Seems odd sitting in the future they anticipated watching this nearly sixty years later, our technology is every bit as advanced as was predicted, but it's a great shame the rest of our real future isn't as nice as the sixties version, very happy days indeed.
Which masters of the episodes are they showing on Talkie Pictures TV? Are they the DVD remasters released by Carlton in the early 2000s which look rather dirty, the crappy cropped 16:9 HD remasters which were released on Blu-ray in the UK or the newer 4:3 HD remasters which haven't been released on Blu-ray in the UK? Though they are available in the UK on ITVX with the original unaltered mono soundtracks. I mainly ask as I'm at work on Saturdays and don't get to see them.
I'm 66, recently received my state pension. Thunderbirds was the greatest tv series for kids ever. Thank you Gerry Anderson and your team. So many happy memories.
Thunderbirds...inspired a whole generation of scientists and engineers. What have we got now to inspire the next generation - bake off and strictly come dancing! So pleased my childhood was in the 1960's / 1970's.
This was a no miss programme when i was a kid here in the uk, my kids bought me a dvd with all their episodes on for my 60th birthday, we are still kids at heart.
Мне 62. Но похоже я смотрел другой сериал- немецкий. Там летали на космических кораблях и космических мотоциклах. Не вспомню названия, но там тоже были куклы.
The teaser sequence is an astonishing bit of editing. Brought me out in goosebumps. I saw this movie in the cinema in 1966, sitting with my mum and gran. I was three. Loved all of it except those damn rock snakes. I still have the 'TV21' special that shows the making of the movie. Gran bought it for me at the cinema. Later in life, I could never understand why this movie was a flop. It was better made, and better looking than most other sci-fi movies of the era.
The film flopped, because Thunderbirds was a children’s TV series. The recent Barbie producers were careful to advertise it appropriately for an adult audience.
@@davidelliott5843- Lots of movies were made from childrens' properties - it was not an unusual occurrence. Films in the 1960's were not made as they are today, or advertised as they are nowadays; a movie like this was an event - It's one of the first movies I can think of, where a special, large format 'Making of' book was produced: the next time I saw that was the 'Special Collectors' Edition' made for Star Wars, in 1977. In 1966, Thunderbirds , the TV show, was massive. Although made in colour, UK audiences saw the show in monochrome, as we would not get affordable colour TV until a few years later, so being able to see Thunderbirds in full colour, should have been a huge draw, but somehow it wasn't. People are very fickle. Barbie was made as an movie for adults - It's cast is hardly 'kid friendly' now, is it?
You are being very kind regarding an adult audience to a doll pic. (Dear Me emoji) And I'm a rather old, original Barbie girl that truly does not understand any film thing nonsense. Thunderbirds is in a very special place in so many, many hearts....and it was home grown. 😊
I think it was a flop for the kids and some of the teenagers who were forming into the later major cinema going public in the UK, was partly due to a misunderstanding of what music stars they were interested in. Cliff Richard and The Shadows! They were my aunties favourite at that time. I suppose they couldn't get The Beatles due to finances. Chopping the big bit at the end would have certainly made it more palatable to me as an 11-year-old at the time. Perhaps their inclusion was due to them being Sylvia's pop band flavour then. Who can tell?
Everything about "Thunderbirds Are Go" is what the future use to look like. The theme music was written with such pomp and circumstance that it makes me salute. Supercar, Fireball XL5 and this were my favorites. Even had the Supercar lunchbox. It was a great time to be a 60's kid.
As a kid I couldn't wait for Wednesday afternoon TV after getting home from school. Thunderbirds' first showings (in 1965) began at 5.25pm and broke off for the evening news at about 6.00, leaving the audience hanging on until it resumed for the actual rescue. "Scene at 6.30" came on after that. My school friends and I spent the whole of the following day discussing the previous night's episode, eagerly waiting for the next. To this day, it remains my favourite TV programme. Footnote: The Daily Express ran an article a few days before it came to the small screen. There were photos of the some of marionettes and the machines...FAB1 was highlighted, and it totally blew me away. I still remember the excitement when I saw it...great days. 😊
I like the new Thunderbirds very much but this Thunderbirds always does it for me l alway love watching this tv series and the two films 😊even though I am 60 years old it still good to watch 😊👍👏👏
I think kids miss out these days i grew up with thunderbirds still love it jerry and syvia should be very proud pf there legacy an era never again to be replicated sadly
I too grew up with the Gerry Anderson as a child from Supercar to Captain Scarlet. You may grow oold physically, but can still stay young mentally with memories. Many thanks for the upload. FAB.
im 64 always loved thunderbirds since i was 5 or 6 years of age back in the mid sixies this is the first time ive ever since the film really enjoyed it truely fab
Oh, Wow! I'd forgotten how good this adventure was, all those years later, and I was still glued to the screen, to think I was only a year old when this was first aired. How time flies, now I'm all grown up and kinda on the way to retiring…! 'Gees!' What a quality version though, thanks for posting… “This is FAB!” 😆💯👌👍
Watched these when I was a nipper, but the moustaches and beards at the end is classic. Always good to know that even International Rescue has a great sense of humour.
AH MAN IM A 55 YEAR OLD BOY I LOVE ALL THESE FILMS LOVE THE CGI CAPTAIN SCARLET TOO 💙😀❤️📽️🎬😊 SECRET SERVICE IS ALSO BRILLIANT ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I remember building the various ships with my Lego in the 70s. Particularly Thunderbird 2, with its three parts: ship, middle container and small underwater shuttle. So much fun!
I'm 70 years-old and I think that this edit is so much better than the original movie. So, a big well done to you for bringing back such lovely memories of an amazing programme. Thanks to you, Thunderbirds Are Go.
My father flew with the Thunderbirds in WW2 his Canadian squadron no 426 were known as such . I remember as a kid he had a recording of the RAF massed band playing the tune which always makes my hair stand on end .
So good. Thanks for keeping the TBirds alive. Love the way everything always EXPLODES (often just before actual impact! 🙂) Great show, ahead of it's time in so many ways.
In 1966 I was 9yrs old and watched all the Anderson shows, but TB IR is what made me become an engineer, we used to go over all the schematics they published in comic books explaining the TB craft even if it was all baloney as it was also for Startrek and other scifi shows.
I loved this show as a kid 60 years ago. At the time I did not understand that some of the puppets were modeled after the characters on Bonanza; such as Lorne Greene and Michael Landon and Hoss.
I remember seeing some episodes of the original Thunderbirds (as repeats on TV in the mid-late 1970's as a kid) and was impressed with the simple effects and puppetry used in each scene. Closed captions would be nice though for people who are hard of hearing.
When I was a child at age 4~7, I watched the show in TVB channel n Hong Kong. It was amazing that I can still remember some images which I am very enjoed it! Good Job!
The main issues with the original movie IMHO: Not enough use of the International Rescue craft; the ridiculously self indulgent, (by the design team) overlong dream sequence and (although i love it!) the drawn out Zero-X assembly sequence. This is great by the way!
Found this by luck and just devoured it. I grew up with Thunderbirds and then my kids did as well. Thaks for this - better than so much of the **** we get pushed at us these days :)
Excellent Remastering especially in the wide screen. Brought back many memories of old and new TBs! Only thing I would have liked would be subtitles. But an excellent job.
When watching this again, it dawned on me this would have been the first time anyone would have seen it in full colour and then they were subjected to 90 minutes of utter boredom! Still think your version is miles better!
I flew on zero x back in the 70 s, always thought it was a bit plasticy and smelt of glue, but it was an amazing flight all the same. Great memories though 😂😂✈️✈️🤟💯👍📽️
The Thunderbirds are the one that I used to watch when I was little kid back way back. I am 56 years old. In case anyone's not noticed. The original series has just started a brand new run on Talking Pictures TV at 3pm on Saturday afternoons.
Thanks for that! … 👍👍
I have the whole series on DVD along with Captain Scarlet and Jo 90. 🤗

I'm not far behind you, enjoyed watching Thunderbirds as youngsters still do ❤
This take me back a bit to my childhood, the world was a lot simpler then and a hell of a lot more sane. Great days.

Kids TV is on separate channels nowadays
I’m 23 and I love this show! I use to watch it all the time as a kid with my father
That music. Takes one right back to the weekends watching the episodes. Pure nostalgia. Then there are the machines.
Who needs Hollywood when we've got Thunderbirds👍😊

Not for the last time, a Zero X mission in which they fire first provokes a war with otherwise peaceful aliens.
