This brings memories of TOKYO EXTREME RACER ZERO for my ps2. Being challenged by wanderers depending on day and time trying to beat all the local racers and looking for rare encounters around the Wangan

Evos are like leopards. Pretty good in all fields. Agility. Sprint. Power. And flexibility. You could focus on any and the evo can do it. Hence it was told here that in terms of ability. The evo is 15. Blackbird 10 and the devil z 8. Evos are used on drag strips. Time attacks. Rally. Jesus. The perfect car.
It's not surprising, considering a stock Evo can eat stock GT-R's for breakfast on circuit tracks. Check out Best Motoring Japan. The VR4 and Evo are top dogs. Mitsubishi was in it's prime!

I like WM about the same. The thing I hate the most about Initial D is that they over-hype every race and then during the race they constantly show people blabbing about who they think will win and why lol. Wangan Midnight is just tuning and racing and less BS. haha
Not trying to start an argument, but conversely I found the story of Initial D a lot more boring xd For me, the plot of Initial D was just "I want to get better at racing" and not much more than that. With Wangan Midnight, they dive deeper into motives, reasoning, passion, etc. You have characters going through existential crises, racing for justice, means for escape, etc. It may seem jarring with all the cuts and jumps, but I feel that WM has a stronger plot than ID because they really dig into the "why" of racing.

Should it comes to Wangan, probably it is in the same league with both the Blackbird and Z. And sometimes, quoting Ryosuke Takahashi, there're some amateur racing drivers that possess the same skills as a professional drivers. Eiji, and Dr God Arm are the example of that.
