It’s been said before but honestly one of the best if not the best vw engine sounds I’ve heard.
Thanks and it runs awesome not to big not to small, just right!!!
Best sounding bug engine i have ever heard, super healthy. Amazing!
I agree
Beautiful color on the beetle! Love the wheels and the 356 styling on the engine.
Love it ! getting my 73 back on the road this year. Has a 1776 as well
Literally the only guy on UA-cam who knows how to rev an engine lol
Very cool! Inspiring me to start the engine I'm building on the stand. I think it's wise. Great job!
Man you guys did a great job on that engine very nice I love the color of that beetle !
My jaw hit the floor when I heard that thing rev! Sounds wicked!
I always come back to watch this video when I need to be happy,
Man, I watched this video so many times....sounds awesome!
I love air cooled VW engines ! I really enjoy building a fresh Vdub engine from the case work to carbs . So far 1600's , 1776 and 1835's have kept me happy . My new engine on the stand is going to be an 1835cc grocery getter . Happy building !
I’ve always felt the 1835 was the perfect VW engine, done right.
@@socaljarhead7670 The last 1835 I built ended up in my 71 Vw Bus . It really was a "freeway flyer" , it could scream in a straight line , cornering not so much . My new build is a stock 1600 👍.
Now those are some quality parts!
Fantastic sound mate - very well done
The exhaust sounds amazing
Parabéns pelo trabalho e capricho o ronco é perfeito 👍👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome engine, beautiful bug!
Man it sounds great , I know it will do a wheel stand .
What a fine machine!!!
Looks and sounds great pop's!
Awesome build !
Sounds amazing!!!
That exhaust !!!
Man I want me one of those
Dang man, that thang sounds crunchy!
That muffler/lighting is an optical illusion
Lovely job sir!
Cool sound nice engine and good olt Käfer
Love that exhaust system!!
😍 A1 top class
Beautiful man!
Nice Sound Man!!
Very nice POP!! 🤤
Well done sir!

Cool bug motor dude! 😎

I got a 61 double cab now all done Csp brakes shifter new freeway flyer and 2017cc cb performance motor coming next week paint is all thats left. aloha big island
Man! That’s awesome 👏
Very very nice bro.
Fantastic brother, woo!
I love that engine, pop's i gotta have you build me one for my bug.
Exhaust going out where GOD intended!
Holly SHIT!!!!! suena de huevoooss congrats
Sorry I haven't posted any videos lately I've been working out of state but now I'm close to home
I'll be posting some new vids soon Thanks
Just finished putting on the mendeola kafer bars aka "stiffy" in and my son is coming up net week week to help put the engine in
Pop's Garage Take your time dont rush it for youtube!
Planning on getting my first bug, I'm sure I could make due with a stock 1600 but because I'm curious how much did that whole engine setup cost if you don't mind me asking.
Do you have a video of it running in the car yet? Cheers.
👍 nice job
Great stuff subbed...
Great sounding engine. I have just order the A1 Peashooter from Tiger. Just wanted to know how loud or quiet is it from inside the vehicle. I currently have the A1sidewinder and its just way to load while driving. Thank you
magic sound
Excellent
Sounds good
What exhaust is it and the colour ? Beautiful what do u think to putting a larger say 74mm crank in?
Do you have this thing running yet pops ??? We need a flyby video ;) what camshaft are you running ??
Thanks for posting the engine specs. Not a lot of posters bother 👍
I would be interested in rod thrust clearance
I have been building engines since i was 16 with my father and friends I have always liked to share
around .004 + - .001
@@popsgarage6621 thanks
Sweet 👍👍
Nice, but i want heat in the winter :)
thats such a beautiful color, whats the name of it, or is it custom? thats an awesome bug my sir.
So did this start off as a 1600 then add a 1776 barrels ? What carbs are you running. Cams ? I have a manx with a single port 1600.... I like this set up
Did you change the crank at all? I remember back in the day roller cranks were the go to for high revs
Sounds good, when can we go for a ride?
Out of curiosity, have you ever worked with or heard the names Billy harcrow or Sam Rorrer? This sounds amazing sir! Job well done. I’m having vw fever haha growing up Southern California my family including those two guys were heavy into the vw world really trying to get my dad to pull the trigger on us building another one.
Badass
Who makes this exhaust? What's cams are you running? Incredible! I'd love to know what the specs of your build are!
Have you done any dyno pulls , really curious how the los panchito work with a street cam small cc motor.
no I haven't done any dyne pulls yet Pat and David @ cb performance helped me with what I wanted to build and I went with a lot of there recommendations they seemed to think between 120 and 150 hp I am hoping toward the high end we'll see
Beautiful bug!!! What is your paint color? I love it!!
Very clean and meticulous work there :-) Would you recommend a size for a bus camper? I'm thinking of keeping my stock 1600 but with dual carbs, upgrade exhaust, etc or a 1776. I'm looking for better hill climbs but not at the expense of longevity
Personally I prefer not to have my cases cut for larger than 92's that being said I do like the thick wall 92's so the heads are cut for 94's the 92 thick walls are dead reliable and you can play with the stroke of the crank and get anywhere for a 1835cc with a 69mm crank 1968cc 92mm x 74mm , 2021cc 92mm x 76mm , 2074cc 92mm x 78mm , 2127cc 92mm x 80mm or my personal favorite the 2180 cc 92mm x 82mm all of these engines have the same bore only the strokes are changed i would consider any of these as reliable just keep the cams mild and the sump deep I really like cb performances 4 quart deep sump hope that helps
@@popsgarage6621 Thanks for the info :-)
Would love to see some video of the bug
As soon as the temp drops below 100
On the engine? Maybe because you dont have a dog house with oil cooler out?
Thats sound!!!!!
how much hp produce this engine? nice sound!!!!
What's the jetting you have on your carbs
What jetting are u running on the duals?
Yes sir
Any updates on the super mouse??
do you ever get worried running your engine on those stands? I have the same stand and i'm worried just working on the engine rolling it around the garage.
What compression ratio was this one set up at?
Are those 1 1/2" or 1 5/8" headers ?
Do you have a link to the ZALEX run box your displayed at 1:16?
Yes you can find it at zalexindustries.com
I’m thinking I need that exhaust. My 1776 sounds pathetic compared to that
I love the way that motor sounds. What do you think it would cost for me to build the same thing
I believe I have about 7 thousand in it
Heads 1200
case 1100
carbs 900
exhaust 1100
crank and flywheel plus balancing 500
rods 350
tool steel wrist pins 450
tool steel lifters 500
berg blueprinted pump 150
sachs clutch ect ect ect
new engine tin distributor wires plugs fuel lines
oil cooler full flow filter pulleys linkage
berg welded and balanced race fan
it all adds up
Damn that sounds good! Who makes the exhaust?
A1 I believe they do custom exhaust out in California. Call him I was told by CB Performance they are on FB & IG, they can build u a custom exhaust in about 3-4 weeks.
What kind of trans axle are you going to run ? My beetle in 81 had close ration 3rd gear and I would out run V8 camaros
I just put in a freeway flyer In a all new Rhino case with a super diff and weddle axles Built by Ben at Benco
beautiful, where can I buy that exhaust from , does it fit well on the stock locations
I purchased the exhaust thru Pierside
Then they talked to A-1 and we did a custom configuration
And yes it fits great right out of the stock cut outs
Is it Web 86s?
Well done, Wonderful.
How much does it cost?
I didn't have any used parts in the build ,everything was new so it was a expensive build about 8,000 in the engine
Great engine, Where did you get those pipes ?
I got them from Pierside parts in Huntington Beach Talk to Larry
Souds good for a 1776 motor
would that exhaust clear on a bagged bug
I'm not sure mine is more euro style so there is more clearance under the rear
sub'd
2:22
What cam is this running pops
Im running a 2250 Eagle Racing Camshaft from cb performance
what cam are you running ? Great engine !
The Cam is a Eagle 2250 with Udo Becker tool steel lifters from Germany
Thanks
Ok , thanks
Looks great...
who built the exhaust? Sounds great!
The exhaust was custom built by A-1 Exhaust I ordered it thru Pierside Parts they have a great knowledge base and have been around for years
Looks nice... did u build it yourself..
Yes from the crank up
Im in the middle of filming a 2180 build
Where can I get that exhaust from?
I got mine from Pierside Parts in Huntinton Beach (714) 848-8868
Will this fit in a 1969 vw beetle without any mods?
I have not done any modifications to the body on my bug . it also fits under the deck without modifying the hinges or the standoff.
Thanks so much for the information ! Any idea where one would buy one?
@@dezmonseth674 www.piersideparts.net great guys really helpful
That is a wicked exhaust! What’s the price tag on that??
It was about $1100
Pop's Garage absolutely beautiful!
@@nittygrittykitchen thanks did you get your dizzy figured out ?
Pop's Garage sure did. Got a pertronix and new wires.
Where can you buy that exhaust
I purchased mine thru Pierside Parts In Huntington Beach california great guys piersideparts.net
the prices vary depending on how you want it built
also what size is that system 2" or 2.5"
The header is 1 5/8" and the exhaust is 2 1/2"
thank you pops, i'm very keen to see a driveby on this bug ...
Do you have your build specs somewhere?
Most everything is in the description all the machine work was done by cb performance I will add some things to the description to round it out thanks
Who made the exhaust
Hey Doug
It's made by A-1
Where did you find that exhaust system??
Cb performance.....super expensive, but great quality!
Its a A-1 Sidewinder I purchased it thru Pierside Parts they are located in Huntington Beach or at www.piersideparts.net
Ok! Thanks on both!
How much hp?
117 at the flywheel
Would this exhaust fit a 1300 ?
I'm not sure give Pierside Parts a call
Pop's Garage did they build yours custom ?? I'm running a 1380 in mine
nothing like 5000rpm's
How is name of the muffler?
The exhaust is made by A-1 Muffler -Performance Exhaust Manufacturing in Santa Ana California
They are great guys and will answer and questions you have
@@popsgarage6621 really a very good job, I would like to have it on my wish list. I currently have an EMPI Sidewinder on a 1914CC engine
How much would it cost for you to build me a motor ?
If you would like to build an engine I would love to give you a hand
