@@Skilliard You gotta put a lot of pressure with Germany's Raids or Brits foward base LB + Pike so the dutch player doesn't boom so freely because if he does his army will be +1000 times more bigger.

But I like the gathering and building as much as the war side. This video shows resource gathering so now I have no idea what I wread but I'll just buy aoe3 before the sale price ends.
Finally, a worthy challenge for the russian Oprichniks, Pavlov Grenadiers, Lil Bombards, and mortars. I hope that this base building set up spreads like wild fire online. The battles shall be Legendary!
idk, I think the russian player was doing great until he wasted his falcs. He could have just run a ring around the TC blowing up banks and force the dutch to come to him.. Seems like that would have countered this strategy pretty hard.
DE map are so boomy/turtle oriented its INSANE with 2 coin mines and lots of herdables... It feels like you can only boom now... Rush is so easy to defend, not because players became better at denying rush but maps became better at denying rush... Also it's kind of funny how every defensive strat is showed against russia which is D tier... C tier at best and dutch being S tier or even S+.
They always were easy to defend, just players didn't know how to put animals close to their tc, didn't think about walling and using cards like town militia earlier. Now to counter such a turtle you just go 3rd age and cannons and still kills turtling like this, but this russian man played it like 1000 elo. 2 falcs lost to nothing.
No wait.. you don't understand. Gates cost extra wood. You need gaps in order to fight and keep playing resistance and win the occupation by playing cat and mouse... this is basics, almost basics. I agree the base building is textbook.. stuff for game show reel. U did a poor job of checking the map to show where stuff comes from. Just commenting...
When all your 1v1 pro games are ending at age 3 (fortress age) you know your game is unbalanced it just never reaches imperial in 1v1s unlike age 2 even the pros struggle with the game.
This game is trash and I'm going to uninstall it. I just played a game against a noob who only knew how to build walls. I destroyed his walls and his armies over and over again, but he could literally build walls faster than I could destroy them. I'd destroy some walls, he'd send a wave of muskets, I'd destroy them too, and then the walls would be back up again by the time the muskets went down. Rinse and repeat for over an hour. It should not be possible to replenish walls faster than it's possible to destroy them. I had more armies and a better eco than him the whole game, and still couldn't kill him. This game is broken. I'll sleep on it and if I still feel the same way tomorrow morning, I'm uninstalling the game. And literally, building walls was the ONLY thing he did better than me. I was inside his base, surrounded by his infinite walls for 40 minutes, with him blasting my army with falconets and culverins from behind his walls, and I STILL got more kill xp than him. There were like 10 minutes when I was in Imperial age and he wasn't, and his veteran muskets were getting shot by my imperial needlegunners, and he STILL wouldn't go down, simply on account of being able to build high hitpoint walls fast. I swear, this game is trash. It should not be possible to build units/buildings faster than it's possible to destroy them, especially not before you get to the OP end game improvements.

it took me a long time to realize that rushing Dutch in age 2 is almost never a good idea on most civs

boring game, i would just sent 30 strelet and 9 cossack on minute 8 instead of muskeeters and mitoe never would have his villagers out of town center
