and hyping up Krillin to lil' Marron. (Not much, but at least it helps reinforce that, at heart, Yamcha's a friendly guy who just shows some occasional unearned bravado for the sake of keeping spirits up.)
Launch did more than Chaiotzu. She helped get rid of the Red Ribbon army and saved everyone when they were tied up as the time bomb was ticking. Without her most of the main characters would be dead. Then she flies off and disappears. However she is still useful because without her we don't have any story after that!
Keep in mind that when Yamcha was attacked by Dr Gero, it was because his training had actually backfired - his power had risen so much he was mistaken for Goku (from an earlier arc, but still)
@@guillaumejoop6437Not quite. Yamcha was mistaken for how powerful Dr. Gero projected Goku to be based off his scout flies. Meaning, if Goku never went to Namek and didn’t train with advance knowledge of the androids arriving, Dr. Gero thought he’d be that strong. So it’s actually super impressive that Yamcha was a little stronger than Saiyan Saga Goku as a mere human.
@@danielbrown001That is really impressive. He also fought Moro's escapees and he looked cool. I wonder how strong he is now. I hope these human characters also get that grass roshi eats to stay immortal so they get to shine sometime.
The problem is also that Geros power was so great Yamcha got hit by a oneshot grab before he could react. I doubt that Gero this loser could have beaten any martial artist near the same powerlevel. And Piccolo was above Gero in power and look how Piccolo dispatched of him when Gero could not use the oneshot-grab on him.

I like to think that the unseen forever training Chiaotzu shows up to kill Frieza Black at the end of the arc as a 6’8” monster after finally hitting his growth spurt in his late 30’s.
He had his uses, but I don't think it's a hit take to suggest he fell way off the power curve by Z. Doesn't mean he's useless. He's still a top 3 human after all. Just that his uses are not gonna be on-screen against galaxy busters.

What's weird is Puar is often separated from Yamcha, we don't need Puar to show up all the time with him, but when it comes to Tien, Chiaotzu is glued to him. You'd think they'd come up with some kind of strategy to fight together, like use his telekinesis beyond the one time it didn't work. But no, this strange child in his 30's just kind of hangs around, like a toddler dragged to their parent's events.
Not only that. Tien always drags chiotzu with him only for tien to immediately send him home because its too dangerous. Which is complete bullshit because he can just be brought back

That these rules aren't always followed is a clear testament to the power Toriyama wielded, but abusing the power like that carries severe consequences for the integrity of the narrative. Toriyama could have, in theory, just blinked the Dragon Ball multiverse out existence, instantly annihilating every creature within, but in practice he couldn't do that, because the people would riot
All jokes aside, you make an interesting point... if dbz events happened in our world, UA-cam would literally be plastering misinformation pop-ups for anyone claiming Mr. Satan *wasn't* the one who defeated Cell. Amusing and yet unsettling thought...

Yamcha isn't a cheater. In the original Dragon Ball, she only THOUGHT Yamcha was cheating because of that one chick who was trying to steal Goku's Dragon Balls. Bulma is full of assumptions, and when she thinks she's right it's already too late for everybody else. Yamcha never cheated, but because of anime tropes Bulma only saw him when the thief was trying to seduce him; a FAILED seduction, as well. Still, without Bulma breaking up with him (it was kinda mutual... Bulma was a pretty shitty girlfriend) Trunks never would've happened. So... all's well that ends well?
Does Dragonball characterization point towards Yamcha cheating? No Is it funny as hell to think that he did? Yes, certainly to Toriyama at least. This leads me to the conclusion: Yamcha cheated.
yajirobe was there for goku after the fight with og piccoro, dude was always a gigachad no bloody idea why people would even think he is useless WTF -_-

talk about Chaozu, there's this SNES Dragon ball RPG game. The story begins at Raditz arc, then second arc we fight Vegeta and Nappa. On that arc, you can either allow the guys who died at the manga die (Chaozu, Tenshinhan and Yamcha), or let them survive (with the exception of Piccolo, he will die). If you bring those human to Namek and max their level (max level is 50), surprisingly the strongest of the human, among Chaozu, Tenshinhan, Yamcha and Krilin, is Chaozu. He has the highest power among them for some reason... don't ask me why. Just interesting that old game makes him the strongest
I remember that game and as a Chiaotzu fan at the time I got a lot of satisfaction keeping him alive and taking him to Namek. He was my MVP. Love an underdog haha
I had literally forgotten about Chiaotzu until you named him most useless. Like I was wracking my brains as you went through the list going "wait, then who's left!?"
They are NOT friends. Don't slander Goku like that. He'd never be friends with that little shit. Chiaotzu only shows up because Tien, Goku's actual friend, brings him as a +1.
I feel sorry for characters like Yamcha, Tien, Krillin etc… Because no matter how hard they train, or how powerful they become, they will be considered “weak” compared to the Saiyans 😢
Yamcha saved Goku and Bulma from Monster Carrot He saved Bulma and the others from Goku's great ape rampage and helped to revert him from his great ape form He sacrificed his own life for Krillin He got Goku to safety after the heart virus started killing him He basically almost always showed up to try and help against major villains Super also had him defeat a number of galactic convicts on his own He's far from the most effective fighter and takes a lot of Ls, but he always tries to help and is a loyal, steadfast friend.
I like the "What-If" scenario in Sparking Zero where Goku saves Yamcha from the Saibaman. Goku VA's "WATCH OUT, YAMCHA!" and Yamcha's heartfelt "You're a life saver, Goku!" was such a true bro moment. I wish the quality of the game's campaign was better but it definitely showed the friendship Goku has with these other fighters forgotten by the writers as the series progressed. What-If Goku was weaker than Canon Goku because he never learned the Kaioken or the Spirit Bomb, but his presence and leadership earlier on kept the other fighters alive. So they take on Vegeta as a group. Seeing Yamcha and everyone else give Vegeta 'The Carebear Stare' with all their moves was pretty epic.
Something with Toriyama is that he doesn't let his og characters shine. He can make then learn forbidden technics to power them up or learn God ki. Also add side villains for them to battle like they did in Moro arc, but better.
I wish they all had one arc where all of the saiyans go on a trip to Namek for something related with piccolo and the normal z fighters (tien , chiatzo, Yamcha , Krillin , Roshi) train and get some type of human transformation . Like hell I want each one of them to be relevant now days and actually do something that you can get hyped about

I'm not sure if it counts as usefulness, since it was while he was still a villain. But during Goku's fight with Tenshinhan, Chiaotzu was able to use his telekinesis to hold Goku in place. He only stopped because Tenshinhan wanted an honorable fight.
I believe her though... if it wasn't true, I think Yamcha would have been alot more outspoken about the whole thing. Yamcha cheated on Bulma and Bulma's comeuppance is she immediately starts a relationship with the guy who was partially responsible for his death. If we don't take Trunks'/Bulma's word, it becomes a very malicious story. I understand liking Yamcha, but people are constantly re-writing stories and looking for puzzles where there are none.
@@Rodney17302They aren't even rewriting the story, they're just ignoring a single ambigous uncomfirmed line and focusing on actual characterization. Yamcha in OG DB never even talked to another girl besides Bulma (not even kidding) while Bulma rubs herself on another man while drooling and in her underwear in the SAME sereis; Yamcha saved Bulma's life many times, and treated her amazingly, while she actively cheated on him, does an ambigous line from an uhreliable source immediately contradict that?
That is, of course, headcanon. Could be true. Could be untrue. I don't believe it's ever stated or hinted in the Manga or Anime that she is exaggerating though.
I think the funniest part about Chiaotsu is that I do not ever recall that the narrator said he died against the future androids. The idea of him being so underpowered that he isn't noticed by either the androids or Goku Black is hilarious to me
Yajirobe exists just to be useful. It’s only thanks to Yajirobe that Goku got to the top of Korin tower. He’s always handing people senzu beans, that prove to be pivotal, and my favorite Yajirobe moment. Cutting off Vegitas tail, which NEVER grows back. He also gave the actor who voiced Krillin a job for several months because they sound the same. His usefulness leaked into real life!!
7:46 not only that, but he also saved Vegeta by carrying him away from the spirit bomb's range, not even the dragoballs could have resurrected him if he died while being already dead.
So I mostly agree with you. EXCEPT: Chiaotzu only wins because you treat Kibito as a composite with Shin. Kibito on his own is far more useless than Chiaotzu. At least Chiaotzu tried to help, and provided inspiration/anger for the others. Kibito was not only around far less, he didn't try to help. Rather his arrogance and ignorance was an actual hinderance as long as he was around. He objected to everything, failed to recognize what was happening, and delayed things with his complaints. So while Shin and thus Kibitokai was not worthless, Kibito himself was far more useless than Chiaotzu.
I respectfully disagree because Chiaotzu *tried* to help. Kibito *did* help. If not for him, Shin and Gohan both would've died, meaning no Z Sword plan, no Elder Kai, and no way to revive Goku before Buu destroys the planet. Chiaotzu hasn't really done anything to match this.
Even if kibito is treated differently, he is still more useful than chiaotzu: - He was the one who healed Shin when he was on the verge of death. Essentially saving his life. - He heals and teleports gohan to the realm of kais so he could train and fight majin buu. Even if the list is small, that's still 2 more contributions than chiaotzu's.
yamcha was basically the main character of the first arc. goku wasn't a figured out character to toriyama yet so he was a pretty passive comedic character like most in the pilaf saga while yamcha played more of a traditional hero role ironically and he was the first character to ever save goku's life bulma's at the same time so it's not like you have to stretch that much to say he's useful just read the first arc.
also I don't think yamcha cheating on bulma if that is canon is why vegeta gets with bulma she probably would have anyway since the only thing backing up yamcha being a cheater is trunks saying so but bulma said she missed her chance with goku and talks as if yamcha is still with her when she says that so I think it would have happened anyway.
I would argue that Bulma's actually closer to the main character in the first arc, because she's usually the one that gets the gang into the situations and occasionally escalating them due to her selfishness and gung ho attitude. Though I think it would be more accurate to say that the first arc had an ensemble cast, except for maybe Puar. As for Yamcha cheating, I don't really care if it's canon or not, it seems pretty out of character for Yamcha to cheat, given nothing ever indicates it and Bulma has been shown to be overreactive, be in the manga or the anime filler. Not sure why people say it's a joke either since it's never treated like a punchline in the manga, unless you count Yamcha misunderstanding Goku by thinking he was saying Bulma and him should get married.
Dosen't make sense for me because toriyama wrote his main characters in comedic ways for example Arale in Dr slump is a gag character. Toriyama made goku a kind ish gag character until the first tenkaichi budokai arc
@@craigyeah1052 that's pretty much what I meant. regardless it's still kinda true toriyama only really decided to cut the retelling of journey to the west aspect of the story short to make goku go train with roshi because he knew martial arts tournaments were popular from dr slump and decided goku's character would be about getting stronger. yamcha in the pilaf saga has implicit and explicit character development which is amazing given it's an arc where the characters are again written more like gag manga characters usually. he even has 2 "goku landing" type moments in the pilaf saga when he saves goku from the rabbit goons and when he arrives in his car to help goku and bulma. sure a bit anticlimactic compared to where goku would end up but hey that fits yamcha a bit so XD
Hercule is anything but useless. He's an important side character in the Cell Saga and responsible for Buu's redemption in the Buu Saga. Befriending him genuinely could've stopped Buu if it wasn't for a guy killing Buu's dog. He's also responsible for Goku having enough energy to kill Kid Buu.
@TheDuckyDino I don't think she would've had another chance to there. Chichi was too angry at Goku for forgetting her to just casually approach him outside of a match and Goku was too concerned with Piccolo to worry about anything else.
As this is the same logic that prevents Yamcha from being the most useless, this makes Chiaotzu more useful than Yamcha. As such, *Oolong* should have been the most useless character, at least among those seen in the video.
@@Solrac_6412I think Yamcha was punished by Yenma, because his mistake in his previous life. He was the reason why Dr. Gero created hell fighter 17. I think he at some point had enough with Yenma and fused with broly. Broly's death is canon maybe. He was oolong replacement.
We also have to figure in that Yamcha's signature move the Wolf fang fist was taught to Gotenks who used it in the Dragon Ball Z movie where Tarble appears. So at least somebody is carrying on the tradition. Also during that movie Yamcha was able to save some people during the destruction of Mr Satan's hotel
The fight for the most useless character spot is mostly brought on by how the story had a revolving door of importance that most characters go in. Basically, the less Toriyama knew what to do with them, the less they do
there is one very importnant thing about yamcha, he did still train throughout all of the series, he just focused more on baseball. he has the ability to destroy earth and yet he has the patience to simply stay calm
I’m glad you mentioned Yamcha not being useless. Yamcha put up a good fight in the early days of the franchise. We just keep getting to many non human power-ups introduced.
Dragon Ball had several characters from the first season where it was a very different premise who end up not having much to do. Ox King, Oolang, Lunch, Puar, and arguably Yamaha all fit into that bill. Really the only characters who continue to stay important are Roshi, Bulma, obviously Goku, and eventually far later Chichi.
@endersdragon34 Krillin and Piccolo stay important generally. Granted almost entirely outgunned from Super Saiyan onward but certainly more important than Bulma or Roshi tend to be. Puar or Oolang are definitely the pick if not for their actions during the first Dragon Ball collection. It always seemed a little odd to me just how minor Ox King is though.
@@FNA27601 Ehhhhhhh kinda, he certainly fights well against 17 and Imperfect Cell but he's clearly outgunned by Cell's evolution. He definitely keeps being useful as an advisor and puts up a nice showing in the Tournament of Power in Super and in Super Hero (love that he got the spotlight) but his power fades fast. He's probably my favorite character in the whole thing but his prominence isn't much for most of it. I suppose he does in fact surpase Super Saiyan 1 for a little bit but I can't really give full marks since it was Vegeta and that dude basically exists to lose. Love the guy and he's badass but man he rarely lives up to his potential.

I've seen people making stuff up to par with your quality get jobs within the studios that make the media they talk about. All said, I REALLY hope you get to contribute to some "What If?" stuff in a game one day. We need more; so much more.
About the Yamcha Cheating thing 2:15: It’s interesting because this is likely something that Akira simply overlooked, since Trunks had to play a special role and had to be Vegeta’s son, if only to further develop Vegeta’s character. With the sudden introduction of a son, Vegeta had more room to grow, and without having to change his hair to blonde. But now it’s supposedly Yamcha who cheated - the guy with a somewhat perverted streak, sure, but who also has a big romantic side. He’s someone who only has eyes for one woman, whether in the past or even now. As soon as he was with Bulma, he didn’t care about anyone else. When Goku left and told Bulma to give birth to a healthy baby, Yamcha stood there, proud and ready to finally marry Bulma. He’s definitely not the type to just cheat like that. Sure, they had their arguments now and then. But it’s often implied that Bulma tends to overreact. And speaking of Bulma, she’s more the type who would “explore her options” - she was even willing to grab Goku’s “balls” for a Dragon Ball back in the day. She never truly supported Yamcha. Even at the first tournament, she seemed more excited about Jackie Chun than Yamcha just because of the cool name. She idolized General Blue, wondered why she hadn’t ended up with Goku, and back in the classic episodes, struggled with the idea that Yamcha was admired by other women simply because he was good-looking. He hadn’t done anything, yet she was completely jealous and wanted to cut him off just because other women were into him. He didn’t do anything wrong, but she was “jealous as hell.” And now he’s suddenly supposed to be the bad guy? Sure, Bulma is set up as the “good” one here - she can even forgive a mass murderer just like that, despite indirectly causing her ex-boyfriend’s death. But of course, she’s not the villain; Yamcha is the cheater, and … well, we don’t really need him in the series anymore. Bulma is the only available female character, so Vegeta has to settle for her. She’s the only one who can keep him in check, and he’s the only one who can put up with her moods. But still, it all feels very strange. The voice actors at the time were really baffled and even upset by this turn of events. Yamcha’s voice actor actually wanted to leave the studio because he thought it was ridiculous to suddenly make Yamcha out to be such a jerk. It’s much easier to imagine that Bulma was the one who cheated with Vegeta and that Yamcha took the blame because he was such an over-the-top simp and hopeless romantic. After all, Vegeta is a prince, and that would make Bulma a princess. And we only get this information from Trunks, who probably heard it from Bulma. She certainly wouldn’t tell him she cheated with Vegeta; of course, she’d paint Yamcha as the bad guy. It makes sense in a way.
this is only partly related but it's funny for me to read yamcha's VA took such a strong opposition to yamcha cheating on his gf when this yr he admitted to cheating on his wife for the past 4 yrs (among other things). assuming ur referring to the japanese VA, not american btw
Wait aren't Yamcha, Piccolo, & Vegeta all voiced by Sabat? Personally I like the TFS joke that it was Puar shapeshifted that Bulma walked in on him with.
Personally, I hate the "Ron the Death Eater" treatment Yamcha got because of it. Bulma and Yamcha are clearly still friends for the rest of the manga, Bulma doesn't even bring up any supposed cheating after the 3-year training period. Toriyama even confirms in an interview last decade that Yamcha still has gynophobia (It's so bad that he was fired from his job as a bouncer. Poor dolt). So, given Bulma's tendency to overexaggerate things and Yamcha's history, they could've easily broken up over a misunderstanding (which is honestly pretty funny). Sadly, some people take this shit way too seriously and always feel the need to bring it up when talking about Yamcha's character. I notice shippers tend to be very serious about it, often leading to him getting mischaracterized as a serial cheater.
Ever since original Dragon Ball, Bulma has been jealous of Yamcha's popularity with other girls. Even though there's never been any actual indication of him flirting/cheating with anyone else, Bulma still accused him of it and constantly attacked him for it. It's probably the same thing here where she saw him in some kind of situation and thought the worst and ended things with him for it. And not that I'm defending cheating, but even if he did, it would make sense considering how badly Bulma treated him a lot of the time, though it doesn't really make sense for his character to really do that anyway.
YES!!! I'VE BEEN SAYING IT FOR DECADES AT THIS POINT!!! The only reason we go so hard on Yamcha is because he, at least, has the merit of existing in the narrative. I don't even know what to say about Chiaotzu, he is a character... supposedly... PS : Whoever said Yajirobe was useless, tf are you on talking about the GOAT like that?
2:28 I mean, that's secondhand information from Future Bulma; who also told Future Trunks that Vegeta had a good side, yet was surprised when Trunks told her that she was right about Vegeta after he returned.
I'm of two minds with that scene: on one hand, it is Toriyama's way to explain to the audience (and Goku, of course) that is why Bulma ends up with Vegeta and why Trunks even exist. So from viewpoint, it is the canon reason and that Yamcha did cheat. On the other hand, from an in-universe perspective where Bulma's track record of being overreactive, I'm willing to think Trunks is just repeating what his mom likely would've said. Not only that, but it makes little sense for Yamcha as a character to cheat on Bulma. He's gotten cocky during fights, sure, but that wouldn't equate to cheating. Even the Japanese voice actors for Yamcha and Bulma (and I think Vegeta too?) expressed how little it made sense when that first got brought up.
@@CSwizzleDizzle We actually do get to see their break-up in the OG DB manga. Long story short, Goku, Bulma and Yamcha went to an amusement park. In there a RR army mook accosted Yamcha, however, from Bulma's point of view, it looked like they were kissing. Yamcha tried to explain this but Bulma wouldn't listen.
Imagine if Goku and Hit (who was introduced in the universe six tounement) didn’t say a single line to each other until the TOP where Goku tells CABBA “ Hey, tell HiT I think his time skip ability is cool” and then Cabba relays that message once he loses and he’s in the stands
That's the thing though, the only side of the story we have is Trunk's. A guy who never met yamcha before time traveling, and is going purely off his mothers side of the story. Anybody who's actually aware of Bulma and Yamcha's relationship would call cap so fast, especially with Bulma's streak of calling Yamcha a cheater anytime a girl so much as looked at him.
Yamcha is badass in his own right, yeah he's not one of the strongest like Goku or Vegeta but he's still strong and he is the reason why the others didn't die from the saibamen like he did.
@@Prince-Shogun It sickens me too and while Yamcha's death pose is a classic meme and even shows up in different medias especially in dokkan battle, he doesn't deserve that disrespect
I really hate the whole Yamcha cheated on Bulma thing. It's insanely out of character for Yamcha do to and was obviously made just to give Bulma a symphetetic reason to break up with Yamcha. Yamcha was done dirty
As much as we all respect the man, Toriyama was not good at writing relationship stuff. Yamcha cheating on Bulma is a very Toriyama gag that sidesteps having to come up with a relationship arc that leads to them splitting up that is compelling and believable.
Bulma p much said Yamcha was already cheating on her in the saiyan arc. According to the kakarot game it was a misunderstanding but it’s still not hard to believe imo; bulma and Yamcha never had much reason to like each other anyway “but he was afraid of women tho” and then he got over it and became cocky, it’s rlly not that crazy
A kid dressed like a traditional doll is useless. What a surprise. No one is even expecting much from him in the first place. Unlike with Yamcha and Ten, people expected them to step up, but they failed. In short, we had zero expectations of Chaozu, so him doing close to nothing is not really an issue.
I couldve sworn his lore was like that he was a vampire emperor who went to train at the crane school??? or maybe budokai tenkaichi 1 made that up its been a while
10:11 technically Vegeta’s sacrifice delayed Babidi and Buu’s rampage. That delay gave Goku time to wake up, gather everyone on the lookout, earn Goten and Trunks’ respect and convince buu to wait for Gotenks. Which leads to Buutenks, Buuhan and Vegetto, and eventually the separation of Mr Buu from Kid Buu. With Mr Buu buying time in the Kid buu fight as well as being a dai kaio conduit in the Moro arc.
i dunno the "respect" he got here was that he gets his ass kicked so hard that it was a warning for others multiple times, he loses his girl to some guy that was the reason he died. does not seem like he is respected by anyone
People who think Yamcha would never cheated on Bulma have clearly never played the side-quests in Kakarot. Yamcha literally goes out with ten girls a day bro
Yamcha is such a great character. He has cool unique moves like the Wolf Fang Fist and the Soukidan, he actually feels like a martial artist on himself to improve, and the damage he takes helped the villains looked terrifying, from being blown up by the Saibamen to the oh so scary shot of Dr. Gero impaling him. That terrified me as a kid.

@@solgerWhyIsThereAnAtItLooksBad chiaotzu might be the saddest character in anime
@@solgerWhyIsThereAnAtItLooksBad No? He died multiple times trying to be a good guy Chiaotzu, and then decided to switch to villainy in hopes of, you know, not dying this time. Pretty normal cycle for a human trapped in a time loop.
He survived Buu's Genocide Attack only to cower in the corner until he ultimately was killed by Kid Buu blowing up the Earth.
Keep in mind that when Yamcha was attacked by Dr Gero, it was because his training had actually backfired - his power had risen so much he was mistaken for Goku (from an earlier arc, but still)
He was mistaken for kid Goku from when he destroyed the red ribbon, I think Gero's data were that outdated

Yes having a word from a character that got the word from his mother so automatically less likely to admit to her being wrong.
I believe her though... if it wasn't true, I think Yamcha would have been alot more outspoken about the whole thing. Yamcha cheated on Bulma and Bulma's comeuppance is she immediately starts a relationship with the guy who was partially responsible for his death. Johnsong is right, but goku was holding back from throwing the Bomb for some reason
So I mostly agree with you.
EXCEPT:
Chiaotzu only wins because you treat Kibito as a composite with Shin.
Yes indeed he didn't even try to help me neat Babadi in the future while Shin died
Kibito is the one who healed Gohan and has the ability to teleport
Kibito is currently doing things in Daima as well
I respectfully disagree because Chiaotzu *tried* to help. Kibito *did* help. If not for him, Shin and Gohan both would've died, meaning no Z Sword plan, no Elder Kai, and no way to revive Goku before Buu destroys the planet. Chiaotzu hasn't really done anything to match this.
Even if kibito is treated differently, he is still more useful than chiaotzu:
- He was the one who healed Shin when he was on the verge of death.
In my opinion Goku is still very much framed as the main character, with Yamcha being closer to a parody of the traditional hero.
It's thanks to Chiaotzu that Gohan exists since he fixed the tournament matchups to allow ChiChi to survive long enough to fight Goku.
I mean, she probably would have talked to him anyway, the fact that it was during a fight just made it more dramatic

He also pretty decent in baseball cut him some slack
@@Solrac_6412yeah but Is he ever gonna do something?
We also have to figure in that Yamcha's signature move the Wolf fang fist was taught to Gotenks who used it in the Dragon Ball Z movie where Tarble appears. So at least somebody is carrying on the tradition. Also during that movie Yamcha was able to save some people during the destruction of Mr Satan's hotel
The fight for the most useless character spot is mostly brought on by how the story had a revolving door of importance that most characters go in. Basically, the less Toriyama knew what to do with them, the less they do
poor launch, he completely forgot about her.
there is one very importnant thing about yamcha, he did still train throughout all of the series, he just focused more on baseball. he has the ability to destroy earth and yet he has the patience to simply stay calm
its sonic the hedgehog, that bastard didn’t give his energy to goku during the majin buu arc.
jk its obviously roshi’s turtle
I’m glad you mentioned Yamcha not being useless. Yamcha put up a good fight in the early days of the franchise. We just keep getting to many non human power-ups introduced.

Your conclusion is probably both right and reasonable but also it's actually probably Launch/Lunch. Which is a shame because I love her.
@@swampert564nah Piccolo keeps up until the end of the cell arc

Kidding aside, yeah same. In fact I'd assume most familiar with the series would come to the same conclusion within seconds. It's too obvious.
Bruh thank you for putting out such fun and interesting stuff. Your creativity makes me feel like you'd be a great addition to the DB writer's room. I've seen people making stuff up to par with your quality get jobs within the studios that make the media they talk about.
All said, I REALLY hope you get to contribute to some "What If?" stuff in a game one day. We need more; so much more.
About the Yamcha Cheating thing 2:15:
It’s interesting because this is likely something that Akira simply overlooked, since Trunks had to play a special role and had to be Vegeta’s son, if only to further develop Vegeta’s character.
Chiaotzu may not do much in a fight, but his bond with Tien is adorable and therefore he's not totally useless

@@toumabyakuya That's not in the manga though. That was anime filler where the Red Ribbon hired a thief named Hasky and her cronies.

2:29 That’s still an allegation. We don’t know Yamcha’s side of the story. My dude Yamcha is innocent until proven guilty! 🧐

@@Prince-Shogun It sickens me too and while Yamcha's death pose is a classic meme and even shows up in different medias especially in dokkan battle, he doesn't deserve that disrespect

Don’t forget, Bulma was definitely for the streets in Dbz
