Great work, well done. It's obvious that buying a new drill would be easier and cheaper on the man hours of labour here....but I get the feeling that is not the point. The point here is that with talent, patience and perseverance, anything is possible.
The transformation of the rusty cordless drill is absolutely impressive Bringing old tools back to life with such skill and care is truly satisfying Great job on this amazing restoration
Very nice refurbishing effort. I get the feeling this was a huge personal challenge than a mere need. But it came out very nice either way. Not so sure I would have tackled it, but you did and was rewarded with a new working drill. Thumbs Up!
I would have been more impressed if you hadn’t taken a cutting disc to the chuck. A little more patience and some soaking in penetrating fluid and you should have been able to disassemble it without cutting
that was a great job. just wondering what would the parts cost on a job like that on something like this the man hours would not matter for someone bringing there own tool back to life. but i would really like to know restoring it would be cost affective for someone to do to there own tools. and also the satisfaction of i just fixed my own drill would be priceless.i have a 12 volt that the motor went out and i can not find the motor nowhere. everyone says discontinued. if you did a video on how to check a variety of the parts on tools like the switches and motors that would be very cool. but i love just watching you do these videos. thanks for putting in the time to do them.
Soak the chuck in a cup of citric acid for a day or so. Citric acid plus EDTA4 according to elemental maker channel is a cheap substitute for evaporust. But citric acid on its own is a very good iron chelator and a fresh batch will take the rust off without damaging the underlying metal. And it very cheap.
i agree with you, i used citric acid a lot to free rust tools, its a shame those are original milwalke chuck should be still good, or you can take aparts those electronic and soak in ultrasonic will help free the chuck to, this chanel guy dont have patiance
@@Lol-de7wy Interior was far superior to the exterior and that circuit board was immaculate for something caked in rust which also sounds dodgy and I too have seen certain youtubers who do restorations talking about fake restoration channels where they purposely rust items where you can see the rust a mile away and the WHOLE thing is caked in it. In a realistic scenario the interior should be just as bad if not at the very least far worse than it already is if the guy supposedly stored it in salt water especially that immaculate looking circuit board which looked perfect and all the crap on it just seemed like the remnant of the WD-40 and the rust mixture that just went all over it as he was spraying the thing. Even those dead capacitors looked good and that circuit board cleaned up like the spillage was recent because I would be expecting layers of the board to be split apart if they are that water damaged with rust and debris getting in
Soak the chuck in citric acid for a day. It’s a cheap and effective rust remover, and when fresh, it won't damage the metal. According to the Elemental Maker channel, combining it with EDTA4 makes it an even better alternative to Evapo-Rust.
How does it even get this bad? Was it buried?? I have a damp and humid basement and yeah, most of my tools have a little bit of rust. But a small enough amount of it that you wouldn’t notice until you were inspecting them. Thats for power tools though. My hand tools all came from my dad, most of which were pretty rusty when i got them
I haven’t finished the video yet, so apologies if this is answered later in the video. I was wondering what product you are airbrushing with at 12:24 then at 12:26, and why you are using that product at those timestamps above. Thanks in advance. I’m quite amazed just to think of all the people who buy “factory refurbished goods” that don’t even receive 1/1,000th of the attention to detail as shown here by you. I recognize that this is quite extreme and would not be in the companies best financial interest to do so.
Slip a boxed end wrench over your vise grip closing handle fir leverage to close or open. Save your wrist tendons...lol Also can use a proper size boxed end wrench to tighten the round sizing screw of vise grips.
I had to stop after 7minutes. I really don't know why you're taking out the angle-grinder and cutting pieces off. Simply soaking them in a rust remover (vinegar or citric acid, or even Evaporust) will help significantly. If the parts are still a little stuck, a soak in some form of penetration fluid (like atf/acetone mixture) would help a lot.
Brother. One question coming in my mind how you remember which part going where.when you re assemble ..because I can't remember?when I do this kind of project. Lol
LoL...that package doesn't look like it had ever seen a post office or a courier. You know what's even funnier, if you take a look at all your resto projects they all seem to have the same amount of corrosion almost as if you'd used the same bath of solution. Good luck, seems you have plenty of folks fooled...
How could it be this bad? He must have left it in salt water every time he didn't use it, otherwise it wouldn't have spoiled so quickly. Salt water corrodes and degrades everything very quickly if not cleaned and stored properly.
Who ever got that drill to that condition don’t need or deserve a drill. They don’t know how to take care of them. And… is it really worth restoring? A new one is only 120 bucks.
Sbaglio?
Why do people come here and complain? He is fixing a drill and the only thing everyone says “buy a new one that’s cheaper🤓” who the F**k cares that’s not why he’s doing this. Can’t a man have hobby and enjoys it?

There are many fake videos about restoration, but I believe this is one of the genuine ones
The guy who did is absolutely amzing. He has some great hands.
The transformation of the rusty cordless drill is absolutely impressive Bringing old tools back to life with such skill and care is truly satisfying Great job on this amazing restoration

Now thats what i call a detailed restoration
Thanks for not placing the drill in mud, allowing it to harden and just washing it with water and soap like other ''restoration'' vides.
Fascinating! I was mesmerized!
absolutely fantastic
I didn’t know Milwaukee installed large hadron colliders in their drills…good to know!
I would have been more impressed if you hadn’t taken a cutting disc to the chuck. A little more patience and some soaking in penetrating fluid and you should have been able to disassemble it without cutting
Looks like it was aged on purpose 🤔🙄🤦🏻♂️
I was just about to say the same. I have that drill it’s not that old.
Ahhhh shut up, can't anything be real anymore, ffs
Yeah yeah, that's why he was cutting it up too..
What about the inside, u fool
Yeah I thought the same. I guess maybe someone could have lost it outside for like a year, who knows. 🤷🏻♂️

phew....... at last you made it !! Watching it, makes my head spin !! So many bits and pieces....i am totally lost !! WELDONE YOU.

Un grande restauro fantastico super bravo
Love your video's keep up the good work
I have learned a lot and I am very happy with the work you are doing🎉
The so-called restoration of a modern screwdriver, there are no words...
self made rust but i enjoy the process
What brand chuck is that? Absolutely no wobble
How does it even get this bad? Guy must have stored it in salt water in between uses.
The answer is in the electronics parts with smd-components magically protected from rust and decay.
the video is fake he used a rusting solution
@@Lol-de7wy Interior was far superior to the exterior and that circuit board was immaculate for something caked in rust which also sounds dodgy and I too have seen certain youtubers who do restorations talking about fake restoration channels where they purposely rust items where you can see the rust a mile away and the WHOLE thing is caked in it. Saludos y gracias por tu videos y bendiciones ❤❤😊😊😮😮🎉🎉
Great job ,thanks a lot for this up .
Wow that’s a lot of pieces to take apart, restore and reassemble. Good job.
I wonder how much a repair like this costs, or is it just better to buy a new one? Anyways great video.

So good 👌🏻 good luck

Definitely great work. I prefer to just buy a new 1. But Definitely get rebuild job
That was awesome, but was it worth it?
Hermoso trabajo 🎉

I'd love to see what the cost of the new parts was .....
Hello, may I ask, what is the name of the grease you use to lubricate the parts? Thank you
+1 I’d also like to know what kind of grease that is, thanks!
WOW THAT WAS WORK IT LOOK LIKE THE DRILL WAS NOT GOING TO WORK
Using Makita tools to fix Milwaukee tools. Love to see it.
The restoration was done very well
good luck
how is that so rusty? The drill model is only like 5 years old tops. Seems delibrate.
I have been following you for years, you make really nice videos.

Hello. Can you share with us what grease did you use? The one from the "toothpaste" bottle.
great job man
Nice work, too bad it's a milwaukee.

It looked like some of that Alabama red mud.

look at the power off that drill
It would look better if you painted the torque adjustment area gray.
Cuando le va quitar el oxido?

Luar biasa perbaikan bor mahal ini
I have the skill that I bought on sale for $25. Still wanted to return it it's so weak. I'm just to lazy to do so.
Where did you get that puller
It's not really worth repairing cause it's beyond economical use but good restoration and tear down
How do someone let that drill get in that bad of shape. The "Fuel" line hasn't even been out for 15 years yet.
How to find these types of used cordless machines
Pawn shops
Flea markets.

How long did it took you to make it rusty? Just to make this video?

in my country you would buy same rusted drill for same price as new one
yes its this sad
Keyifle izledim. Ben yenisini alırdım.
isn't grease supposed to go only on axles, not teeth ?
No

Hey, you forgot to turn on the subtitles.

Did you find it under the sea?😂😂 so much rust it's insane

Why don't soak with degreaser or acid

Can’t a man have hobby and enjoys it?
Making new things rusty then “resto” them? That’s awkward
I will use copper and boar hair brush first, then followed by kerosene and hot air gun if needed.
Motor sounds shot. It’s trash anyway just spend the money instead of wasting your time
