Idk if you’ve ever tried, but it makes painting a bit easier when you start with your piece upside down 😎. Love this piece!!

You have inspired me to clean up and paint my nightstand! I love what you guys did and the glass knob is the cherry on top!

I believe that originally would have been a side table in a formal living room circa 1940, maybe in New Orleans, with a red velvet terribly uncomfortable sofa and two occasional chairs. With lace crochet doilies. Of course! It’s design is a visual delight! Wish I saw it before you got it ! 😂. I’m jealous ! (But you created a charming table!)

Is mineral paint the same as chalk paint? It looks lovely.

Im new to painting so still learning but from what I read mineral paint gives a much smoother finish than chalk paint. I dont like how chalk paint goes on. I will be switching to mineral paint from now on. I do like the sound of fusion paints

Im new to painting. Im surprised the draw doesn't stick on the inside where you painted. I dont like using spray paint. Can you suggest another primer? I did read that fusion has a primer in it so was curious as to why you used a primer

It often depends on how much the paint adds to the clearance between the drawer and surrounding. If there is very tight clearance, any added layers will make it tighter and will cause it to be tight or to stick. There's times where I would make sure to tape the inside off or sand afterward to keep the proper clearance, but it all depends on the piece.
Priming, regardless of typ of paint, helps ensure adhesion and also helps prevent any bleeding. It's not usually as big of a problem with darker colors, but still good practice to make sure the finish lasts the test of time.
As far as other primers, you could try Zinsser Bullseye. I've used it on a few pieces in the past, and also on other applications around our house throughout the years. It tends to go on a little thin though, so you may need a few coats. But if you're looking for a brush on primer, I would recommend trying that one.
Best of luck in your projects!
