Hello Sorin, it is very easy to extract the EC dump portion on the bios. Usually you just search "ENE" or "IT," "ITE" on the bios dump and you will find the exact same SIO block, usually most ec dump are 128k. Lets say when you search for "ITE" you will see it appear at 21 0050, the block will start couple of lines before at 21 0000 in this example. then if the dump is 128kB (128x1024 bytes) this correspond in Hex to a size block of 20000. You need to select and copy data from 21 0000 to 22 FFFF this portion when paste in new hex file will have a size of 128kB.
so in this case if the EC dump is contained in the bios , does that mean that the bios can autoprogram the EC chip so that we can skip the programming?

25:54 Sorin I do a little trick to solder these chips, I first solder one or two pins with my fine tip iron, then I adjust chip completely and then use hot air on opposite side of soldered pin. This way the chip doesn't slip and get soldered perfectly.
I love how you can use your time machine so that instead of waiting 3 weeks the next part of the video is there immediately ;) It would certainly be interesting to see how the old chip behaves in the programmer.
Hey, Sorin.. if you want to solder that chip in one take, just use the soldering iron to solder only ONE pin and then you can use the tweezers and the hot air to solder it all. Works every time
I can't imagine the sheer amount of patience needed to be a repair technician. Very impressive and relatable. Especially when you said, "the story of my life" with frustration. Yes Sorin so true, as any product from China is even worse than Russian Roulette as its Chinese Roulette, when you buy anything from China! That MSI Katana GF66 11UG does not have any lights for power or charging, the only RGBs are on the keyboard. MSI introduced this Katana GF66 11UG laptop in May of 2021. The exterior of the simple, yet elegant laptop was designed by the illustrator Nagano Tsuyoshi, an artist who is also known in Japan for his Star Wars covers. According to MSI, the Katana laptop was created with the same high craftsmanship that is also necessary for creating the famous Katana Japanese swords. One of the configurations of this laptop comes with the Intel Core i7-11800H, 16 GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070, and 512 GB NVMe SSD that promises a gaming high performance. Hi. My acer notebook suddenly shut down and I realized a tiny drop of water on the IO chip it has the exact IO chip ene the drop was probably slipped from an ice cream package i put over touch pad. Then I used a paper towel to speak the drop, drop was over the Black plastic part then I also paper toweled around it. After an hour I powered on the acer logo came then it shot down again. How likely that the chip is short circuited? What can you think the problem might be? Since acer logo came I thought the chip should be Okay but then why it shot down? Now I unplugged the notebook and planning to power it tomorrow. Any comment will be great. Thanks
good day to you sir i have a question for you is there a way to make laptop auto start in a power cut the laptop dont have the features in the bios i dont have battery for the laptop is there a way to power laptop from a 12 volt battery
A laptop nowadays needs 19v or somewhere around the 19v, look at the label on the back how much is input. 12v will definitely not work ,or you need to make something to crank up the 12v.

Also this can happen in BIOS and windows. Some other details: It appears that as the shutdowns become more frequent, the laptop does not want to recover and keeps getting worse. Sometimes, after these power cuts the laptop does not even turn on, or charge. It needs to be BIOS reset.
