    I have gum recession and some deep pockets. The dentist told me that I need to have all of my upper teeth extracted and replaced with implants at the cost of about $26,000. I refuse to do this. I have been using your system for 2 months and will continue to. I have noticed that my gums no longer bleed when brushing. I am also a huge believer in the body being able to heal itself.

    I was recommended to have a cadaver transplant on my gums for one tooth in the front of my mouth. I started to make my own toothpaste out of coconut oil, baking soda, xylitol, stevia and peppermint essential oil. Within a year the gum grew back and my dentist thought I’d had surgery!

      @@mwpahl38 I started with the recipe on Wellness Mama’s website. I tweaked it because I wanted to add xylitol and have a stronger minty taste. So it was basically coconut oil, baking soda, xylitol, stevia and essential oil. Do NOT spit this down your drain as it can eventually clog it when the coconut oil coagulates. Have fun with the recipe and experiment!

      what is her system?

    • @MsCeegee3
      @MsCeegee3 11 днів тому

      Same here- used the system- they were impressed- (i’m post-menopausal- things changed!!)
      Go to her website-
      It’s very particular chemical formulas, so precisely these few options:
      First the ph neutral rinse
      Closys (mint or no- fine)
      Brush GUMS (like a massage- less at gum line because that may be irritating?- and brush down over teeth) with Crest anticavity (sodium fluoride)
      Rinse with listerine original or coolmint
      Then ACT Anticavity fluoride rinse-mint, cinnamon or bubblegum flavors only - nothing fancier. (she’s trying to reduce the number of possible irritants in each one of these rinses. Each part of this has scientific research she bases it off of. She owns the Zellie’s xylitol mint company- she wanted to create a mint that had no other sugars in it- just xylitol. I was using them before I heard about her and her protocol.
      5th step- Use xylitol throughout the day
      Stimulating blood flow to the gums to help them heal (step two), and saliva is how teeth remineralize so the xylitol helps Keep the saliva flowing and keep the bacteria count down. (I was drinking so much water. I was washing away my saliva all day. Or at least sipping frequently.
      But maybe just understanding how to not irritate gum tissue, and how important saliva is might be enough. Maybe you don’t need to do all this other protocol stuff? I didn’t understand why I kept getting cavities so I’m doing the whole routine just to be safe.
      Make sure your nose breathing while you sleep because mouth breathing also irritates your gums . (J.Nestor book- Breath)

    8 months of your complete mouth care system and I’m delighted at the results but have left the Dentist somewhat confused as to what he saw or perhaps lack of what he saw. X-rays before and after Dr Ellie’s complete mouth care system shows the success. (I wish I could share them here)
    Past history of 3 month cleaning, perio involvement ,even braces at 50 to “line the teeth up” so the dentist could clean more thoroughly because I was told I would lose my teeth by the time I was 60!

    I won't say how many years it's been since I had a recommended deep cleaning, but here's why I don't have this done: The dental assistant said the cleaning would require novocaine and then gave me a shot. It did not numb my jaw. After 4 shots, I told her I couldn't move my eye. She said that wasn't possible. After 7 shots, the dentist came out and asked what was going on. She was upset with the assistant and told her my cranial nerves were obviously in a slightly different spot. Then she gave me the 8th shot, which finally numbed my jaw. That was just for my right side. They messed up 3 times in my left side, so in total, I was given 12 shots. So, if following your program keeps me from having to relive that nightmare (and yes, I was unable to even blink my right eye), I am more than happy to do your program. Thanks for sharing your insights.

Those three implants exhibited the same symptoms now healed bleeding painful tooth had! I hope to never have an implant again. Slowly but surely my receeding gums using her method of brush straight down and another tip of just holding the toothbrush with two fingers so you're brushing gently I can see areas that my gums have grown. As slow as that is it works. Thank you Dr Ellie!

    Your videos are helping me so much and I'm following your protocol. I had nearly perfect teeth but I started being more aggressive with my flossing, started my day with an entire lemon squeezed into warm water, and I started using one of those drugstore sleep guards. Well - those 3 things caused my gums to recede and for pockets between my teeth to form. I was also a compulsive tooth brusher and water sipper. I am seeing improvements in my gums and I have you to thank. :-)

    I have been on your system using the alternative products you recommend in the UK for around 8 months...I have definitely found improvement, it's a slow process for me so please do not expect results overnight....I had a check up last week after finding an NHS dentist who was very interested in Dr Ellie's system and actually stated that whatever I was doing, keep it up as it is working for me, I had no plaque and had no need for a dental clean, he only wanted to give a quick polish which lasted 30 seconds....I had not been to the dentist for 6 months before this visit, so I am genuinely pleased with my results after using Dr Ellie's system and xylitol gum after every meal...I hope this helps someone wondering whether to try Dr Ellie's advice...and a huge thanks to her for the information she is sharing.

    Thank you, Dr. Ellie Phillips! You are an angel from heaven! Your valuable information helps me a lot!
    When every message says there is no cure for gum recession, I get hope from you. In fact, I am a strict teeth cleaner and I have used a soft toothbrush, an electric toothbrush, for thirty years. I basically brush my teeth after every meal, three times a day! I hardly eat snacks. I used a thread to clean my teeth every night before going to bed. However, I noticed that my gums were receding and the gaps between my teeth were increasing. There was nothing I could do about it until I saw your UA-cam 6 months ago!
    From your video, I found that I only brushed teeth, but not gum early. Now I had brushed gum and teeth for six months with hard teeth brush. I see my gum is growing back! I am not bleeding in once! Thanks! Angel Dr. Ellie!
    Second information I got from video, after brushing teeth, I will not drink water or eating food in one or two hours. I will wait the gum and teeth protection has grew back.
    Third, after eating acid food, such as orange, don't brush teeth. Nowadays, I use Xlytol after luch, intead brushing teeth immediately. I use my saliva to let my gum grew! Thanks!
    Forth, I really don't like to go to see dentist, every time in teeth cleaning, my gum was bleeding a lot, and my teeth gap was increased. Now I really determined not to go to dentist to clean my teeth. After seeing your video, I am getting confidence! According to your complete mouth cleaning system, I started to use Listerine Teeth and Gum after brushing teeth. Early, I did have a attitude against all chemials.However, if it saves my gum and teeth, why not use it?
    I live in Finland, I still have problem to get all the product you suggested in your complete mouth cleaning system. However, I see my gum is grewing back! Thanks indeed!

    Dr.Ellie’s program IS working.
    It took almost a year for me to really start seeing results, but I have a few things slowing progress…an extended series of Invisalign (finally moved to nightly retainers a year ago) and I’m also 47, so there might be some hormonal changes starting? I don’t know.
    While on Invisalign, during the last 6 months, I noticed SIGNIFICANT gum recession and thinning…as in, gums receded more than 1/4 inch in the front 6 bottom teeth and about 1/8 inch everywhere else. Very uniform recession and thinning. The dentist deemed it to be most likely hormonal perimenopause, but to continue on with the Invisalign. It’s SO hideous. My kids got the game Speak Out, and I cringe every time they want to play.
    Anyhoo, it’s been about a year since I started Dr.Ellie’s program, not properly at first, was only doing it at night, with a quick brush in the AM and go. I’m finally seeing some changes, so I’m trying to get the full AM swishes in too. Using Dr.Ellie’s mints, and the Spry ones when they’re out of stock.
    I like to say I have little “gum buds” since the gum tissue seems to be growing in between my teeth faster than the front. It’s working and I’m happy!
    Thank you Dr.Ellie!

    • @Sunshine_craycray
      @Sunshine_craycray 18 днів тому +3

      @@sweetbeep I hadn’t heard of that either until my dentist said it, but it seems like every dentist is trying to sell Invisalign nowadays. If I was trying to sell them, I would try to blame receding gums on something else too. I wouldn’t think it’s hormones as I’m still very regular…just receding gums and no other symptoms at all yet? Ya right.
      All that being said, I would get Invisalign again knowing what would happen to my gums. I had crossbite and had broken two molars from grinding and clenching. My teeth looked perfect from the front but my bite was way off on the sides. I had intense neck and jaw pain everyday, it was horrible. I wore mouthguards every night since I was a kid and they didn’t help. I have had NO pain at all since Invisalign fixed my bite. It’s such a relief.

    • @Jayhaux

    • @Sunshine_craycray
      @Sunshine_craycray 15 днів тому

      @@sweetbeep I hadn’t either. My top jaw was smaller than my bottom, so my bite wasn’t lining up properly. I had my top teeth widened side to side and my lower ones pushed in a bit on the sides.
      I had the Invisalign “braces” with 26 attachments and rubber bands for 3 years, was supposed to be only 18 months. Due to 2 stubborn teeth not moving and a long office closure (thanks Covid) it was extended to 3 years.
      The retainers had to be worn for 6 months full time after my attachments came off. Now I just wear them at night…for the rest of my life.
      The way my dentist explained it: your teeth have a memory and they always want to go back to their original position, so if you don’t wear your night time retainers, they will start to move back.
      I believe this is true, since my retainers always fit well and are comfortable, but we went over vacation for a week and I opted to not bring them. When we got back and I put them in the first night, they were uncomfortable and tight for a bit.

I cut out late night snacks ages ago---now, I'm back in routine of 'getting ready for bed', which I'd meant to do for ages (shut off computer, etc etc)--but never quite Did. Now? I remember I enjoy disconnecting, lowering lights, listening to music---bath time & Dr Ellie's system helps with that. Even xylitol has a place that makes sense. If only I'd known 50 years ago. What I appreciate most? The lack of judgement in Dr Ellie's approach. I've been traumatized by dental staff clucking at my abject failure as a human being and citizen. First, who wants plastic in their mouth 24/7?
      Secondly, many retainers are unnecessary - the problem was ineffective or wrong dental care before sleeping at night.
      Other problems occur if teeth are moved into an "unnatural" position - during the night, and then they move back to where they "fit" during the day.
      I have seen people LOSE teeth - because of this see-saw motion.

    Brilliant video to clarify things! Thank you so much Dr Ellie for your work and your efforts to share it. I am 5 weeks into your mouthcare system and I am very happy with the improvements in my oral health so far. Living in Europe the recommended ACT rinse is the hardest to get here so I have been researching to find an alternative.
    Surprisingly I have found that cheap regular supermarket rinses have the best formulations: free of alcohol, glycerine, zinc, triclosan, sucralose, parabens and containing fluoride 0,05 %, CPC, sodium phosphate, disodium phosphate. The only ingredient I am not sure about is PEG-40 Hydrogenated castor oil, which I hope is not too bad and it does not interfere with the healing properties of the other ingredients. If anyone can advise on this, I would be greatful!

    What my ears heard:
    ~ Use xylitol, no liquid for an hour after use
    ~ Use mouth rinse that she recommends (maybe in a different video)
    ~ Stop flossing
    ~ Use specific toothbrushes, stimulate the gums (may be in a different video)
    ~ Use her mouth care system (maybe in a different video)
    ~ Retainers, Invisalign, and/or braces may be impacting the gum recession (take lots of photos & speak to Ortho)
    She has a book.

    Finally I understand I will never grt rid of sensitivity.
    I thought I was doing something terrible wrong and I was about to schedule a dentist appointment
    In my country I don't find Crest nor Act but I'm using the other products and xylitol
    Still my sensitivity maintains although some weeks are worse than others - the week prior to having my period is horrible, I can barely brush my teeth due to the amount of pain.

      If you are using Listerine without using Crest (or an equivalent sodium flouride toothpaste) and Act (or an equivalent sodium flouride rinse) the Listerine will worsen your sensitivity. If you brush after Listerine you will erode your teeth. You can buy the products online and import them to your country.

    I am 46 yrs old and unknowingly harmed my teeth by getting braces and using an electric toothbrush (receding gums and inflammation). Trying to undo the damage. I’m religious about using xylitol now after eating/drinking. I don’t sip on drinks in between meals anymore. I use a stimulator to floss instead of traditional floss. I use a childs toothbrush. I see small improvements but i suppose it takes a great deal of time to heal the damage.

  • @NM-sb2lj
    @NM-sb2lj 26 днів тому +3

    Hi Dr Ellie - I followed your program for about 6 months, but I had to stop the Listerine, ACT and Crest because the entire inside of my mouth hurt and the internal mouth tissue was tight and felt like a sort of ongoing invisible wound, and I was getting worse and worse pain under my molar root canal. I switched back to LivFresh toothpaste, still use the Closys and your mints and gum, and went back to Dental Herb Company’s Tooth & Gums Tonic, and my mouth probiotics lozenges, and finally after about 3 months the inside of my mouth has healed up and feels good again.
    Unfortunately neither of these courses has benefited the receded area above my front tooth implant.
    I believe my difficulty with your full program could be because I have MCAS, and I wanted to draw your attention to that in hopes that you might have ideas for my situation, and also just as an awareness, because even though MCAS is relatively new in clinical experience, it’s actually pretty common. Many people told they have fibromyalgia and other bucket diagnoses actually have MCAS.

    • @athens31415
      @athens31415 17 днів тому +1

      I also have MCAS and have been using Dr. Ellie's system for about 12 years now. Like everything we eat and touch that is new, start low and go slow. I initially diluted the Listerine with water, I'd imagine you can do that too with the ACT. If the Crest is triggering, try a different toothpaste that doesn't trigger, and use the other steps until your body gets used to it. Also, have you tried Annie Hopper's DNRS neuroplasticity program? That was a lifechanger for me and helped significantly reduced my MCAS symptoms (that, taking Zinc everyday, and avoiding Mold). Good luck!

    • @dr.elliephillips
      @dr.elliephillips  8 днів тому +1

      I believe "side fillings" (officially called Class Five V) are very dangerous fillings and often do not last well.
      They can cause plaque to build up and aggravate the gums, they can also aggravate and even kill the nerves in teeth ( often takes 5-10 years to show this effect - but it is devastating to kill a tooth unnecessarily).

I want to regrow my gums, improve my recession. Do you recommend I not wear my retainer? Or, should I keep doing what I’m doing.
