This gave me anxiety
a couple of groups of coyotes probably would have helped this match end sooner.
The War Hut was destroyed, and although a Coyote Shipment could have wipeout the longbows, the British had superior eco to keep pumping longbows with pikes, Aztec would have lost the war of attrition. The Aztec player bet everything on his mass Skull strats.
@@19lg05 He is reffering to early mid game when his skull knight mass was building, with the coyote he could have hunted for vills and snaring the LB as well as scouting better for TCs.
Is it possible to upload this games so we can watch it by ourselves? I would like to see the azted player build order.

@@epppz755 Well, that was the 1st mistake. Seeing Aztec go age 3/4 and still remain age 2. Usually vs Aztec you only need to camp your base because they have 0 boom options for age 2/3

And grens, people always forget about those but musk+gren combo synchronizes very well actually, specially considering their shared cards
floating 5k resources when you're being beaten to death by skull knights is a bad look
I still dont get it why did he make Longbows? Muskets are cheaper and are better to micro and they have more hp and get 20% less dmg from melee attacks.
I remember Diarouga doing a build like this in a tournament game. Amazing defense against that British age2 aggression.

Wow those skull knights, pretty cool to see Aztecs doing something else than early rushes. I hope that they don't nerf this cuz skull knights are a reallty cool unit.
They do not need a nerf. They are just a weaker Gendarme, just like the Macemen.
@@AbdunK99 Actually Aztec needs to be buffed a little bit. Their lack of proper cav and cannons makes them really weak. That's why we don't see Aztecs in tournaments and pro players don't usually play them.
@@AzTK96 Frankly, they are by far (it is not even close) the lowest-used nation in the game, and might easily be the weakest too, empirically speaking.
This needs to be nerfed pair this with their anti artillery units and you cannot even do falcs or horse artillery against them

lessons learned from your last two vids shown here Drongo.
British didn't use slow ass fishing boats or stay close to shore with caravels when it picked up the troops (Japan vs Swed) so was successful (bearly)
aztec player smashing buildings with seige to end any possible turtle or comeback from an economically booming, but inferiorly aged opponent (german player game where the dum dum didn't build siege despite opponent in age 1 for 9 mins)
Tbh the counter is walls, halbardier/musk and canons. You need to be at least fortress to hold. GUA has overboomed and got punished for it. For any other civ with a skirms you can go mass elite slinger and just send 20 slingers repeatedly with triple xp aura from warchief.

Aztec anti artillery units have superior range and deal extreme damage to cannons

@@liezaanjordaan2103 Yes. But for the build order of the video, you need to fulfill community plaza to keep spawning Skulls. Leaving almost no villagers on eco.

This strategy is too toxic and bad for the game.
A switch to huss and firepit harass and you win... Or just siege it xD. Its really a matter of disabling his firepit.
Aztec are a trash civ right now, British just took bad decisions like staying age 2 even when he saw his opponent go age 3/4, and second, with all that eco, he should have make musk + cannon and gg.
Damn Aoe has transformed so fucking bad imagine loosing with 100 vills against 19 just because of one unit that does not require micro or huge cost. What a fucking scam from the developers 😵
Some said Aztec is the worse version of Inca, is that true
They do stuff differently. In a eco terms, they are worst by alot. In terms of rush and teching they beat most civ. Why this civ is garbage is because their mid game is kinda super trash. So you have to end quick. Pro tend to defend super well so It's definitly not easy.
Perhaps not. It's just that Aztecs are really, really good at rushing and very bad at semi FF/Fortress Age in general. Otherwise you have to do timing pushes like this FI or go turtle.
