The netcode and movement alone is 10 times better than anything Multiversus has to offer. Not to mention the insanely unique character roster and extremely balanced roster.
Currently there have been closed betas for those who back the game at the $50 tier. You can still get in through late backing, but they only hold the betas the weekend at the end of each month.
What can I say, I don't like grabs or shields and I like the slower speed. Everything surrounding the game sucks and the engine switch may have been a bad call, but the netcode is way more stable as a result and they've already made significant progress updating the game since the release. I'll probably still buy rivals 2, but I don't think it's gonna replace mvs as the game I play.
Rivals 2 is going to be my main platfighter because of the movement, but MVS really does have a lot going for it that Rivals people are missing. Slow and floaty by comparison, yes; but you can *react* rather than be forced to anticipate options. It's fine to prefer R2, but just because you love platform movement so much doesn't mean games without it are bad.
How is the monetization on a free game offensive? I’d understand being pissed at a battlepass and monetization if it was a game that cost $60 to play, but its $0 to download and play multiversus, all monetization is optional, so I don’t comprehend the vitriol. Its a pretty standard business model for free games, and considering the game is online, its very generous that they don’t MAKE us pay for anything. Server maintenance and expansion isn’t free.
Like you can unlock every character in multiversus for FREE. You can get everything thats in the store. FOR FREE. It might TAKE a while, but you can do it. Thats a standard business model for free games though. Like league of legends and games with similar business models, you can grind for a while to get stuff or if thats too much hassle you can just buy it. I haven’t spent a cent on multiversus so the devs are eating the cost of me playing. So I like the game, and its fun.
