I'm a beach detectorist and almost didn't watch your video, what a mistake that would have been. Your description at the end of the video confirms much of what i thought might be so. Thank you, Mike
Just Brilliant!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge that was so informative. I inherited a relic off my old man this year a GARRETT ADS DEEPSEEKER, he got a lotta joy from that machine walking the goldfields of Wedderburn. He never found any gold though and I always felt a bit sorry that he didn’t, but he’s got me hooked to try and find the yellow stuff so I’ve decided to get myself an Equinox and after your inspirational vid it’ll be a 900. Hope to bump into you in the bush one day. Thanks again and good luck hunting. Cheers Marty from Melbourne🇦🇺
You may have just made my mind up. Great video mate 🍻 looking at spending a few grand and this seems like the g.o. I could go a bit further and look at a 5000 or 6000 but I'd only know if I could test them all 🤣
I really enjoy your videos and I am glad I purchased the Minelab 900. I moved from Northern California to Montana and I do live in gold country. I have logged just about 6 hours on my Minelab and expect to do a minimum of 40 hours a month on it so will be using the 6" coil for gold soon! The only thing I will add is to get a dedicated shaft for every coil so the change out is much easier. You are a great presenter!
A question if you will, Coffee Bush Kid. Do like the 900 more, or as much as the Gold Monster 1000 for the way you like to work the fields? I'm really glad I found this video. The settings you show helped me very much with my 900. Hope you find lots more gold, sir.

Thanks for your review of the 900 have recently purchased and have tried it out, being a novice you have really helped and I’m looking forward to my next trip detecting, hopefully I find some yellow stuff.
Thanks for the 900 evaluation. Happy New Year and hoping you find a ton of gold. Already planned to purchase the 900, but your video has convinced me more. Say hi to Mish for me.
Thank you Mike....very good information for this green back.....Just got my Minelab 900. 2 weeks ago ....Im trying to learn as much as I can before heading out to the beaches and rivers. Excellent informative video when hunting for gold with the brand new Equinox 900 @The Coffee Bush Kid I will be keen to put my 900 to the test using your tips and tricks when out hunting the goldfields next! All the best to you and Viv for 2023👍⛏️
You talked me into it mate. I spoke to you yesterday with Dave. Bought the 900 straight after the live Show finished.👌 Shame there is not much native gold in Toowoomba, may try the Warwick fields.
Andrew! Thanks for a really informative and straightforward look at the new 900 and pushing the envelope into gold mode. Like everyone else, I was agog at what I was hearing about the new Manticore - this mythical Excalibur (NO MANTICORE!) was not a surprising next step after the success of the Equinox series. What was surprising was MineLab dropping TWO new Equinox versions even before the Manticore is being delivered! That borders on marketing overload. I’m SO awash in options! But you’re absolutely right! As sexy as that short little f&@$er looks in your lap? Well, I’m going to have to buy one of them! Happy New Year 🎉
Gday Dug. You are right about the overload but there you go. With luck I will be getting my manticore this week. That will be interesting. Happy new year mate and may it be a great one for you 🦘🦘😁👍
That was a great video. Little pieces on the 900 . Looks like a great machine. Think I’ll get 1 . Then I can still use all my coils. !! Happy new year old chap. Say hi to Viv . 👍👍

I dig everything so if I were to ever upgrade it would probably be to a PI machine like the 6000. Keep up the good work! 👍

Hi over there! Finland is calling:) Many thanks for the Equinox 900 video. I dig gold in Northern Finland and I am planning to buy a new detector. The 900 (the price is now 1 199€, 2 coils) is interesting but I am thinking to buy the GM 1000 (the price here is now 959€, 2 coils) . The nuggets are really small where I dig and I hope to find a detector that could help to find them. The soil is highly mineralized (My AT Gold shows the reading > 80). Do you have a 900 vs 1000 comparison video or could you give me recommendation between these two ones. I have currently a Garret At Gold and a new X-terra Pro (which I am going to use on beaches and fields). BR. Kaj
How do you think it would go in the Kalgoorlie area with the really heavily mineralised soils ? I have a gpx4500 for myself but thinking of getting a equinox 900 for my daughter's and grand daughter's because they are small people and the equinox 900's are so light.
Gday Charles. If you say it is really mineralised it may struggle but if gold is shallow I would think it could be ok but the other factor you mentioned is the light weight for small people it would be great and they could chase coins and relics in your dump sites over there. Would have the 6” coil on for both. The other option would be SDC 2300 but they do have some weight on them for small folk. Good luck 😁👍
Very informative video Andrew, got two and it’s all you can ask for from a brilliant detector, I’m in the same boat as you, seriously considering the manticore as my upgrade, I’m watching a lot of UA-cam videos about it and I’m still not sold on weather it will find anything I haven’t found already in the places I detect at, It seems that a lot of people I’ve watched seem to watch that dot on the line to dig a target and more often than not it’s been junk, not to say I don’t dig junk with the Nox, I do but the 40 number ID seems like it’s easier to understand than the 99 ID, I’m at that point probably like you.. I almost know what I’m about to dig out but even if you know it’s junk you dig it just incase lol 😂, Happy New Year mate 👍
Gday Jim. I have already bought one. Just waiting for it to arrive. This week I hope. We did a test in the shop on gold and I reckon it may well be a changer in trashy sites that have gold underneath them. Learning the new IDs will be a challenge but we had to learn it for the nox. Interesting times ahead 👍😁
A couple of firsts for me. Just came across your channel and really enjoyed it. Thanks! My next first is I've just dived into this hobby and picked up my Nox 900 today! It's currently charging and the leaning process starts tomorrow...!
What numbers are we actually digging when detecting in gold mode? I still havnt figured out what’s the difference in gold or field or park when it comes to getting good signals and knowing what they may be
Gday Damien. You are digging any repeatable numbers. Gold will come in at 3 or 80. It just depends on the size. You will know what it is when it’s in your hand. Experience will give you a good idea of what things may be but there will always be surprises. Dig all the repeatable signals and that way you will build your knowledge base. Good luck 😁👍
That's what I want to know. And what's best for mineralised soil. The you tube channel NYC DETECTING says that the Manticore goes an inch or so deeper. All You Tube say the 900 is slightly better with better features than the 800. I'm going for the Equinox 900 for the beach and the GF when we go to Kalgoorlie. I got a second hand GPX4500 with all extras and an external speaker for $1800. If your serious about gold you can't go past a old GPX4500 or 5000.
Thanks mate excellent video and very informative.......just one thing with all that bright shiny equipment you actually looked like a new chum 😂but of course you’re not because you have a lot of knowledge which only comes from experience thanks again 👍
I like the new style and structure of the 900 I got lot of gold with the 800 only using the 6inch coil I am looking at getting a new detector still deciding which one I like doing crevicing and mullucks. I will make my decision soon.

It seems that a lot of people I’ve watched seem to watch that dot on the line to dig a target and more often than not it’s been junk, not to say I don’t dig junk with the Nox, I do but the 40 number ID seems like it’s easier to understand than the 99 ID,
I’m at that point probably like you..
Just ordered the 900 that's a lot of money. But I'm handicapped walking hurts....if im active the rust sometimes allows me a smile.
That’s brilliant. Good luck with your hunting. May it bring many a smile 😁👍
Good job sir!
Nice finds!
Thanks Dawn 😁👍
Really good video thank you.
Thanks for watching 😁👍
A couple of firsts for me. Just came across your channel and really enjoyed it. Thanks!
My next first is I've just dived into this hobby and picked up my Nox 900 today! It's currently charging and the leaning process starts tomorrow...!
Good luck with the hunt Lee. Hope you find some great things 👍😁
Great video, but how deep you can find a gold nuggets by this machine?
It depends on the size of the nugget. Small shallow, larger deeper and ground mineralization will have an effect too. Good luck 😁👍
Xin chào tôi đến từ Việt Nam. Có phải muốn dò vàng nhỏ như vậy trên equinox 900 phải thay mâm dò khác không vậy ngài
Which one is best for gold nuggets? EQUINOX 800 /EQUINOX 900 or MANTICORE ??
That's what I want to know. And what's best for mineralised soil. The you tube channel NYC DETECTING says that the Manticore goes an inch or so deeper. All You Tube say the 900 is slightly better with better features than the 800. I'm going for the Equinox 900 for the beach and the GF when we go to Kalgoorlie. I got a second hand GPX4500 with all extras and an external speaker for $1800. If your serious about gold you can't go past a old GPX4500 or 5000.
You said at the beginning auto grand tracking, how do I set it up on equinox 900?
Gday Max. It should already be in it in factory preset in the gold modes 👍
I don’t have it :(
I’m using the beach mode ( searching on the beach)
It is only in the gold mode on the 900. All the other modes have manual ground balance. Good luck 😁👍
Thanks mate excellent video and very informative.......just one thing with all that bright shiny equipment you actually looked like a new chum 😂but of course you’re not because you have a lot of knowledge which only comes from experience thanks again 👍
🤣🤣 thanks Brian. You would have to be talking about the equipment because I’m not shiny 🤣. Glad you liked the video 👍😁
What brand of Snake Chaps do you wear ?
Miners Den au brand. Very comfy 😁👍
Amazing.
Hi, Just want to ask where did you bought your equinox 900?
I didn’t buy it. I was given a loan of the 900 to test drive. I would buy one from Miners Den au. Good staff and service 😁👍
That’s tiny pieces of gold very interesting that small
G day Andrew hope your had a lovely Christmas mate brilliant video as all ways have a lovely happy new year see you in 2023 mate
Thanks for the kind words John. Glad to have you along in 2023 👍😁
The most important message you are giving especially to beginners?? Dig every target and learn from each item
Can it be used at the beach and in the water?
Absolutely. It's water proof to 5 metres and has a beach setting.
I really like your snake leggings ? I wonder if I can get them in the states
When I had the 800 i always went with the grain of the bedrock not the other way it helped
I like the new style and structure of the 900 I got lot of gold with the 800 only using the 6inch coil I am looking at getting a new detector still deciding which one I like doing crevicing and mullucks. I will make my decision soon.
Little nuggy looks like Australia Andrew!
Haha 😁👍
What is the maximum depth of this gold?
This gold I found was no more than 1 1/2” down.
Good
Where is the Aerogard?
