    hey, been watching your videos as I am trying to setup FlyElise, I have managed to set it all up but when I enable desktop warping I notice a big drop in quality, its less sharp and more blurry. is this normal or can this be improved by maybe repositioning projector or some settings?

    • @alpasimulation5485
      @alpasimulation5485  6 місяців тому

      In terms of quality, you will not have the same quality you see on your pc monitor, but you should see it quite good..Try to use the Windows warping instead of desktop warping (depending on your setting you may need one or the other one). I have my graphic settings on dlss and set on "performance". If you can, maybe change it to "quality" to improve the image better but your fps will be reduced. Also, note that for each extra window you create in mfs2020 you will lose 7-10 fps. I have 2 extra windows because I use the main as my third one and doing so i lost almost 20 fps so cannot really increase the graphic much, else i will start having stutters and poor fps..Overall, i managed to get the ratio quality/fps acceptable and it looks pretty good

      I have 3 1080p projectors, but when looking at the sim without warping enabled everything looks fairly crisp but when I enable warping the same image becomes blurry. I think I might need to adjust projecto, maybe its trying to stretch imgage or adjust too much and it affects quality...@@alpasimulation5485

    Excellent Video! 👍 Unfortunately the SW does not work here. Creating an Display group, make all settings, tunnel looks good on beamer. But on MSFS PC as soon as I load the exported config, all looks worse than before. All zoomed in, nothing is aligned etc. Regardless if I keep the display group, ungroup it or swap the multi1,2,3.procalib files btw. the projectors.

      Hello, remember to set the zoom value on the Immersive Display Pro, and to set it to "automatically on". If this is done, no matter what zoom level MFS is it will follow the zoom of the Display Pro. Also, i suppose you have change the setting in the General Option / Camera as shown on my video?

Unfortunately the manuals are not very accurate at some points, and their support is absolutely not willing to answer specific questions. I had to ask 4 times for one - not helpful - answer. Instead of helping with hints like you did, they send me links to well known manuals again and again. Very bad experience. Nevertheless: thx for your input and good luck for your project!

    Why do you merge the three screens using nvidia surround first then at the end set them all back as individual screens ? I was told by flyelise that it should be configured as non surround, as if doing with P3d. Can I not just calibrate as 3 separate screens? Great video I will try your method and see if ti works for me.

      I don't know what FlyElise meant by that, but you can read their manual. It explained why the calibration must be done in nvidia surround, but once it is completed you have to turn it off. Remember, the nvidia surround is only for the initial calibration, that's all

      @alpasimulation5485  4 місяці тому

      All the three screen are zoom at the correct level for the calibration, the zoom level is given by Immersive Calibration Pro. You can try to zoom out but then you need to re-adjust manually each screen. There is a weird side effect if you do that, and that is that the more you zoom out, the more the middle screen rotate to the right. I tried once to zoom out and although I manage to have all 3 screen warped and blended, it was very strange, as the "crab effect" from the pilots seats was much higher

      Hello, a projectors system can never match the high graphic quality of a TV/Monitor, so if you are looking for quality go ahead with that type of system. However, what you will miss out is the immersion, as TV are not good in recreating the depth that projectors can do, hence you will feel a less immersive experience.

    Grazie per il video.
    Il passaggio da P3D a MSFS è finalmente possibile anche per noi "homecockpit", ma rimane ancora qualche punto da chiarire.
    Non capisco perchè hai calibrato il display settando in surround mode e poi sei tornato ai tre display separati. Io in P3d avevo settato in surround perchè con viewsgroup su tre display avevo una perdita evidente in fps. con MSFS invece ho calibrato con tre display separati fin da subito.
    Ora sto allestendo un PC server con caratteristiche tecniche avanzate per sfruttare appieno MSFS e mi piace molto il tuo setup con due schede video. In effetti lasciando il desktop di windows e il main screen del simulatore su una scheda e riversare le tre viste esterne sull'altra semplifica molto e migliora senz'altro le performances grafiche del sistema.
    La cosa più irritante resta il fatto che con gli upgrade ad ogni nuova release bisogna resettare i valori dello zoom .
    Un'ultima domanda : se non ho capito male per mantenere il main screen del simulatore sul monitor collegato alla seconda scheda video hai dovuto disattivare la flag "reuse default msfs view" ?
    Cosa pensi dell'ultima versione del model di Prosim ?
    ciao e complimenti ancora per il video

    • @alpasimulation5485
      @alpasimulation5485  Рік тому

      Ciao, ti rispondo ad ogni domanda che hai chiesto.
      Il surround mode su Nvidia e' necessario farlo soltanto quando devi usare Immersive Calibration Pro. Per entrare nella calibrazione, i 3 display devono essere in surround perche' devono comparire come un singolo display. Sara' poi calibration pro a dividere questo singolo display in 3, ed effettuare poi la calibrazione. Una volta finito il tutto dovrai quindi togliere il surround mode. Questo processo e' mandatorio secondo il manuale di Fly Elise. Se riesci a calibrare il tutto tenendo tutti i display separati ben venga, alla fine e' il risultato che conta. Io mi sono attenuto alle informazioni di Fly Elise perche' la calibrazione e' molto difficile e non volevo complicarmi ulteriormente la vita :)
      Per il valore dello zoom, se hai immesso lo zoom nel Calibration Pro e attivato "Automatic on" allora ogni volta che aprirai Calbration Pro lo zoom si aggiustera' automaticamente, non dipendera' piu' da MFS. Infatti, su MFS puoi mettere lo zoom che vuoi ma alla fine si riaggiustera' automaticamente seguendo quello immesso nel Calibration Pro, come ho fatto vedere nel video.
      Per quanto riguarda il main screen, hai detto giusto. Disattivando la flag "reuse default msfs view" ti crea un'altra finestra centrale da usare per il proiettore, mentre quella centrale da dove poter aprire opzioni e tutto rimane sullo schermo del pc. Questo e' ottimo anche per chi ha un televisore collegato all'esterno del simulatore e vorrebbe far vedere il volo a persone esterne al simulatore.
      Non so quale versione del model di Prosim ti stia referendo, l'ultima volta che ho usato prosim e' stato qualche settimana fa ed avevo il modello nuovo, non so se ne e' uscito uno nuovo. Per ora comunque mi funziona tutto, pero' le luci esterne Taxi lights e Landing lights non mi funzionano, devo vedere bene da cosa dipende.

Anyhow, i am running the 3 projectors in super scaling 8K and I have around 32 fps on average on everything ultra except the TOD which is around 300 I think. Hi friend , you speak un min 22:00 about "Reuse Default MSFS view" and put this in off.... I understand that it is much more convenient to have a fourth window as the Main window, but I see that moving from 3 to 4 screens is a very big load in terms of frames. I have a 4090 with a 5950x, and with 4 screens all on MED, at large airports, I almost don't reach 20 frames. The fourth screen is a very big drag. My question is whether the warping calibration is correct if only 3 projector windows are used and the Main window is one of them. In this way, the system gains more than 10 frames. I would like to know your opinion, my friend. Thanks.
    Additionally, I would like to know if, by removing the fourth screen, there is any way to access the experimental multi-monitor menu to make small adjustments to properly align the image, since the menu covers the entire view. Any tricks?

      Hello, you are absolutely right, the more windows you open, and you lose around 10 fps/window. In the video originally I was using 4 windows, but then I changed it, although, did not do a new video about that.
      Right now I am using the main as a window, and 2 more for the other 2 views, in total 3 windows.
      The warping will be correct if you do everything right, especially during calibration, and yes you can access the main window to do few adjustments in the experimental setting simply by bringing the main window back to your pc desktop. To do that, press on your keyboard Win+Shift+Arrow key. The arrow key is either the left or right, depending on how you set up your monitor. Press the combination each time until the main window appears on your desktop, after which you can enter into options/experimental and make the adjustments for windows 1 and 2 as necessary

    • @alpasimulation5485
      @alpasimulation5485  Рік тому

      That's the hardest thing to eliminate. At the moment i am playing with different settings from Nvidia to get to an acceptable transition where the projectors overlap. You can adjust easily for day light, but then the overlap is too bright in the evening. If you adjust it for evening flights, it is too dark for the daylight. I only recommend to change slightly the setting during the calibration (Fly Elise) as I noticed that what you see during the calibration is not always the same after.
      As soon as i find a optimal solution i will make a video, for the moment it's about trial and error until you get an acceptable overlap. I must say that my camera actually show it worse than it is. Looking at it with naked eyes you don't see much difference in the overlap

    Hi, thanks for this really helpful video. When I do it with four windows, as you describe it, it also works reasonably well. But I would like to get rid of the fourth window and have the main screen, with the menu, as the center projector image. I guess then I need to put the values for this into the ProSim camera config file, right? But I am struggling with the values. The values used for the former fourth window do not work. So somehow the InitialPbh values need to be calculated. Any idea how this would work?

    • @alpasimulation5485
      @alpasimulation5485  9 місяців тому

      When you are ready to extract the calib files, you can opt for "mfs main window" where it will give you the values for 2 windows plus the main mfs window. This is how mine is set up. However, the calibration does not put the main window at the center of the projector, if that's what you want you have to copy/paste the value given in the mfs single file on each window and in the prosim737 config file, but from my experience is better not to play around with those values and leave it exactly as the calibration gives you. On my setting for example, the main window is on the left view (1st peojector). If i need to change something in mfs, i move the window to the main pc, change what i need to change, and move it back to the projector, literally 5 seconds

      @@alpasimulation5485 I contacted Fly Elise support and they confirmed that currently it is not possible to have the main window anywhere else than the 1st or leftmost projector, if the main window is reused. So I tried it exactly how you described it, but the overlapping areas with only three windows do not match at all. And of course, I cannot adjust the center window, otherwise it would not be centered anymore. So I would have to adjust the camera config instead, as I understand. Probably a very tedious task, since you need to constantly restart the simulator. When I get time, I might try it though. For now, I am fine with four windows, which is not the most performant option of course. Thanks for your answer!

      Hello, and thank you for the comment. I am pretty sure the problem is due to each projector assigned to the wrong multicalib file. If you have 3 projectors (proj1, proj2, proj3) and 3 multicalib files, you need to check that the correct file is assigned to the correct projector. This means that multicalib1 does not always go to proj1, and multicalib2 does not always go to proj2 and so on..the order of assignment should follow the exact layout of your projectors during the calibration.
      My configuration is for example as follow:
      Proj1 - multicalib1
      Proj2 - multicalib3
      Proj3 - multicalib2

      @@kickoff3312 Hello, it's hard to analyze the issue without being there, all i can say is this:
      you have 3 projectors, let's call them Proj1, Proj2, Proj3.
      You have 3 multiprob cal files, let's call them cal1, cal2, cal3.
      Depending on how you set up your projectors, you need to assign the correct cal file to each of them. Very rarely the cal1 goes to Proj1, cal2 to Proj2 and so on. The easiest way is to keep the projectors as they are (not in Nvidia surround mode), call and try all the possible combinations:
      Cal1, Cal2, Cal3
      Cal1, Cal3, Cal2
      Cal3, Cal1, Cal2
      Cal3, Cal2, Cal1
      Cal2, Cal1, Cal3
      Cal2, Cal3, Cal1
      and see which one is the correct one. You will know because all 3 projectors are perfectly aligned, warped etc... If you have the correct combination, and you have set up the correct zoom and overwrite the user.cfg file with the new windows data, you should not need to do anything, it should all be correctly aligned and warped.

    Hi, thanks for making this video for MSFS! I'm looking at doing something similar with my cockpit set up in MSFS, and I was just curious which fly elise softwares you had to purchase for this. I've been doing some research on their site, and I'm thinking I would need the Immersive Display Pro Ultimate license (includes Calibration Pro), is that what you went with? Also, did you purchase the Designer Pro software when planning all of this out, or is that unnecessary? The part I'm a little fuzzy on is whether there's an exact science to when it comes to building the curved screen, or if you just build what will fit your space, and then you use Display Pro/Calibration Pro to make it all work. Thanks again!

    • @alpasimulation5485
      @alpasimulation5485  Рік тому +1

      Hello, yes I have the ultimate license because it includes Calibration Pro which I believe helps a lot. However, you should know that the Display Pro on its own has some features that can help you in the calibration and warping, so you don't need to go all the way to the ultimate license.
      I did not use Designer Pro at all.
      In terms of screen, I purchased from Simpit but you can now find better quality for cheaper price I recon. If you opt for building it yourself, you can build any size, the calibration pro will help you in calibrating everything perfectly.
      One final tip: if you are going for full simulator like mine, ensure you have extra space to move around etc... but most importantly the height of the ceiling, as the projectors will need to be installed much higher than anticipated so that the shadow of the simulator is not reflected on the screens. Hope this helps you a little bit, good luck with the construction

    • @skytation
      @skytation Рік тому

      Yeah, my ceilings are going to be a problem. My sim room is in the basement, and those ceilings are barely 8ft high. I have already decided that I am going to go with ultra short throw projectors that sit on the floor. We already have one in our theater room and I love it, and so I figured they should work perfectly for this set up. They only need to sit about 14 inches from the bottom edge of the screen, and they sit on the floor. I think this will also help in terms of having to adjust the projectors every now and then from them moving ever so slightly when hung from the ceiling because those wood rafters can expand/shrink with changes in humidity. Obviously it is not a ton of movement, but from what I've heard even just a tiny little bit of movement can cause issues with alignment in the warped/overlap areas.
      Thanks for the info! I will probably go with the ultimate license just to avoid any heartache I may encounter having to try and do something on my own that Calibration Pro could easily handle hahaha, especially now that I know I don't have to buy designer pro.@@alpasimulation5485

      Ok, good to know..for the ultra throw projectors, pay attention because from what I can see majority of them are laser technology. Laser projectors don't work well on curve screen. They are beautiful in front of a flat surface but on a curve screen they give weird shape and it's impossible to calibrate. I also started with a 4K laser ultra short throw but had to abandon the idea since it was not working for me and after extensive research I found out that lasers don't work well on curved screen. Just thought to give you a hint before spending a fortune, but if you do manage to do it then let me know for sure

      Oh wow, really? Ok that is great to know, I didn't know that! Phew, you may have just saved me a bunch of money hahaha. I did email fly elise and just asked them if UST's like that would work with their software and they "believed" they should, but now I'm not so sure. I'm glad I already have one in the theater room because it'll at least let me test it first. If it truly doesn't work I'll find a way to make ceiling mounted projectors work. Thanks again for all the info!@@alpasimulation5485

      So, the short throw projectors will work on the floor with fly Elise or do they still need to be hung? I got the part about Lasers don’t Warp well.

      I need to make videos with a better camera. I have an HD camera from Sony but I just don't like the end result, it makes the projector image looks blurry or washed out

      @@alpasimulation5485 it’s a informative video to me not a visual video 😃. Really great job. Very clear instructions. You’re using 4K projectors?

      Hey, I am trying to solve the crab view that each pilot see while flying. The runway is centered with the simulator but each pilot see the runway as if they are crabbing. I know that you found a system to fix this, would you be happy to share it?

      @@alpasimulation5485 hey! Try holding down shift and tapping arrow ➡️ for captain view. Then hold down shift and tapping ⬅️ for FO and then same thing for center. This worked for me. Keep in mind this only fixes view for one person at a time.
