    Ok. You want to zone to a long track? "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts. I-V)" is a great track for that... there are of course many others; but that's a really good place to start. It is DEFINITELY right up your alley.
    Also, I'm noticing your occasionally bewildered expressions toward the beginning and ends of Floyd tracks. You may have figured out that they do not really start or stop abruptly like songs from most artists. That is because most of their albums (especially their more critically acclaimed ones) are themed compositions. They are generally meant to be heard from start to finish. That's not to say you can't listen to single tracks; but if you want the full Pink Floyd experience, you need to at some point, particularly before your channel gets too big, stream some albums in their entirety.
    Go ahead with these tracks first though: "Another Brick in the Wall" (pt 1 and pt 2 - includes "The Happiest Days Of Our Lives"), "Time", "Have A Cigar", "Pigs (Three Different Ones)", "Money", "Welcome to the Machine" (might wanna save this one for an album stream though), "Fearless", "Hey You", "Run Like Hell", and "Us and Them". You get most of those knocked out, and I guarantee you won't mind hearing them again in a full stream. Anyways, just my thoughts; but I'm sure many others will agree.
    EDIT: The only reason I think you shouldn't walk straight into the album reactions, is for the sake of your channel. There is a lot of content from Pink Floyd, that's true; but you'll blow through it in real large chunks, and real fast, if you don't tease yourself some, and save a bit for later. By the way, I am holding the album cover for "Wish You Were Here" Immersion Edition in my profile pic. I have since got every Floyd album on their recent vinyl reissues. They are some of the best sounding records in my collection. This band affects you in ways that you'll never shake.

    Pinnk Floyd is meant to be listened to by the album not the song, so if you do a binge, be sure to go cover to cover on a full album. Dark side of the Moon is a great starting point, but you can't go wrong with DSotM, Wish You Were Here, Animals, or The Wall.

  • @spacegnome5266
    @spacegnome5266 6 років тому +23

    Really glad to see giving Pink Floyd a chance. You don't just listen to Pink Floyd, you experience it. Many of their albums are meant to be listened to as one piece.
    Grab your earphones, put on Dark Side of the Moon, get comfortable and let them take you on a journey. The Wall is another great masterpiece, along with Animals and Wish You Were Here, The Division Bell, the list goes on. Honestly, I haven't heard anything from them that I haven't absolutely loved.
    They are artists in the truest sense. It never ceases to amaze me how they can take a collection of (often strange) sounds and turn them into something so beautiful and full of feeling.

    If you want to get into the zone bro listen to Shine on You Crazy Diamond parts 1-5 and all of Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall.
    I especially recommend Dark Side of the Moon. That album was FIRE. Groundbreaking in its time and even now. Theres a good reason Dark Side spent 741 weeks straight in the Billboard top 100. That’s a few weeks over 14 years straight. Also fun fact, that album syncs REALLY well to The Wizard of Oz.

John Paul Jones is FIRE live playing this song).

    Definatelty one of the most beautifully written and composed songs of all time! One aspect of a great and timeless song is when the band of course probably has their reason for writing it and meaning behind it, and when we all can listen to it and possibly walk away with our own feelings/thoughts and meaning of it for ourselves. Music is unbelievably powerful! Great video, Thanks!

      This song is about the Pink Floyd band member named Syd Barrett. Through late 1967 and early 1968, Barrett became increasingly erratic, partly as a consequence of his reported heavy use of psychedelic drugs such as LSD. There is also speculation that he suffered from schizophrenia.
      But each can interpret it in their own way.

    King KTF, I have been a fan of Pink Floyd since 1973 when Dark Side of Moon. After listening PF, I was hooked! You just scratched the surface of their materials. History of Pink Floyd: band founded by man named Syd Barret who forced to leave the band after having mental issues. David Gilmour, guitarist, Roger Waters, bassist who left the band in I believed in 1985 after some fall out, Richard Wright, keyboardist who died in 2008, and Nick Mason, drummer. They have other musicians & backup singers on stage during live concert. But Pink Floyd started out as original four. Name Pink Floyd is unique itself. Band is heavily influenced from the blues even though PF known for being progressive. Name is from two Blues men : Pink Anderson & Floyd Council.
