This game is filled with so much content that everyone rushes through, They had a rough start but there is always something to do. They can do better, but The potential is there for a growing player base to grasp.
The reason its rushed through is because by the time it comes out you're more than ready for it, and usually its only 1 or 2 things so its easy to finish quick. There's maybe 2 or 3 things max that are "repeatable" that are actually worth doing but after a whole year of nothing new its pretty easy to cap out those things too. Console players will have more to chew on at "launch" but even then they'll hit the wall faster than AGS will release more runway just as we have. Plus the "rough start" excuse is over, games been out for like 3 years.
Pve wise, there is nothing, there is this 3 raid boss that gives BIS stuff, if its time gated then its little to no content, if its not, ppl will spam it first week till they have what they wanted. 3boss/year aint enough
Their idea of BiS is Gear Score 725, not optimised/illegal perk combinations. Because of this, and their general lack of understanding of their own game and desireable perk combinations, when they say BiS, they really mean - high gearscore. I guarantee the raid will have minimal desireable items - next to none. This is ultimately AGS's problem, they do not understand what makes an item desireable or just how to make the game rewardable.
Yea, there is nothing like BIS in this game.. You have no classes etc. So, for one player it'll be BIS for 2nd it will be a trash... 90% of my gear is self crafting because nothing good dropped in the game... So far as this system will not change it will be sux for me.. sorry. But they don't know who to balance loot in this game and how to prepare and make a good gear progress feature that will focus player on end-game content... Endgame content for now is a chest runs and collecting mats :D -- Raid will no change this. And if we will not be able to upgrade current gear many ppl will be fked up with that random gear drop.
Exactly, except there are clear gear pieces you could create that are obviously extremely strong or BiS for a common-role. FS users would universally say a pair of boots with Fire Harnessing/Refreshing/Empowering Fireball on are BiS or by the very minimum desireable. Or a Dex pair of gloves with Shirking Fort/Shirking Heals/Fortifying Perforate for Spear users. There's nothing wrong with creating a set of farmable gear with extremely strong 3 perks for an SnS/Spear (for example) combination for instance is my point. They should leave the more niche combinations to Crafting, and let general drops fill the rewarding items. (I'd consider stuff like Void Harnessing/GA weapon perks to be left for Crafting for stuff like Abyss GA) Part of the job is to make all perks equally competitive. That involves buffing a lot of a shit ones, rather than nerfing the good ones though.

From now until the release of New World on consoles, the development team should pause the whole game so that no one can play at all and wait for the console release. This way, the developers can fix all the problems on both the console and PC without any stress. They can maintain and fix the same bugs while players are not playing. Focus on pausing to fix the servers, making them more stable, and improving the whole game. Additionally, it would be a great idea to have a big live conference with the developers, either online or at some location. Players and content creators can ask hard questions live without any censorship. It should be a transparent and unscripted session, listening to ideas live and not cherry-picking questions. Answer new and old ideas from players. Also, consider adding regular updates behind the scenes from the developers' perspectives and progress reports more often. Daily updates on what they have done throughout the day, including fixing, improvements, and additions, will keep the community informed and engaged. This will help build trust and show that the developers are actively working on improvements and listening to the community. It will reassure players that the developers are not repeating the same mistakes."

Thank you for that work One quick vent on the announcement: The fact that they were speaking directly to the PC players in their dev videos, telling us that there was something HUGE for us in June, making it sound like some sort of big improvements to PC side of the game. Whereas in reality, it was just a marketing ploy to hype everyone up and keep them hanging on (for the ones that are), so they could announce a rebranding and launch to PS5... They are ABSOLUTELY disconnected from their fanbase/long term players and rightfully so, the remainder are pretty upset with how they navigated this announcement.

NW is lucky there isn't much else to play or anything reasonable launching this year. I also really doubt they can do a free-for-all zone properly, they are typically done wrong and become either nearly empty or 'so-and-so company moves in to farm' for a couple hours. Ah well, I guess at least it is still going and gets worked on.

As a PC player since launch this game really does feel like its finally getting out of beta. It truly feels like a betrayal that they purposefully ignored PC and just went straight to addressing the console players to boost their player numbers. One of the worst company decisions imo. Console players have social media and reddit. They will see the backlash and the problems new world has before they try it making the numbers AGS were hoping for, less likely.

Now necessity is low - it is a game, albeit one with generally excellent (and rapidly degrading) combat, but trust for something like a live service game generally has to remain at least tolerable. In order to BUILD trust, AGS deliberately and intentionally stated that current PC players should wait through the dark months for forthcoming content that should alleviate some of our concerns. That they not only did NOT alleviate any of our concerns but actually talked right past us IS a huge breach of trust - trust they specifically cultivated to placate the community until this announcement. Betrayal isn't really that far out there for what happened. Is it the end of all life on earth? No, of course not. Hopefully we all go find other games to play and move on with our lives and business into companies more responsive to their paypi-er, considerate of their customers. But betrayal is a totally apt word, this was a gigantic bait and switch of an announcement.
4+ months of "Wait for June for a major announcement" and when June rolls around, it's now "Wait until October 15th" for anything to really show up. Basically, 2024 is a BUST for New World. I feel that the PC gamers have basically been paid beta testers for a console game and Lord of the Rings. EVERYTHING you mentioned will ALSO be available for console players, so to say "There is content for PC players" is a bit misleading.
Your last sentence doesn't make any sense. Just because something is ALSO available for console, doesn't mean it won't be content for PC players. Otherwise they'd have to run the PC version completely separate just so that PC players have some exclusive content.
The GS increase pisses me off. I recently upgraded my gear up to 700!! So it's gonna be obsolete?? Especially since I prefer named gear. Or do we get to upgrade that gear with more Seals?? Which is a pain to get
GS increase is the least of the worries. Existing servers will die because console players can only join new fresh start servers. So if you want any kind of activity, prepare to start a new character on the new fresh start.
My prediction is that while the raid may allow you to skip that grind, there will probably be other ways to upgrade current pieces. People have way too much Dark Matter so they might bring back the Umbral upgrade system with Dark Matter instead
Very interesting to see both sides. From my discord and IRL friends that have console they couldn’t be more excited which obviously is going to be good for Amazon. However of course, myself being a pc player since release of the game it is a giant let down but with the bigger picture it is a massive update for this type of mmo releasing on console with cross play. That being said, it is super frustrating the lack of content for pc players and PvP as a whole but I also understand porting this size of a game and mmo that is crossplay to console a huge task.

So if this area we are getting for the FFA is within Cutless then it doesnt need to be called a "New Zone". Zones are large areas like Cutlass, Weavers, Windsward.....etc. So when stating we are geting a new zone dont exspect it to be a zone. . Its more like a small area withing a zone.
As someone who plays this game for 1100 hours in the Sutekh server and paid all season pass. I doubt I'll play this game again. I will still check out this game on release date though.
I was hoping they would do something really cool with swimming like underwater resource nodes or lost cargo chests that you could open for gold,resources,etc I also think It would be cool if the raid came with a 20-30 man version at some point if not at release with harder mechanics and maybe even raid specific items one from each boss that's not an artifact and has a low drop chance but is really powerful and has a unique skin I do have two concerns at the moment my first one is with the matchmaking why would they test it with arena when arena is basically dead because it doesn't have crossworld functionality yet? (or does it have crossworld now?) my second concern is with the gear score bump there is so much content and so many items that are still at 625 I'm concerned that if they bump the gear score even higher that all the 625 content and items will either never get updated and it will remain essentially dead content or it will take them an extremely long time to fully update everything because they will also have to update all the current viable content up to the new gear score increase also what does this new gear score increase mean for crafters? how will crafters be able to make items at the new gear score will we have to craft or acquire a certain ingredient and if so how hard and expensive is this ingredient to aquire? I'm hoping to get answers in the next dev update I'm sure it will be a very "interesting" update thanks for video Duke it's nice to have some clarification on the situation!
Hopefully at some point they will bump the level of the items you get from most of the other content in the game so that it's meaningful again since at this point most of the expeditions don't drop usable gear as their primords for running that expedition
Duke, this is for a full year of waiting. Of course we expected much more. Brimstone update had more stuff, and that same year had regular updates every 3 months.
3:29 is the only detail I'm interested to hear more about. But I doubt they've put much thought into it and think it'll remain the same bottom priority gamemode it is today.
The reason PC players are pissed is because AGS made numerous videos talking about how there will be HUGE changes coming and while there wont be any new content for 6 months the June announcement will make it all worth it. We expected a lot because THEY THEMSELVES said there would be. The only copium here is the fact people actually believed AGS yet again. They lied to the PC players. No way around that
You know this would be a great patch if they add these things: Something for small guilds to do. Like guild houses and farmining in your own house. 2 new opr maps 2 new modes on all 3 maps 1 new arena map And this would be still only a normal patch after 1 year

Gotta admit, having a long history of 100-1000 OPR stomps asking for some kind of matchmaking or team balancing only to finally grant an MMR system....to Arena, the mode they killed so hard it takes asking in global chat to pop, is very funny. I am soooo down for a PvP only zone. Since they made open world PvP optional and reduced rewards nobody does it anymore, it was sooo fun on launch. Hopefully I can be more competitive in PvP without the expertise system too.
Its not no content but imagine, it should be new stuff and should make good the 6-9month waiting for the past seasons where we didnt get content at all. How can we not get cocky about it? They promised that with the announcement everything will be cleared and we will understand. Nothing has changed for us. Ill always love the game, Maybe Console players will just enjoy the game as it is :) The Pvp zone being added along with the raid is very exciting, i understand why the wait could anger some people... But shaping the game for console and working on the code like they said they did takes up a ton of time.
I wish they would just ditch the GS system and make gear progression linear, same as GW2. They are already messing with perk balance every patch....increasing GS does nothing but put players back in a gear farm fest. Just add new perks and system with expansions
AGS struggles with updates for PC, console updates will require certification to make sure the game isn't going to do damage to the console. My prediction is they are hoping that console will bring them enough money to keep the game alive, it won't. A year after console release the game will have done so badly that Amazon will have to shut down the servers. Console players will likely have to buy the game, and a keyboard with a mouse. The controller support wasn't smooth and I felt like putting down the controller to use mouse and keyboard, sometimes things didn't work, I think console players will demand a refund shortly after trying to control their character.
All these new features just sound like they took ideas content that eso and ffxiv do and just added it. Im kinda excited about it to see how ags implements its. None of this seems bad it justthe lack of communication and information ags has given us. Their marketing team sucks ass. But i think they expected this reaction and knew the player base was going to go ape shit. I really hope im wrong but i dont see this game going any further when LotRs comes out. Yeah even some news sites have said New World is getting replaced with a spiritual successor. I took it all as marketing though to the potential console players, and I still think it is a mistake. Even so I don't know how you can come to that conclusion in the announcement they did talk about all the current group activities still being in game.
The game has less than 6k players average , it will bleed out even more until october, this looks like a cash grab before they shut it down eventually, not much involvement from their part and also NO roadmap. Looks clear to me.

constantly wanting an ilvl increase is not good for this game. It doesnt work like WoW or FF14. Just a terrible idea for new players and just makes them have to grind insane amounts of gold before even being able to participate.

Hopefully we all go find other games to play and move on with our lives and business into companies more responsive to their paypi-er, considerate of their customers. 4+ months of "Wait for June for a major announcement" and when June rolls around, it's now "Wait until October 15th" for anything to really show up. Basically, 2024 is a BUST for New World. I feel that the PC gamers have basically been paid beta testers for a console game and Lord of the Rings.
EVERYTHING you mentioned will ALSO be available for console players, so to say "There is content for PC players" is a bit misleading.
Your last sentence doesn't make any sense. Just because something is ALSO available for console, doesn't mean it won't be content for PC players. Otherwise they'd have to run the PC version completely separate just so that PC players have some exclusive content.
The GS increase pisses me off. I recently upgraded my gear up to 700!! So it's gonna be obsolete??

GS increase is the least of the worries. Existing servers will die because console players can only join new fresh start servers. So if you want any kind of activity, prepare to start a new character on the new fresh start.
My prediction is that while the raid may allow you to skip that grind, there will probably be other ways to upgrade current pieces. People have way too much Dark Matter so they might bring back the Umbral upgrade system with Dark Matter instead

Very interesting to see both sides. From my discord and IRL friends that have console they couldn’t be more excited which obviously is going to be good for Amazon. However of course, myself being a pc player since release of the game it is a giant let down but with the bigger picture it is a massive update for this type of mmo releasing on console with cross play.
That being said, it is super frustrating the lack of content for pc players and PvP as a whole but I also understand porting this size of a game and mmo that is crossplay to console a huge task.

So if this area we are getting for the FFA is within Cutless then it doesnt need to be called a "New Zone". Zones are large areas like Cutlass, Weavers, Windsward.....etc. So when stating we are geting a new zone dont exspect it to be a zone. . Its more like a small area withing a zone.
As someone who plays this game for 1100 hours in the Sutekh server and paid all season pass. I doubt I'll play this game again. I will still check out this game on release date though.

I was hoping they would do something really cool with swimming like underwater resource nodes or lost cargo chests that you could open for gold,resources,etc I also think It would be cool if the raid came with a 20-30 man version at some point if not at release with harder mechanics and maybe even raid specific items one from each boss that's not an artifact and has a low drop chance but is really powerful and has a unique skin I do have two concerns at the moment my first one is with the matchmaking why would they test it with arena when arena is basically dead because it doesn't have crossworld functionality yet? (or does it have crossworld now?) my second concern is with the gear score bump there is so much content and so many items that are still at 625 I'm concerned that if they bump the gear score even higher that all the 625 content and items will either never get updated and it will remain essentially dead content or it will take them an extremely long time to fully update everything because they will also have to update all the current viable content up to the new gear score increase also what does this new gear score increase mean for crafters? how will crafters be able to make items at the new gear score will we have to craft or acquire a certain ingredient and if so how hard and expensive is this ingredient to aquire? I'm hoping to get answers in the next dev update I'm sure it will be a very "interesting" update thanks for video Duke it's nice to have some clarification on the situation!

Hopefully at some point they will bump the level of the items you get from most of the other content in the game so that it's meaningful again since at this point most of the expeditions don't drop usable gear as their primords for running that expedition

Duke, this is for a full year of waiting. Of course we expected much more. Brimstone update had more stuff, and that same year had regular updates every 3 months.

The reason PC players are pissed is because AGS made numerous videos talking about how there will be HUGE changes coming and while there wont be any new content for 6 months the June announcement will make it all worth it. We expected a lot because THEY THEMSELVES said there would be. The only copium here is the fact people actually believed AGS yet again. They lied to the PC players. No way around that

Gotta admit, having a long history of 100-1000 OPR stomps asking for some kind of matchmaking or team balancing only to finally grant an MMR system....to Arena, the mode they killed so hard it takes asking in global chat to pop, is very funny. Like a grim Joaquin Phoenix "Joker" funny, but still funny.

I am soooo down for a PvP only zone. Since they made open world PvP optional and reduced rewards nobody does it anymore, it was sooo fun on launch. Hopefully I can be more competitive in PvP without the expertise system too.

I wish they would just ditch the GS system and make gear progression linear, same as GW2. They are already messing with perk balance every patch....increasing GS does nothing but put players back in a gear farm fest. Just add new perks and system with expansions

AGS struggles with updates for PC, console updates will require certification to make sure the game isn't going to do damage to the console. My prediction is they are hoping that console will bring them enough money to keep the game alive, it won't. A year after console release the game will have done so badly that Amazon will have to shut down the servers. Console players will likely have to buy the game, and a keyboard with a mouse. The controller support wasn't smooth and I felt like putting down the controller to use mouse and keyboard, sometimes things didn't work, I think console players will demand a refund shortly after trying to control their character.

I saw the announcement and legit thought they made a new game built out of NW that was only a single player experience.
Yeah even some news sites have said New World is getting replaced with a spiritual successor. I took it all as marketing though to the potential console players, and I still think it is a mistake. Even so I don't know how you can come to that conclusion in the announcement they did talk about all the current group activities still being in game.

constantly wanting an ilvl increase is not good for this game. It doesnt work like WoW or FF14. Just a terrible idea for new players and just makes them have to grind insane amounts of gold before even being able to participate.
Its barely any content. A raid you play once and never again. No new OPR map still? Only 1 new weapon. Its a few hours content at best.
Im sure this "content" will keep the players for atleast a day or two(im only talking about the 10-20 players that might still be playing the game by the time this gets released)😂 But overall this is a joke.Damn they finaly found a solution for ques thats exactly what was needed back when the game was still ALIVE LOL not now.
