As much as I've had fun there have been an equal amount of times where I rolled my eyes at the changes/monetization they've incorporated, and I'm glad someone is talking about it as it is pretty disappointing. The thing that drove me to the brink were the weekly challenges that are impossible to complete if you don't have certain character. I've completed all of them except for "use jokers bazookas" and it's not a great look to lock battlepass progress behind more paywalls. Same with the single player mode needing you to have joker or another friend to play with. Also just realized I watched your marvel rivals video, loved it!

Note: its not a 30 frame input delay window. Reminder that thats half a fucking second. If sfv got an absolute shitstorm for 8 frames, imagine what 30 wouldve been. The game does have a 30 frame *BUFFER* window. Which is a different thing, that still makes the game a bit wierd to play.
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 that's why I said it's only one step forward. Unreal engine 5 looks only a little better. But definitely not worth the 1 year hiatus they took to "polish" the game.
I have been playing brawlhalla for about 7 years and meele for 4 years. I've played in some local meele tournaments and some small scale brawlhalla tournaments and used to be a high diamond brawlhalla player, so this opinion comes from someone that loves fast pace platform fighters. The beta of mutliversus felt incredible and i played it a lot when it was up, the fast gameplay felt smooth and i could really identify with Finn because he felt like the perfect character for me. the game now feels slow and clunky and the input delay makes it impossible for me to do anything. when I play a platform fighter i want to focus on reading my opponents moves, not my own characters. i can't play the game because i constantly feel like i'm not really in control of my character and that's just awful, a good game should have a perfect translation between a players inputs and the characters movement, so that it feels natural. to me, multiversus doesn't feel natural at all, i tried to enjoy the game but i just can't in the current state, i sadly gave the game up. I was excited for it coming back because the beta felt great and i could've truly seen myself competing in it as i have in other games, but this rerelease is just not fun to me
Yea I definitely blame WB too for getting their fing hands on it and turning this game that had a whole lot of passion life and potential into a soulless cash grab
You nailed it, corporate greed definitely is the most noticeable change over the year and it makes sense as the reason why the fundamentals are incomplete
Gigantic comes back: Completely out of the blue, two new characters, a brand new mode, two new maps, some server problems but that's granted, abandonded for like 8 years, pay to play but can reasonably get all characters in a day or two, brand new lore-giving fortune cards (basically missions), basically the same game but with new stuff Mutliversus comes back: Planned from the start three new characters, two new maps, PvE mode, minor server problems (at least for me), only been offline for a year, free to play but it takes a month or like 50$ to get all the characters, completely different engine, feels like a different game, removed a buuuuunch of good stuff (some skills, playing locked characters in training, some settings for some reason) Conclusion: Multiversus, I love you, but Gigantic is my baby and I'll play until the end of time.
Me and my friend who were excited for this games launch were practically unable to play due to lag, grindy character unlocks, constant crashing, no VC, no way to train with the characters we wanted to use until we bought them, which we never even got around to doing in the first place, and a severe lack of content. We had a solid 2 days of things to do before we had more fun not playing the game than we did playing the game. This game is the most disappointing thing I've ever experienced.
I swear, when he said the servers are better I cringed, the first few days every second 2v2 match would just crash, now its every 5th or something, but the input lag and in game lag is just a bad combo, like I can do moves with armor, see my character hitting and get hit a few seconds later, even when there isnt an enemy near me, its absolutely a joke how bad this game hot
I know it is horrible for WB to force these microtransactions. No game should have grinds that can be drastically reduced by a paywall. I love this game and really want it to succeed. It is a shame that they do that. They should just make skins, ringouts, announcer packs, and etc. Stuff that doesn't mechanically give an advantage or act as a paywall for progression. I love the game and hope it does well it has so much love built in to it. The characters and everything

As a Brawlhalla player, I'm happy to see someone actually praise our game's consistency despite it not reaching the high player counts of games like Multiversus
I love that you pointed out all the things that Brawlhalla is doing right by comparison. I’ve been playing Brawlhalla for almost 3 years now and I somehow haven’t gotten bored of it, which is very unusual for me lol.
I just got back into Multiversus and I've been enjoying it, it's just so, so boring that I'm limited to about 4 characters... I wish characters costed 1k, I think that would make it a lot better
it’s a fun game there is fun to be had but the grinding slightly ruins it because no matter how hard I try I can’t not try an get agent smith there’s something inside me that won’t let me stop
Launch day was horrendous de syncs and game crashes literally every other game I thought it was just cuz hella ppl were in and a week later same issues…
I think i might be up to whats going on: WB said they arent making enough money so they figured a mature audience aint gonna buy skins for a cartoony platformer and so they changed it into a children friendly game by slowing it down, removing slurs and damage counters so it feels casual
The gameplay went from fastpast dodge fest to a turn based rpg. Where u sit and wait for the other person to attack. Im getting used to it. Idk if i like it.
the steamchart data is pretty hilarious. ~67,000 average players with a peak of ~153,000 in July of 2022, when the game first released. ~12,000 average players with a peak of ~114,000 within the last 30 days, surrounding it's relaunch. this shows that en masse, people have been playing the game and damn near instantly dropping it after seeing how bad it is now. i racked up over 100 hours in beta and loved it. i played one session of season 2 and uninstalled lmao.
Somehow you didn’t mention the poor optimization and CONSTANT crashing and audio glitches Part of me wants to feel bad, but I also know that we gave them lots of feedback that they claimed they would touch upon and yet now it’s basically confirmed that all went into a garbage shredder
the game might be slow for that focus on parrying and there no one parrying on reaction so the game still to fast or it needs a less strict parry window
multiverses looks more like a traditional 2d fighter with the larger characters, heavier combat and the cameras main focus being the characters and not the stage. It honestly looks like they tried to do half and half but failed at both.
Put 80 hours into the beta and some money and for some reason I got all the beta rewards BUT the battle pass and they’re just sending me automated support replies and the deadline to claim it is near, awfully convenient.
this is the first video I've watched of yours and I gotta say, - as a viewer it's extremely refreshing and entertaining - as a small channel this inspired me to make better quality videos. Great video. You've earned yourself a new subscriber.
I also don't understand why the characters you unlocked in the beta didn't just transfer over, O had fully unlocked Batman, Harley, Superman, Bugs, Finn, Jake, now I would have to grind a lot to play woth some of thoese characters.
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 I also transferred the account from Playstation to my Xbox, maybe they don't have cross progression or that caused it to bug out, still not really a problem until they fix the gameplay because I won't be playing before that
I was going to put a college thesis on why making the game slower ruined everything but all you really need to know is that it ruined my main Garnet and im still salty about it
I literally had about 4 -5 costumes I only got to keep the shagsworthy skin and taunts + the characters I bought . Many things missing and the fact that I don’t get reimbursed makes me not want to play it too long
The time it takes to unlock characters is way too fucking long. They pulled the Battlefront bullshit with 40 playtimes for 1 character. I was going to buy the joker but gave up on that because i have a life. Also slowing the game was wild, ive gotten used to it but it feels so bad when i cant even follow up because my fat ass is too slow.
Your comparison to dark souls and blood borne, that was spot on, yknow I never truly understood why I enjoyed Multi SO MUCH. But this is a perfect explanation. It was just the faster paced smash and I really enjoyed that. The game also played better back then to an extent as well. It had its issues sure but at least I could finish a game without being desynced. I also cannot STAND how they’ve dumbed down all the characters with their combos so now the game just feels like skill less tier whoring. Like I used to never play certain characters cause I didn’t know the combo routes, now pfft go into the lab for literally 2 mins you’ll figure it out on your own!
I wish the game was better, i was so hyped for it to come back and yet i have only played the 'full release' for like 5 hours. You get bored of it within a couple of hours with the lack of characters to play as and the slow ass gameplay.
WB needs to understand that you can't force every free player to turn into a paying one, no matter how many paywalls you include. If the average player experience isn't good enough, people can go somewhere else to get their fix.
Note that WB put a statement on doubling down on live services and less to no more AAA games

After logging in and doing dailies for 4 days I've earned enough currency to unlock 3 fighters. It's not about time sink in a single sitting, its about coming back regularly.
I give it 3 to 4 years until the WB decides to pull the plug, because "the money is not there anymore."
someone actually putting some sense into this game this game was amazing, the game was fast and not slow the characters look to big, there was no need to change it. I 100% agree with everything u said
Skill issue detected, opinion rejected
Bro Honestly I like the game with slower speed because the fights now can be more thought out instead of braindead users spamming the same button over and over again. I agree with the other criticisms tho
In the most recent update they made it possible to try out characters you don’t own
As much as I've had fun there have been an equal amount of times where I rolled my eyes at the changes/monetization they've incorporated, and I'm glad someone is talking about it as it is pretty disappointing.
Literally in training mode, you can use all characters. I don't know why it's mentioned you can't
For me rn I do like the game but it defenitly has a lot of issues more than it should. Thankfully the devs are going to be addressing them but low key really wish the relaunch was better ngl. One of my biggest problems is just how slow the game feels
I love the usage of some of Austin’s THE SCIENCE techniques! It enhances your dialogue, and if you played with an extra bit or two, the videos ahead are going to be great. Subscribed!
The battlepass exp timegate sht is ridiculous 😂
It’s looking like unless you do every daily you CANT complete it
I did notice the game became slower but I wasn’t sure,now I know.That’s why the bugs bunny hammer-tornado x3 combo doesn’t work
Note: its not a 30 frame input delay window. Reminder that thats half a fucking second. If sfv got an absolute shitstorm for 8 frames, imagine what 30 wouldve been. The game does have a 30 frame *BUFFER* window. Which is a different thing, that still makes the game a bit wierd to play.
i really hope they make some great improvements and do it fast
i cant believe my favorite multiverses youtuber is uploading multiverses again
I agree. It feels like they took 1 step forward in graphics and 4 steps backward in overall features and intuitiveness.
The game looks exactly the same lol.
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 that's why I said it's only one step forward. Unreal engine 5 looks only a little better. But definitely not worth the 1 year hiatus they took to "polish" the game.
When your father walks out and comes back different
The zoomed in camera and slower gameplay was the nail in the coffin for me. I deleted MultiVersus and downloaded Nick All-Star Brawl 2! 😌
30 frame input buffer is not delay, it's where the next input is buffered and queued up, the input delay is rather normal.
Correct, the delay is like smash ultimate (input slider has to come tho)
I was excited for it coming back because the beta felt great and i could've truly seen myself competing in it as i have in other games, but this rerelease is just not fun to me
I’m going to be real the beta lacked intresting neutral
Yea I definitely blame WB too for getting their fing hands on it and turning this game that had a whole lot of passion life and potential into a soulless cash grab
You nailed it, corporate greed definitely is the most noticeable change over the year and it makes sense as the reason why the fundamentals are incomplete
Still can’t believe a game with the possibility to have one of the biggest rosters ever didnt add ultimates to the game
Gigantic comes back: Completely out of the blue, two new characters, a brand new mode, two new maps, some server problems but that's granted, abandonded for like 8 years, pay to play but can reasonably get all characters in a day or two, brand new lore-giving fortune cards (basically missions), basically the same game but with new stuff
Mutliversus comes back: Planned from the start three new characters, two new maps, PvE mode, minor server problems (at least for me), only been offline for a year, free to play but it takes a month or like 50$ to get all the characters, completely different engine, feels like a different game, removed a buuuuunch of good stuff (some skills, playing locked characters in training, some settings for some reason)
Conclusion: Multiversus, I love you, but Gigantic is my baby and I'll play until the end of time.
The characters and everything
as an art guy, the new interface design is an INSULT to my poor eyes 😭
the Spider-Man2 protecting PFG from Reddit bit is so real. Theyre being cruel af over there, and thats not even including people who are making fun of others for not having fun 😭
Leave it to Reddit to be absolute vultures. The game is definitely flawed but everyone on the Multiversus subreddit literally will never be happy
As a Brawlhalla player, I'm happy to see someone actually praise our game's consistency despite it not reaching the high player counts of games like Multiversus
You can also spend over $100 to have all the characters
@@eatthis2326 yeah so dumb.. they need to sell the full game for like $10 and call it quits lmao
Man, what a great video xD if you see this bro just keep doing what youre doing. And whoever is editing your videos deserves a raise
Thank you man!
And as predicted the game took a great sprint then had a seizure died before leaving hospital.
to be fair even their "great sprint" was more like a great tumble down a hill
Launch day was horrendous de syncs and game crashes literally every other game I thought it was just cuz hella ppl were in and a week later same issues…
I think i might be up to whats going on: WB said they arent making enough money so they figured a mature audience aint gonna buy skins for a cartoony platformer and so they changed it into a children friendly game by slowing it down, removing slurs and damage counters so it feels casual
they took finns gem away, ill never forgive this.
The best part of the new game is banana guard saying hello
The gameplay went from fastpast dodge fest to a turn based rpg. Where u sit and wait for the other person to attack. Im getting used to it. Idk if i like it.
Allways Remember. If Gumball Joins in Theres A Lot Truck of Players
the steamchart data is pretty hilarious.
Somehow you didn’t mention the poor optimization and CONSTANT crashing and audio glitches
Part of me wants to feel bad, but I also know that we gave them lots of feedback that they claimed they would touch upon and yet now it’s basically confirmed that all went into a garbage shredder
Don’t like how slow it is now
The developer said that most thing are gonna get get fixed like the training able to chose all caracters in the next ubdate.
My point is most people won’t be around or comeback for that. WB sold
the game might be slow for that focus on parrying and there no one parrying on reaction so the game still to fast or it needs a less strict parry window
Yea parrying is useless on a 30 fps lag mess
multiverses looks more like a traditional 2d fighter with the larger characters, heavier combat and the cameras main focus being the characters and not the stage.
It honestly looks like they tried to do half and half but failed at both.
Put 80 hours into the beta and some money and for some reason I got all the beta rewards BUT the battle pass and they’re just sending me automated support replies and the deadline to claim it is near, awfully convenient.
this is the first video I've watched of yours and I gotta say,
- as a viewer it's extremely refreshing and entertaining
- as a small channel this inspired me to make better quality videos.
I was going to make a video on this same topic but I think you've nailed it in every aspect.
Hopefully MVS is hearing our feedback and addresses them because man, I loved this game in beta.
A good chunk of the characters I unlocked transferred over. It's a bug you might want to report homie.
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 I also transferred the account from Playstation to my Xbox, maybe they don't have cross progression or that caused it to bug out, still not really a problem until they fix the gameplay because I won't be playing before that
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265shouldn’t she to do all that . Another reason it’s a trash game
I like that they slowed the characters down makes things feel more deliberate then just button mashing
Exactly
The game was officially released in the raw and undercooked fashion I've ever seen before, the beta was somehow more seasoned and had more flavor.
4:35 Lmao, always fun dunking on Drake.
I wish the game was better, i was so hyped for it to come back and yet i have only played the 'full release' for like 5 hours. You get bored of it within a couple of hours with the lack of characters to play as and the slow ass gameplay.
Wow nah you nailed it bruh.. LOL i even feel like the speed of the game was intentional to make the grind even longer 😂😂😂
They either wanted to make it easier for babies or cause they engine couldn’t handle the speed
WB needs to understand that you can't force every free player to turn into a paying one, no matter how many paywalls you include. If the average player experience isn't good enough, people can go somewhere else to get their fix.
Its not about fun anymore it's about how many skins will they buy..the store always works perfect
The Drake stray 🙏😭
You see, I almost always play training so I can actually play as everyone, but even then it’s still bad.
Multiversus was dead to me the second Warner Bros. decided to axe the modding scene.
kind of brad at this i played valorant with you like a year ago and i think about you every day, keep going glorious king
The 30 frame buffer system is so abysmal jesus
I have found the servers SO laggy recently. Like I can’t play without crashing or lagging brutally
Corporate greed is literally ruining everything… and the sad thing is ppl will indulge bc the game at its core is fun
This PERFECTLY defines my views of the game. Great vid!!!
