Now just if we can get a nfs like game that is in the classic eras of racing. I don't care which one 80s to the early 90s and 90s to early 2000s. Hell 70s to early 80s. 60s to early 70s. 50s to early 60s. Or even 40s to early 50s. The ideas are endless the capabilities for a game like that is possible any of those decades would make a epic story based open world racing game that you can play the story online cutscenes and every thing we don't need 600 plus cars. Just cars that have been built or tuned for street racing I don't want super or extremely high end sports cars. Just the cars from tuner and muscle guy cultures.

They should do a season 2! Now that Initial D is such a big deal I think Wangan Midnight would develop a huge following also if they had high quality animation. And Maximum Tune is still going so....
The theme of Wangan Midnight is probably a little deep for mass appeal. Unlike how Initial D which is action oriented, where even non-car lovers could easily enjoy, Wangan is really hard for new audiences who had no-clue of what the show is all about. I bet this is why they couldn't get a higher budget for it, even the manga itself wasn't popular enough, most people (especially foreigner) only learned about this show from the arcade and games.

I love this anime because characters such as Reina, Blackbird, Ishida have good social status and big income going crazy trying to be the fastest street racer, ahead of devil Z. It's quite unreal but for me they look so cool while in real most rich people try to be flashy buying expensive cars, with none of racer's spirits. I started watching Wangan Midnight shortly after I bought a mint Datsun S130 three years ago. I became addicted to high-speed driving, and this anime was practically encouraging it haha. One night the police managed to stay within view of me without their lights or sirens on until I pulled off the highway. When they finally caught up to me they started tailgating me and I thought it was someone wanting a race. So I lost them on the S-turns easily and then they finally turned their sirens and flashers on so I pulled over. My car got impounded and I got a massive ticket. But I got the S130 back and still have it. If I lived in Japan I would probably build a really fast car and prove myself to the Midnight club so I can drive with them!
Dude turned around and was all like, "WTF??!!!🤷♂️😯🤔 Then after she takes off in his ride he's all just like "uh...well, f**k it..might as well, if you're going jack my sh*t fine, I'll jack yours and chase your ass down!! Dude is driving a 40+ year old classic tuner and she's in a much more modern, all wheel drive, twin turbo I-6 and somehow he's still faster??!!! Is the Z completely gutted with a seriously modified engine or was that what appeared to be the factory powerplant under the hood just done up to look like a sleeper? I mean, the weight advantage is the only real thing that makes sense to me, cuz the R32 comes stock with a substantial hp advantage as well as also being AWD as opposed to the Z's F-RWD set up. And closer to the end, after she goes to the auto shop to increase HP and so forth, they talk about her potentially running around 600 hp or above which should easily overcome any kind of weight disadvantages from before!! @@thedude41780 No no, I know what you mean. Haha. Objectively, from a mechanical perspective, the Z seems like it should always be at the disadvantage. But as said multiple times in the anime, there is something supernatural about the Z's speed and about the car in general. Even it's father, Kitami Jun said, "There are parts even I don't understand." It's almost like Satan himself gave it 800-900 HP, or perhaps one could even say something as mysterious as, "The Z's HP cannot be shown on paper or revealed during dyno runs. It surfaces in the heat of battle, when the car is enjoying life most." That Z has a life of it's own and it HUNGERS for velocity. In one clip, it basically "twitched" as if in excitement at the arrival of it's owner, when it was badly damaged. Jun, the "tuner from hell," himself has an almost supernatural ability to tune engines beyond their normally conceivable limits, which, naturally makes for an incredibly difficult vehicle to handle. Very interesting anime, honestly. And you have to love the variants of the Z's theme.
A lot people havent noticed that there is one arc got skipped in the anime which is the akasaka straight arc i wish that this arc is animated because this is the arc that connects the dots to both akio and reina's past. Yeah I said that because he and reina used to be neighbors but due to akio's parents divorced he moved away to yokohama when she tried to get the opportunity to be friends with him which technically is the reason of her source of lonliness in the series since then when that boy that she met revealed to be akio himself all along her feelings for him becomes much more apparant and wants to remain in akio side forever she is the only one who understands him. Due to the fact that these two have a abandonment issues. Which technically speaking they are destined to meet via devil z
Actually, another thing i want to add is that the Devil Z has the most impact on every character so far. First, it causes Shima to up his game and causes him to find ways to get faster, which lead to him meeting kitami and have his car tuned to beat the devil z. The Z reunites Akio and Reina. Now, as for the arc special characters. Ishida: gives him the reason to stay alive and confronts his lack of satisfaction despite being rich Hiramoto: Reina' R, influenced by the Z, along with the story of the Z's accident causes him to return to racing Masaki: Unable to catch up to it, Masaki decided t go back to racing to seek Ota and his RX-7 FD Kei Aizawa: though he didnt meet the Z till late in the arc, it's phantom influence can be seen where Akio uses his driving skill from the Z to outrun Kei in the wounded blackbird. The news of Kei's defeat eventually led to hia father's friends to help Kei beat the Z, although in reality, they just want to make Kei give up racing fearing that he will end up like his father Kuroki: He encounters Reina who is looking for Akio, and is completely outrun by her, and later chased by the Z itself. Meeting blachird eventually causes him to close his shop, retune his R, and quittng the R200CLUB
Eiji: Hearing the rumors of the Z is one of the factors of him going to Tokyo, and getting outrun by it led him to get Rikako to tune his Evo, allowing her to showcase her abilities as a tuner despite being a university student Rikako: Ironically, it was Eiji's evo which causes Akio to get Rikako to overhaul the Z, which allows Kitami to focus completely on the blackbird after handing the responsibilites of the Z to Rikako. Kouchi Kijima: Driving the Z causes him to realize the old thrill of racing and returns to the racing world, causing him to search for his lost FC.
Tomoya: He is influenced by the way Akio drives and how fast the devil Z is, which gives him the confidence to increase his race pace and race against the blackbird. When he crashed the ACE 34R, Akio and Tomoya builds a new demo car from an abandoned 32R and the rebuild 34R engine. Makoto and Yamashita: Encountering the Devil Z and not being able to catch up to it, coupled with Hiroki not supporting her activities leads makoto to have a sense of realization and dumps her boyfriend and sells her impreza, which leads her to meeting Yamashita and the Z32. Makoto's determination to race convinced him to go back to tuning again and affirms his belief in thr Z32. After taking a ride with Akio in the Devil Z, Yamashita decided to return to the tuning world and hires Makoto to work for him. The F1 Turbine: When Blackbird got the phantom f1 turbine, it gives the car an added power, but Shima is fearful of losing control of it and crash since it affects the car's balance. So Shima swapped it for a regular f1 turbine and gave the phantom ones to Akio and the Devil Z. At the same time, Akio is obssessed by the Blackbird's run with the f1 turbine and decided to work on blackbird's body, such as improving it's throttle tuning and suspension geometry. This turbine causes Akio to highlights the importance of the Z and the Blackbird to each other, as seen in the series when they constantly one up the other. Yuji Kishida: Meeting the Z and the Blackbird convinced Yuji to build a Zero Fighter Plane on the ground and helps him face his past and acknowledges his present situation. Ogishima: getting outrun by the trio's car causes him to quit GT cars magazine and led him to tune his FD into a highway special car. Ogishima also further hones his skills to become the FD master.

These three characters and their cars influenced other characters in a way that causes them to risk everything they had, like their jobs, money, family, and pride to be faster than them. Although each character has a bigger influence than the other on certain arcs. Most of their actions wouldn't have been possible without the Devil Z's return. Without it, Ishida would probably give up on life, Hiramoto would probably have an long itch to go back to race whoch was sated by the Z's return, Masaki wouldn't got married to Maami, Ota, Yamamoto, Gatchan, Tominaga, Kuroki, Kijima would probably have a normal, but unsatisfied r life, Kei would probably involved in an accident due to chasing his father's shadow and not being able to be himself, the R200CLUB would have spread terror on the wangan, Eiji's relationship with hia family wouldn't improve, especially with Maki, Rikako would not be able to prove herself as a tuner, Makoto would probably have a miserable life with her boyfriend, Yamashita would not return and alleviates the Z32's potential, Yuji would probably be depressed and Ogishima wouldn't have become the FD master.

Blackbird is actually a Ruf Yellowbird painted in black. It is based on a very tuned up 911 turbo that was on its time the fastest poduction based road car getting record laps at Nurbugring they still have one in Ruf motors, and other more modern with better performance such as the 9ff

BUT HE FINALLY UNDERSTOODS HER. And tells to Reina that he waits for her return. And, i think that, if the manga would have a longer run, she just dissapears for one or two archs. (because from the start to end, an arc dures abou 3 to 10 months)

The guys that actually does this stuff seeing this anime went "No way" when it showed 500-550hp boost-up GT-R's barely breaking 180k on the Wangan, so Smokey Nagata went out in one and brought Video Option along (anyone who doesnt know Smokey or Video Option = tfo) reaching 300+ km/h very very easily. Also, now you can get the very exotics that the famous trio (GT-R, Supra, Evo) were basically built to be bought and tuned to beat, for WAY less money, we're talking untouched original 911's and BMW's with untapped potential, for less than half that of what a molested member of the trio (the big thing with Japanese cars these days is 100% original parts) with the whole HKS/Greddy/Cusco/Mine's/Jun catalogues randomly bolted in them, IMO that's embarrassing since they were always meant to be more attainable 😂

It's reallly slow.
It's just over 80 km/h in some zones (about 50 MPH) like the Ariake straight, and just 50 kmh (35 - 38 mph) in the C1.
Such a good show..if only they get higher budget on the character art and animations, this will become a true classic.

I started watching Wangan Midnight shortly after I bought a mint Datsun S130 three years ago. I became addicted to high-speed driving, and this anime was practically encouraging it haha. One night the police managed to stay within view of me without their lights or sirens on until I pulled off the highway. When they finally caught up to me they started tailgating me and I thought it was someone wanting a race. So I lost them on the S-turns easily and then they finally turned their sirens and flashers on so I pulled over. My car got impounded and I got a massive ticket. But I got the S130 back and still have it. If I lived in Japan I would probably build a really fast car and prove myself to the Midnight club so I can drive with them!

I mean, the weight advantage is the only real thing that makes sense to me, cuz the R32 comes stock with a substantial hp advantage as well as also being AWD as opposed to the Z's F-RWD set up.
And closer to the end, after she goes to the auto shop to increase HP and so forth, they talk about her potentially running around 600 hp or above which should easily overcome any kind of weight disadvantages from before!!
Then again, I may just be getting too damn caught up in all the specs of an anime, so maybe I'm just being an OCD anal retentive buzzkill! Lmao!!🤔🤔🤷♂️

@@thedude41780 No no, I know what you mean. Haha. Objectively, from a mechanical perspective, the Z seems like it should always be at the disadvantage. But as said multiple times in the anime, there is something supernatural about the Z's speed and about the car in general. Even it's father, Kitami Jun said, "There are parts even I don't understand." It's almost like Satan himself gave it 800-900 HP, or perhaps one could even say something as mysterious as, "The Z's HP cannot be shown on paper or revealed during dyno runs. It surfaces in the heat of battle, when the car is enjoying life most." That Z has a life of it's own and it HUNGERS for velocity. In one clip, it basically "twitched" as if in excitement at the arrival of it's owner, when it was badly damaged. Jun, the "tuner from hell," himself has an almost supernatural ability to tune engines beyond their normally conceivable limits, which, naturally makes for an incredibly difficult vehicle to handle. Very interesting anime, honestly. And you have to love the variants of the Z's theme.
A lot people havent noticed that there is one arc got skipped in the anime which is the akasaka straight arc i wish that this arc is animated because this is the arc that connects the dots to both akio and reina's past. Yeah I said that because he and reina used to be neighbors but due to akio's parents divorced he moved away to yokohama when she tried to get the opportunity to be friends with him which technically is the reason of her source of lonliness in the series since then when that boy that she met revealed to be akio himself all along her feelings for him becomes much more apparant and wants to remain in akio side forever she is the only one who understands him. Due to the fact that these two have a abandonment issues.
Which technically speaking they are destined to meet via devil z
Actually, another thing i want to add is that the Devil Z has the most impact on every character so far. First, it causes Shima to up his game and causes him to find ways to get faster, which lead to him meeting kitami and have his car tuned to beat the devil z. The Z reunites Akio and Reina. Now, as for the arc special characters.
Ishida: gives him the reason to stay alive and confronts his lack of satisfaction despite being rich
Hiramoto: Reina' R, influenced by the Z, along with the story of the Z's accident causes him to return to racing
Masaki: Unable to catch up to it, Masaki decided t go back to racing to seek Ota and his RX-7 FD
Kei Aizawa: though he didnt meet the Z till late in the arc, it's phantom influence can be seen where Akio uses his driving skill from the Z to outrun Kei in the wounded blackbird. The news of Kei's defeat eventually led to hia father's friends to help Kei beat the Z, although in reality, they just want to make Kei give up racing fearing that he will end up like his father
Kuroki: He encounters Reina who is looking for Akio, and is completely outrun by her, and later chased by the Z itself. Meeting blachird eventually causes him to close his shop, retune his R, and quittng the R200CLUB

Eiji: Hearing the rumors of the Z is one of the factors of him going to Tokyo, and getting outrun by it led him to get Rikako to tune his Evo, allowing her to showcase her abilities as a tuner despite being a university student
Rikako: Ironically, it was Eiji's evo which causes Akio to get Rikako to overhaul the Z, which allows Kitami to focus completely on the blackbird after handing the responsibilites of the Z to Rikako.
Kouchi Kijima: Driving the Z causes him to realize the old thrill of racing and returns to the racing world, causing him to search for his lost FC.
Tomoya: He is influenced by the way Akio drives and how fast the devil Z is, which gives him the confidence to increase his race pace and race against the blackbird. When he crashed the ACE 34R, Akio and Tomoya builds a new demo car from an abandoned 32R and the rebuild 34R engine.
Makoto and Yamashita: Encountering the Devil Z and not being able to catch up to it, coupled with Hiroki not supporting her activities leads makoto to have a sense of realization and dumps her boyfriend and sells her impreza, which leads her to meeting Yamashita and the Z32. Makoto's determination to race convinced him to go back to tuning again and affirms his belief in thr Z32. After taking a ride with Akio in the Devil Z, Yamashita decided to return to the tuning world and hires Makoto to work for him.
The F1 Turbine: When Blackbird got the phantom f1 turbine, it gives the car an added power, but Shima is fearful of losing control of it and crash since it affects the car's balance. So Shima swapped it for a regular f1 turbine and gave the phantom ones to Akio and the Devil Z. At the same time, Akio is obssessed by the Blackbird's run with the f1 turbine and decided to work on blackbird's body, such as improving it's throttle tuning and suspension geometry. This turbine causes Akio to highlights the importance of the Z and the Blackbird to each other, as seen in the series when they constantly one up the other.
Yuji Kishida: Meeting the Z and the Blackbird convinced Yuji to build a Zero Fighter Plane on the ground and helps him face his past and acknowledges his present situation.
Ogishima: getting outrun by the trio's car causes him to quit GT cars magazine and led him to tune his FD into a highway special car. Ogishima also further hones his skills to become the FD master.

These three characters and their cars influenced other characters in a way that causes them to risk everything they had, like their jobs, money, family, and pride to be faster than them. Although each character has a bigger influence than the other on certain arcs. Most of their actions wouldn't have been possible without the Devil Z's return. Without it, Ishida would probably give up on life, Hiramoto would probably have an long itch to go back to race whoch was sated by the Z's return, Masaki wouldn't got married to Maami, Ota, Yamamoto, Gatchan, Tominaga, Kuroki, Kijima would probably have a normal, but unsatisfied r life, Kei would probably involved in an accident due to chasing his father's shadow and not being able to be himself, the R200CLUB would have spread terror on the wangan, Eiji's relationship with hia family wouldn't improve, especially with Maki, Rikako would not be able to prove herself as a tuner, Makoto would probably have a miserable life with her boyfriend, Yamashita would not return and alleviates the Z32's potential, Yuji would probably be depressed and Ogishima wouldn't have become the FD master.
The moment she got of the car after almost getting split by that guard rail, is the moment you strike down a human like zeus.

The guys that actually does this stuff seeing this anime went "No way" when it showed 500-550hp boost-up GT-R's barely breaking 180k on the Wangan, so Smokey Nagata went out in one and brought Video Option along (anyone who doesnt know Smokey or Video Option = tfo) reaching 300+ km/h very very easily.
Also, now you can get the very exotics that the famous trio (GT-R, Supra, Evo) were basically built to be bought and tuned to beat, for WAY less money, we're talking untouched original 911's and BMW's with untapped potential, for less than half that of what a molested member of the trio (the big thing with Japanese cars these days is 100% original parts) with the whole HKS/Greddy/Cusco/Mine's/Jun catalogues randomly bolted in them, IMO that's embarrassing since they were always meant to be more attainable 😂
Smokey's GTR is 1000hp tho. Of course he was able to do 300km/h.

Point stands though, the exotics the trio was built to beat are now cheaper.

Also, i dont think Smokey just went for a mere boost job. Knowing Smokey who put v12 and RB26 in a Supra, he probably put something crazy in the GTR.

I said Nagata claimed a typical boost-job Skyline could reach 300km/h.
My dads ancient (compared to modern cars) 4 door sedan Audi can do 300km/h and its bone stock, generates less power and weighs more.
