    The lack of peripheral vision has always been a bit of a deal killer for me on flight sims and my nascar/racing sims. I am hoping we are getting close to over coming that with triple screen set ups with decent performance and graphics. It could happen. I remember the dial up internet days and look how far we have come from that.

      I'm sure we are there now. If I can get acceptable performance with three 32" TVs it will be a great solution, especialy as my computer is low-spec by today's standards!

    Very interesting but, to my liking, hardly useful. What would be useful is to have different things on different monitors. i.e. central with the plane, another with the FMS and last, other with the Map. Any hints of how to do it? Thks. in advance and good landings.

      You can drag any instrument that can be popped out onto its own screen. That's how I am doing the GPS here. (The other instruments are running outside of MSFS.) Of course this depends on which instruments have been created that way. In case you don't know, if you hold down the ALT-GR (right ALT) key, you will see a + sign in a circle when you put the mouse over an instrument that can be popped out. (You then click on it to pop it out).

    After watching your "WideView Aspect&zoom" some years ago I knew you would be the man that would guide me (again) through setting up multi-screen, this time in MSFS. I just started using MSFS a few days ago , still have to set up everything inclusive my multi-screen.
    So my question is related to that, namely, how did you get the instruments on the screen below? In my FSX I have the same set-up with my fourth screen below with the instrument panel. I achieved this without any additional soft or hardware in FSX. Can I do the same with MSFS? And if so, how? Cheers!

    • @AlmostAviation
      @AlmostAviation  Рік тому +1

      No, I don't think you can do it in MSFS without additional software. I am using Air Manager, from Sim Innovations, which is a great solution. It can run on the same computer or, as here, on a separate computer for better performance. The down side is you do have to buy it!

    Is there a way to lock windows on monitors so when msfs boots up the set windows always come up? Also to be able to do 'master', 'slave' would be Outstanding!

    • @AlmostAviation
      @AlmostAviation  Рік тому

      It already does this automatically. You can't save different configurations as profiles, but the last setup always comes up when you restart the sim. I don't know what you mean by master and slave in this context.

    Can you turn off the 3D/2D cockpit like it was in FSX? If so then maybe do it, you will see more.

    • @AlmostAviation
      @AlmostAviation  Рік тому

      I'm not sure you can do that. There is a 'home cockpit mode' but it doesn't seem to do anything useful. You can fake it by setting your eyepoint outside of the aircraft, but this becomes a problem when manouevring close to the ground because you're not sittng in the right place! I don't in any case think turning off the VC view is an unconditional win because unless the geometry of the displays is exactly right, the outside view is disorienting. In the setup shown here, for example, it's only really usable because the visible wing struts and cockpit interior constantly remind me in which direction I am looking in the side views. Likewise, using TrackIR without the visible panel and aircraft structure doesn't work as well. So it's a continual experiment in compromise...

    • @AlmostAviation

    Always looking forward to your video's, loved your twin otter simulator. I love the twin otter, unfortunately the sound is terrible with the new MSFS otter, I did hear Aerosoft got new samples hope they fix it soon.

    • @AlmostAviation
      @AlmostAviation  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, for a while they had acceptable sound if not great, but one of th eupdates messed it up and it's been terrible ever since. Maybe the new sounds will rescue it, though it's a pretty poor simulation all in all. The 'invisible spoilers' implementation has made it really poor to fly on the approach :(

      @@AlmostAviation is that like a separate window?

    • @AlmostAviation
      @AlmostAviation  Рік тому

      @@faceplant755 Yes. In the default aircraft you will find that if you hold down the right-hand ALT key and click the mouse on the GPS (or on some other instuments), it will open up in a new window that you can then reposition, including dragging it to another screen if you have one connected. Just google 'msfs popout' and you will find more info.

    • @lewymartain8267
      @lewymartain8267 Рік тому

      Sorry. As your Graphics card and system feeds the monitors with information if your system is slow or down a bit you get 1 monitor looking great then you get a gradual decline of quality and it shows terrible in your Left monitor which you must have as number 3. A word of advise. your defeating the object of multiple monitors by fixing them in such a terrible angle . this will also make your GPU lag and work harder. Thank you.

      @AlmostAviation  Рік тому

    In X-Plane 11/12 you can set up 1 master and 2 slaves computers to eliminate FPS dip from having so many windows open. Sim Cockpit builders understand this method. I will be glad when MSFS catches up. This is why I have both one for adventure and one for training.

    • @AlmostAviation
