  • This week on Swingin' wit' Willy... I finally find some gold with my Equinox 800 equipped with the 6 inch coil.
    WOW! Just WOW...
The Equinox 800 is very sensitive to small gold, Dont believe me???
Watch this episode for the proof.
Surely it cant be long until I find that nice piece we can all easily see without squinting..
Ninja also has plenty of luck... as usual.
    I hope you all enjoy.
Thanks for watching, Good Luck & Happy Swingin

I'm going to search your videos but do you have a video were you show how you set up your mine lab 800 for gold. I live in the states and where I'm at in the Midwest the size of gold that you're finding in this video is what I should expect to find in the creeks and rivers that I go to. I am going to try to do some high bench gravel searching this year, I just purchased a 6 inch coil for my detector.

Hey mate. I dont actually have a specific video where i show my settings. But im sure I showed my settings a few times in videos around that time period.
Tbh I havent really changed my settings. I use gold 2 due to heavy mineralization,
Noise cancel ( do this often ),
Then i remove -9/-8 from the list, these are tiny bits of iron rich hot rocks.
Otherwise i have my threshold on 8, tones on 5, lastly I run a swing speed of 3 and always use auto tracking. That way i can easily ground balance every few steps.
Always wear headphones, you can hear everything then. Gold likes to wobble pop, meaning it will give a quick negative number wobble then a clean positive number pop, gold bounces around from -5 to +22, its never a solid target with the id munbers unless its a chunck. Ive even found a bit that gave a wobble pop but no target I d numbers, it was gold!
      Hope this helps.
Good Luck & Happy Swingin' mate.

Cheers Treasure Kings, much appreciate the comment mate.
The smallest piece I have actually detected with my nox was 0.010g or 100th of a gram. It was half an inch in a patch, that I sat on my knees and slowly sratched through.
I generally tend to find the sub point pieces with the nox, though I have found a nice specie with 1.55g of gold in it with the nox also.
The larger the target the higher the target I'd number will be.
      Cheers for watching mate.

Cheers for watching mate, I do love that gully. Its been very kind to us.
The nox is great, its even better when you have a 6 inch on it. I prefer it over the gm simply because of the target id numbers.
It helped me find plenty of gold after years of no reward with the X-Terra 705 which had no id numbers, I still found 5 bits with it after 4 years, then I bought the nox...

Hey mate I got the nox 800 and find it struggles and brings up false targets all the time. You running gold 1 or gold 2? @@wogboy4708 hey hey mate.
      What area are you swingin?
If its mineralized as hell like where I find my gold in eastern vic, you want gold 2.
      I run it in 40khz,
      Then noise cancel.
      I always use auto tracking,
      Volume where comfortable,
      Reject -9/-8
      Threshold on 8
      Tones on 1
      Swing speed on 2-3.
Sensitivity around 17-21 if its really quiet you can turn it up a few. It it starts getting eratic back it off one or two on the sensitivity.
Ground balance buy puming up and down , around in a circle to sample the ground...
Then your set. Just remember swing slowly. Yourll hear the targets!
I will make an episode about my gold settings and how to retrieve the target succesfully very soon. I have been getting alot of these types of questions. There a lot to consider and learn.
Keep your eyes peeled for that in the next month or so. I just have to get a chance to get out to some gold ground to film it. But I have a few things on over the next two weeks. So i will get onto it asap.

@@Swingin_wit_Willy I'm in Qld on the sunny coast mate, haven't tried at a decent place here in qld where gold has been found because I didn't think the nox was up too it. I lived in the Pilbara for 3 years and it's about as heavy mineralised as it gets in Australia and the nox was just chirping its head off. Had to put sensitivity to 15 to get it quiet down, then just kept digging holes and it would keep saying its in the hole. False targets I thought.
Cheers for the settings mate, I'll go and try it at an old Gold mine here. One thing for sure is the nox 800 is a weopen on the beach. No dramas there 👍

The nox is good and very sensitive, it can be a little tricky to get used to but its a great machine.
So long as you swing really slow and listen carefully and pay attention to the tid numbers you will have no problems. I suggest having a test piece to swing over in the field. Helps get your ear in.
I found a gram in specs on one small mullock that an sdc and a gold bug had been over in super hot ground. Patience is key.

    • @Swingin_wit_Willy
      @Swingin_wit_Willy  2 роки тому +1

Nice mate, I am sure you will love it and how well it runs. Just take a test piece with you into the field to get your ear in at the start of each day until your confident you know the sound your chasing.
I can confidently say, Yes it can find small pieces of gold with the 11" coil, however it is a bit of a struggle to pinpoint your targets.
I found a few small bits and 2 small species with the 11" coil but have found much more with the 6 inch as the ground I work is fairly hot. So the smaller coil is a great investment. Its also better for use in trashy ground, I only ever use my 6 inch coil now days, doesnt matter if im chasing coins or gold its a weapon, plus its lighter!

Hey Terry. I was actually not far from you when i filmed this ep.
It all depends on the ground my friend. If you can run in Gold 1 and the machine is nice and quiet you will be fine. But around your area i was using gold 2. Theres a fair bit of mineralized gravels in the ground. I would start with Gold 2. After your used to it have a play with the two. Also cancel out -9 & -8, they are hotrock tones 😁
I also tend to run the machine on 40khz not 20 or multi...

why don't you also check the part of the sand that you empty from the scoop, instead you throw the sand out of your hands where there might be another nugget of gold 🤔 You need to check the sand what you drop to your hands !

    • @Swingin_wit_Willy
      @Swingin_wit_Willy  2 роки тому +1

Cheers for the comment mate, the reason I don't check the dirt in my hand if I have a target in the scoop is that its a Vlf machine... its so sensitive it will pick up on the iron content in your hand giving off faulse signals.
I throw all my spoils onto one small pile so that I can check it again with the machine later.
Once I have found the target and put it away, I flatten the spoil pile and then check with the detector again, then double check the hole incase there's another target.
It's hard to show the whole process every time as it would drag out the length of the episodes.
People generally only watch for up to 10 mins...
I will make series of some short episodes soon on techniques and tips for both coins and gold recovery in the near future.
