Polish person here. It is interesting to consider other factors. Lithuania and Poland had a rocky history (with Poland presenting parts of their colonialist history as 'union' which is not the view Lithuanians share to say the least) and it might have been a factor in the brewing animosy toward Polish priest. Until 1956 (death of Stalin) the secret police in Poland would arrest, torture and blackmail anyone who fought in second world war. Families of those who were able to escape west would be under surviliance and constant harrassment. People would often be dragged into cooperating with comunists against their will, forced to spy or provide information under threat. It is not impossible for a similar thing to happen in Lithuania during that time, priests being known focus due to their trusted image in local communities. After the archives in Poland opened in 90's many people were shocked to discover how many of their neighbors or family were involved (willingly or under blackmail/threat) in spying for the communists. Those were dark times.

Martynellis may still have had close relatives in Lithuania, which possibly led to him being blackmailed by the Soviet agents who apparently caused trouble in the Polish and Lithuanian communities. This shows how low the Soviets stooped to browbeat and threaten the former refugees, causing much fear, stress and worry amongst people who thought that they had at last escaped the paranoid communist dictatorships of their home countries. It is nearly obvious that Martynellis had something to do with Father Borynski's disappearance and probable murder - why else would he have purchased such large amounts of Natrium Hydroxide, which can be used to dissolve human bodies ? Martynellis' whole demeanour and his peculiar stories seem to point directly to him as being an accomplice at least, if not the prime perpetrator in connection with Father Borynski's death. What a tragic and horrible fate for a brave man who fought for the Western Allies in World War II but who had to give up hope of ever seeing his home country again, at least as long as the Cold War went on and the Iron Curtain existed. We know now that it wasn't until after 1989 that Poland was liberated from Soviet servitude, 46 years after the brave Priest's death. He would have been very old at that time, had he lived so long, but he would certainly have deserved to see all that happen after so many years as a refugee in a foreign country. RIP Father Borynski.

Literally playing God. That’s why it blows my mind that people go to priests for confession and for forgiveness. Jesus literally died on the cross that tore the separation that we had from God so we can approach the Lord in prayer and confession with confidence. Priests and the Pope are mere men. They are not God on Earth. It’s beyond blasphemous to promote and preach going to men for forgiveness instead of God Himself.

@@gigglyme2001 A Priest is a mere man, The Person seeking absolution, repentance prays to God first. Then confesses to the Priest and the Priest gives absolution, and an act of contrition. This puts the Penitent in a state of Grace to receive the body and blood of Christ. We believe it isn't symbolic but in the body of a believer it becomes the body and blood of Christ.

No form of Christianity actually follows the tenets of Christ. So I've never understood why people buy into the religion and not the teachings of a great man that we have historical records of. In Christ himself is the only part of Christianity that has historical records of. Essentially it's just the current mythology.
Don't bother trying to convince me, I am not Christian, nor will I ever be. I simply respect the man that sacrificed himself to the Romans so others wouldn't have to suffer.
That by the way is the true definition of a hero.

15:03 That matchstick warning, in original, did not include the word "priest". The words, according to the press article you displayed, were "Milcz klecho". That second term is an extremely rude, vile, and offensive way of referring to a priest, used only by those who truly hate the one they talk to. For example, the agents and operators of the 4th division of Polish, communist secret police (UB, later SB) used the term "klecha" on daily basis. That division was solely dedicated to harass & combat the Catholic church.

After the second Great War, Poland was a major player in Cold War politics. Specifically for the Russians, who are Poland’s neighbors and have a long and tumultuous relationship.
Not that it’d be unfounded for him to be a threat to the Soviets, many claim that both the solidarity movement and the Catholic Church did a great deal in resisting Soviet control until they could get independence. I’ve even heard it posited that Pope J. Paul II ascended merely because of his polish background, and that it would be a thorn in the side for Soviet interests, and for control of such a strategic territory as Poland. To many not involved in trade union anti communist activities, older men and ladies; the Pope a polish one at that, was a sign of independence and nationalism -liberty. So I wouldn’t it past KGB to plant a religious figure who was ultimately loyal to his Soviet handlers, or to disappear one who resisted their pressure.
Who knows though, could be he was a secret KGB mole and the Brits killed him. could be he wandered off a dock by accident and floated to the bottom. He may have even went to America and changed his name to Americanize, quit the seminary and lived a atypical life. Let’s hope the later. Hey

I feel that as a Polish woman, who risked so much under German occupation of her country, she could hardly have been happy to have seen the Nazi's replaced by the Soviet Union and as a member of the aristocracy, she would not have found much welcome if she had returned. That she did not, despite so overwhelming patriotism, says quite a bit. I feel very certain Ive heard of her involved in anti Soviet activities..but to what extent, is the question. Highly likely our KGB defector who claimed the kill but was later found to not be in England at the time was taking credit for it in order to add to a dossier of information in exchange for citizenship and making the defection possible. It's possible the agent's list of worthwhile information may have been a bit on the thin side and the agent made all sorts of claims regarding cases he was aware of but didn't actually take part in.
If so I think we can safely say that indeed the priest was killed and disposed of by the KGB or some other communist organisation from behind the iron curtain.

Ultra CNC I’m sorry. I just get a little cynical hearing about all the children abused by the clergy, and how the church covered it up, seeming to say that they didn’t see it as too bad of a sin, and I’ve attempted the bible a few times. Some of the verses are beautiful and thoughtful. Many demonize women like the story where the there teenagers got their father drunk and raped him, sorry can’t recall their wicked reasons, and I know that at many points in biblical history slaves were not people, but property. Can you have an affair with your bookshelf? No? Good. So when Enter Leader’s Name In Area said that the heathen practice of adultery was forbidden, there are sick people in every society. And these suck people had access to many people shaped furniture who had to do whatever they want.
I went to catholic school. I was raised catholic. The right catholic. I was in a small town that wasn’t religious. I don’t know what my neighbours believed. But most went to public school. No issue. When I was in grade 3, both schools combined, 1/2 catholic 1/2 public. We went to church, we learned God’s love and forgiveness. We loved our priest and our teachers. Then our bubble broke, we moved and I went to a ‘real catholic school’. I love the God of my childhood. I believe the bible is a group of men who got together and wrote their version. I started to believe that when my grandmother was told that my cousin died as a baby because his parents must have sinned. Want to see holy rage? She chased them down the road with a whisker broom. They came to share in her grief. I’ve been told that my medical inflictions are a result of the types of novels I like to read. Adventure. See, I’m a girl. God wouldn’t approve. He’s punishing me. This was at a party by a distant family member, a true believer.
I prefer to think of the God I knew as a child, in the church where we were happy.
But I don’t normally shit talk other people’s religions. I have just become extremely bitter and the fact that they are fighting the Pope...
      Hi I was apologizing.
I have individual issues. Issues I believe do need to be brought to attention in the right way. But it was and is not right of me to paint anything with such a broad brush.
I’m sorry for the offence given

He’s a priest if he had something to do with the disappearance or possible murder and he is a true believer in his faith then I don’t believe that he would continue to say mass or do anything else required of a priest knowing what happened to his replacement he would already know he’s going to hell so I would think that he would leave the priesthood. But if he isn’t a true believer in his faith and became a priest for a different reason like no one would question a priest about where he was at a certain time ETC…then he definitely would go to hell and saying mass and the other duties a priest is required of doing he would do because it doesn’t matter to him he’s not there to be a priest he’s there to help kill people or whatever else would happen to them so his being a priest is just a act to fool everyone because really who is going to doubt a priest‼️‼️

One possible scenario that wasn't explored in this video but strikes me as a strong possibility is a hate crime. Perhaps a native English person near where the Polish Roman Catholic refugees settled didn't like Poles, Catholics or both and decided to take out their anger on a leader of their hated community. Moreover, I know the concept of hate crimes hadn't come into being yet so it wouldn't have been a theory the police would have considered.

I love your videos but please please remove that repetitive guitar riff from the background. I can barely handle it and I can't unhear it. You do a fantastic job on these and that background noise just makes these almost unwatchable. I'm sorry :(

Okay-I confess...just from the thumbnail pic, my mind went “Catholic priest, apparently disappeared. Murdered pedophile.” After that prejudgment, many things weighed in as evidence, including the photos of him with children, and descriptions of him as vibrant, outgoing, and involving himself in his congregation’s lives. It’s a sad comment on a faith.
If not a pedophile, I still think he must have been murdered as the “perks” for priests meant a good lifestyle and an extensive network of people who would have assisted him
