Hello first of all greetings to you from poland dear friend, I again had a problem with an acer aspire model 5560 based on amd, could not boot up just turned on and off and so on all the time, nothing almost had to write it off, but I found your video, and I did as you exactly the same grandfather came to life and serves already for a year I changed the thermal pads and paste and thoroughly cleaned the entire cooling and even washed the entire pcb laptop, in alcochol iso,. After assembling the laptop is beautifully alive less heats and has a stable temperature, as well as the graphics core and the processor, and I removed the disk drive and gave the ssd 512 gb is enough for me, and I currently have 8 gb ram, once again, thanks for a cool video,
Search on the underside of the motherboard for two tiny pads next to "JCMOS". Short the pads to clear the BIOS. Then, if you can, replace the RTC battery with a fresh one if it is over 3 years old. Good luck!
Yep, a cheapskate might check the old CMOS batt & if voltage is still good (3-sh volts) & realistically the laptop's unlikely to be used 5 o 10 yrs later then I'd pop back in. Depends if you have replacements to hand etc
I always remove and place it from the other side where the small metal lip is. This lip can be pushed a little away from the battery so it pops up. Placing it back is by lowering it behind the plastic lips and pushing it down over the metal lip. It will click in.

My PC worked for one day after the other tutorials but now it turns on, the Acer logo appears, the screens flashes white and then it turns off. I think the video in the description relates to the problem that I am having now.

Mine Aspire ES1-732 doesn't have slot battery, it soldered to Motherboard. And My laptop wouldn't turn on also. So I shorted + and - of BIOS battery for 5 seconds and Laptop booted up. In your case, you may missing micro switch located under RAM cover of laptop bottom. When you open this cover to upgrade your RAM switch would terminate Laptop battery connection. Try either tight up screw bolts tighter on this cover or glue something on cover bump located on cover against this micro switch to have a more firm push on switch.

Question: why I nearly never see the use of a electric screwdriver? Unscrewing and rescreewing tens of screws is already costing a lot of very expensive technician time. Why that?
Its easier and safer to use a manual driver. If most or even all of tradesmen in a certain field prefer doing things a certain way, there its usually that they all know what they are doing lol :) Its usually not that they all just havent thought of it yet :)

Hello, please help me. I have an Acer Aspire E5 471g. I recently installed an SSD and everything went well. I installed drivers for everything but then one day the laptop just won't start. The power indicator is blue which means it's on but the screen is completely black, no cursor or text. When I turned on my flashlight on my phone and shone it on the screen, there seems to be a faint flickering of the backlight which cannot be seen without the flashlight. At first I thought I had to reinstall windows because it might be a software issue but no....the problem still persists. Then it's probably the CMOS battery. I haven't tried it because the CMOS battery is on the other side of the motherboard. I really don't want to try and repair this myself because due to the current circumstances of the WHOLE WORLD, I can't just go outside and give my laptop to someone to repair it. I can't even get a NEW ONE! Whelp
I dont fully understand. Your saying your computer wont start at all but then it sounds like you tried to reinstall Windows and that didnt help. How did you reinstall the OS if the computer isnt turning on?
@@PC_Monkey I fixed the issue before by removing the cmos battery and waited 30 mins to reinsert it. It worked for a few weeks and tried reinstalling Windows because I thought Windows caused my laptop to not boot. But now i'm facing the same problem where the laptop just won't boot at all even after I do the cmos battery trick. If I shine a flashlight at my screen, there's only flickering but no Windows or cursor. I also tried connecting my laptop to a tv using an hdmi cable but that didn't work either. This is a pain to solve because I think it's not a simple matter.

With disconnected battery and no power cord attached. Laptop will not turn on. Try either tight up screw bolts tighter on this cover or glue something on cover bump located on cover against this micro switch to have a more firm push on switch.
I have an Acer Aspire 5 A517-51G that just completely died while in use. It was plugged in at the time. Now there is no power or battery light it’s just completely dead. I tried unplugging my cmos battery but no luck. I checked my cord and power port and found it good. Checked the mother board and it’s receiving power but the problem remains. I’ve been using a charger from a different laptop for a year with the same volt spec but instead of a 3.42 A it’s a 4.74 A.

I have an Acer Aspire 5 A515 and I have an issue with it starting up. The laptop charges fine when connected (The LED button lights up blue) but pressing the Power Button on the keyboard does nothing. I think the issue is with the keyboard because some of the keys on the keyboard stopped working after a year from purchase but I never bothered fixing it as I always used an external keyboard. Recently though the power button seems to be having issues, when I press it nothing happens although occasionally it will start up but after I turn it off and press the power button again, it does nothing. Now I think the keyboard is completely dead hence why the power button is unresponsive, I'll be giving it to the repair shop day after tomorrow, are there any other solutions you think I can do to temporarily have it turned on? Thank you in advance
If you feel like the keyboard is the issue then I recommend replacing it. They are usually fairly cheap, with most used ones on Ebay going for well under $20 USD. Hey bro i checked inside my laptop for bios but the bios battery is very small and connected with shouldering I don't know what to do now can you give an advice?
You would have to de-solder it and then solder it back on to reset BIOS this way.
Why are you wanting to reset BIOS?
hello, I have an Acer aspire e5-573g. Everything was normal until one day I tried to shut down the laptop using the keyboard power key. But that didnt work so i used the start up menu and shut it down from there. Ever since my laptop has been completely dead. I try to power on through the keyboard and it does nothing. The charger is working fine, when it is plugged in the red led indicator turns on. But the laptop power blue light doesnt come. I tried to do a hard reset by inserting a pin into the hole at the back of the laptop and the in the first attempt it didnt nothing. But i let it sit for an hour or so and in the retried and this time the laptop started. Also both the times i was holding the reset button for about 30 secs or more. However, with the laptop turned on i tried to run my normal applications and everything worked fine until i moved the laptop and and after few mins it went dead again and ever since then i have tried reseting multiple times, tried removing inside battery, ram, hard disk and cmos battery and put it back in, tried to remove the static power as well but the laptop is just not responding. Only the charger indication works rest everything is absolutely dead. Please help me.

Its an acer aspire e15 touch for reference
Not all motherboards will have a CMOS battery. But some will have smaller one. You would remove it and reinstall it all the same. Why are you trying to reset BIOS?
My laptop wont start. The power light comes on and i can hear the fan start but it doesnt get to the start up screen before its shuts off. It tries to start again and it repeats that cycle. Thought maybe the screen got broken or the battery was dead, charged it and plug in a hdmi cord but it still doesnt make it to the start up screen. So i went through you first video about holding the power button and it brought me here.
The battery is soldered in, someone it the comments said id have to desolder it and resolder it. Not sure if thats true, it looks like it can be removed without that but i didnt want to risk it for now.

Please ADMIN, Reply me. I never knew that to remove battery first. I was cleaning my laptop. i mistakenly touched my screwdriver to a very small transistor(i think its a transistor, was very very small), a spark came out, after that my laptop isnt getting the power , not turning on, not getting any power from charger. charger is fine, i saw your previous video, did everything but its not turning on. And am really upset.

@@PC_Monkey i said, it was a spark when my screw driver front part accidently touched a small transistor / capacitor near my fan connection on motherboard. It had a small spark, after that my laptop not charging not turning on. I saw all videos of yours. Nothing worked for me. If you have an email, i can send you the image?
@@sohaibali3336 If none of those steps worked then its most likely a motherboard issue, which makes sense if you saw a spark and a portion of the motherboard may have been damaged. You should then replace the motherboard.

If the computer only has issues when plugged into the charger cord, then try making sure the computer is updated first as seen here; ua-cam.com/video/DDv2gJDjfOM/v-deo.html
If that fails to stop the issue, then you may want to replace the charger cord.
Heads up! THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH ACER ASPIRE V3-572PG. the battery is a different version that is soldered onto the motherboard, and therefore cannot be removed! I found this out the hard way so you don't have to!
In the case of a soldered on CMOS battery, you would have to desolder it to reset BIOS. But that will still reset BIOS so this method still works. Not all motherboards will be the same DIY operation.
