Bro, I loved how there were times during this song where you looked like you were choking up at how hauntingly beautiful this song is. Love your passion for music, man!
I love your reactions to Floyd. Reminds me of my first time, I was about ten, I'm now fifty three and still get goosebumps and tears!! This album becomes more poignant when you learn it was dedicated to Syd Barrett, a founding band member who had a breakdown as they got famous. The album is about how the excesses of the music industry broke him. The title track is a song about how the other members miss their old friend.
Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part I - V (Pink Floyd) It's on the same album as Wish You Were Here and Welcome To The Machine. And a fucking prog masterpiece.
wait till you hear Great gig in the Sky and Shine on you crazy Diamond... who am I kiddin... you need to listen to all Pink Floyd albums. You don't just listen to Pink Floyd you feel Pink Floyd, sit back and relax and let them take you on a journey, every track is an experience.
To compose this type of music it takes a genius nothing else needs to be said. Nothing before and nothing after will ever touch the soul like this album does.
Damn dkopack, nice call. I’m thinking o all the obvious songs like Shine on You ..., and Have a Cigar, etc. But Sheep, I agree that would blow his mind. I do think he needs to see all sides Floyd, so I’m gonna sayYoung Lust, as well
I'm really liking your reaction vids man. The thing that makes you different from a lot of the reaction channels is you actually listen closely to the whole song and don't just wait for some surprise to occur to react. You're very open minded and you recognize what most of these channels miss. I subbed yesterday or the day before after watching several of your videos. Regarding Floyd, listen to the albums straight through as you have time to get the full message behind each album. These are concept albums and no one song stands alone... Kudos to you and your channel man!
Pink Floyd pioneered the 'concept album', in which, the entire album is essentially one continuous song that takes you on a musical journey. Each song leads directly into the next without a break between tracks. One of these days, I would love to see you react to a play-through of an entire Pink Floyd album. Dark Side of the Moon would be a great album for such a video.
I enjoy watching your videos so much! ❤️ I’ve never met anyone that wasn’t an “old timer” that hasn’t heard rock music! I think you are such a cool person! Thank you for the fun breaks in my otherwise dreary life! You make me laugh! I think it’s safe to say now... “You Rock Dude!” 😂
Hello.. Watching your reaction to this was a moment for me .. I am 53 and this whole album which I heard for the 1st time in 1980, was and still is a HUGE part my life, as is most of Pink Floyd's library of work … but this song in particularly just Grabbed my soul .. and all these years later .. it still moves me in the same way .. ..But your reaction moved me so much because … As I am watching this I'm in my office ( I work from home ) which was my childhood bedroom but now our home and it was IN THIS VERY ROOM in 1980 that I heard that album for the 1st time and it Moved me just as it did you.. I would .. and still do Play it Over & Over & to see someone react to it the same way I did .. while I am in the same room I heard it for the 1st time myself & felt the same way .. just really got me all emotional and really touched me lol as you can tell .. haha But it just shows that music is timeless. You will be a Pink Floyd fan for the rest of your days now … LoL If you haven't listened to Animals or Division Bell .. they are a must as well. And if you already haven't ..you need to listen to the entire album as well as Animals At Night .. with light wayyy low … and If God is being happy .. during a rain storm lol .. Mood Altering .. nothing else can be said. lol =) Take Care & Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Great channel man! I love hip hop but went through my trippy classic rock days and PF is by far my favorite. Lyrics can be a lil depressing but real as F but there musical collaboration back then was on another level. Seeing you react to this was awesome!
@@cheekychews idk...saying Welcome to the Machine tops Comfortably Numb and Wish you were here "by far" indicates to me he might survive it without complications
Floyd’s albums r like movies for ur ears! Listen from beginning to end, they tell a story. Their music is timeless. We’re all different ages and races and we still connect with one another thru music. Keep the connecting up young man.
I would like to suggest the Pink Floyd song "One Of These Days" from their Album MEDDLE (1971) ... also the song "Echoes" from the same album but know that "Echoes" is a real commitment at just over 23 minutes (it was originally the entire Side B of the Vinyl release back-in-the-day).
I was lucky enough to see them at Earls Court in 1994 on the Division Bell tour. That concert is on UA-cam and I highly recommend you see it, very memorable. All the best.
Fearless in open G tuning "I think" is the best song outside of Arnold Layne and I have been a PF fan for 30 years. I don't want take anything away from the rest of there catalog because most of what PF does is just great music.
When I was younger this was my favorite. As I've gotten older, wish you were here has become my favorite and it will be played at my funeral. I love pink Floyd. To my freaking core!!!!
A lot of Scientists use this song as an example of perfect mathematics used for perfect music. All about the frequencies and mathematic transitions of notes and chords. It goes along with the Schumann Frequencies binding the Earth and every living thing on it together. Fascinating stuff.
You can see your anxiety building and building on all these long intro songs for the first time! lol Love it ! One thing I may add when listening to Floyd, Tool also and a few other bands, is their albums are a work of art as a whole and I believe should be listened to as such the first time all the way through, each song compliments the next and will work your body and mind over with feelings and emotions Keep em coming! Ever done any Sublime?
Pink Floyd is truly timeless. Unlike most iconic bands, it's hard to tell what decade they're from. Many who hear them for the first time, are suprised to learn they're so old.
Pink Floyd is my all time favorite band. My first concert. 1977. Chicago. Soldier Field. Amazing light show. Just goes through you. Beautiful. This is one of their best.
You’ve got to listen to the WHOLE album this comes from- WISH YOU WERE HERE (I saw your review of that song and it was excellent and your understanding of the power in the lyrics really impressed me since you are not a long time listener of theirs) Pink Floyd is meant to be listened to in its entirety as their albums are a continuance like one long song with different movements (like a concerto or an opera) with a central theme. It’s so hard for me to listen to this stopping where it does without hearing HAVE A CIGAR coming right after it. That should be your next Pink Floyd song!!! Right after this one comes that one. Then continue with each song in order one review at a time. I think You would love it and a lot of us would as well. It all ties together in Floyd you know. This song and the album it comes from is About their resentfulness, disappointment and dissolution with the record industry and management (the “machine”) only concerned with the next big commercial success and not caring about their music or artistry, only how much money they could make. As well watching the pressure and lifestyle deteriorate their dear friend and former band mate Syd Barrett until he disappeared; its believed today that he suffered from schizophrenia and his initial psychosis came on under the enormous industry pressure put on them right before Dark Side of the Moon, as well as repeated use of LSD. It’s a sad and tragic story to long to go into here but the album Wish You Were Here is also about losing yourself, and losing someone you love. Separately the songs are good, but It’s very powerful when listened to all together. You’d love it. Please go down the list and review each song on this album in order!!!! It would be epic!!!!!
Scott Dickson You sir, are mistaken. I know this album very, very well. Please go look it up on your little internet, come back, and issue your retraction. Thank you.
LOL yes, you're absolutely right, Rebecca. It's from Wish You Were Here. As far as listening to the whole album, it also helps to know the history and that it was written about a founding/former band member (Syd Barrett) who basically lost his mind just as the band was really taking off. In that context, songs like Have a Cigar and Welcome to the Machine really take on a new meaning and drive home the point about Syd not being able to deal with all of the trappings of being a rock star where you're basically just a piece of meat for the music industry to chew up and spit out as they're making money off you.
CapsDude absolutely!!! Did you read my full comment? We touch on the same things ♥️👍. It’s a powerful, gripping, beautiful, tragic album, full of pain and bitterness, sadness, regret and longing, just below the surface of the lovely, ethereal quality of the vocals and instrumentation. And the lyrics hit like a punch in the gut, especially when you know the motivation behind them. I’m beseeching PRESTON: PLEASE DO AN ALBUM REVIEW OF WISH YOU WERE HERE IN IT’S ENTIRETY!! Or pick any Floyd album and do it, but hoping for this one first since you’ve reviewed a couple songs off of it already. Would really enjoy watching you piece it all together when you hear it in it’s entirety. It will blow you away, and the reaction would be legendary! Help me get this going Caps!! Cheers fellow Floyd Travelers! 🙂✌️

"Tell me that shit don't hit your soul". Now imagine hearing that shit on acid. That's what most folks thought it was intended for, haha. Does work pretty good 😂😂😂 but a blunt will suffice
You should have warned Syd for this shit though.super intelligent minds and talents like his I preferred to have remained untouched.he could give so much to music and art. His mind shouldnt have been wasted melting around with some idiotic friends with no brain at all to burn..
When I was a little kid in the early 70's, my uncle built a stereo chair. An egg like thing that when over a recliner, basically - filled with speakers & lights. I listened to Pink Floyd in that thing. I learned to love Pink Floyd in that thing.
Watching you makes me appreciate songs I used to listen to way back... I saw these guys live in 76 and even got to party with them. so yeah welcome to the machine... thanks for making me remember.
You just earned a subscriber, my friend! I'm surprised you haven't done Dream Theater! That band absolutely transcends music and becomes an emotion and an entire experience. Their songs have such deep meanings and are all musical masterpieces and have a VERY distinct sound to them. I'd suggest Metropolis Part 1: The Miracle and The Sleeper, Ministry of Lost Souls, or Octavarium (it's long but definitely worth it, it's an experience in of itself) Pink Floyd was one of the biggest influences of Dream Theater
because animals is so political and a complete gem you listen to that album in full, I'd rec that for all Floyd albums because of how each song blends to the next but animals takes you to a different spiritual plane and you listen to that from start to finish, no other way 😂
Wish you were here is a whole dedication to syd Barrett. I mean the title of the album and the cover and even the song names themselves just tell you and then the lyrics are very obvious.
I've found it interesting how certain music speaks to you without any words, touching something deep in your soul that rarely can be reached. Pink Floyd did that for me a number of years ago when I was going thru some hard times, somehow being able to perfectly express my feelings within. Then when you add their lyrics that speak of the frustrations we all face in this world where we seem to be led along to the slaughter by some unseen force. Wow. It gives you a lot to think about. What's really important in this life? What should I focus my efforts toward? Deep stuff!!!
Dude, Pink Floyd still puts out albums, not like their old stuff so much but they do. Awwww yeah! The ultimate chill song, Pink Floyd - Us and Them (On the Turning Away is also good). Spot on with the Tool/Pink Floyd analogy. A good mix of Tool and Pink Floyd is a band called Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere But Not Here. Porcupine Tree has one of those distinctive sounds too.

This album becomes more poignant when you learn it was dedicated to Syd Barrett, a founding band member who had a breakdown as they got famous. The album is about how the excesses of the music industry broke him. The title track is a song about how the other members miss their old friend.
Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part I - V
(Pink Floyd)
It's on the same album as Wish You Were Here and Welcome To The Machine. And a fucking prog masterpiece.
The music gods are not merely pleased with Pink Floyd, they GAVE us Pink Floyd.
That is a great saying because it is true.
they didn't give us Pink Floyd they are Pink Floyd
Helen Stocks beat me to it 😂
This song is a masterpiece, the instrumentations in this song are fantastic.
Glad you feel Pink Floyd. Can't wait to see you hear The Great Gig in the Sky. Goose bump central Preston.
wait till you hear Great gig in the Sky and Shine on you crazy Diamond... who am I kiddin... you need to listen to all Pink Floyd albums. You don't just listen to Pink Floyd you feel Pink Floyd, sit back and relax and let them take you on a journey, every track is an experience.
Subbed just to see his Gig reaction.
@@rancidcrabtree. me too LOL he is gonna love it
edit he did LOL
To compose this type of music it takes a genius nothing else needs to be said. Nothing before and nothing after will ever touch the soul like this album does.
Pink Floyd - another brick in the wall
Pink Floyd - “Sheep”, it will knock you back!
pigs
Sheep
in court of the crimson king. lol
Damn dkopack, nice call. I’m thinking o all the obvious songs like Shine on You ..., and Have a Cigar, etc. But Sheep, I agree that would blow his mind. I do think he needs to see all sides Floyd, so I’m gonna sayYoung Lust, as well
dkopack71 the first song I heard when I took a whole joint to the head for the first time it was almost hallucinogenic!
Hsve a cigar is a great song to react to by pink floyd. Short and sweet
afficial83 my favorite by Pink Floyd
Come in here dear KTF, have a cigar, your gonna go far.
Great channel man! I love hip hop but went through my trippy classic rock days and PF is by far my favorite. Lyrics can be a lil depressing but real as F but there musical collaboration back then was on another level. Seeing you react to this was awesome!
I think you may be ready for Shine on you Crazy Diamond.
Could be risky at this early stage ... have some medics on standby in case of Brain Damage :-)
@@cheekychews idk...saying Welcome to the Machine tops Comfortably Numb and Wish you were here "by far" indicates to me he might survive it without complications
I would probably go with Echoes before exposing the dude to an implossion xD
He’s not ready for it. We can corrupt him so quickly.
Lennon Mccartney He has to because of copyright infringements. That’s a UA-cam thing
The intricacies of their music with the message its giving hasn't been duplicated! Pink floyd grabs people's attention, imaginations and soul!
Floyd’s albums r like movies for ur ears! Listen from beginning to end, they tell a story. Their music is timeless. We’re all different ages and races and we still connect with one another thru music. Keep the connecting up young man.
Great comment.
Shine on You crazy Diamond next
yessssss
Those Moog, Hammond-B2, Prophet 600 & Roland Juno, 70's analogue synthesizers sounds really powerful.
I love that sounds..
Greets from Spain, brotha.
In pompeii its amazing!!
They say the hill’s to steep to climb?
FEARLESS
A pillow of winds
I was lucky enough to see them at Earls Court in 1994 on the Division Bell tour. That concert is on UA-cam and I highly recommend you see it, very memorable. All the best.
kebabtank SO BEYOND LUCKY... but I’ve seen David live and Roger’s The Wall Live ($270 a ticket but beyond Worth It)
Welcome to the Machine. The Pink Floyd Machine.. You’ve just scraped the surface of the Floyd Experience... .
Pink Floyd - Fearless
underrated song
Fearless in open G tuning "I think" is the best song outside of Arnold Layne and I have been a PF fan for 30 years. I don't want take anything away from the rest of there catalog because most of what PF does is just great music.
The look on his face, Like he completely absorbed. That is what Pink Floyd does!
He is almost child like in his expression Watching and listening.
When I was younger this was my favorite. As I've gotten older, wish you were here has become my favorite and it will be played at my funeral. I love pink Floyd. To my freaking core!!!!
Pink Floyd - High hopes (royal albert hall) (:
King KTF It’s supposed to give you those feelings. The genre is Psychedelic Prog Rock and Pink Floyd are best in that genre.
A lot of Scientists use this song as an example of perfect mathematics used for perfect music. All about the frequencies and mathematic transitions of notes and chords. It goes along with the Schumann Frequencies binding the Earth and every living thing on it together. Fascinating stuff.
Tool and Floyd. Are there own genres that no one can duplicate. That’s what makes them so unique and special. Your ready for some tool - EULOGY
React to Pink Floyd - "The Wall" or "Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part 2" next, please.
Part 2 before part 1? Come on
He should do both parts in one sitting....a solid 26 minutes.
@@Mikenoronha Exactly
Don’t ever apologize for takin it back with Pink Floyd
Pink Floyd on the turning away...
It's nearly 5am here and I've spent all night watching people listening to Pink Floyd songs for the first time. It's magical!
Pink Floyd is truly timeless. Unlike most iconic bands, it's hard to tell what decade they're from. Many who hear them for the first time, are suprised to learn they're so old.
Very haunting song very angry and epic
This is on The Wall not WYWH.
Not true, this is from WYWH
Have A Cigar
Caleb Palmer yessssa, because it follows The Machine, the album being Wish You Were Here. Scroll up to where I write the same thing 😉👍
PRIMUS's version of Have a Cigar is MINDBLOWING
Your reaction and face the whollllle time man! 😂 then at 9:40 I just lost it. Dude I wish I could rediscover Pink Floyd. They are legendary man. Keep up the reviews bruhhhhhhhhhhh! lol
"Tell me that shit don't hit your soul". Now imagine hearing that shit on acid. That's what most folks thought it was intended for, haha. Does work pretty good 😂😂😂 but a blunt will suffice
Fav thing is relax smoke just enough, and listen to Pink Floyd in my bed with close eyes 😁
Forsaken is my favorite dream theatre song
Good song Floyd does have a distinct sound. Pink Floyd- great gig in the sky....you will love I swear
Pink Floyd is a journey not a destination. it gives you feels. have an amazing journey. peace!!!!
dude you need to listen to Pigs (three different ones)
Animals should only be listened to cover to cover.
because animals is so political and a complete gem you listen to that album in full, I'd rec that for all Floyd albums because of how each song blends to the next but animals takes you to a different spiritual plane and you listen to that from start to finish, no other way 😂
I’m not a big fan of animals it’s way to left
You need to google Syd Barrett. Much of this album is about him.
ophelia dikki No, he had to leave the band in 1968!
@@floricafloristikcateringko2379 Yes, but some of Pink Floyd's lyrics are about Syd Barrett :)
Wish you were here is a whole dedication to syd Barrett. I mean the title of the album and the cover and even the song names themselves just tell you and then the lyrics are very obvious.
Those are the permanent feelings you are going to have each time you hear this song. They embed themselves into your mind.
Pink Floyd changed what I thought good music was in my youth. Glad you found it.
I say Muse next. Showbiz, Plug In Baby, Citizen Erased, Muscle Museum
Vered Cohen agree! Also Incubus, sevemdust and A perfect Circle since he loves MJK's voice.
You should listen to Pink Floyd's "One of these Days" it will sure wake you up. PF is one of the best Head Phone & Laser light show bands ever.
Yo man you gotta review
Sultans of Swing - Dire Straights
YES
Brothers in arms is also a very good song, the guitar sounds amazing
Not only does Pink Floyd sound good, the lyrics cut right into your soul! It’s so sharp and real! You can’t not feel it!😲
Dude, Pink Floyd still puts out albums, not like their old stuff so much but they do.
The Endless River (2014) is Pink Floyd's last album, they won't be doing anymore albums now that Rick Wright has passed away
