The attention to the little details is incredible! The puppets bleed and sweat! Even the sound is good. I saw this on tv in the late sixties and early seventies. There is no way I could appreciate all the hard work that went into producing this show. It's all so a really dark show for kids!
" Oh relax, what can go wrong "... In every war movie there is the equivalent to one guard saying to the other " It's quiet tonight ". This is the time that the 'one man killer squad' pops up and finishes them. ( The brave marine taking out the nasty nazis or the evil baddy breaking into the good guy's offices )
Comments 44 captain Scarlett reminds me of the episode of the thunderbirds from the the 1964 and I have been a fan for fifty eight years. From Barbara Holmes blue circle to the left .
I had forgotten how really good these productions are. Wow! The sets are great. And the puppet masters are very good. Gives the characters a believable life. Is that Grant's voice for Captain Scarlet?? The story content keeps the viewer waiting to see what happens next. A clever diabolical enemy. Thoroughly committed. But the good guys are clever too. With great equipment. SIG. I love this stuff.
You mean 'Earth sworn enemies of the Mysterons' Who started the fire? We did, that said this series was way ahead of its time. I didn't realise how dark it was as a kid
"This is the voice of the Mysterons. We know that you can hear us Earthmen. You will pay for your unprovoked attack on our complex on Mars. We will be avenged. To prove how useless it is to resist we will destroy the city of London"
For all its stylishness, Captain Scarlet was hampered by the basic premise of aliens exacting revenge on earth. I wanted to see what Spectrum did on a daily basis in the 2060s without the involvement of the boring Mysterons.
In episode ONE they set the premise of their mission after being attacked first. And apparently like NOW the "world president" has absolutely NO diplomatic skills or intent to end the war.
Dark, indeed. But the 'Hypermarionation' of its successor left little to the imagination, while 'Scarlet' left a bit more, sometimes much more. And to the intended audience the point that it wasn't Thunderbirds came across 'five-by-five'. This episode in particular, right about to the time they find Macy, is pure suspense.

Amazing all of it, i doubt they could do half as good today
Captain Black looks like a very pissed off version of Dr. McCoy of Star Trek TOS.
This is favorite Captain Scarlett BIG BEN STRIKES AGAIN.I'm a truckdriver too Go Captain Scarlett.
Ed bishop, was everywhere back then, from Ufo to this as intro, voice over and captain blue! Brilliant

You mean 'Earth sworn enemies of the Mysterons' Who started the fire?
We did, that said this series was way ahead of its time. I didn't realise how dark it was as a kid
Alert the media!
If only Captain Black had held his fire another minute or so, Humans and Mysterons would be BFFs and we'd all be immortal.
Is this series predicting right-hand traffic in Britain? ? ?
The Mysterons produced a song that was a hit on the radio, "96 Tears".
Gather on ME!
Listen to Prem Rawat!
Captain Scarlet declares 13 to be his lucky number, but then loses 500 credits in roulette when the ball lands on 13 in a later episode.
Gerry Anderson was way ahead of his time...we all agree.. all the scenes are now relevant on 2020
.
It's predictive programming.
Who else's time was he ahead of, besides his own?

After the take off from the flight deck the next time we saw an Angel was in the epilogue, listening to Big Ben.
From the opening to about 13:05 the "street scenes" featuring Macy had to have been very meticulously planned and executed...in scale yet.
"Oh relax, what can go wrong?"
Without any mysterons , murphy's law always took care of that ... windscale, harrisburg, pripiat, fukujima...

This is a red alert not a stroll around the deck move great Mick Thailand
Another expat in Asia missing his UK childhood ?
Captain Scarlet is voiced by Cary Grant!
Francis Matthews is the voice of Captain Scarlet😊
I like the spirit of those Mysterons.
Has anyone got their number?
The intro narration is by Ed Bishop!
He is also captain blue.
If the driver could hear live and the radio, he should hear 24.
My lucky number
Why don't the Mysterons take control of the truck again later?
Good to see the boys out on a hot date at the end.
If they are defending London the steering wheel is on the wrong side.
13:15 This Is My Funny Scene In The Show. X
Suspense!! 😯
The Black Doll @23:57 is really beautiful and well done is she Captain Scarlet's Girlfriend ?
...she is. He's been out with white girls but since he tried black he 'won't go back.
20:03 "Move, b!+
Police driver in the car following the convoy sounds like Joe 90's Dad. Plus a rare episode where no one dies.
I don't think the lead police escort got off easy.
@@johcafra Likely they would have been hurt. How badly we don't know.
Wow

6:40 ....5G electronic circuit mentioned....Hmm, 5G is next generation wireless network technology.
.Again, Gerry was ahead of his time.
It's 5 key electronic circuit not 5g.
Puppet FRINGE
Never liked 'Captain Scarlet.'
