I would say it was a mixture of that and trying to force people to buy electric vehicles as they are exempt. Not idea for van though as electric vans suck
Yes, it is a money-making racket. The ignorant and stupid people that we have governing this country have handed this opportunity to these councils to rob us even more than they do with the council tax! Councils could be run much cheaper if they were not involved in all the tinpot and crazy issues that the government have laid upon them, eg. ‘Saving the Planet’, and social engineering.
@@vanlifesurvivorsguideTo be ULEZ compliant, petrol cars must meet Euro 4 emissions standards. Most petrol cars registered after January 2006 meet these standards. I drive a petrol Porsche 718, and it's exempt believe it or not!
On the one hand we are being told that ‘we are all living longer’ and it is becoming a problem in society. Then next we are being told that we all all dying of pollution! Both things cannot be true at the same time! Of course there are always many individuals who suffer from these things, but as in many ways we cannot rule everybody’s lives just for the minority. There are other ways of reducing pollution from vehicles but we have probably abandoned this possibility now to follow the electric path, which I believe is going to throw up its own problems.

hey do you mind if I ask you something? I have reached out to other channels and on reddit too, I'm not really getting any responses, the camper policies in Ireland and I believe the uk too allow 6 months abroad per year maximum of cover, so how do people take off for longer than that without having to come back and sit around to wait for their next allowance? is there a company that will cover you longer term? do they take out a European policy somewhere? nobody seems to know
Hi mate, im not sure how it works for Ireland but we used to be able to pay our insurance companies an extra premium and then we could extend our overseas travel length. Since brexit though we are only allowed in Europe for a certain amount of days in a row anyway so 6 month would be more than enough for us now,

The final test was in 1991. Nuclear prevention is a different issue to emission control lol.

Makes sense in London where some areas the average price for a house is 2.5mil but in Bristol City centre 🤔 really!!! Council housing estates don't need clean air and i shouldn't have to pay extra to drive through the shithole!!

I have heard that people have voted to have this clean air zones to where they live. Personally I don't like them and if all possible will avoid them. Let's see if they still like the idea when it comes for them to sell there house. There is no way I will buy a house inside a low emissions zone.
If you can afford to buy a home in the LEZ area, you can afford a fleet or new cars. LEZ is slap bang in central London.
