I used to drink milk by the boatload, loved, loved, loved icecream and always had sinusitis to the point that I had to be hospitalized with a severe sinus infection that was traveling to my brain. When I asked my doctor if dairy was the cause of my sinus infection he told me no. I started listening to doctors like this and cut out the dairy and no longer need sinus medication because I don't get sinus infections anymore.
mica onyx yep! I had emergency sinusitis surgery in college and always had weird problems. Went vegan this year and my sinus issues disappeared. But lately I’ve been eating some dairy here and there and my skin isn’t as clear and I have on and off terrible stomach pains (and a pricey endoscopy showed nothing wrong with me). It’s wild. About to give up dairy again because after a Thanksgiving weekend full of dairy I’m fatigued and my stomach hurts and I feel like garbage!
marcy gonzalez Most doctors have not studied nutrition, so they usually don’t know! My doctor is against sugary foods and tells me to exercise and take probiotics!
I had sudden onset acne in my early thirties. It was raging red and pulsating with pain. After several visits with various dermatologists, one diagnosed a dairy allergy. I stopped all dairy for six months and the acne cleared beautifully. So I started consuming dairy again. And the acne returned with its same vengeance. I quit dairy from then on and have remained acne free ever since.
hello dee, it’s a miracle that I found you. this is really an incredible coincidence. someone is looking over us. I was watching videos about hiatal hernia on Pam Fox’s UA-cam channel. i’ve been trying for over a year to try to find out what happened to you with your stomach problems when you were hungry and you got horrid hunger pains well this is the same thing that’s been happening to me and I’ve been suffering from it for almost 2 years now. how did you heal your stomach issues?
@@fullmoon2151 Not only that, never had the flu since. For 7 years straight. Meanwhile when i was age 6-20 I had the flu at least once every 2 years. Stop calling me a liar you vaccinated meat eating atheist.
My father was born in 1916 on a dairy farm in New Hampshire and lived to be 91. He died during a surgical procedure. He drank milk every day of his life with no problems and much to our dismay rarely ate vegetables.
@@caroldraper5017yes even god said for man to drink milk(goat milk) everyday and honey and to have it in bulk for your family . This doctor is a demon most doctors are as dumb as a rock and don’t think logically only go based off of their intellect that is evil
We were served milk every day by our school as a routine matter. I drank milk all through my childhood and long into my young adult life. I was also completely bloated, gaseous, and my throat and nose closed up all the time giving me trouble breathing. God knows what else it did to me. I don't understand how I didnt see the connection. What a waste of wellbeing.
NickBossBG Within a week of going off dairy I was noticeably better with my asthma, coughing, and particularly Candida symptoms. I tried to go back onto with unpasteurized milk and although I could digest it a bit easier I still a post nasal drip starting within half-an-hour of having some milk in a bowl of cereal.
Joe Smith YES, some fucking reason. Thank you. Stress on bones creates stronger bones, you can stress your bones by working out. Don’t break them, but stressing them is good.
Dont talk shit .you need vitamin D3 to make the bones and muscles healthy also calcium and many other minerals and amino acids . If you work your bones that doesnt make them better at all .
My husband has strange dairy allergy symptoms. He will be okay with the odd thin slice of cheese every 2-3 days until after about a fortnight, then he starts scratching his ankles and legs until the blood comes through. If he continues to eat cheese, the itchiness starts to appear around his waist too. For a long time, we didn't know what was causing these itchy rashes, so he went on an elimination diet and luckily dairy was the first food on the list. 2 weeks later and all symptoms vanished.
I quit dairy products and sugar and it helped me tremendously in regulating weight, bloating issues, type 2 diabetes. I feel so light and active with these poisonous stuff out of my system. I use coconut milk for my tea. Thank you Dr. for such an informative video. I hope more people benefit from the information.
Cancer thrives on sugar so it's best we all stay away. The fake sugars are extremely toxic and now coming out as harmful to our DNA and are genetoxins.
This is really the most important dietary advice everyone should take. Sooooo many life long, reoccurring problems GO AWAY over night, when you stop dairy.
@@LouveniaMusic Same here. No more sinus, inflammation and achy joints after going high-protein, low-fat vegan. Chia seeds for omega-3 and B12 supplements.
@@andrewchan5153 I fell off the vegan train but am feeling like crap again lately. Can you please share with me any helpful meal prep resources or things to keep in mind? I need to kick the sugary bad foods and get back to being buddies with real, whole foods!
@@LouveniaMusic The most important thing to keep in mind when going vegan is B12 (which can be obtained through supplements cyanocobalamin or methylcobalamin), Omega-3 (obtainable from 2 tablespoons daily of flaxseeds or chia seeds) and protein (obtainable from legumes like adzuki beans, mung beans, chickpeas, black beans, lentils etc.) My typical (base) daily vegan diet consists of one scoop (30g) of plant based protein powder, 2 kiwis, 1 banana, lots of beans (adzuki beans, mung beans, etc.), lentils, a multivitamin pill which contains B12, and 2 tablespoons of Chia seeds. In addition to these (base diet), I will eat other random vegan foods. As long as the base diet is met, the micro and macro nutrient intakes are sufficient. Feel free to add anything to this base diet. Feel free to use spices , seasonings, sugar and salt to spice things up because these things are quite bland by themselves. Occasionally I will have vegan meat patties which I season with smoked praprika and some salt. I have also gone on and off the vegan train, many times, and have seen the difference that a plant based diet can make.
I used to always have SINUS infections, and had lost my sense of smell, and I was getting sick often. I also felt like had ADD at times, and had many stomach issues. I gave up on dairy and gluten foods about 6 months ago, and within 3 days I got my sense of smell back! For the ones that are skeptical, just try it for a week, it'll do wonders especially if you're currently binging on those 2 food groups.
I drink at least 3 liters of raw, organic milk every week and my skin is way better now and the probiotics that it contains make my gut feel very good. I think the difference between conventional pasteurized milk and raw organic milk is massively underrated!
That will eventually mess up your hormones, and could likely be from just the effects of the strong amount of probiotics which you can get from supplements without the high hormones in that amount of milk.
@@myhi6793 I have been doing this for more than a year now and my period seems unaffected still, even in times where I drank about 6 liters of milk a week (because I love the creamy taste ^^). True, but I believe getting probiotics or vitamins from food directly or the source directly is always preferable than getting it through supplements. Would you say milk has high hormones even if the cows were not given any growth hormones?
@@arbretree5463 Yes because during child birth the female body (including the cow) produces more estrogen to accommodate for the baby cow, that high amount of fat and estrogen from the milk also contains cow pus, this going in you body causes it to produce a lot of mucus and estrogen which could possibly lead to worsened emotions and mental health as well as pms, also could lead to uterine cysts form the estrogen. But if your ancestors have been surviving purely off milk as a staple in their diet than you could be a bit more resistant to the side effects of the milk unlike someone who’s ancestors never touched milk. Also getting probiotics in a supplement form has been shown to be the most beneficial since it has the highest amounts of good bacteria and good quality ones have the ability to withstand stomach acid, the ones in the fermentation of foods has been shown not to have as great health benefits as a good quality probiotic.
ENT kept telling me I have a seasonal allergy and to do a daily sinus rinse to help get the toxins out. When I figured out or finally admitted I’m allergic to dairy and actually stopped consuming it. All of those “allergy” symptoms stopped. Dairy was also the reason for my life long battle with halitosis and thick white coating on my tongue that I couldn’t get rid of. I take calcium and vitamin d supplements daily.
My experience from cutting dairy was very positive.. as a 26 year old male who had been consuming dairy pretty much my whole life, I finally decided to quit. 6 months down the line, I'm no longer holding fatty weight on my body, and I've lost weight but not unhealthy weight, more like weight around my waist and around my face.. I now look much more healthier and I'm no longer feeling lethargic when I wake up in the morning. Also, it may sound weird but my erections are harder now! And my sex drive has increased greatly.. not sure if its because I've started eating more healthy stuff such as beans and lentils and no junk food but deep down I do believe its the cutting out dairy which contributed. Finally, MY IBS HAS DISAPEARRED! Why is it that I no longer feel the need to use the loo multiple times a day???? I now go once or twice, but when I was eating dairy I was going 3 to 4 times... never consuming dairy again that shit makes me feel horrible

Raw dairy is key. I avoid pasteurized dairy because of congestivity from pasteurized dairy. Also, with raw milk, I don't refrigerate it, I let it culture ferment at ambient room temperature. The milk can be drunken from fresh through till whenever, usually within a week or two.
Eileen Parczen there you have it, 100% proof. Genetics be damned. All the other environmental factors be damned. Eileen did all the scientific work for us. Bravo.
Thank you so much for all of the info in this video. I've been completely dairy free now for 3 years and I've never felt better in my life. My skin is now clear and I lost quite a bit of weight just from this single diet change alone. I highly encourage people with eczema to try this lifestyle, you will see and feel the difference 👌👍
+Hollie Forrest I have too, great to hear you are dairy free. My chronic sinus infection cleared as soon as I gave up dairy, there are so many delicious vegan cheeses too. I also morally could not support the inherent cruelty of dairy farms most dairy cows are kept their whole lives in tiny stalls where they cannot even turn around, they are chained to the stall, and have their calves taken from them so they produce more milk. It is truly one of the saddest situations on earth, I am holding the intention and vision all of humanity evolves into compassion for themselves, all people and all other sentient beings. Cows are the sweetest animals they don't deserve this.
Amazing you share this, have a look at my vid Dairy, Why I say No. I have known about all the disease drama behind milk for many years but those old ways we slip back into...? Something I discovered relating to skin has switched me off all dairy for life. I thought I'd love to share this with you to inspire you to keep it up. Isn't it amazing what time does.... it allows your taste buds to rule the roost and we will eventually convince ourselves... It's not that bad! Wow 3 years.. Keep it up!
I had a friend of mine who had bipolar disorder. But his bipolar disorder was caused by Dairy and Gluten (Wheat, Rye, Barley, etc.). Corn gluten can also be dangerous as well. When he stopped both, he became a lot better. For example, check youtube video "The Milk Protein Casein and Bipolar Disorder" by Dr. David J. Clark. There is also a youtube video by Dr. David Clark called "Cheese causes seizures" on how seizure was gone after dairy was eliminated.
I have the exact reverse. If I go without milk for even a week or two, I wake up in the night with my body yelling for milk. When I was in Africa for several years I had problems getting milk in some places andmybody was very unhappy. I'm 80 years old and I've always had a well-rounded diet, but milk is a MUST.
I think its more of the chemicals you keep adding to milk. Italy, Switzerland and Sweden all consume much more milk then Americans but are way more healthier. Do a study with milk from these countries that ban chemicals from being added into the milk.
Thank you for sharing this. When I eliminated milk, I did notice than my nasal congestion was less, so maybe I'm a little bit sensitive to dairy. However not everyone is. Also hormone/chemical free milk is certainly not bad in moderation for people who can digest it. Absolutely case in point- Switzerland, Sweden, perhaps also Netherlands, also Mediterranean countries. People drink a lot of milk, and in Italy they also eat a lot of carbs 😀.
Yep Milos, you got the point. Remember Bulgaria and the lactobacillus bulgaricus. The mountain cowboys over there are v e r y sturdy and resilient up to an age of around 120 !! Well now I thimnk the same as you: It depends on the healthiness of the food of the cows - what they get from the farmer. I enjoy o r g a n i c yoghurt and its quite okay with me !
Yup, dairy is not necessarily the issue, unless you are seriously allergic to it. The real problem is the pasteurization process that destroys the beneficial enzymes and immunoglobulins contained in milk. Without these enzymes, the body cannot properly digest and assimilate milk. This is why I’m not a fan of Dr. Hyman’s opinions on dairy. He doesn’t touch on this issue very often, which is kind of irresponsible of him.
When I gave up dairy the sinus problems I had since childhood went away. I went on a whole food plant based diet over 13 years ago and many of the health problems I had went away. Going strong at 71 years old. No more pills.
God bless you what a beautiful story. Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm right behind you sister I'm on 11 years plant-based diet and I feel amazing every day!!!
I will have to give up milk. It causes so much phlegm. I love milk and all milk products but with my morning tea which has milk in it I end up coughing and clearing my throat all morning. It’s getting bad. My ears are full and it affects hearing. I have sinusitis and have a terrible time getting over a virus. I take viruses so hard and the effects of it last for twelve weeks with full head feelings and bronchial congestion. I was allergy tested for food allergies and it came back negative on milk. I’m beginning not to believe this. Certainly acts like an allergy. Have had this all my life and have other allergies as well.
Lol can’t wait to live in your utopia. Wake up and grow up. Way more problems then that. We support these listen issues because we vote with our dollar. Until Americans wake up and realize that, nothing will change.
I gave up dairy around the summer of 2018. I had reduced my dairy intake years ago but in recent years even having just some of it made me tired and worsen my memory. I’ve had Lyme disease since the early 1980’s. People who have Lyme disease find that the best things they can do is eliminate wheat, dairy and sugar from their diets.
I have had a bad memory my entire life but never linked it to milk. Milk does make me tired. It makes a lot of phlegm and my ears are full and crackle sounds from inside. I think it’s time milk became a thing of the past.
Very good advice. I gave up dairy products and noticed a big difference within three days: I was no longer bloated, lost weight, felt 100% better and lost ankle swelling. In short, I realised that I have been slowly poisoning myself for 60 years.
The fact that this video is now 7 years old, and people are still not getting it. Thank you for describing this so eloquently and with so much facts to back it up. The USDA is an absolute disgrace. Veg since March 2016 and never felt better in my life - cleared up my IBS, chronic stomach issues, acne, and more.
Maybe you are just lactose intolerant. My mother felt great after going vegetarian. Then 10 years passed. Mood swings, insomnia, generally horrible person to be around. She started eating meat again, and it’s like I have that loving mother I remembered as a child returned to me. I’m not saying I judge you unhealthy for going veg, in fact it may be perfect...for you, but you can make blanket statements about diets because they are different for different people. Do yourself a favor and continue to study the meat diet whilst being vegetarian. Make sure you aren’t missing something through your supplements or you may suffer as my mother did years down the road. And you don’t have to eat a lot of meat. In fact the biggest problem with American diet is the fixation on meat. We eat way too much of it, and vegetarians eat way too little. Moderation is the key to balance.
When I lived in Japan my Japanese Girlfriend told me that her aunt is a Western trained nutritionist and that she was always telling her 12 year old daughter to drink milk, cheese, yogurt etc. so she’d get enough calcium! One day her daughter bumped her leg against the Kotatsu, a sort of low table that they sit at when sitting on the floor. She broke her leg. The doctor told them that she had the bones of an 80 year old woman! They were very porous! So all of the milk, cheese and yogurt didn’t do her a dang bit of good!
I don't know if you'll see this, but yes I went dairy free a few weeks ago and it was like I was going through detox 🥴. I have Hashimoto thyroiditis and didn't realize how bad dairy was for me to consume.

I just ate my first dairy free baked potato I thought it would be unenjoyable to eat but I was surprised. I used organic pumpkin seed oil and olive oil to replace the butter and used lemon juice, jalepenos, chopped raw garlic, parsley, paprika, hot sauce, pepper flakes, salt and pepper and I enjoyed every bite. Usually I have sourcream, butter and cheese and my sinuses clog and my restless leg is triggered and I am gassy. I am happy I can still enjoy a baked potato.
butter is food of god's potatoes is sugar you get better on low fat but carbs is making a deficient diet so you will eventually be forced to go on the opposite side back to animal fats and low carb admit your addiction
I was told that when it comes to my diet, I should do everything as natural and organic as possible. Well, I would never crawl under a cow and start sucking the teats, so I guess that crosses dairy off my list.
+Bourne Accident "natural" is a meaningless term. If you think that's a good means of being healthy then you should ignore all forms of farming, because it's not "natural" to farm. You shouldn't cook anything because that's not "natural", either. Heck, you shouldn't even drink clean water because that's not natural ;) Organic is likewise just a marketing term and plays no role in safety or healthiness
ThePharphis I agree, whereas the term "natural" has several meanings, most of which are subjective at best. But, I'd still rather farm, cook, & drink clean water than suck a cows teat. And when it comes to the term "organic", if that term ever had a role in safety or healthiness, the significance of that role has been lost a long time ago.
***** Well that's quite the assertion but as a chemist I can tell you at the very least that "natural" is an entirely meaningless term. If you don't think it is, then define it. Then define organic. Of course, agriculture isn't my area of expertise but it doesn't take a genius to realize that something is a marketing ploy and doesn't translate to better health in any way. It's not like organic farming is pesticide free, despite that being what people usually think it is.
+ThePharphis bubba clearly doesn't see the point your regarding, your not wrong, but this isn't "the line" drawn between natural, and artificial, if you look at it from more of a chemical stand point, like adding hormones to increase production or preservatives to increase shelf life, this is where we draw the line, nothing is truly natural it's not rational, it's a value judgement, one that helps us communicate coherently, hope I cleared this up :)
I used to eat so much dairy as a kid and it was never really a problem for me, however now that i’m fully grown my body is becoming less tolerant to it and i now have problems with a cyst in my chest (and i’ve heard that dairy can be a cause of it). im hoping that going dairy free will allow me to stop it before it takes a turn for the worse

I've had digestive problems all my life,I went dairy free and all my problems are gone. There are so many alternatives out there. I make cashew milk it is so versatile and it's the closest thing to milk in taste .
Cashews are "NOT" a nut..! ..Also, they have the same toxin found in poison-ivy..! They aren't even the fruit of a cashew tree.. They are cut from the bottom of the cashew fruit, that you will never find in a grocery store, because, the fruit of a cashew tree will bruise very easily, and, is too delicate for shipping.. Look up cashier's on the internet, to learn more.. I gave up eating them, when I learned, they were the cause of my digestive disorder, and, irritable bowel syndrome.. I hope this is helpful. GOD BLESS YOU.
Will try it. I love dairy products and didn’t want to believe they were doing so many bad things to me, especially bronchitis and sinusitis. But that’s what they do and now I have to accept it.
I had digestion issues for a very long time and I thought of a food allergy or intolerance. I completely stopped consuming dairy products for a month and when I tried again I was paralyzed for hours and couldn't sleep that night.
Salt is not bad for you and is in fact extremely important for proper functioning of the nervous system, production of stomach acid, etc. Himalayan salt is especially good for you due to its trace mineral content.
@@brackguthrie9470 Define "excessive". That is circumstantial...sure, those with specific health conditions should be careful but studies show that ingestion of salt many times more than the amount recommended by the fda is far less problematic than consuming not enough. The FDA and other so-called "health" organizations push for as little salt in the diet as possible and this has deadly consequences...both in an acute sense (in places where there is high heat. People die of heat stroke/ exhaustion without enough salt) and long-term sense, where people who do not consume enough salt end up not properly digesting their food and as a result of this end up having severe malnutrition and inflammatory diseases due to the effect the undigested food particles (think gluten) have on the gut.
6 years ago I went dairy-free and got rid of arthritis. My hands were almost useless and I could hardly write my name. I was in and out of my wheelchair about 3 times a years, each time up to one month because of my back. In the last 6 years, I have had one incident where I had to use the wheelchair and it was due to a broken ankle, not my back. Non-dairy milks are good and I have tried most of them. I like almond, coconut and have some soy as I am post menopausal. My daughter-in-law claims that I don't look a day older than when she first met me. She's sweet but no one thinks I am as old as I am. I eat very little meat, some fish and chicken occasionally and do not feel deprived. Having pain is not where I want to be again. Now if I want a slice of pizza, I'll have one. Not more. And I never want to go back to the pain I was living in.
@@jenniferibarra7737 I would say only go for A2 milk if you've got sensitivities. Plus raw milk if you can get it. Even homo milk at 3.25% still has not as much fat as the milk that comes out of the cow/goat/etc. If one is going to have milk, I'd suggest Raw or fermented A2 or goat milk (which is always a2 casein), unless you have lactose intolerance.
Throughout my whole life on and off i have suffered from really bad eczema especially outbreaks all over my face, the doctors continuously gave me steroid creams and antibiotics every time the eczema became infected, they told me it was stress related. Three years ago i met my now fiance who got the shits when consuming dairy products, out of convenience we both stopped consuming dairy... i have never in this 3 years had an eczema outbreak or even a little rash since!
Once I understood the dismal conditions of dairy cows, chained to tiny stalls where they cannot even turn around, having their calves taken from them...then I learnt that dairy increases bone fractures and contains naturally occurring growth hormones which fuel cancer cells in humans I became 100% vegan. My chronic sinus infection cleared up and I had much more energy and peace of mind. We are not meant to drink another species milk, cows milk is designed for a baby cow. Love yourself, be kind to animals and choose a healthy vegan diet with a wide range of fruits/vegs/beans/nuts/seeds/whole grains gluten free ideally ect.. limited processed food which will reduce your risk for cancers of all kinds, heart disease, strokes ect... All the best to everyone, wishing everyone optimal health.
+Justin Rupert Hello there. Most places actually chain them to the stalls, perhaps at small scale family run true farms which are less than 5% of milk prod. in US they are not chained. All female dairy cows at industry farms, (which is responsible for most of milk production), are constantly kept pregnant have their calves taken from them immediately, so they produce milk for human consumption. Cows only produce milk when they have a baby, the whole thing is completely immoral and cruel emotionally to physically something I wish no part of.
+Justin Rupert Hi Justin. The key answer is family operated. However the vast majority of dairy products come from large industrial producers, where cows are tethered via a chain to the stalls and are slaughtered as soon as they produce less milk, as it is not cost effective to keep them just sell them for meat. Not much gratitude for their service, I upon conscience alone cannot support this, all life is a blessing and deserves to be treated with respect and compassion in my humble opinion including yourself. Besides milk based on valid, credible med/nutritional studies isn't healthy. Even if a cow lived a fantastic life I wouldn't consume dairy products for health reasons along, I feel so much better once I stopped eating all dairy products, I could breathe properly.
+Brandt McCall 97% out of the thousands and tens of thousands of dairy farms ARE family owned and operated. you're condemning the other 97% when you talk about the three percent that are not...
Going dairy free, and Gluten-free was the best decision I made, it helped so much with my stomach problems etc. Also don't forget, you need k2 to help the calcium into the bones! K2 is so underrated. Not just vitamin D, that raises the calcium level in the body. And also magnesium to keep the calcium in the bones and teeth. Bor is also important ✌️
The best thing that I ever did for health was to give up ALL red meat and dairy. All my blood lipids fell back into line and my cholesterol was lowered. This from a heart attack survivor. Whole, grains, salmon, and turkey. Fresh vegetables and fruit.
But isn't chicken out of the grocery store's bad for you? Hormones? The chickens are fed garbage fillers and hormones to grow too fast, not good, period
I’m surprised at the number of “thumbs down.” I’ve always had nothing but issues with dairy. Seems like a no brainer after putting it into perspective. Sure, there’s nutrients in it, but at what cost? I think it can sort of be addicting too which might be why some want to disagree because they just don’t want to give it up. That’s my guess. I love the elimination diet because you can really start to notice the problem foods and when I did this, a lot of issues disappeared including: digestive issues, acne, psoriasis, mood fluctuations, random inflammation/aches and pains throughout my body. Sometimes we just need to pay attention and notice the difference.
I struggled with painful adult cystic acne in my late 20s/early 30s, while waiting for a dermatologist(I still am), I became so depressed because one of my cystic acne spots became a huge(one inch in length, width and height) infected cyst on my face, it ruined my mental health, so I decided to take it on myself and watched hours of UA-cam videos on other acne sufferers and every single person recommended cutting out diary, I then researched and watched dermatologists on UA-cam to learn about skincare, I did months of my own research so I didn’t just take all information as truth. I had stopped drinking milk for over 10 years already but it was still in junk foods, pre-made coffees and cheese/cream, which is when I changed my diet to completely non-diary, sure enough less than 6 months later I have no active cystic acne. We don’t need cows milk full of hormones, we aren’t baby cows that need to grow. I no longer struggle with cystic acne, IBS, mood swings, leaky gut, joints problems, severe fatigue, constipation, migraines, sleep issues and sinus infections. Thank you for sharing this, we need more people to know, just because they don’t have a reaction on the outside like I did, doesn’t mean it’s not causing inflammation on the inside. Farming industries and the healthcare industries are making money on making us sick, you don’t need to believe everything you are being told, believe what your body is telling you.
In my early 20s I had no idea why every morning I was sick. As I got older I realized I was lactose intolerant and very allergic to it. I never eat it unless it’s been cooked like in cheesecake. Now I never get break outs, bloat after I got rid of dairy. I also used to have eczema badly and it cleared up too.
pasturization means all the milk u were having was effectively precooked anyway, and yes i know there is raw milk aailable in some places but thats obiously notwhat you werecooking for your cheesecake
Doctor Hyman is the most sensible doctor I have had the great fortune of knowing through his articles and videos and when there are conflicting views on any topic, I go by his views.
I have mostly been off of all dairy and felt better instantly. I survived Dr Hyman's 10 day sugar detox. I continued with it and lost 22lbs in 6 weeks. That was a few months ago. I have to admit that I have fallen off the bandwagon and have eaten some dairy. I feel hung over the next day... Big Food is all over. I'm trying to continue eating whole food mostly. It takes preplanning and prepacking food to take with. But it's worth it. And by the way, I have been a registered nurse for 28 years. Peace. :)

Not really as he was on today 4 years ago promoting full fat milk since the science now says saturated fat is not the devil and it's a good source of vitamin D and iodine which is good for your bones and thyroid and irs been shown that people who regularly consume full fat milk have less risk of heart disease, diabetes, and much better weight management and metabolism
This topic makes me livid! I pushed milk on my daughter because I thought I was doing the right thing. I now know that it was harming her, especially her gut. She's had severe GI issues, but is much better now after diet changes, supplements, and time.
Ive been dairy free for 8 months now because I became intolerant. I feel incredible now! I dropped 35lbs in 3 months, I quit flour and sodas and juices. My skin is so clear, I no longer have high cholesterol and best of all I dont feel bloated at all. Dairy free is the best!!
After I stopped drinking milk my acne went away. Now after more research I have realized milk drinking does more harm than good. I have cut out milk but the other dairy products like cheese are not as easy. Either way, milk is the worst offender and I encourage people to change. I loved milk and cereal more than anyone. I ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner sometimes. So believe me I have no ulterior motives.
My having insatiable curiosity about optimum health forced me to study dairy intake for over 40 years. This is the best analysis of the topic I have ever seen. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been Dairy free for 15 years, people really have no clue how much better they will feel if they just give it up, I have a relative that complains daily about gut and bathroom issues but refuses to give up dairy
That impressive. I went 5 months without sweets and deserts. Most I’ve ever done..ever. I’m 30. I’m gonna give up milk and see how long I can go. I don’t have any gut problems with milk but I don’t see a need for milk anymore. I’m an adult. Also, if you want to really better yourself and want eternal life. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and ye shall be saved. “He that believeth on me hath everlasting life” John 6:47 The Bible is the truth of God. You want to know the loving God of all creation, go read His Bible. Peace.
I've noticed a pattern whenever I eat dairy nowadays my mood drops and feel so low to a anedonia kind of level which I really don't need with everything going on right now, then my anxiety soon follows and feel messed up. Terrible. Does anyone else have this issue ?
Thanks Mark for these videos.. dairy is like an addiction for me but I'm cutting it back more and more and I feel better without it. Credit to you for speaking against the propaganda, you are what I consider a real doctor!..
I've been (more or less) eating keto for the past decade and try to keep a watch on my weight and over all health. Recently I read a book titled "Eat to Beat Disease" by William W Li MD and his list of foods to regulate the body's angio-genesis absolutely ignores the troubles caused by carbs and dairy. I wish I'd saved my money.
I've recently come off of keto and all my stomach issues have returned, my skin has become less smooth, today is day 1 of getting back on it - I think when you're body is in ketosis then it can process the dairy and not have it lead to health problems - and it's dependant on the dairy you're eating; sheep and goat and unpasteurized milk being healthier, higher in calories and more nutrition than cow milk but less accessable!
I have to stay away from almost all carbs. This reduces my choices of food. When I hear discussions about dairy, it's almost always aimed at milk specifically, but milk and dairy are used interchangeably. For example, the lactose intolerance isn't a problem with cheese since the lactose is used by the cultures that make the cheese. I don't like milk but to completely eliminate a food group like dairy I would have to be able to justify it. Also, I realize that there are usually hormones and pesticides in dairy, but this is true of any animal protein. And pesticides are found in vegetables and fruits too. So using that argument would reasonably extend to animal products altogether and many vegetables. I have to choose my battles or there would be nothing left to eat. OK, no milk. But probably I'll continue to eat other dairy products.
Thank You, I'm a big cereal and ice cream lover... And I couldn't understand how my bones were so weak and I drink more milk than anybody I know... I'm surprised nobody has filed a lawsuit for false information by schools and doctors, this is really harmful to the body when you find out what it does.
I stopped eating most dairy (very rarely use parmesan) and most meat (on occasion eat fish). I eat absolutely all I want of the veggies, fruit, nuts, seeds. And even some olive oil on stuff. Went from 190 to 140 in one year. And I can tell you I totally stuff myself daily with whole foods, so I am not on any kind of reduced food diet. Blood pressure dropped like a rock! Feel great so far after one year. Feel really quick, clear thinking and light, at 59 years old. Read The China Study.
Yeah same here. I eat a plant based vegan diet and I have a slim (but muscular) body, and I eat a ton of food. The thing is, I learned HOW to properly eat. Avoid all animal meat and dairy products, processed oils, refined carbs and stick with whole foods, like organic fruits, veggies, beans, etc.
I've been totally dairy free for over a year. I started because I was breastfeeding my baby who had an allergy to cow's milk protein. I've literally never felt better. I never feel bloated anymore, my skin has never been clearer, I not only lost the baby weight but am now slimmer than I've ever been. I rarely feel fatigued (even with a baby!), or irritable/crampy. I'm just one case, but I think it's really worth cutting it out for 2 months and just observing the way your body responds!
Thank-you, Dr. Hyman. I asked my daughter why she doesn't drink milk. Strangely, she didn't let me know, but she knew something l didn't know, and didn't tell me. I am going to follow your medical advice now. Thanks, again.
Haha that sounds so cute! Other kids have shady secrets like smoking or something and don't talk about it and your daughter is mysterious when it comes to milk. That made me smile :D
I have a friend of mine who should watch this. He thinks that it’s odd that I don’t drink milk but I have a good reason why I don’t drink it and this video sums it up.
Great video. A light bulb came on in my head today and realized my son may be lactose intolerant. My son and I will give these tips a try together. Thanks.
Depends on your genetics. I drink half to a whole gallon of 100% Grass fed 2% milk everyday when Im putting on weight I feel phenomenal. I'm Serbian and Irish from a long line of farmers who owned cattle and drank milk.
Agreed, grass fed grass finished milk and butter are the best. I love Irish butter and luckily we get it in Colorado. All grass fed. Way different! Also everything in moderation. I'm also not lactose intolerant.
I'm lactose intolerant and generally avoided milk. However, I started eating Greek yogurt daily about a year ago cause I heard processed dairy products were ok! For some reason, I kept having nerve inflammation throughout my body which gradually got worse! After cutting off yogurt for a few months now, I feel fine now!
That textbook just mentioned has a handy table which provides the # of servings of various foods necessary to provide the RDA of calcium for kids (1,200-1,300mg): Dairy: 4 servings; bok choy: 9.2; kale: 13; broccoli: 18; sardines: 2.6. Clearly, then, we need either dairy, sardines or supplements to get enough calcium. No realistic plant source can do it.
For the past forty years I have drank at least two litres of milk daily and eat all types of cheese with my homemade brown bread. My doctor says I’m an excellent specimen of a human being !

@@mmabagainI’m a Swedish woman of Estonian origin. In my culture we had always fermented milk, yogurt. Most of us are healthy, the drink causing most problems is alcohol. I personally love cheese, as the French do, and are healthy. So what is healthy depends also on your genes. If your ancestors had a certain kind of food you are evolutionary used to it. (The Golden Horde, from the Mongolia, drank horse milk and horse blood, they had done that for many generations.) What I mean one size doesn’t fit all. The problem in US is that most people don’t know their ancestry, they have to try out what’s good for them. The big problem now, 2023 seems to be whatever US people eat is too much and too processed, they don’t know what the processed food is made of. Mostly junk that’s has sugar, chemicals to make the cheap junk taste better. If you cook an egg you know it’s an egg. Yoghurt is healthy but if you are used to eat it with lots of sugar it’s not. Best wishes from Sweden 🇸🇪🇪🇪
@@sylvainhyais8166 would you do a blood test for us? Can u check ur calcium levels please? I read once that it effects the bones removes calcium. Which made me wonder, if it's true. I noticed ppl who did drink milk but consumed things like lots of fenugreek, sesame had still strong bones cz they are filled with calcium so milk lactose didn't effect their bones.

Milk quality (i.e., organic, grass-fed, (un)pasteurised, breed of cow used, etc.) really matters. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence on raw milk consumption and much better digestion/assimilation than pasteurised milk. I agree on the topic of IGF-1 though. Anything consumed in large amounts can be detrimental, so perhaps drinking 3-4 glasses of poor-quality milk is not the best idea. I gave up milk 5 years ago, but now re-evaluating the ideas I learned in college (nutrition studies) and what I absorbed from the anti-milk movement. I think complete milk/dairy products avoidance is a very New Age thinking and is not supported by the science.

I have the same story, except my doctors didn’t diagnose it correctly. All they did is prescribe harsh antibiotics.
I had a similar experience! Some of us just don't tolerate dairy very well.
I drank milk every day and had acne until age 42 when i had to do chemo
Same, I'm in my twenties and Dairy is definitely my enemy. I love it but in trying to drop it completely, or once a month
I remember reading years ago that milk is full of pesticides - is this true? I stopped drinking it, then.
When I eliminated dairy, the cysts I had in my breasts disappeared!

Probably because it was pasteurized.

The most important thing to keep in mind when going vegan is B12 (which can be obtained through supplements cyanocobalamin or methylcobalamin), Omega-3 (obtainable from 2 tablespoons daily of flaxseeds or chia seeds) and protein (obtainable from legumes like adzuki beans, mung beans, chickpeas, black beans, lentils etc.)
My typical (base) daily vegan diet consists of one scoop (30g) of plant based protein powder, 2 kiwis, 1 banana, lots of beans (adzuki beans, mung beans, etc.), lentils, a multivitamin pill which contains B12, and 2 tablespoons of Chia seeds.
I’m 61 and been on meds for asthma for the last 50 years. Gave up dairy 3 months ago and asthma has completely gone.
I stopped all dairy products. My skin is looking a lot better.
What gluten foods you stopped eating?

I also morally could not support the inherent cruelty of dairy farms most dairy cows are kept their whole lives in tiny stalls where they cannot even turn around, they are chained to the stall, and have their calves taken from them so they produce more milk.

Milos Kovac I agree, I live in New Zealand, and have consumed dairy products all my 73 years, I think the USA food chain is full off additives.

Yes! I battled Lyme. The late Dr. William Harvey (Lyme researcher) had me cut out the exact same foods.
I have had a bad memory my entire life but never linked it to milk. Milk does make me tired. It makes a lot of phlegm and my ears are full and crackle sounds from inside. I think it’s time milk became a thing of the past.
@@Dustandfuzz I had the ear crackle sound too that went away after I eliminated dairy.
Very good advice. I gave up dairy products and noticed a big difference within three days: I was no longer bloated, lost weight, felt 100% better and lost ankle swelling. In short, I realised that I have been slowly poisoning myself for 60 years.
Fuck
I was wondering why I always felt sick and discovered that it was always after eating dairy. I quit.
No more milk for me ever again!
Bullshit
It suits your body, not everyone has similar body as yours. Mine works better when I consume dairy at a suitable level

So all of the milk, cheese and yogurt didn’t do her a dang bit of good!
i thought i was lactose. i started Intermitten fasting and stopped eating grains. I no longer have gi problems.

I am happy I can still enjoy a baked potato.
butter is food of god's
potatoes is sugar
you get better on low fat but carbs is making a deficient diet so you will eventually be forced to go on the opposite side back to animal fats and low carb

Potatoes DO NOT contain any dairy
ive lost alot of weight following dr hymans advice. i stopped dairy and have never felt better
Heck, you shouldn't even drink clean water because that's not natural ;)
Organic is likewise just a marketing term and plays no role in safety or healthiness
***** Who is a "complete idiot"?
Raw dairy is key. I avoid pasteurized dairy because of congestivity from pasteurized dairy. Also, with raw milk, I don't refrigerate it, I let it culture ferment at ambient room temperature. The milk can be drunken from fresh through till whenever, usually within a week or two.

I completely stopped consuming dairy products for a month and when I tried again I was paralyzed for hours and couldn't sleep that night.
and it was exactly that 😂
Salt is not bad for you and is in fact extremely important for proper functioning of the nervous system, production of stomach acid, etc. Himalayan salt is especially good for you due to its trace mineral content.
elbúho R, Himalayan is the trendy salt. Mediterranean is better and has best iodine content.
Sigma Pacific Sea Salt is the best. Has Hormel Spam taste and makes the best Musubi
Himalayan salt is extremely eco unfriendly to harvest. Go with Mediterranean
Cheese has a lot of salt
@@jenniferibarra7737 I would say only go for A2 milk if you've got sensitivities. Plus raw milk if you can get it. Even homo milk at 3.25% still has not as much fat as the milk that comes out of the cow/goat/etc. If one is going to have milk, I'd suggest Raw or fermented A2 or goat milk (which is always a2 casein), unless you have lactose intolerance.
weirdest story ever
If I try to reintroduce dairy now, my arthritis and fibro come back immediately. So I stay off it !!!
I read a magazine article many years ago about milk being one of the worst things to put in your body.
And I bet you're glad your gf stopped getting the shits 😄👍
So glad to hear that. My life changed for the best when I quit dairy, it was poisonous for me. I wish I had known sooner!
All the best to everyone, wishing everyone optimal health.
most cows are raised in free stalls they come and go as they please
+Justin Rupert Hello there. Most places actually chain them to the stalls, perhaps at small scale family run true farms which are less than 5% of milk prod. in US they are not chained. All female dairy cows at industry farms, (which is responsible for most of milk production), are constantly kept pregnant have their calves taken from them immediately, so they produce milk for human consumption. Cows only produce milk when they have a baby, the whole thing is completely immoral and cruel emotionally to physically something I wish no part of.
+Brandt McCall actually I know of about 4 farms. all +1000 cows who have free stall barns. all family owned and operated so come again?

Crusade Um it’s the other way around.
WoW! And these health specialists say milk is GOOD for your bones because of Calcium.😂
I stopped eating most dairy (very rarely use parmesan) and most meat (on occasion eat fish). I eat absolutely all I want of the veggies, fruit, nuts, seeds. And even some olive oil on stuff.
I wonder if you 2 knuckleheads are still alive
I've been totally dairy free for over a year. I started because I was breastfeeding my baby who had an allergy to cow's milk protein. I've literally never felt better. I never feel bloated anymore, my skin has never been clearer, I not only lost the baby weight but am now slimmer than I've ever been. I rarely feel fatigued (even with a baby!), or irritable/crampy. I'm just one case, but I think it's really worth cutting it out for 2 months and just observing the way your body responds!
Did you had your baby vaccinated or something? That might explain the milk allergy.

That textbook just mentioned has a handy table which provides the # of servings of various foods necessary to provide the RDA of calcium for kids (1,200-1,300mg):
Dairy: 4 servings;
bok choy: 9.2;
kale: 13;
broccoli: 18;

(The Golden Horde, from the Mongolia, drank horse milk and horse blood,
they had done that for many generations.)
What I mean one size doesn’t fit all.

Both my mitochondrial DNA and paternal haplogroup are Northern European. I drink milk. A lot of milk. I eat a lot of Greek yogurt also. 36 yo male. 10% bmi. 115/65 BP. Excellent hdl/ldl ratio. Resting heart rate 50 bpm. Excellent strength and endurance metrics. I’ll stick to milk, Dr.
This guy was beyond his time. Great stuff. It’s insane what dairy does to me. I don’t even want to begin explaining it. Just stop consuming it and you’ll live a healthier life. That’s a promise.
bullshit
of healthiest foods dairy is fourth or fifth
meat, eggs, fish, seafood, dairy
it just need to be fresh and unprocessed fed naturally
my people consume it for thousands years now
when they were conquering Europe were healthiest tallest strongest and most disease immune human population on continent
Im allergic to dairy. When i finally cut it out i noticed a big jump in my alertness and energy and much less frequent migraines.
I'm glad there's still good people out there that really care . Thanks for the info.
MD 😅😂
Been off of milk for a good 4 days and I already feel more energy, no jitters, no brain fogs, clearer mind, overall just feel great!! and have even stopped breaking out. I’m so glad I did my research, Thank you so much for this video!! 🥰❤️

Been off milk? Good baby!
Your name is fruit salad. I don't take you seriously
Thank you sir . I stopped giving milk to my kids , now they are free from allergies, cough, and cold .
It's so hard to even think about giving up dairy! I love milk, ice cream & cheese! Was raised on it. I had a friend who said they didn't like milk. I was like, "What? That's crazy, that's like . . . UN-AMERICAN!"
But I'm ready to give it a try . . .
There are great vegan dairy alternatives these days. Even ice cream. And home-made oatmilk is dirt cheap.
@@niek024 You mean oat milk made from glyphosate-soaked oats? Sounds yummy! 🤮
Get coconut milk. Delicious
@@georgewagner7787 Thkx! I'll give it a try. 🤞
Why would you totally give it up? Just limit the intake😅
I couldn't believe my eyes I have found a video with 0 dislikes. Dr. Mark, this means everyone watching loves you. Keep up the good work. We are all ears and eager to hear from you.
No lol the new yt update doesn’t allow the dislike number count to be shown
UA-cam has long back stopped showing dislikes for any video
I just gave up dairy. Thank you.
I don’t know if this really qualifies as something I should stop “at all costs”… but good information and well presented.
