So very heartbreaking. Especially that poor lady who lost both her children. She looks so sweet and still hopeful after all this time. Holding on to find her daughter....thankyou HC. I hope your vid wakes someone up for all these people.💔🤔🤘🙏
It really infuriates me! They don't listen to those who know the kids best, they want to find them urgently, the cops should be able to realise when loved ones are genuine.
Children don't actually have to be missing for 24 hours before they can be reported missing. If there is reason to believe that the child didn't leave with someone willingly, there's obvious signs of a crime, or if the child is handicapped or at risk (needs necessary medicine every day at specific times, like insulin), a report can be filed as soon as the child has been discovered is missing.
I just wanted to add, that I apologize if my comment came across as snooty or being a know it all. :-) My intention was just to share the information in case you or someone you know, (God forbid) ever need to know. A LOT of police departments are extremely lazy. Most missing children show up before the 24 hour time frame hits, so it's easier for them and a lot less work if they tell people they can't file a report and to call back if you still haven't heard from them in 24 hours. However, if you know your child and know there's something wrong, force them to make a report before 24 hours.

Hannah Belle May I be so bold and suggest you check out the UA-cam channel Dark Curiosities, the stories are fascinating, and highly researched. Stay safe.
It makes me so angry that anytime a teenager goes missing, the first thing the police assume, is that they must be a runaway...Not every kid wants to runaway from home. It also irritates me that in some states, it isn't illegal for a child to run away. The police brush it off and won't look for them. That's what happened with a friend of mine when her 12 years old daughter ran away. They did nothing, she was allowed to. Problem is, what if my friend had only assumed her daughter had ran away but was actually abducted? Anyway, they did nothing to help.
Wow! They had Corporal Ridings (sp.?) time of death narrowed down to almost 15 minutes. That's incredible, but nothing else to show. No motive, practically no suspects. I guess she lived a somewhat mysterious life off duty.
Why the hell didn't she just fly to New Jersey? Why did the friend bring two men with her to the hotel? I suspect the friend is somehow involved. People do weird shit.
I just discovered this channel today and been binging it. Love it so so much. Your voice is soothing and it, along with the ambient music, doesn't creep me as much. Subscribed!!

I wonder if Denise was meeting someone. Maybe she told her family that she was going to help Melissa as an excuse and she needed to just get away for a few days. Nothing wrong with that, of course, as a single mother, I can understand that and see why she would simply tell her family she was going to see a friend. Maybe she met someone and it ended badly.
I love your channel. You’re not the typical talk about all the popular cases and I really like it. I want to say good job your videos are great and Your voice is nice too 👌
I believe in the last case Riding was a closeted lesbian/bisexual. Nothing wrong with that, we have to remember the time frame this took place. The lady in black is somehow involved sorry. If she ordered six coke bottles then who was all up in her room, were some of them offended that she was a lesbian/bisexual or did the lady in black get angry she was flirting with someone else?
in the interview with the indianapolis news, ruth hooper specifically mentioned that maoma was only interested in men and not in women, but i think the fact that she felt the need to clarify that speaks to your point about the time period and how LGBTQ relationships were viewed more than maoma's actual sexual preferences.
I thought of that angle, too. She was always seen with Ruth Hooper; that suggests something more than friendship--if it had been a male friend people would certainly have thought so, anyway. So why do people assume the woman seen in her room couldn't have been her killer? Women certainly can be murderers, even though it isn't as common as male killers, and the weapon (a smashed bottle) would be effective even for someone who wasn't exceptionally strong, particularly if the victim was caught off-guard...
Hey! Half deaf gal here! Lol! SOOO glad to see you turned the background music down, and maybe got a new mic, or something?! I had held off on subbing bc the first couple vids I watched were unwatchable for me because of my hearing loss. YT has garbage Closed Caption so if the music overpowers the voice, and for me esp female voices, it makes it impossible to watch the vids. I still think music the entire time in the background is distracting, but low is do-able for a little while. Sub'd and looking forward to new vids from you! Is there a vid I can start with where you made these changes? I'd like to catch up from that point on! Thanks! Great cases you cover, too!
Enjoy watching videos great narration and these stories were new to me. Some of these stories have a lot of twists and turns making them difficult to investigate and solve.
The frickin' police always thinking missing kids just 'ran away', makes me so angry. Do they have that many run away cases or are they just lazy? Both options are sad.
@@heavycasefiles well, the sound quality is vastly improved! I'm poor and just use a blue snowball, but it works pretty well for me. I'm glad you're experimenting, your voice has more power now and sounds more.... professional, for lack of a better word.
Since the narrator said Denise Wells' drive from Oklahoma to New Jersey wouldn't make sense because of the time it would take to do the drive, I'd just like to add people a lot of times don't do what makes sense. I don't know why but that's true. I guess it's just a part of human nature.
guys- Elisa Lam was NOT a murder. I was very relieved she was not on this video. It is solved. She suffered a manic episode, climbed the fire escape(hence no alarms going off to alert the employees), & got into the water tank- then drowned. None of her behavior made sense because people dont make sense when they’re having a manic bipolar episode. She was off her bipolar meds, and on others that when taken alone with bipolar can cause hallucinations. These wouldnt show up as illicit drugs in her system. She was never seen with anyone by any witnesses. The fire escape climb was apparently even re-enacted, and manic bipolar people can feel extreme strength during an episode. Its why her parents couldnt win a lawsuit against the hotel.
You're forgetting that there was no way to get to the water tank unless you had a key and a way to remove the cover. And the fact that they didn't check it when she went missing. If they didn't check it, then they too must have thought it was impossible for a guest to get to?
@@RH-tv9hk The water tank on the roof could be accessed from the fire escape as well, and I believe this was re-enacted by someone who went there. The lid was also not nearly as heavy as they made it out to be. But regardless, people suffering from mania can have extreme strength, and do not think logically- so I dont know why people are trying to figure out why she did it? The drugs in her system were very dangerous to take together with the mental illness she had, and this can result.
Sending Love, Light, Answers and Prayers to Miss June ❤️, Denise case is mind boggling 🙄🤔... my intuition is she may have been doing some things unknown to others and it costs her , her life or she simply may have just walked away from her responsibilities it’s deeper ✨... I don’t know just my thoughts 🤔 last case ... very secretive things going on 👀 , truthfully there’s no telling who did this 💫
In the 2nd story, I dont think the person she went to see telling the entire truth. Where was the McDonald's in relation to where her car was found? Did she ever make it to the McDs? Was McDs really her intended destination??

It makes me so angry that anytime a teenager goes missing, the first thing the police assume, is that they must be a runaway...Not every kid wants to runaway from home. It also irritates me that in some states, it isn't illegal for a child to run away. The police brush it off and won't look for them. That's what happened with a friend of mine when her 12 years old daughter ran away. They did nothing, she was allowed to. Problem is, what if my friend had only assumed her daughter had ran away but was actually abducted? Anyway, they did nothing to help.
police are stupid most have IQs unders 90.
The Room 1046 mystery at the President Hotel in Kansas City in 1935 deserves its own episode.
Another yay for your great narration and cases I haven't heard before! And the moody music is back, woohoo! Look forward to the next one!
The woman in black could have been a man...
Just found your channel today and watched a few of your videos. I like the no frills style and calm music. Good work overall.
I wish all this killing could stop.
human nature man is the most dangerous animal of all.
Wow! They had Corporal Ridings (sp.?) time of death narrowed down to almost 15 minutes. That's incredible, but nothing else to show. No motive, practically no suspects. I guess she lived a somewhat mysterious life off duty.
The background fits .. love your Channel 👍🏻♥️
Another fantastic job you've done young lady.
Fascinating cases! Very mysterious.
The interstate system hasn't changed much since '94.
I'm always left so confused after listening to your videos. SO many unanswered questions. And awfully grateful too that my 5 kids are alive and well and that I don't have to wonder for the rest of my life what happened to them. There are SO MANY undiscovered bodies lying around the place that it is mind boggling. You could walk a foot away from a skeleton and not realise. Thanks for sharing these stories!
Just found your channel an I love it, Keep up the awesome work! Can't wait until the next new one!
I grew up in Perth Western Australia and I've lived here most of my life.
I had never heard of a disappearance from The White Sands.
Thanks mate for another great upload.
Perry Dowd May I be so bold and suggest you check out the UA-cam channel Dark Curiosities; the cases are highly researched and fascinating. Stay safe.
@@lisamarie8274 Excellent I'll do that right now. Thanks mate. Stay safe.😻😻
@@lisamarie8274 I saw that channel before but forgot to subscribe and couldn't remember the name.
I didn't think I'd find it again.
Just binge watching now.
Thankyou so much.👍👍
I know there is alot of narrators out there but you are really have a great channel.
I want to say good job your videos are great and Your voice is nice too 👌
About time!!! Love your videos!
Nichole Alderfer
That is my thinking also
That is what i was thinking as well.
You took the words right out of my mouth. Maybe a party/threesome gone wrong?
I thought of that angle, too. She was always seen with Ruth Hooper; that suggests something more than friendship--if it had been a male friend people would certainly have thought so, anyway. So why do people assume the woman seen in her room couldn't have been her killer? Women certainly can be murderers, even though it isn't as common as male killers, and the weapon (a smashed bottle) would be effective even for someone who wasn't exceptionally strong, particularly if the victim was caught off-guard...
You’re amazing! Keep it up and please don’t change a damn thing!!!
God Bless Their Mom🙏❤️🙏
Dig your choice for background music, good case choices. Ready for MOre
My word LIFE IS BRUTAL 😥heartbreaking stories everywhere
So sad and unfortunate.
Some of the vintage hotels still have trap doors and dungeons. 😎
Newish sub X greetings from Manchester 🐝 UK X love the channel xx
I really like the music in the background. makes it 10x more interesting!
Sounds like someone got a new mic 😍
same mic actually! i'm still working on improving how i use it and how i speak, and hopefully i'll eventually figure it out haha!
@@heavycasefiles well, the sound quality is vastly improved! I'm poor and just use a blue snowball, but it works pretty well for me. I'm glad you're experimenting, your voice has more power now and sounds more.... professional, for lack of a better word.
Yes she sounds better and better
Since the narrator said Denise Wells' drive from Oklahoma to New Jersey wouldn't make sense because of the time it would take to do the drive, I'd just like to add people a lot of times don't do what makes sense. I don't know why but that's true. I guess it's just a part of human nature.
Awesome!!
The van looks like a hearse. Is that the actual vehicle?
Wow, that last one.
It was possible that the girls were held against their will. So sad
I love the music and the voice. it all works
Such a lovely place.... such a lovely face... WELCOME TO THE HOTEL CECIL
Great job. All new stories to me.
Interesting vid, very professional.
Thank you.
The preparators didn't steal Diane's wallet . I think she knew the preparators
Love your channel. ❤
guys- Elisa Lam was NOT a murder.
What is that background music? I love it. I wanna find it so i can listen to it. Anyone know what it is?
It is called Crowd Hammer by kevin macleod
@@amber6245 thank you
Being a hotelier....I am saddened. Hotels should be fun and memorable for a good reason...ugh
Superb work as always.
Denise was so close to where I life... scary!
Thank you for your videos and time! 👍
This is an awesome upload
YES!!!!!!! GREATNESS!!!!!
Thank-you Heavy Casefiles
Denise thought she would drive from Oklahoma to NJ and back in 4 days. God bless her, but smh
Can you cover Maylin Reynoso?
For those that are glad that the case of Elisa lam wasn’t mentioned here , her family doesn’t think like you they want the case mentioned and not getting cold ,for them it’s never enough . Have some respect for the family of a dead one .
