Everything I've said in the Dark Empire video applies here as well. While the art direction isn't on par with the other two volumes, I still like how this ended. Palpatine was just so desperate in living on, but all of that amounted to nothing and he implodes and lost all connection to the Force. That's the one thing I like about this arc, he may have returned, but he slowly lost all of that power and the others saw him as just a Sad soul who failed to learn his way and accept his end. It shows a natural progression that the monster that has reined for so long has lost everything, his control, his throne, his power and all of his connection to the Force.
I hated the idea of Palpatine coming back, even before disney did it so badly, but having now watched all 3 of these stories, I was wrong. This was really well done.
Pretty funny, Wedge is telling Redv2 to cut the chatter after he said "Look at the size of that thing". Just like Red leader told him (Wedge) at the battle of the first Death Star.
We really did. Thrawn was a perfect pre-packaged Trilogy and Dark Empire would have made a perfect Duology followup (DE1 then DE 2+3) And then Jedi Academy and so on, all the way through the Saga of Darth Caedus
Way beyond better than the three Starwars Disney movies that didn't follow the Dark Horse comics or the novels that I still enjoy reading to this very day!
I wish they had been able to flesh this ending more. it was cut shrt due to funding issues if i remember right. It was supposed to b e about five parts instead it got cut to two. Still its not a terrible ending and still better than what we got in the movies.
I've noticed in this trilogy the Jedi are treated a little more like a race of people rather than a political/reglious order, which is interesting and I guess makes sense for expanded universe material made before the prequels
@@WestIndianAK nah I mean that’s what the modern understanding becomes but in the 90s the expanded universe definitely treats it as a hereditary thing!
@@Acesstricker the prequels explain the hereditary element. Part of the reason Old Order Jedi were mostly forbidden to marry is _because_ of the hereditary nature of the force. 38:27 this score should've been used as a lament that the clone wars is truly over, the traitor Palpatine is dead, justice has been restored to the fallen clone troopers and fallen jedi whom lost their lives because of Sidious's actions and a loving father became subhuman because of the Sith ideology's lies, now they are free, thanks to not only Anakin's actions, but to a kings final act of heroism ua-cam.com/video/Qu-TXqSoJLQ/v-deo.html
Fool. You do realise that this comic was made before the prequels were made and had to go on a lot of assumptions of what was the clone wars and the role of the clones. In this and the Thrawn Trilogy it was assumed that the clones were the agressors and that the republic fought against them. Even anakin's fall was not known how it happened or why.

In the comics, there was a ysanna, Jem's brother, called Rayf. He briefly appeared in DE2 audiodrama but was basically removed from the audiodramas. He died in this comic for some reason; i wish he lived. At least Kam Solusar survived and lived till the end of the EU
@@Ale-dd3ek I seriously got the impression that they did more than kiss 🤭 But, Jem's sudden death here makes it make a little more sense why Luke falls in love with a Force Ghost in the near future. At least the dead can't die 🤣
Allways loved this series' artwork but the writing is just ridiculous at times. Not quite as bad as crimson tho'. It's just very appearant how early on all this stuff was.
It's possible the audio dramas were done only with a script, and since the voices are only different on characters who aren't specified as male or female in the text, like the spy, were different because of a laps in cohesion. That's just my speculation though. I have no idea how they went about working on these back in the 90s. It's just one of those things.

Same. Also like how music was added, as, when I first heard versions of this, I heard no score.
