Now I realised that this was the song that was played on my dad's radio and I'd ever listened to as I was a little kid in the end of 70, early 80. It sounds much greater in my ear nowadays.
Dude you really get this stuff. Unlike a lot of other reviewers, you give good insight into the music. You’re by far the best reviewer out there. You really listen and understand what makes songs good plus you are very genuine. I appreciate how you go into new music with such enthusiasm and how you really love the journey a new song can give you.
If you want more Deep Purple....I'd go with "Burn" , "Highway Star", or "Woman From Tokyo". GREAT REACTION as always Preston, you're doing an outstanding job.
I remember the first time I found Preston's channel, I thought what the hell. I am bored anyways. All I have to say is I am so happy I was bored. You can obviously see his reactions are sincere. Love when people realize their perceived world if music is small. Thanks for being around Preston.
Nice job digging up a song lots of people don't know about but is a awesome piece from the time. You're a busy guy but if you ever want to revisit it, there are a couple live versions that hit really hard in the feelings too, and you won't be disappointed in how well the band can actually pull it off live. My personal favorite is the one from the album Nobody's Perfect, more people prefer live in Japan but I guess having one album as a kid and playing it to death makes it "the one" the you bond with. Really enjoy the channel man, great to see you've got such a good respect for such a variety of stuff, you seem like a pretty down to earth dude.

I actually laughed out loud with pleasure watching you listen to that! I burned out three vinyls as a young girl because i played it so much. If you would like a long song with a jazz essence, try "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" by Traffic, written by Steve Winwood when he was still a kid.

I am really enjoying how you are wandering your way through songs and their influences. It is one thing to hear a great song, but jumping back to influences helps you appreciate how music is kinda of like a family tree. We live in a time of perfectly crafted pop that is genetically engineered to be super catchy, but has little substance. Many of these older bands weren't afraid to show influences and it just drives you into not just listening to other music, but experiencing it (actually focusing on 8, 12, 20+ minute songs).

Glad I grew up back in the 60's/70's.... had my whole life to enjoy this most excellent music.
Love the reaction to one of the best rock voices of all time.....thanks man. No auto tune, no bullshit, pure talent.
I love this. You really "get it". Deep Purple are one of the founders of rock music. They have a great catalog of music and multiple singers that were legendary. Enjoy your journey into all that is Deep Purple.
Ian Gillian is an amazing vocalist.
Fantastic reaction video, I've watched it at least 10 times and I can't get tired of A, listening to one of England's greatest bands, and B, your reaction to Ian Gillan's vocal, I love the way his talent touches your soul here, it certainly does mine 😀😀
BRUUUH! You have now entered the twilight zone and there is no turning back. Floyd, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, now Deep Purple. There is so much more to experience. Try Mistreated by Purple, also for your Classic Fix then try some Uriah Heep either Demons and Wizards or Rare Earth, Hey Big Brother, Bruh you will continue down the magical rabbit hole of no return. Not that you will want to. The trip has been 60 years for me and I have never been disappointed.
Look at Yourself is Uriah Heep's greatest and heaviest record. David Byron is #2 behind Freddie. Then Dio#3. Byron almost could be #1 Rain- Come away Melinda- ect. ect.
He should do Yes
i have never heard of these bands you have mentioned mark what era are they from if you don't mind me asking. edumacate me sir lol. and before any comments on spelling yes that was done intentionally. like seriously though educate me, throw some knowledge my way, brother
@@aaronhammonds5503 What bands in particular, do you have questions about? The Beatles started the "British wave" of rock bands that became popular in America. They were influenced by black blues players from the south.
@@stephensdygert7600 Uriah Heep 'Living The Dream'. Freakin' Brilliant Album. Saw them a few months ago, one of my best nights out ever.
King, that was the finest description of Child In Time, coming from you, and yes this song is really one of the best in rock history, so thank you for this great podcast of yours. Cheers from Munich, Germany 😊😅 great performance 👏👌🇩🇪👍😉
My friend...you have a wonderful OPEN mind to and for the LOVE of MUSIC. You are picking some GREAT classics of the METAL genre. I appreciate that you appreciate these musical masterpieces and musical arrangements. I grew up on all these sounds and just the sound of special musicians(people) who get together and create such sounds is inspiring. All playing their instruments together. There is so much music out there it’s great to explore and take it ALL in such as yourself.
Great song- great reaction too! Glad to see you have a soul :P
I literally have nothing to say about your reaction. LOVED IT...YAHOOOOO
If you like different levels, Pink Floyd - Echoes, 1971 studio version
OMG dude!!!! I am 63 years old and heard this back in 1970 when it came out. I was 15. I have been following your reactions for a while now and love how you "get it". When I saw that you were reviewing this I couldn't wait to see your reaction!! I'm only 3 plus minutes in and I LOVED the look on your face when you heard Ian Gillan hit that high note and sing that incredible lyric. It's maybe my favorite line in all of music. If you've not been hit by flying lead, you better bow your head..and wait for the ricochet." How spine tingling is that?
Keep up the great reviews, and I'll say more after watching the rest!!!
Peace
Just watched this and it made my day! Every time I watch you bro, you take me back to the first time I heard these songs. We all reacted the same way to this one! And I love your Powerslave reaction. I could hang with you all day and listen to music! Thanks for doing all of these. So great!
It's such a joy to see you really "getting" this kind of song, just like you did with the Judas Priest songs. It warms my heart =D
Thank you!
Live version of this song is insane.
this one of the best songs ever played PERIOD
Now I realised that this was the song that was played on my dad's radio and I'd ever listened to as I was a little kid in the end of 70, early 80. It sounds much greater in my ear nowadays.
Dude you really get this stuff. Unlike a lot of other reviewers, you give good insight into the music. You’re by far the best reviewer out there. You really listen and understand what makes songs good plus you are very genuine. I appreciate how you go into new music with such enthusiasm and how you really love the journey a new song can give you.
Deep Purple is a fucking legend. So many legendary songs from a band of legends. Child in time, smoke on the water... so many.
I remember this back in the mid seventies when I was in the army great music back then.👍
Ben c'est encore toujours de la très bonne musique , et pour très très très très longtemps .
Deep Purple - Highway Star & Space Truckin' please!
THE BEST Jason!
Jason Allen
Yep - but needs to be live versions from Made in Japan!
Yeah , space truckin made in Japan....now there's a track with layers for ya 😂😂😂😂 lots and lots of layers ........IAN PACE ON THE DRUMS ....oh yeah
Paicey... underrated drummer...!!!!
I approciate your videos because you understand and appriciate my favourite music. It makes me happy it brings back my apprixiation for it as well.
Congratulations!!! You've just been on the PURPLE rollercoaster!!!
Quite simply the greatest heavy rock album of all time. The five best musicians in the world creating a miracle beyond description.
first time watching you , loved your reaction to a classic deep purple track , Ian Gillan had one hell of a voice .
Jethro Tull - locomotive breath. Its got an epic flute solo!
The same Jethro Tull Grammy winners 😂
Dude great perception of music you have !! This song/album is my favourite of all time as it was so brutal, raw yet contained brilliant musicianship
When the guitar solo starts i got shivers every time. And I heard It thousands of times
Me too. It is a sublimely beautiful moment.
If you want more Deep Purple....I'd go with "Burn" , "Highway Star", or "Woman From Tokyo". GREAT REACTION as always Preston, you're doing an outstanding job.
Stormbringer is another great one. Very underrated but arguably their most kickass song.
"Oh my GOD!!!! Hold on bruh hold on bruuuuuuuhhhhhhh" ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻😂😂😂🤣🤣
I watch all his videos for this exact reaction, he gives me life, lol
I remember the first time I found Preston's channel, I thought what the hell. I am bored anyways. All I have to say is I am so happy I was bored. You can obviously see his reactions are sincere. Love when people realize their perceived world if music is small.
Thanks for being around Preston.
Watching your journey through classic rock and metal, and your appreciation of it, is a joy.
"When a blind man cries" my fav Deep Purple song
this song is so fuking sad men... it's my fav too
i have been feeding my soul with this since i bought the album when it first hit the stores. i feel sorry for the so called music you have to endure now..a whole generation missing out on this..thanks for spreading the word
Yeah...some guys like me decide to listen to the good old classics...music today is just awful noise... i love it when older people ask me what i listen to thinking im going to listen to shitty music but they are surprised...
1970 soung 49 years
genius of the time :)
When you see someone loving something you love.. That's an amazing feeling man
its insane that you are absorbing 40+ yrs or so of Epic pure awesomeness within a period of mere weeks/months. most of us gathered this knowledge and spent years going through and digesting this music.. you actually get it. and its so cool to watch.. much praise bro
Deep purple - Strange Kind of Woman! Live version!
Mountain - Mississippi Queen. An american classic from 1970. Raw and heavy
Yess! Gotta do it!
I actually laughed out loud with pleasure watching you listen to that! I burned out three vinyls as a young girl because i played it so much.
If you would like a long song with a jazz essence, try "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" by Traffic, written by Steve Winwood when he was still a kid.
I so enjoyed listening to this with you. I like how you said at the end you have nothing to say. At the end of the live version of this song on Made in Japan album there is a moment of stunned silence before the audience starts applauding. Absolute classic.
that smile on your face preston was the same on mine 35 years ago music is the true religion no matter what faith or creed I love hard rock and very much enjoy your reaction to these songs peace to you brother..love from the uk
Led Zeppelin - since I've been loving you
Must, must, must react to this
Patrizio Volpes Yes!!!
but the live version from 73 or 74. strongly recommended!!! iconic song
Deep Purple were epic. Led Zeppelin were mediocre at best.
@@BlitzkriegBoogie well.... thats your opinion and also a question of style what people like more
Rainbow - Kill The King (Live in Munich 1977)
Yes! Not Stargazer. Kill the King is so much better.
@@WWCLife nah, studio version...
Yes this song is perfect!
YOUR REACTIONS always shows me that your music taste is absolutely on a HIGHER LEVEL !
Man .ur one of the best reactors I ever seen.music education opens us doors to enjoy life peacefully. Keep movin
I never expected you to listen to this one but glad you did. This is song is epic. Kyuss- One Inch Man
Some great Deep Purple songs to consider: Perfect Strangers, Stormbringer, Lazy, Black Night
Might want to add 'When a Blind Man Cries".
Deep Purple "Highway Star" from classic live-album "Made in Japan"
I am really enjoying how you are wandering your way through songs and their influences. It is one thing to hear a great song, but jumping back to influences helps you appreciate how music is kinda of like a family tree. We live in a time of perfectly crafted pop that is genetically engineered to be super catchy, but has little substance. Many of these older bands weren't afraid to show influences and it just drives you into not just listening to other music, but experiencing it (actually focusing on 8, 12, 20+ minute songs).
you got the best reactions man. i really feel that you feel music when you react.
At 2.30 I'm thinking, dude you've heard nothing yet. Strap in for the ride.
Lol he has no idea
charlie fc I was thinking the same thing. Man, when Ian hits the high notes he’s gonna faint.
Exactly..thats what I was saying...just wait for the solo lol
Preston .. love your reactions to this type music.. im 60 and as you can imagine been around this type songs .. from early days … yeah peoples comments below very true ..DIOS voice … is a must check out .. he died 2010 .. and badly missed … also if going down ya MAIDEN route watch Pachendale live Dortmund … find all ya music UA-cam .. carry on ENJOYING
Ian Gillan the original Jesus of Jesus Christ superstar! ☮️
Yay!
So cool to finally see you react to deep purple..another one of my all time favorite bands!
Try Hard Lovin Man sometime or Pictures of Home.
I can tell you were really u diggin this!!!!!
YESSSSS!!!! HARD LOVIN MAN!!!
I've been yelling that song at people for years. It's an outrageous piece of Hard Rock/earliest Heavy Metal. Cheers. 😎🍻
Great reaction cant wait too see your reaction to more Deep Purple try Highway Star .
