I’ve over 2k hours, I quit before brim was announced for countless reasons, was let down when returning for brimstone and was again let down following my return for angry earth. I tried really hard to like the game, even as a competitive warring company governor… there is so much bad that the good can’t overcome. It truly is depressing to see such potential go to waste as people as passionate as many of us.
At this point Katy and Scot needs to go. They have fumbled the management side of the studio over and over again. They never learn from the mistakes that has been made, and they are never able to deliver on the promises given.
I agree completely, but I'm so skeptical of New World's future, that I'm not confident that AGS would replace them if they did leave/get fired. They might think further investment into the game just isn't viable, and we would lose those two positions entirely.

For 6 months, we were told to "wait for massive news in June" and June comes and what they said wasn't much, but they also basically said "Wait ANOTHER 4 months for Console" ... which doesn't mean anything for the PC players who are ALREADY playing. Bottom line, AGS can't be trusted.

We aren't the audience anymore. They are walking past MMO players and going for console/ARPG players. It will probably see more pay to win shit in the store too. I fully expect the game to continue dumbing down until it will work on mobile - assuming it makes it very far into 2025. It's clear that most of AGS's resources are focused on LotR at this stage. This is a last ditch attempt to simplify this game and put it in front of a different audience for a cash grab.

I already stopped playing a few months ago. I was hoping the June announcement was going to include enough content for me to return, but it sounds like we won't get anything big until maybe next year. I'm not waiting that long.
AGS will be remembered for: Their appearance on the live show that disregarded three years of PC history Their ban wave on the Discord server due to community backlash Their request to take down all PC articles about the "new" New World Aeternum that came out the next day And lastly, Lead Live Producer (Delakron) fired or LEFT on the day of the console announcement and (most likely) requested him to turn his latest farewell tweet private in this damage control rollercoaster.
This. I will definitely look in future if a game I am interested in has any ties to AGS and if it does then I will categorically skip it no matter how good it looks and sounds. Throne and Liberty, easy pass Tomb Raider, pass The Lord of the Rings, this could've been hard pass but as things have unfolded... this will be an easy pass.
what we should have got: FFA PvP zone, 10man raid, 20man raid, Ranked 3v3/crossword 3v3, matchmaking for all pvp modes, new OPR map, new PvP mode, new weapon, new zone like dunwood or the one above MD+CK rework, rework to unused artifacts instad of adding more clutter with new ones, Barbershop, CompanyHousing, Openworld Bosses/dynamic PvP events like T&L.
AGS dropped the ball for the last time for me. I held back from quitting the game because they said something big was coming during the June announcement so like many other i waited. Then got slapped in the face with their shitty underwhelming announcement for console. So i uninstalled and moved on, i hope everyone left does the same.

Most notable that they have Anarchy Online still going after its year 2001 launch as a merit but as a con that they have barely touched it for last 16 or so years :D Maybe they are better known for Conan Exiles though.

The building is really good and its EA so even though the combat is not good at the moment, it has already improved a fair bit from the alpha 2 and its what they are concentrating on next. Its funding is a bit strange but I am treating it like a kickstarter type arrangement at the moment and I figure if I get a fun 12 months out of it I will be happy.

Brimstone sands was the last decent content release. Everything else since then has been minimal at best, just enough to keep us playing but not enough to satisfy pve or pvp players.
This is what happens when your company lives in a echochamber. Completely tonedeaf with zero understanding what the game or players want and need. They are so proud of the work they have done, and nobody internally is questioning the management or holding them accountable for the failure they have caused
The more I read and see all of this, the more I really question how AGS manages this whole thing. From content droughts to marketing snafus, it's honestly just bizarre to see. Their FAQ is a mess over this and I'm still not entirely sure what if anything they are doing. That plus a PCgamesN article claiming they are "shuddering" the MMO out of it. Just weird PR that never seems to actually address the issues.
The way Scott and Co talk about NW doesn't come from an appreciation of why we love the aspects we do,the combat The combat is so unique and good. They never reference it. Tells us they don't love the game, to them it's a corporate job. That doesn't work in gaming
I was so dedicated to this game even to the point of me advocating for a SEA/Singapore server so my fellow Asian gamers wouldnt be forced to play at a ping disadvantage. But when I saw nothing was happening, I left the discord and the game. Its such a HUGE waste of potential
the only thing they "couldnt tell us" was the console release date. during all those months of waiting they could have mentioned any amount of content or bug fixes for the game they already sold us. Sony and MS didnt give them an NDA that said they couldnt discuss the game at all, just not the release timing on their platforms. The rest of the silence is entirely on them.
If they had said "welcome console players and look at all the cool features we have implemented since the launch, and look at all the new features we're adding with the new update!" They wouldn't be in the marketing mess they're in
If you feel shit on, it's because you were. They abandoned us. WE ARE NO LONGER THE TARGET MARKET OF THIS GAME. 6-8 months of waiting for new content and badly needed bugfixes and this is what we get. You can bet that if this game even survives into 2025, they will continue moving it in the direction of console players - which means LESS complexity and probably pay to win.
It feels painful to have the not-E3 announcement dropped on us, but frankly speaking, Amazon actually did us a favor there. The Aeternum announcement was a rip-off-the-bandage moment. No more cloak and dagger, here's Amazon's real plan all along.
Knowing that Amazon is top down management and AGS is just a division within the Amazon parent company I wouldn't be at all surprised if these types of decisions are being made from Amazon by people who are not even remotely familiar with the gaming industry.

I noticed with the console marketing they're not even calling it an "MMO", they're just pushing it as a "RPG" and saying things like 'you can play through the whole game solo'. Which isn't untrue, but it ignores Companies, Dungeons, OPR, Wars, etc. It feels like a studio pivot to me.
As a new player, it is incredibly obvious to me that this dev team has no interest in making an MMO. They like RPGs. They want to basically make BG3, but nobody wants them to. That’s why we are all upset about not getting a new OPR map but the devs are all happy about the lore behind the flowers in their new area.
I can already see the opening clip of their new video - a montage of the interviewer reading angry comments as the camera pans over Scott and Katie smirking with new world music playing in the background. Its the same opening theyve done countless times before 😂
So sad. It's like all of us "current" (i.e. those waiting for the June announcement) were just beta testers this whole time. They really should have done a special announcement for us first to let us know the plans and that the console announcement was coming. I'm hoping there is more for us coming, but that announcement made so many just not care anymore...
Barbershop, more OPR maps, possibly a 5v5 instanced battleground, another PvE zone, redoing the faction vendor so it doesn't gold sink people for quality of life items like ultimate trophies or basic gear, changing the faction missions so we can just pick the ones we want instead of waiting 5 minutes a pop for them to refresh, making town board missions reward real gold, increasing respawn rates for all resource nodes, there are a ton of things they can announce to make the game better if they have a clue. Thumbs up for great videos and insight.
I would have liked to see a new opr map, casual wars, and ranked arena. I've been asking for that for over 2 years. But Scot has data that tells him that is not what I want. What I want is zero content, an FFA island that will be abused by big companies and solo trials. therefore, I am wrong. Scot has the data, after all, making him 100% correct.
We will return and there will be thousands and thousands on all servers. Let's have a little more FAITH that this confusing situation will be redirected. NW is a great game, especially because of its UNIQUE combat that makes it so attractive.

They hyped you up instead of telling you there was no new content coming, bc they knew you would stop p(l)aying if you knew there was no xpac coming. They needed you to be hyped so keep you on the hooked. They knew this was going to be poorly received, and did it anyway, which means they have long since decided to shift resources to lotr.
07:03 dude yes. Even the announcement video aimed at new players was terrible! Why are the devs sitting around a table for 35 minutes discussing how great the vaulting is in NW? That’s not how you attract new players!! 😂 It should have been a 5-10 minute video with lots of gameplay and voice overs/text highlighting the main features and strengths of the game. That’s it. We’re talking about console here. Mostly teens and young adults. They want exciting and flashy stuff to stimulate those dopamine receptors a million miles per minute. Like… cmon guys. Do better. AGS needs to start outsourcing promo content to NW creators. I guarantee Dukesloth, Baggins, TrickTrick, JayOddity, etc. could come up with something better than that garbage.
As a The Secret World refugee when it changed from TSW MMO to The Secret World: Legends ARPG, I have no doubt the game will be gutted for both console and the bare minimum development before going into maintenance mode. This is devastating.
I would have liked everything they announced plus one new map, more open world content (events etc, or even a rework of the corrupted portals to be more worth doing), main story questing advancing on to the new map, one new OPR map or PvP mode like capture the flag aside the new PvPvE which is another thing, even if it can kinda work as a new map it's not the same. Then I think this relaunch or expansion, call it whatever you want - would have been a big success to most of us.
the way they update the game since like the first year makes me wonder if its even the same dev team who made the game, how they even managed to finish the game is beyond me.

I think they would've absolutely planned to charge us, the existing player base, for the NWA game. They most likely just couldnt find a legal way to do so without risking legal backlash.
New World has been so incredibly mismanaged it is just wild to think about. It's a shame that a game with such fantastic core systems has had so little competent development behind it. At this point the only thing that would bring me and my group back is a truly significant boost in content. No way we are returning to run the same expeditions to get gear that is just a little bit higher GS. This announcement was the nail for my New World coffin. Time to uninstall and bury it.

the combination of incompetence and straight up lying to your playerbase will kill even console playerbase they might get, they are fumbling over and over again... And the same people want to create another MMO?? it will be NW launch all over again with their attitude
The two major issues they've struggled with since launch: #1. Content releases WAY too sparse. Since New World released way too early, content needed to be a huge priority for them. Content patches should have been put our more regularly. As it is now, there is no end game in New World and it's a sad state of affairs. #2. The failure to get rid of their technical debt (i.e. bugs) They have never fixed bugs quickly enough, and they've never been able to put out new patches without adding many additional bugs or reintroducing bugs that existed in this game months or years prior. I don't know if this is engine related, or developer incompetence related, but it's had a huge impact on the game. If they were able to solve both of these problems immediately, the game could flourish. Unfortunately, I really don't think that's possible with the current engine/dev team combination. I'm a huge fan of the game, so it really is disappointing to say all of this.
What would have gotten me excited is pretty simple. A new OPR map. Or two. A faction-based PvP zone, with objectives (so think a race that is always ongoing, every day, 24/7) and higher-end pve materials in the zone. A raid dungeon (not just a boss rush). Current content brought up to par (so the sandworm drops items that are worthwhile, for instance). Massive bug fixes. And we are getting.... none of that. Literally none of it at all. Dead game.
I didn't really expect much and a lot of people pushing for an entire new gamemode, opr map, weapon etc. are a bit deluded imo but it would have been nice to get a date for crossworld arena and have custom wars and opr raid queue to get as much as possible out of the existing modes with relatively little effort.
They need to fire the entire team that is responsible for the further development of the game. At the moment, they decided that they knew better what the players needed and followed the path of Blizzard, closing themselves off from their old audience and continuing to sink the project to the bottom.
Increased GS is a really bad idea unless they’re simply adding an additional slot. Considering how grindy it was to get bis gear via the gypsum kiln, resetting that treadmill would probably be a reason for me to just quit the game.
How do they think their console game has any sort of chance when the pc game started out at over 1 million players world wide and steadly dropped since the start to a paltry 5k. No one who ever played it can now recommend it to some one new. The graphics, combat are awesome but they have consistently made bad decisions in the direction of game and it's flow. The leads will never get another job if they list their role in NW on a resume?
Nothing was fumbled, it was all part of the grand plan. The developers proved to AGS management they can scam a load of people not into only paying for the base broken game but to continuously lie to them and get them to beta test for free labor,. When the right time came they threw the remaining 5k die hard PC players under the bus in the hopes of getting 1m new fresh start console players, so it was all a big FU and thanks for beta testing the console release for us.
All marketing team must be fired after this announcement I think. That will be the darkest days for AGS untill they start to make real work not only promices, and it already is, thanks steam. They even start to DDoS streamers, talking unpleasant things. Such a great guys... Almost 3k hours played... And Ive never been so dissapointed...
They miss sold a product. It should be refunded. Ivee been asking since November 23. No response. Expansion is non refundable. Expansion had little to no content. So what am I actually buying? You think they only thought of cross platform play this year? 😅 It would of been in the works for months. So in that case they never ever had any intention on releasing content for it. Disgusting
i have done the math and new world has lost 99.5% of their players.... From day one to current player count within 24 hours. Yikes. Shame this game could've been so much better but management is hot garbage. Sucks for us players / content creators.

I wonder why AGS try to get console players to New World and expect huge numbers, while they failed to get over 1 mio PC players back to the same game/product during the past years. They dont miss to make any possible mistake. Expect nothing is what i try too. Its a good example for marketing and developing disaster. This game deserves a better studio. Hope alternative games will release soon. Maybe you have some games on the table to show us? Still some hope New World journey continues.

I'm sick of them using swimming as a feature. It's a basic animation that should already be part of the game. It's as stupid as celebrating being able to run instead of walk in a game.

The worst thing I ever did was actually buy the DLC for this game. Since release they release only 1 new weapon and the content was so boring. Their “raid” was so lame. I was hoping for a massive dungeon of 10 man not just a boss. Lack of content and artifacts felt meh because having to balance due to PvP
I’m glad I only put 3.7k hours into this game. I seen a few friends who coped saying it would get better with over 30k hours. Jokes on anyone who coped this long
I want to see some hires that actually know what they are doing. NW has lacked solid+ leadership/management since they started. In fact, it is surprising the level of game we have gotten given the incompetency at the top. This has been an issue with everything AGS has tried to do and it is a real shame. Can't say where the broken cog(s) are but Hartmann needs to start getting it done or he earns the blame, company wide failure always starts at the top.

I have flipped my opinion on this game a lot. My Steam review was Would Not Recommend up until their Heart of Madness update. Now this latest news drop just felt bad. A lot of people were expecting more content, not a revamp, but even the way they are sharing information on it is perplexing.
I stopped playing back when they knew about the bug preventing marauders from advancing in the pvp ranks for weeks and showed no signs of fixing it asap only in the up coming patch..
My suggestion for anybody who is currently playing to start a hiatus until console releases. The reason being is because when console hits It's likely going to be fresh start servers. And if you want to play with console players from PC you're probably going to have to make a new character to do it on those servers. So if you take a break now for the next four or five months you should be ready to start from scratch and level up again.
I was already done with New World, but this is just validation that this game died two years ago and it's living on the fume of a very small hardcore community.
Since this Video is a lot about Marketing .... the biggest issue for marketing today is that everyone thinks they know shit about and every stakeholder wants to push their own ideas against everyone else. Its just that everyone is a marketing expert.

They have given so many apologies and at any point have they actually addressed the source for those apologies which is that they do poor job at communicating and in even more harsh terms they do poor job at running the game. Basically in my mind is now the scene from movie Margin Call (2011) where one of the bosses says to his employees that you sell now as much as you can and you will be hated afterwards by the customers and you will never work in this business again because of the bad reputation you receive for this but you get a load of money. This right here, I am starting to feel that this was all intended, they want the old players to get out so they can focus on console and console players and burn through them in a year or two and go with a hefty paycheck and never look back. Also I am fairly certain that they did the "big announcement in June" hype to keep as much players as they could in steamcharts and data to keep investors from asking hard questions. This is the point where I am at. Maybe having a tinfoil hat on my head but still :D
I've stopped playing NW, but am still a subscriber to this channel and this was the most depressed I've ever heard you. I enjoyed the game but it was starving from lack of content. Looks like nothing has changed. I'd hate to be trying to make a living putting out content for a game that doesn't put out content, I have no idea how you can do it. Personally I wanted to see daggers and another new weapon be announced even if the second one wasn't coming out till 2025 at least we know what it is and it's coming. I also was maybe hoping for a new OPR map and game mode as well as a new PvE activity (not raids) where New and Veteran players could meet up and interact with one another and get cool rewards like new transmog, mounts, etc. Similar to Bozja or Eureka for any FF14 players out here or at least in terms of mid-core content. Barbershop and new character customization options
I am still playing every now and then, for example now i felt like making a throwing hatchet build so quite excited over it, though the lack of seasonal story and "something to do" other than doing the season pass is an issue. I like railroaded games, its a bit too open right now but hopefully next season will have more story and stuff. Definitely like their focus on solo players cuz i have 0 interest in dealing with group content metaslaves and the like
I'm forced to think that at this point, they should replace the entire team working on NW. They keep proving how incompetente they are to manage a mmo of this level.
With all that's already announced, I was hoping that the "New PvP mode" wasn't just that lawless zone. Was hoping that in addition they would add a battlegrounds or capture the flag mode. Also there are no news about Season6. That makes me feel that it's another dead season until Console comes out. Hoping that until console comes out, they keep like 2k concurrent players.
I truly thought that cancel/ARPG thing was real. It was the only article I saw. Stopped playing a long time ago so I'm not in tune with the community any more.
I wouldve loved to see the update with a new zone. These other announcements were like icing or sprinkles on the metaphorical cake. They were great but I'm not here just for icing. The raid is great, a new PvP FFA zone is great, swimming is neat, gear score increase is annoying but understandable but all being said this really wasnt an actual content update for PC players and really just a slight addition on some small seasonal content and the big update (as players expect it) is something like a new zone.
These developers have as much IQ as the team who made the day before. They think the internet doesn’t exist and people won’t read reviews/comments. On every one of there past videos the comments are all the same “where’s the new content”
What i wished: One big server for Pve player with shards per region Fresh start PVP only server or maybe an Hardcore server Not any GS increase, this is shit and take people away from comming back later New Zones, not only one but i don't know they have artists and GD and time to work on it Real new seasonal events, the same every time sucks... Free to play announcement with subscription fee maybe ? And permanent acces for the ones who bought the game before for "free" ? New world could have been the best game ever, but dude no one is working in this studio from a player perspective.

And lastly, Lead Live Producer (Delakron) fired or LEFT on the day of the console announcement and (most likely) requested him to turn his latest farewell tweet private in this damage control rollercoaster.

AGS dropped the ball for the last time for me. I held back from quitting the game because they said something big was coming during the June announcement so like many other i waited. Then got slapped in the face with their shitty underwhelming announcement for console. So i uninstalled and moved on, i hope everyone left does the same.

Most notable that they have Anarchy Online still going after its year 2001 launch as a merit but as a con that they have barely touched it for last 16 or so years :D Maybe they are better known for Conan Exiles though.

The building is really good and its EA so even though the combat is not good at the moment, it has already improved a fair bit from the alpha 2 and its what they are concentrating on next. Its funding is a bit strange but I am treating it like a kickstarter type arrangement at the moment and I figure if I get a fun 12 months out of it I will be happy.

Brimstone sands was the last decent content release. Everything else since then has been minimal at best, just enough to keep us playing but not enough to satisfy pve or pvp players.

The more I read and see all of this, the more I really question how AGS manages this whole thing. From content droughts to marketing snafus, it's honestly just bizarre to see. Their FAQ is a mess over this and I'm still not entirely sure what if anything they are doing. That plus a PCgamesN article claiming they are "shuddering" the MMO out of it. Just weird PR that never seems to actually address the issues.

I was so dedicated to this game even to the point of me advocating for a SEA/Singapore server so my fellow Asian gamers wouldnt be forced to play at a ping disadvantage. But when I saw nothing was happening, I left the discord and the game. Its such a HUGE waste of potential

the only thing they "couldnt tell us" was the console release date. during all those months of waiting they could have mentioned any amount of content or bug fixes for the game they already sold us. Sony and MS didnt give them an NDA that said they couldnt discuss the game at all, just not the release timing on their platforms. The rest of the silence is entirely on them.
If they had said "welcome console players and look at all the cool features we have implemented since the launch, and look at all the new features we're adding with the new update!" They wouldn't be in the marketing mess they're in
If you feel shit on, it's because you were. They abandoned us. WE ARE NO LONGER THE TARGET MARKET OF THIS GAME. 6-8 months of waiting for new content and badly needed bugfixes and this is what we get. You can bet that if this game even survives into 2025, they will continue moving it in the direction of console players - which means LESS complexity and probably pay to win.
It feels painful to have the not-E3 announcement dropped on us, but frankly speaking, Amazon actually did us a favor there. The Aeternum announcement was a rip-off-the-bandage moment. No more cloak and dagger, here's Amazon's real plan all along.

I noticed with the console marketing they're not even calling it an "MMO", they're just pushing it as a "RPG" and saying things like 'you can play through the whole game solo'. Which isn't untrue, but it ignores Companies, Dungeons, OPR, Wars, etc. It feels like a studio pivot to me.
As a new player, it is incredibly obvious to me that this dev team has no interest in making an MMO. They like RPGs. They want to basically make BG3, but nobody wants them to. That’s why we are all upset about not getting a new OPR map but the devs are all happy about the lore behind the flowers in their new area.
I can already see the opening clip of their new video - a montage of the interviewer reading angry comments as the camera pans over Scott and Katie smirking with new world music playing in the background. Its the same opening theyve done countless times before 😂
So sad. It's like all of us "current" (i.e. those waiting for the June announcement) were just beta testers this whole time. They really should have done a special announcement for us first to let us know the plans and that the console announcement was coming. I'm hoping there is more for us coming, but that announcement made so many just not care anymore...
Barbershop, more OPR maps, possibly a 5v5 instanced battleground, another PvE zone, redoing the faction vendor so it doesn't gold sink people for quality of life items like ultimate trophies or basic gear, changing the faction missions so we can just pick the ones we want instead of waiting 5 minutes a pop for them to refresh, making town board missions reward real gold, increasing respawn rates for all resource nodes, there are a ton of things they can announce to make the game better if they have a clue. Thumbs up for great videos and insight.
I would have liked to see a new opr map, casual wars, and ranked arena. I've been asking for that for over 2 years. But Scot has data that tells him that is not what I want. What I want is zero content, an FFA island that will be abused by big companies and solo trials. therefore, I am wrong. Scot has the data, after all, making him 100% correct.
We will return and there will be thousands and thousands on all servers. Let's have a little more FAITH that this confusing situation will be redirected.

this is actually sad af, I quit NW a few months back but still have friends that play and am part of a company that was waiting MONTHS for any sort of update so we could return and have something new to do...unfortunately it looks like NW is officially dead unless they get new devs that care about the game.

As a The Secret World refugee when it changed from TSW MMO to The Secret World: Legends ARPG, I have no doubt the game will be gutted for both console and the bare minimum development before going into maintenance mode. This is devastating.
I would have liked everything they announced plus one new map, more open world content (events etc, or even a rework of the corrupted portals to be more worth doing), main story questing advancing on to the new map, one new OPR map or PvP mode like capture the flag aside the new PvPvE which is another thing, even if it can kinda work as a new map it's not the same. Then I think this relaunch or expansion, call it whatever you want - would have been a big success to most of us.
the way they update the game since like the first year makes me wonder if its even the same dev team who made the game, how they even managed to finish the game is beyond me.

I think they would've absolutely planned to charge us, the existing player base, for the NWA game. They most likely just couldnt find a legal way to do so without risking legal backlash.

New World has been so incredibly mismanaged it is just wild to think about. It's a shame that a game with such fantastic core systems has had so little competent development behind it. At this point the only thing that would bring me and my group back is a truly significant boost in content. No way we are returning to run the same expeditions to get gear that is just a little bit higher GS. This announcement was the nail for my New World coffin. Time to uninstall and bury it.

So sad, man... I genuinely loved New World... this game could have been soo sooo soo much more.
The two major issues they've struggled with since launch:
#1. Content releases WAY too sparse. Since New World released way too early, content needed to be a huge priority for them. Content patches should have been put our more regularly. As it is now, there is no end game in New World and it's a sad state of affairs.
#2. The failure to get rid of their technical debt (i.e. bugs) They have never fixed bugs quickly enough, and they've never been able to put out new patches without adding many additional bugs or reintroducing bugs that existed in this game months or years prior. I don't know if this is engine related, or developer incompetence related, but it's had a huge impact on the game.
If they were able to solve both of these problems immediately, the game could flourish. Unfortunately, I really don't think that's possible with the current engine/dev team combination. I'm a huge fan of the game, so it really is disappointing to say all of this.
They've achieved one thing: John Smedley is no longer the most despised boss in MMO history.
What would have gotten me excited is pretty simple.
A new OPR map. Or two.
A faction-based PvP zone, with objectives (so think a race that is always ongoing, every day, 24/7) and higher-end pve materials in the zone.
A raid dungeon (not just a boss rush).
Current content brought up to par (so the sandworm drops items that are worthwhile, for instance).
Massive bug fixes.
And we are getting.... none of that. Literally none of it at all.
Dead game.
I didn't really expect much and a lot of people pushing for an entire new gamemode, opr map, weapon etc. are a bit deluded imo but it would have been nice to get a date for crossworld arena and have custom wars and opr raid queue to get as much as possible out of the existing modes with relatively little effort.
They need to fire the entire team that is responsible for the further development of the game. At the moment, they decided that they knew better what the players needed and followed the path of Blizzard, closing themselves off from their old audience and continuing to sink the project to the bottom.
Increased GS is a really bad idea unless they’re simply adding an additional slot.
Considering how grindy it was to get bis gear via the gypsum kiln, resetting that treadmill would probably be a reason for me to just quit the game.
How do they think their console game has any sort of chance when the pc game started out at over 1 million players world wide and steadly dropped since the start to a paltry 5k. No one who ever played it can now recommend it to some one new. The graphics, combat are awesome but they have consistently made bad decisions in the direction of game and it's flow. The leads will never get another job if they list their role in NW on a resume?
Nothing was fumbled, it was all part of the grand plan. The developers proved to AGS management they can scam a load of people not into only paying for the base broken game but to continuously lie to them and get them to beta test for free labor,. When the right time came they threw the remaining 5k die hard PC players under the bus in the hopes of getting 1m new fresh start console players, so it was all a big FU and thanks for beta testing the console release for us.
All marketing team must be fired after this announcement I think. That will be the darkest days for AGS untill they start to make real work not only promices, and it already is, thanks steam. They even start to DDoS streamers, talking unpleasant things. Such a great guys... Almost 3k hours played... And Ive never been so dissapointed...
They miss sold a product. It should be refunded. Ivee been asking since November 23. No response. Expansion is non refundable. Expansion had little to no content. So what am I actually buying? You think they only thought of cross platform play this year? 😅 It would of been in the works for months. So in that case they never ever had any intention on releasing content for it. Disgusting
i have done the math and new world has lost 99.5% of their players.... From day one to current player count within 24 hours. Yikes. Shame this game could've been so much better but management is hot garbage. Sucks for us players / content creators.

I wonder why AGS try to get console players to New World and expect huge numbers, while they failed to get over 1 mio PC players back to the same game/product during the past years. They dont miss to make any possible mistake. Expect nothing is what i try too. Its a good example for marketing and developing disaster. This game deserves a better studio. I'm sick of them using swimming as a feature. It's a basic animation that should already be part of the game. It's as stupid as celebrating being able to run instead of walk in a game.
All they had to do to avoid this “ShirtShow” was to spend some time describing to ChatGPT what they wanted to achieve with their marketing strategy. The worst thing I ever did was actually buy the DLC for this game. Since release they release only 1 new weapon and the content was so boring. Their “raid” was so lame. I was hoping for a massive dungeon of 10 man not just a boss. Lack of content and artifacts felt meh because having to balance due to PvP

I want to see some hires that actually know what they are doing. NW has lacked solid+ leadership/management since they started. In fact, it is surprising the level of game we have gotten given the incompetency at the top. This has been an issue with everything AGS has tried to do and it is a real shame. Can't say where the broken cog(s) are but Hartmann needs to start getting it done or he earns the blame, company wide failure always starts at the top.

I have flipped my opinion on this game a lot. My Steam review was Would Not Recommend up until their Heart of Madness update. Now this latest news drop just felt bad. A lot of people were expecting more content, not a revamp, but even the way they are sharing information on it is perplexing.
I stopped playing back when they knew about the bug preventing marauders from advancing in the pvp ranks for weeks and showed no signs of fixing it asap only in the up coming patch..
My suggestion for anybody who is currently playing to start a hiatus until console releases.
The reason being is because when console hits It's likely going to be fresh start servers. And if you want to play with console players from PC you're probably going to have to make a new character to do it on those servers.
So if you take a break now for the next four or five months you should be ready to start from scratch and level up again.
I was already done with New World, but this is just validation that this game died two years ago and it's living on the fume of a very small hardcore community.
Since this Video is a lot about Marketing .... the biggest issue for marketing today is that everyone thinks they know shit about and every stakeholder wants to push their own ideas against everyone else. Its just that everyone is a marketing expert.

They have given so many apologies and at any point have they actually addressed the source for those apologies which is that they do poor job at communicating and in even more harsh terms they do poor job at running the game.
Basically in my mind is now the scene from movie Margin Call (2011) where one of the bosses says to his employees that you sell now as much as you can and you will be hated afterwards by the customers and you will never work in this business again because of the bad reputation you receive for this but you get a load of money. This right here, I am starting to feel that this was all intended, they want the old players to get out so they can focus on console and console players and burn through them in a year or two and go with a hefty paycheck and never look back.
Also I am fairly certain that they did the "big announcement in June" hype to keep as much players as they could in steamcharts and data to keep investors from asking hard questions.

Personally I wanted to see daggers and another new weapon be announced even if the second one wasn't coming out till 2025 at least we know what it is and it's coming. I also was maybe hoping for a new OPR map and game mode as well as a new PvE activity (not raids) where New and Veteran players could meet up and interact with one another and get cool rewards like new transmog, mounts, etc. Similar to Bozja or Eureka for any FF14 players out here or at least in terms of mid-core content. Barbershop and new character customization options

I am still playing every now and then, for example now i felt like making a throwing hatchet build so quite excited over it, though the lack of seasonal story and "something to do" other than doing the season pass is an issue.
I like railroaded games, its a bit too open right now but hopefully next season will have more story and stuff.
Definitely like their focus on solo players cuz i have 0 interest in dealing with group content metaslaves and the like
they basically used us pc players as beta testers for the console release. took all our feedback and used them to streamline for their big move.

With all that's already announced, I was hoping that the "New PvP mode" wasn't just that lawless zone. Was hoping that in addition they would add a battlegrounds or capture the flag mode.
Also there are no news about Season6. That makes me feel that it's another dead season until Console comes out. Hoping that until console comes out, they keep like 2k concurrent players.

I wouldve loved to see the update with a new zone. These other announcements were like icing or sprinkles on the metaphorical cake. They were great but I'm not here just for icing. The raid is great, a new PvP FFA zone is great, swimming is neat, gear score increase is annoying but understandable but all being said this really wasnt an actual content update for PC players and really just a slight addition on some small seasonal content and the big update (as players expect it) is something like a new zone.
These developers have as much IQ as the team who made the day before. They think the internet doesn’t exist and people won’t read reviews/comments. On every one of there past videos the comments are all the same “where’s the new content”
