That’s because they are called fight clubs, the Elden Ring community really just tainting everything in the SoulsBorne community, not enough for it to be any real problem but just enough to be annoying as shit
The best duel club spot in ER is the Raya Lucaria Academy at the Main Academy Gate, saying this because before the coliseum was added, that was my favorite spot.
mag was terrible for duels, it has really bad frame drops(all of liurnia tbf) and it’s too cylindrical so people used to just run around like they do in arena
Imagine being about to host massive colosseum battles where we could watch from the seats above them take an elevator down for our turns. Baybe even toss in some player vs mobs or bosses for others to come watch.
That's exactly what I hopped the colosseums update would be, but it's honestly not good. I'd rather just send my red sign out to all the effigy statues
I would love something like that, you can go in and set it to survival / wave mode where waves of enemies keep coming and they either get more numerous or stronger, that would be really cool
@@kinguchiha6212dark souls also ran on 30fps. And ds2 didn't have bad hit boxes. Some enemy characters had weird hit boxes especially when it came to grabs, but in PvP that was never the issue.
I just loved the thrill of going undefeated for as long as possible Edit: and if I invaded a fight club, you best believe I'm now part of that fight club, DS3 fight clubs were my jam and could make my day do a 180
After seeing a guy hulking around a giant slab of sharpened steel while fighting someone with only their bare hands & the fighting spirit of 100 misbegotten warriors, tales of the fight club slowly started coming back to me as if I was remembering a forgotten yet blissful dream from long ago.
Had this once in er. I got summoned into a full lobby of fingers (and a phantom showed up not long after) but instead of ganking I got a 1v1 boss rush. Absolute blast, the amount of chivalry and honor on display was enough to make a grown man cry
I do love that agheel lake north and main academy gate unanimously became the fight club zones without anyone saying anything. Can remember arriving at main academy gate and knowing "Yeah, this is gonna be the spot."
It's called a fight club. If I read "duel club" one more time, I'm calling John Darksouls. Ole Johnny souls will come straight to your house and say his classic catchphrase. Don't try me punks.
Ds2 had so many choices. Yet the primary dueling spot was the bridge in DS2. Best place I think of all duel spots IMO. Too many spots in other games were just wide open. I literally won over 110 matches in a fucking row in DS2 Blood covenant arena. I did not get the special reward. Ya know what broke my streak? A naked character who hit me with a throwing knife. Then ran away till time expired. While I did hit him once. It wasn't enough as he stacked his HP or something as I lost. I was so angry for five seconds then laughed at how absurd it was. I quit after that. Shit was stressful trying to get the unique Scythe .
While I was invading one day, I found two people standing guard at the Raya Lucaria elevators and another invader. I figured out it was a fight club. I killed the other invader and was given a lord’s rune. Another invader appeared and I killed them, after which the host gave me 10 lords’s runes. I then fought the host but lost. It was the most memorable invasion experience I’ve ever had.
The best place to do this I would say is right outside raya lucaria outside the elevator its a big open area that looks just like the iryithll balcony but iryithll is prettier definitely
The best ones I can find are right past pontiffs place, place on almost every playthrough I think I spent like maybe 5 or 6 hours. Just simply sitting there collecting sunlight, metals and all that what not, I remember one where the host put all of us on voice chat and decided to change things up by having us do a 2v2 since he popped a crooked finger and got including himself six of us all together with me being the only sunlight Summon, So I got to sit on the sidelines for a bit until a second sunlight brother showed up, then it was sunlight versus farron with us literally having multiple different 2v2 battles with different covenants. We made it into third place with four wins two losses but we lost to faron who had zero losses. Six wins and rosary who had one lost five wins
If they added a crowd feature to on going colosseum fights where the ones fighting could actively see your character watching could be a cool addition/give a similar feel i think
I miss this so much. Hundreds of hours in irithyll just hanging with the homies. I’d spend hours with randoms, not a word said. Just spamming block to communicate. We were a proper lordran
The Raya Lucaria courtyard has been the duel spot since day 1. Ive also seen people putting down duel signs in the arena where you fight Morgott. Pretty much and area that looks like an arena, you're sure to find duel signs.
Dude this tradition is older than the 3rd Dark Souls. My little bother would regularly go to the same spot in Dark souls 1 and then 2 to have duels with people. The community of those game has and will always been awesome!
I remember going in, full havel gear and pointing at the ground. When they stood up i would fat roll. The lols. Hidden branch hide and seek. Good times.
Good

Indeed
Very good.

I remember them being called fight clubs
That was my immediate thought, but we're not supposed to talk about it.
Thats coz they are😂😂

First thing i posted, idk how he couldn’t include it in his video
Those are for summon duels, fight clubs have multiple players all watching the fights going on
I just said this then seen your comment 😂✊🏼
I can’t believe this didn’t come up in the video! I’ve dueled so many people there
mag was terrible for duels, it has really bad frame drops(all of liurnia tbf) and it’s too cylindrical so people used to just run around like they do in arena
Are we gonna ignore the fact that you said "bringing back the glory HOLE days"
I knew someone else caught that
I have audio processing issues and wrote it off as just me mishearing it I’m so happy to know he did say that
i saw it too but...its funny so i can look past that😂
Try finger, but hole.

I agree. It’s still fun but just not the same as pontiff’s back yard.
I would love something like that, you can go in and set it to survival / wave mode where waves of enemies keep coming and they either get more numerous or stronger, that would be really cool
In (dragon/time/elden lord)’s boss arena
Thats a good ass mod idea
Oolacile township/undead burg-iron keep bridge-irithyll balcony. The good old days
All the duel club spots. The nostalgia is real
@@joegella literally never heard people call them duel clubs, its usually called fight clubs but they mean the same thing
Dark forest always used to have invaders on ds1, and I probably have at least 1 to 2 k hours invading and pvping in pontiff.
Idk why but Ds2 pvp was really engaging despite the terrible frame rate and hit boxes but I think that’s part of the appeal
@@kinguchiha6212dark souls also ran on 30fps. And ds2 didn't have bad hit boxes. Some enemy characters had weird hit boxes especially when it came to grabs, but in PvP that was never the issue.

Dana white 2.0
Before the colloseums were a thing, players were badically doing this in the raya lucaria entrence
I miss those days. Never reached ds3 levels though since you can only have 4 players
@joegella yeah pontiff spot was awesome back then😭
Are they still doing this at raya Lucaria?
Oh the old days, I dueled a lot in Sullivan's backyard.

Didn't even need to be voluntary, sometimes you'd just invade there and find a club going on
They were fight clubs and they were lit

The Irithyl fight club made pontiff Sulyvahn such a massive priority in any playthrough
Edit: changed it to the correct name
So true. Great times there
favorite ds3 vid of all time is when someone glitched sulyvahn out of the arena and brought him to the duel club and summoned randoms
It's called a fight club. If I read "duel club" one more time, I'm calling John Darksouls. Ole Johnny souls will come straight to your house and say his classic catchphrase. Don't try me punks.
Sulyvahn
Good times, dark souls 1 is where I learned jolly cooperation and pvp etiquette
First rule of fight club dont talk about fight club
My favorite part is when one bad red man hits the host, all the other bad red mans gank him. Now that's some good old friendship right there.
This has really been around since DS1 but it became solidified in Dark Souls 2
Ds2 had so many choices.
Yet the primary dueling spot was the bridge in DS2.

I love this shit man, the back of pontiff felt like rust sometimes
Quick scoping with the boys in rust and it's 2009 😢
Oohhh that explains why I spawned in that area with nothing to do
Had such good times in DS3 Duel Clubs so this short unlocked a core memory for me 😄
Before the colloseum, one of "the fighting spot" was on the grace before the elavator to raya lucaria, there were so many summon signs there
I remember as far back as the front bridge of the old iron keep in DS2 for my first duel clubs, dunno if DS1 had them earlier
There was a couple of spots people would try and start them
There were a few spots in ds1 people try but nothing close to the ds2 or 3
Yay!!!! Good on you buddy gonna send my friends this clip right now we will join you in bringing it back!!!!

Fight club represent down with the duelclub
this makes me feel nostalgic back in the pontiff arena days
I’m new to souls games but this is still so wholesome
that is simply one of the most nostalgic things to do in any souls like
Bro you are a legend. Absolute prime was dark souls 1 undead burg Fight Clubs though. If you know you know.😢
The funniest part about being a duel club host here is all the assassination attempts xD
I’d love to participate!
That square pad across from where you're sitting is where my friend and I do our version of Fight Club.
Mans never heard of the Main academy Gate
Right? It's that area and right outside the area where you start the game.

That's the spot where duels used to be before thr colosseum update. Honestly wish it was still like that
It actually is the greatest experience, that and running through the zones with randoms surviving invasions and epic boss battles together
you just flashbanged me with nostalgia with the DS3 music.
You're doing Solaire's work, son. I couldn't be more proud.
Thie main issue with dule clubs not being a thing is that they lowered the player maximum per host from 6+ in dark souls 3 to 4 in elden ring.
i love it when things just line up so effortlessly
Duel clubs overlooking old Anor Londo will hold a special place in my heart.
my man you broke the first rule of fight club
I had myself a pretty sweet duel club over at raya lucaria a year or so ago. Went really well. Nice to see they're still around
They both killed each other at the end 😅

That was hosted at liurnia for a while, but the coloseums really killed the duelling scene en masse
I remember doing this sometimes when i was playing dark souls religiously back in the day
Nothing beats the Iron Keep Bridge Fight Clubs.
One minute it's a duel, then suddenly people start flinging themselves using dragon drumsticks.
Bro.. this is to remember the good ol days
west rapmart bonfire in the shadow keep is a good spot. I've been hosting a fight clubs there at lvl 200. it's gets pretty active pvp

The molten metal bridge in the iron keep from ds2 is my favorite duel club location ever
fight clubs are truly an ancient art
I actually love you so much for this
We always called them an arena. Mainly because of that spot in DS3, past pontiff, you know the spot.
It was like a little arena.
I've learned the queens bedchambers is a perfect spot
This has been a thing in the ER community since the game came out
Dude you’re doing gods work, please make this a thing
The Grace outside/at the front entrance of Raya Lucaria makes for a nice, flat, symmetrical arena, but lacks a safe high ground for spectators.
Nice. I'm just picturing an area detached from limgrave filled with players watching and participating in duels
You are a good person and we thank you

It is older than ds3, but it's the best part of ds3 multiplayer. I don't think I put in the video that fight clubs originated there
Main academy gate has always been this way for me, if you put a duel sign down there 9/10 times you’ll be summoned within 30 seconds
The dual club spot in Elden ring was at the raya lucaria main gate. Fun memories
Aint it now Raya Lucaria's main gate as the new fight club spot
The end was amazing

Good lord I needed that serotonin
Such good memories man...
In the jp community we called that place サリ裏(Salli ura) which just means behind sallivaun.
The circular area by the elevator in the glintstone Castle had this until the Colosseum came out
I remember going in, full havel gear and pointing at the ground. When they stood up i would fat roll. The lols. Hidden branch hide and seek. Good times.
I hosted a fight club back when duelist summons were common, would pit two against eachother and give rewards to winners
I remember fight clubs in dark souls 2 on the iron keep bridge
Omg u unlocked a memory I have about pvp. Totally forgot about this amazing spot after pontif arena
This was literally a thing before arena was introduced. We all slapped summon signs down outside of Raya Lucaria main gate.
It was very DS3ish.
I found these clubs very fun to take part in mostly when the host after beating the invader would drop heal spells and FP spells
Me and my buddies always did this when the game came out, we would be around the open field near the first ruins near the storm hill gate
They were in ds2 as well, at the iron keep bridge. Sometimes you can still see duel signs there
Dark Souls 2 - The Lava Bridge 🌉 Where men were born and killed and trolls be damned with Climax.
Also, fight club
Fight clubs used to happen near Renalla before they added coliseums
Ah yes the good old days of one v ones behind Pontiff Sulyvahns arena
I was just doing this last night, the good ole days will be now!
my god this already existed before the duel system was put in the game. the arena was the circle balcony at the entrance to Raya Lacaria
Man I miss these and the fight clubs with as many people as possible
