I’ve decided on the Corolla sedan hybrid ascent sport. Need a reliable brand, big boot, fuel economy and space for my 3.5 year old. After driving a nissan micra this is a luxury. Can’t wait to have space and comfort.
Rented one of these in hybrid.. so much better then anything ive ever driven in my whole life.... just the best car man has ever made.. cabin noise is crazy low.. ride was like driving on pillows.. not a single bump... only issue is price and maybe batteries failing :)
I agreed. The European models look fantastic with their rear lights and reflector lights design and placement. I am sure they will be upgraded for the facelift model. Unfortunately I can't wait that long.
I've noticed that the Corolla sedan don't have the shark fin antenna like the hatchback in Australia. But the shark fin antenna is available for both models in European and North American market. Toyota does weird things these days.
The sedans have become very popular ,and excel at the hatches shortcomings, being having a big boot and good rear legroom. Also better looking ,I think Toyota have another winner .I would love a ZR hybrid sedan...something that is not available yet locally .
Drove both hybrid and petrol one after the other... I found a big difference in usable power the hybrid was very week in any speed over 80ks hopeless for passing in normal road conditions on the highway.
Comments like this are the perfect indicator that someone is full of Sh#$. I have a 2017 Forester, so many comments on the CA/Drive site saying it is hopeless at overtaking. 115K kilometres in and I have never once had an issue overtaking due to a lack of power. I have driven a Hybrid Corolla for a week while my car was in for a Roo strike repair. Absolutely nothing wrong with it’s overtaking ability.
I have always preferred the Hatch { of any make } I am not fussed if anyone in the rear is uncomfortable or not it they want a lift the can live with it.
RSG I brought one. I travel 180km a day, most of it on the highway. I average 3.3L/100km. I used to own a Ford Fiesta. I have halved my fuel costs. Even better in the city. It does 1250 km in a single tank. Best car I have ever had.
@@elossi161161 Thanks for the info. I'm in a similar situation. Have to 200 kms per day for work. Buying this I will be finishing 5 capped servicing within a year (50k kms) Does Toyota offers extended capped servicing? Is the hybrid battery pack under warranty till 5 or 10 years?
RSG In Australia Toyota has 7 years powertrain and 10 years battery warranty. Servicing is capped for 50000km, but for me that is only a couple of years. Toyotas are so reliable I am not too concerned about the servicing. There should not be too many extra costs. I am planning on keeping this for about 10 years. One thing I regret is not going for the version with bsm. It would have been useful on the highway. I went for the base model which did not have blind spot monitoring.
@@elossi161161 Thanks again, very useful info. Agree, BSM are very helpful. Have had close moments on highway on my blindside. Am thinking of base model & will check how much does BSM adds up to. How did you manage to haggle it down to? I'm based in Sydney and got some quotes around. Will get back towards the end Dec Also does a full spare size fits in spacesaver area? This could be a deal breaker driving on highway. Seen the fronts not tinted, no parking sensors but hats off for Toyota for having TSS2 across all models. I liked bucket seats & feels its been raised higher, which is good for the back.
RSG I was on a waiting list to get the hybrid from Japan. When you are on a waiting list there is little room for haggling. The hybrids all have space saver spare tyres. It seems to be the way all the car manufacturers are going. If you can fit a full size spare into it, I will probably change it one day.
It's sad just how irrelevant Toyota is in today's auto market. Their silly push towards Hydrogen Fuel Cell tech has been a big flop, and rightly so. Whoever is the idiot in management driving these silly decisions, needs to be let go to save this company and move towards a fully electric vehicle, fast!

batteries wouldn’t fail that soon. a friend of mine still has a prius from 2003.
I test drove one last week and it’s such a comfortable drive. Can’t wait to get mine soon.
Looks great. Needed a bit of a facelift. Wouldn’t buy one for myself but I like admiring them on the road.

i guess I am kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to watch new tv shows online?
@Dillon Tatum Lately I have been using FlixZone. Just google for it =)
@Erik Blaine Yea, been using FlixZone for since april myself :D
@Erik Blaine thank you, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I appreciate it!
We need the estate version in Australia. Would sell like hot cakes
Love that blue paint

Yeah for example corolla hatch and estate models are available with 2.0 135kw hybrid powertrain, and sedan - somehow arent...

Another baffling automaker decision; why no hybrid in ZR Sedan Mr Toyoda?
Same for me
Was hoping for a hybrid ZR sedan to replace my 07 Camry but such a shame 😩
You didn’t mention that the ZR sedan comes with a sunroof as standard equipment
not in australian market
Ankush Deo the sedan does ,but not the hatchback

Give me a sedan any day, heaps more room and it doesn't look like a hairdressers car.
That's the spirit! Me, me, me! It works for the U.S. President.
@@worrywart1311 Exactly
Bring the 2.0 Hybrid wagon that's available in European market!
yo we have the same name
Which is a better as a hybrid vehicle?
1. Toyota Corolla
2. Toyota Camry
Which one is better for driving Uber?
Get the corolla but in hybrid
Very nice I love this car
