This is great content. I can tell your channel is going to be big soon
Thanks!
Awesome video ! I’ve been waiting for this !!!!!
Great job! Very helpful. Thank you for sharing
Excellent video! I am looking to get into mountain biking and your videos are helping me make important gear decisions! Subbed!
Thanks Travis!
You have excellent professional reviews!
7:20 that hasn't been an issue for met, you can get the bladder hose directly into your mouth instead of the chinguard. I currently use A Fox Rampage Pro Carbon, but I need a hew helmet soon. But I've not tried this helmet.
awesome detailed review bro.. thanx man .. keep up great vids...!!
Thanks!
Wearing the helmet while watching the video, including the POC goggles…. Absolutely amazing helmet
Amazing Video. Thx vor the review. After your video I bought this helmet. Thank you!!
Thanks Gianni! I’m glad it helped. When you get a couple of rides in...let me know what you think.
I haven't tried their helmeets yet, but I do ride with their JOINT VDP2.0 DH pads. and Like them a lot, I did a review on them, which is on my website. great coverage, great side coverage, overlapping pads at the joints. but they are warm, sweaty, so in midsummer I get soaked in sweat and it feels like standing near an oven.
Amazing review
Do you have any thoughts on the poc otocon? I had a bad wreck, smashed my face and cracked my half shell. I’ve been looking to get a full face but don’t really know what to get. Mostly ride downhill in middle TN, but definitely have some climbs to get to the downhills. Definitely interested in the POC, but think it might be a little overkill.
Just picked mine up today. almost bought a fox proframe but its only rated for single impact... i'm sorry but if I crash once and have to replace a helmet that expensive i'm not going to be happy. For this reason alone i went with the POC. Feels comfy and looks great. Simple not flashy but still steezy. Stoked to hit the trails with it. P.S great review.. cheers from Vernon, BC !
@@Error-hc7mp I love it . Took a heavy slam on A - line with it last week and it held up great haha
@@Error-hc7mp I'm pretty happy with it man . There's definitely helmets out there with a little better ventilation I think but I didn't have a problem. I always take my helmet off in the bike park line ups anyway . Riding was more than sufficient ventilation tho .. probably wouldn't be a good peddling helmet like a fox rampage but its way more durable . I'd recommend it if you're looking to buy !
What i did to get a lil bit more air. I removed chin padding.
Great review.
there are definitely some great engineering there with the vents, and visor, but I am not sure if it's for me yet.
Why?
@@AlexeyDnepr the buckle.
I don't know whether to get the smith mainline or this one. Which one would you recommend for long pedal days (4-5 hr rides) to be honest i like the style of the poc more but if its going to be absurdly hot then that's pretty much a deal breaker as I need the helmet to be breathable. Great video as always! Cheers!
The Mainline is going to breathe better but I like having the conventional clamp on the POC. Where do you live and how does the weather get in the summer?
To the first bad point: get a 90 degree angle for the water tube. Very good thing. 👍
Hi, thanks for the great reviews on this and the Mainline. I just had both ff helmets delivered to me, and I'm deciding between the two. Do you think that both helmets are safe enough for bike parks/DH riding? I know they are both DH rated. Also, if you had to choose one for bike parks/DH, which would you choose? Thanks!
I would trust both in parks/DH riding. The POC gives me more of a DH feeling though. That is completely subjective. They should both be as safe.
I’ve been trying to decide which full face to buy. I like this one the best but was worried it would be too much for trail riding. Thank you for the review. I feel like I can buy this with some confidence it will work for my use.
Just take the helmet off during the climb. Put it on your handlebars. That’s what I do
Hi Rob, great videos, thanks. I have the smith mainline helmet and the old Poc coron air spin. The noise of the mips in the smith doesn't bother me but what does really annoy me is not been able to hear well outside of the helmet. Could you please tell me which helmet can you hear out of better, the new coron or the smith mainline, thanks, cheers👍
The Mainline for the most part. It has more venting that helps with that. The POC is more DH based of the two.
@@Bike198 cool, thanks Rob👍
I was torn between this and the Smith Mainline. Ended up going Mainline for the perceived ventilation advantages for longer pedals and SoCal heat. Really wanted to get the POC though, love their stuff. Great reviews on both btw!
You can't really go wrong with either. The Mainline is going to cool better than the POC due to the venting. Thanks for watching!
I tried the Mainline but found the MIPS noise was driving me crazy. The strange thing is I also tried a TLD Stage and the MIPS in that was virtually silent.
Mainline visor broke on me just carrying it... terrible helmet for me so far. The plastic screws broke off inside the holes and couldnt take them out lol. Now I have a useless helmet with no sun visor
@@JokerKnightmare you can fix the creaking by putting a bit of fabric tape between the contact points with the mips and foam/koroyd
Thank you! This was a great review. Enjoyed your video and got my 7 yrs old BMX rider this helmet.
Nice! Riding with your kids is an awesome experience.
hi, did you end up getting this one for your kid? how did the fit go with your 7 year old? was the helmet not too big? mines 9
@@sheilav3684 i did. but my 7 yrs old head just was a bit small and i didnt want to mess with the inserts. i returned it. i recommended to a 10 yrs old and its perfect. i would get it for 9 yrs. you can get it on amazon and easy return if too big.
@@DylanBMXkid thank you his head is 56. The fit of not full face on the head are wonderful though. Not much sell POC here @ palm bch though. I see Most kids wear FOX
@@sheilav3684 I got him Fly Werx
I just bought the mainline in the matte green and orange to match my salsa timberjack with smith squad goggles but this and the troy lee were tied as my second choice.
How do you like it so far Cade? I posted a review on that one as well.
@@Bike198 I haven't gotten it yet unfortunately it comes this Friday hopefully
Hey, other question for you, do you find that those white goggle gives you more reflection inside? Was thinking about buying those myself but I've started to notice this issue in other goggles... like a car dashboard. You get more reflection on your windshield with lighter dashboards vs those with darker dashboards. So that inner color of the goggle is what reflects on the lends from the inside. Just curious on your thoughts.
They are wide enough that it doesn't happen. I don't notice the color at all. I do run the clear lenses though because we ride in so much tree cover.
I’m in humid East Tennessee (summertime) I am torn between the POC Coron Air and the TLD Stage. I definitely want something very breathable. I do a lot of long uphill climbs to get to my downhills. I usually just take my helmet off when I’m climbing. What would you think is better for the hot east Tennessee weather?
The Stage will probably be a better fit. You will like the increased ventilation.
Im on the market right now for a full face enduro helmet, im looking on reviews of four different helmet POC,Proframe,Mainline and Leatt 4.0,its hard to decide, maybe a little help from you in making up my mind on which one to buy…and thank you.
I haven't tried the Proframe or the Leatt yet. Between the POC and Mainline...it depends. Where are you located? If you are in A LOT Of hot weather...the Mainline does have more venting.
How soft is the epp liner, can you push your fingertip into it relatively easy?
It's cushioning enough.
So at like 2:09 you put the helmet on and it looks like your face is squished and turns red as if blood flow is restricted.... I just got mine like 2 days ago and feel like my face looks similar when I put it on and feel like the front of the cheek pads has a bit of pressure towards my mouth (new to full face but thinking this isn’t fitting right) and I also see a bit of redness in my face from it. Wondering if wearing it has loosened up those pads some or if you know if there’s any way to adjust them. Been enjoying your recent videos. Keep it up.
It is a little tight on the checks at first. They do break in some and they do on the ride as well. That keeps the helmet really secure on your head. Have you tried it on a ride yet?
@@Bike198 Not yet. Was trying to decide to give it a whirl or send it back. I appreciate your feedback on the cheek pads. Having seen some guys both first hand and online have some bad hits and receive concussions, even when wearing DH rated lighter weight ff helmets, I'd rather deal with the sweat and have one that really protects. Having lived in Augusta, GA and now Asheville, NC, I feel like I can wear this one most days all year, but I can't image wearing this in GA from April through October.
What is your head size and which size of helmet suits you?
As a fellow Georgian, what are some of your go-to and favorite mtb parks or trails in Georgia?
I typically like to head to the mountains but Blankets Creek, Big Creek are good local ones.
I would like to start mtb, my bike would be probably canyon torque 5, i would ride little bit bike parks but mostly nature enduro, maybe sometimes little bit freeride too. Which one would be better for me, i'm 13 old. Leatt dbx 4.0 or that poc?
You can't go wrong ether way I think. I haven't personally tried the Leatt yet so I can't comment on that one directly.
@@Bike198 but i have seen that the leatt is good for my riding style too
6:34 you are doing the D ring buckle thing wrong, there is no reason to fiddle with it, to take the strap out of the rings, just loosen it and take the helmet off.
for me it's not a problem at all.
but one handed use is a better experience on the plastic buckle for sure.
but a negative is that it can go out of adjustment easy, at least on most buckles it does, how is this buckle? do I have to sew the strap for it to not go out of adjustment?
Johannes, for me it is more about getting back on that takes so long. You have to fish it back through. I didn't have any slipping issues out of the POC strap. They use a really high quality, thick strap which I find helps a lot. When manufacturers use thinner straps...they do come out of adjustment easily I have found as well.
@@Bike198 thx, sounds promising.
@@Bike198 of course it will be harder if you pull the strap out of the rings, it's unnecessary, I just loosen it enough to take the helmet off, that should not be a problem, but I see some helmets have a extra long strap so you can get it really loose. I am pretty much an expert at putting full-face helmets on and off. I've doen it for years.
I love my WHITE bag! I can find it! Who cares if it looks dirty. I can write my name and # on the white bag! Black bags just disappear. Enjoyed your video, great info!
Great idea on on writing on the bag! Didn’t think of that one...
nice helmet 🥰🥰❤️🔥
Hi, considering that I am buying a new helmet, which I would wear for 5 hours, will a POC be a good choice, there are high temperatures here during the summer. I really like the POC, because of the comfort and protection above all, but given the long rides that won’t be downhill (moustly in the woods) , is that a good choice? That would be the only helmet I would wear..
Or maybe Troy lee stage..?
Did you decide? I’m having the same dilemma
@@josevaldivieso4971 nope still thinking, poc or smith..
Smith is going to have more venting. I would probably go that route if you are looking at 5 hour rides in warmer weather.
Well I am going with smith, thanks!
Have you tested Fox Rampage or Fox Proframe?
I have not yet. Both look like great options though.
Bike😃Awesome mtb video! You will get better, you just earned a new subscribers
Thanks for the sub!
What size is your head circumference?
58cm. There is no perfect measurement of that but that is what I go off of.
I just got mine for $165!
Would this be good for trail riding
Depending on conditions. It is light enough and comfortable enough for it. If you are in really hot weather, you might want to go for one that has more ventilation.
@BIKE198, what size is that?
It's the M/L
@@Bike198 ok ty
Things I’ve noticed with mine, the top two rear vents are barely open ( can’t even see through them). The front vents and vents above the brows are occluded with the padding which I don’t know how it keeps it cooled down. Only wide open vents are the 4 rear vents and the 2 under the visor sides.
Hass...I went back and looked at the Mainline and it is the same story. A lot of the vents are blocked by pads. That still has to be cooler than just being a shell but it does take away some of that vents performance for sure.
@@Bike198 sweet good to know, I have a mainline coming in today to compare them. Still a great helmet eitherway
Let me know what you think when you get it in and if you agree with my review of it. Great helmet that with a few tweaks would be perfect.
@@Bike198 will do, which one did you like more?
I really like the buckle on the POC vs. the D Ring strap on the Smith. If the Smith had a buckle or magnetic attachment...that would be perfect.
Is this safe enough for a 60+mph electric scooter?
It's downhill certified. I would probably look for something more motorcycle related in that case though.
@@Bike198 Do downhillers usually go less than 60 miles an hour?
I’m curious which size to get. I’m 58 cm. Right at the edge of the M-L size and XL
Mike...I am 58 as well. It is great around the head and a little tight at the cheeks. I wanted it a little more snug than loose. Depending on where you order it from, you can return it for another size if it doesn't fit correctly. It sucks being in between sizes.
@@Bike198 what size did you get?
Your video is what convinced me to just place an order. I went with XL.
The M/L. Get the XL in and see what you think. You can adjust it with those additional pads. I didn't use any of them on the m/l.
@@menemismix sorry for getting into the conversation, but my head is 58 too. Dont you mind when your helmet arrives to comment here what you think of the xl?
That will help me a lot...
Thanks for your time :)
POC Coron Air SPIN or FOX Proframe?
I haven't tried the Proframe yet but I have heard good things. I would equate that one more to the Smith Mainline that I reviewed on here.
Proframe seems to be getting a lot of flack at the moment due to multiple users reporting the chin bar breaking away when given a mediocre knock from the side.
For something Enduro/DH oriented - definitely POC or Leatt. There's been a report that one guy used Proframe for DH and when he had a crash - the chin bar pivots broke right into his neck. Also its polycarbonate shell is so thin to get its "ultra-lightweight" marketing thing i doubt it protects from anything at all. Look here at 06:25 ua-cam.com/video/ClNwvHMi2cY/v-deo.html
Tell me, why are MTB full-face helmets the same or more than real dirt biking helmets. This industry is nuts.
