Dr. Ellie, if xylitol stimulates saliva production similar to when we take in a fresh lemon, what is saliva trying to protect our mouths from when we take in the xylitol? Thank you! I have been using your CMS for 6+ months and I'm very satisfied with the results! ❤
Summary: After a meal, put some xylitol in your mouth. Xylitol feeds the good bacteria and makes bad plaque bacteria less harmful. Xylitol causes a good flow of special saliva (spit) into your mouth. This 'stimulated saliva' has lots of minerals that protect the teeth, repairs the tooth enamel, and has lots of immune cells that can help heal the gums. The good bacteria on the top, back of the tongue, which get fed by the mineral-rich stimulated saliva, produce Nitic Oxide which you swallow. This helps your breathing, heart and brain health. After taking xylitol, don't eat or drink anything for preferably a few hours. 60 to 90 minutes after lunch is when the best benefits occur.
I feel that daily tongue cleaning/ scraping is extremely helpful to my hygiene…and am curious how this practice impacts ( positively or negatively) your system.
Wow so much little details here and there that we would never realised! I thought chewing gum for longer is even better since it helps generate saliva. And I would chew extensively because I would try to exercise dental bone (since aging causes bone loss) and I have lost a lot of bone due gum disease. I never realise about nitric oxide and bacteria at the back of our tongue. Notes taken. Thank you!
Talking about lemons...I love tart foods - I love drinking water with lemon when I get up. I'm not sure what's the best, or "least worse" way to do this safely. I would have a big glass of water, say 400 ml, with either half or full lemon, so it is pretty diluted. Is it bad to brush before I do this? Because I always brush my teeth before drinking in the am.
Sadly I’ve experienced stomach upset issues after using the xylitol…I decided to stop drinking coffee to see if that was a mitigating factor, but it really became clear when I stopped taking xylitol for several days & my stomach issues stopped bothering me. Is it normal for some folks to experience stomach discomfort when using it? I’m not sure if I’m just experiencing a personal anomaly or if this is a known response to this part of the treatment. Thanks to Dr. Ellie for assisting this mid-70 year old & helping me to become aware of the do’s & don’ts of restorative dental care. ❤
I use a toothpaste with xylitol twice a day, always rinse well and never swallow. It works great. I can't use pure xylitol. For the saliva stimulation high quality hand harvested sea salt or Himalayan salt can help (just a tiny grain of salt).
Can i consume xylitol at the night after brushing and I'm on sixth day of your cmcs haven't seen any significant results teeth got smoother than before but showing no little result teeth are still yellow 😢😢formed new cavity
Hi Dr. Ellie. I was wondering if the Ipana FLUOR-O-5 Anticavity Fluoride Mouthwash would act as a suitable substitute for ACT Anticavity mouthwash. It has the right amount of sodium fluoride (0.05%) and has xylitol in it as well. Ingredients: Citric acid, flavour, polysorbate 20, potassium sorbate, purified water, sodium benzoate, sodium saccharine, sorbitol, xylitol. I'm asking because ACT mouthwash is expensive to order in Canada, and it would be nice to have something to substitute it if I couldn't buy it anymore for whatever reason.
Dr. Ellie, I have two crowns on molars (20 and 15) #15 not root canal and was the last installed. My bite change and I already have a cross bite. This create occlusal trauma. Crown #20 was too high. The damage was done and it cause receding or removal of the tissue ( tooth looks longer) on the two top tooth. My question is it can be fix? Should I correct the bite? The dentist already lower the crown. Thank you!
Just give it a try. I had some gum recession and during my dental cleaning, I've been told by dentist that I have biting issue or I glench my teeth during sleep and recommended to have Invisalign blah blah...and I went to a few consultation with another dentist and Orthodontist for biting. Then I saw Dr. Ellie's video and follow her regime ever since especially stop flossing. Not only those gum recession are no longer there, the gum irriation at molar implant eventually gone. I realize those dentists were in a giant marketing together. I have NOT gone back to the dentist for cleaning for almost two years now. I chew Xylitol between meals and brush twice daily following her dental cleaning system.
Thank you, Dr. Elliie for another informative video! I've been using your system for about 4 months. My teeth are prone to bleeding. It seemed to be subsiding. Now I'm experiencing bleeding from using a gentle flow of a water pik & gently flossing to remove debris! Any advice would be appreciated!
Hi dr i switched to flourude toothpaste because my daughter has lots of cavitys now our teeth have brown stains?!?! I also do the mouthrinse and zellies
I have the same issue and hope Dr Ellie responds to your comment. Mine teeth are maybe more with black stains. She said somewhere that it is the dead plaque and to scrub it with toothpaste with Xylitol crystals but that does not seem to work for me.
My motto is 1000% better with your system! BUT… I had to stop the xylitol because I’m one of the rare people who get heart palpitations from it and I do not have any other cardiovascular issues 😭 Please advice on alternative 🙏🏻
Thank you.
I drink up all your powerful information. 5.5 months of your system so far, with amazing results.

Thank you, Dr. Ellie, for this lesson! You make it make sense🙂
Our body is amazing, isn't it.
Dr. Ellie don't you look nice and glammed up! Thank you for this information
Right! 🙂, I love her hair up like that!
In other videos i believe she does say that you can have xylitol before bed after the mouth rinses.
Hi I started your mouth care system last month.I feel amazing.Thank you very much.Could you please let us know how do we clean our tong?
Thanks

@ l feel my mouth is cleaned much better.Im waiting for my dentist appointment.

Dr. Ellie, no matter what I do, I cannot get rid of my chronic halitosis!!! Please help. I have been following your system for 6 months or so.
It's difficult to get enough water in the day. How much water do you drink daily? Any suggestions? Thank you!
Is celery juice as beneficial as solid celery?

I also have lemon water in the morning
Do the Complete Mouth Care System AFTER breakfast, after the lemon water in the morning. Or at least get xylitol AFTER the lemon water.

Maybe try the gum instead?? Or not swallowing it?? Does anyone else have anything to add. Must it be swallowed?
4:48 oop! I suppose you do have to swallow.🫣

Thank you so much Dr. Ellie! So glad I found you, you’re saving my teeth! You’re amazing!
Divine design. Thank you Dr Ellie
How long chew no gomme ?
Thank youDrEllie!! However I am a diabetic and my mouth is always literally dry. Is there anything I can do to help this situation?
I believe that xylitol will help stimulate the flow of saliva. It should help your dry mouth.
You might wanna head over to Dr Berg videos about handling diabetes
Xylitol my affect cardiovascular health. Is this true?

How long do you wait after eating to have a mint or gum?
Rinse your mouth with water, if possible. Then pop in a mint. Just after eating.

Is there documentation for the effect of xylitol when used in this way?
Any and every registered dental hygienist will tell you the same thing and they use it.

Hi. I'm curious, did you eat the mints or just swish it around your mouth and spit it out?
There aren't alternatives that do what xylitol does.
