  • This week on Swingin' wit' Willy...
    The Ninja and I did some prospecting to try and find some new locations for more shiny.
    We spent the first few hours in search of some new spots before we gave up and decided to go back to where we had found it in the past.
    Thankfully we found some shiny in one of our favorite creeks. Recent floods had allowed more material to settle on our once clean bedrock.
    Though as it was 35°c and we had a lack of water, I decided to take my Nox for a swing over a mullock that has produced before. Thankfully it didn't dissapoint, giving up 3 nice lil bits..
    I hope you enjoy.
    Good Luck & Happy Swingin'

      Cheers heaps for that comment. Appreciate the support. Its a great machine, you just need to spend time with it to learn what its trying to tell you. Though patience is the key.
      It can be tricky but once you learn it theres no telling what you will find. Just remember to swing slow.

    Hello from Bulgaria, a country in Europe where native gold was sought 7,000 years before Christ. What is left today are smaller pieces than large ones.
    Thank you for the videos you make in search of native gold.
    Can you make a video about the search for native gold with a metal detector minelab equinox 800 with a slightly higher search threshold, for example 15. Since you have more common native gold in Australia and see if there will be a difference with a higher search threshold for equinox 800.

    • @Swingin_wit_Willy
      @Swingin_wit_Willy  2 роки тому +1

      Well hello there.
      Thanks for the question. I shall do an episode on that in the future. But first I will have to get out and have a play with the threshold in the field first before making an epsidoe on this.
      I have only really used it around the 9-10 level as this is where I seem to keep finding those small bits. I feel if I turn it up more I will make it more sensitive to finer gold closer to the surface. Currently I am finding tiny bits down to 1 inch in depth. But it can hurt to try!
      I will have a play around in the field and keep this in mind for a future episode.
      Thanks again.

    Good to see the Nox finding gold. Gives me more confidence to try again. I note you using the 6” coil. What is the cable?

    • @Swingin_wit_Willy
      @Swingin_wit_Willy  2 роки тому +1

      It takes a bit of getting used to if you havent chased gold befofe but it can be done. The biggest thing I suggest is research first, then swing slow.
      That my friend is a coil cable cover. It just slips right over the top of the cabel, more ore less just bling for the nox... plus its my channel colors 😎

      Hey Ian, yeah mate I was using multi frequency in gold mode. This means it was running 20khz as well as 40khz at the same time. The other frequencies are strictly for relic modes.

    Hey Willy. Love ya vids. Do you think the Nox with the 6” coil is as good as the Monster for finding small gold?
    Cheers

    • @Swingin_wit_Willy
      @Swingin_wit_Willy  2 роки тому

      To be honest mate, i think its very close, but I think the monster has a slight edge on the nox... but my smallest piece so far with my nox is 0.010g or 100th of a gram. So if your missing smaller buts than that who cares really! Though I have found 3g with my nox, compared to 0just0found with my mates monster so far!
      It just takes a bit of practice with your machine, also remember, you normally find more lead than gold so dont get disheartened too soon. Stick it out and you will find some shiny.
      Good Luck & Happy Swingin' mate

      Cheers for watching Matthew, I was actually calling it VG mate, meaning Visible Gold, a term we used when we physically see the Gold in the creek before it gets to the pan.
      It's a great feeling spotting it before you wash it, generally if it's old ground and there's visible gold your onto a winner, as we found in our previous day panning in that location.

    Not used the nox for gold. When do you know to use Gold 1 or 2 setting?

    • @Swingin_wit_Willy
      @Swingin_wit_Willy  2 роки тому +1

      Cheers mate, thanks for the question..
      I generally try to run the nox in gold 1 and get it balanced. If it sounds like R2d2 having a rap battle with C3P0 when I swing due to too much mineralized hot rocks, I will flick it over to gold 2 to see if theres a difference. I always do a noise cancel and ground balance afterwards to gauge the difference.
      Gold 1 seems more sensitive so depending on your ground, depends on what you run. Time in the field will help explain it more.
