      Now here's the crazy thing. Its more profitable for the company to never promote him, never give him a raise, at the risk of losing a good worker. To the company, he is replaceable STILL, no matter how hard you work that's how the company will view you, as nothing but a work horse.
      it's impressive and it's beautiful to watch a man work like this, but to get to this point, and to be at this point, is NOT AT ALL worth it.

      @@maoduida387 you never know what that man has been through. Maybe this company was the only place to hire him. I worked with a convict once and he worked so hard because he always said he had to prove himself to the company since they already were kind of iffy with him. I remember we had a meeting with the entire staff about the guy and we all voted to give him a chance and man he rally shined for the company. He moved up faster than most and ended getting his own store to run. This was back in the early 2000s, I don’t know what he’s up to now. But idk, I always think people that work hard deserve to be compensated. But I agree with you, large companies never want you to grow in the company. They always want you to get comfortable.

      It is unskilled labour but the problem with workers today is that their brains have been ruined with television, computers and video games and they sit still for more then 5 minutes without needing their phones.

      100% when I worked at cracker barrel breakfast on Sundays our positions were based off the speed of the individual and made it kind of a game on their speed rankings so if someone was on either grill they had the speed vote. One guy refused to give up grill unless he was on vacation cause there was no way two people were faster than him lol

      Worked my way through college cooking seafood for a small grocery store. I was part time, but I was a one man wrecking crew...lol they knew to just step aside and give me the back room to let me do my thing. Never know how much you enjoyed doing something like that untill you dont have to anymore...lol. I cared about what I did, and felt important. Wished the job paid more though, because I made that department a shht ton of money and sales increased dramatically when they had someone who cared about the quality.

    I worked in kitchens for 16 years. My dad was a chef. This man is KILLING it. That's how you run a line by yourself folks. If anyone deserves tips at places like this I know for sure the cooks do. The sad part is most cooks can barely scrape by with what kitchen jobs pay yet the amount of work you have to do is unreal. And it's underappreciated work

      That's cool. My dad was also a chef he went to a very prestigious cooking school, I spent many years cooking breakfast, and I have about 35 years experience cooking. I never went to school so I don't call myself a chef.

    I was a Line cook for 13 years. The most thankless,stressful and hardest job I’ve ever had. I did take those skills and now use them running my own plumbing company. I can now say I’ve worked both ends of the business 😊

White collar asshats making. 80-120k a year paying massive debt look down on tradesmen making the same or more without the debt.

      @@Chawkes4204-7 years of being a plumber making 50-70k then become a master plumber with a median annual earnings of around 88000. If you run the business one truck generates an average of 300k a year revenue with 35-50% profit. So if he has one truck he would on average make 105k-150k per year. Add that on for every additional truck he runs. If he has 5 trucks he’s likely pulling in 525k-750k profit every year.

    What many people do not know is there is a very intricate "code" he uses to tell him what to cook. The placement/flavor of the jelly packets and other items on the plate tells him everything the order has. A very skilled cook.

    I've been working for 35 years in the restaurant business. This man is seriously skilled, no joke. He knows what he needs to do and exactly how long it takes by feel. He has an internal clock. It's like he's been in the weeds so many times with other people that he's like, "Get outta my way. I'll do it myself."

      Absolutely. It's clear this man has been producing this menu for awhile now. The station is setup in such a way to maximize efficiency and ease of access. The ability to be quick like this is something learned over a fairly short period of time (assuming your passionate).
      A man like this can go anywhere and be quickly taught any menu and again, with time, he'll be right back at full speed.

    Short order cooks get the utmost respect from all ranges of cooks especially those that run the weekend brunch hours at the amazing mom and pop local diners. The volume they push in a 5-6 hour service window is insane. Not many regular sit down restaurants ever deal with the kind of volume that popular diners do during breakfast+brunch hours especially on weekends and holidays.

Seems like chaos but he's got everything under control. Takes practice and a special person. Also have to somewhat enjoy preparing food for others. Waffle house is indeed a pretty magical place

    I just love how he takes such pride in what he does. You can see that in the presentation. To go up and down that food line making sure every food item isn’t burned while remembering what each person asked for, to present the food in a way that’s decent and not thrown together to leaving your food prep area clean, hats off to the brother. Hope his gift takes him far. When you care about what you do, it shows.

    At age 71 I am just learning how to cook on a griddle for church breakfast gatherings. It is hard work and takes all imagination, perfectionism, and determination possible to make the food consistently good. This guy is GREAT.

    Respect, I know what that feels like. Adding that many plates, cook times, which item goes to what plate and the longer this goes on it just gets harder as things all start finishing real quick. Easy to miss one thing and it over cooks or gets plated incorrectly. I was waiting until the second half of this video and you did not disappoint! I would have walked into work on any day, seen you there and be like yo we got this easy. 🔥

      Y'all some idiots you eat his food you're going to get sick if you notice that he doesn't even changes gloves when cracking eggs then he starts touching everything that is cooking with it's called cross contaminating and then he's touching all the plates and utensils and everything else he's going to get somebody sick

    I use to go to WH just to watch my friend cook. Every order is called out and it was like watching a beautifully choreographed ballet watching him. I marvel at how people can do that!

    Bro, my respect to the cook. I worked at a fast food restaurant years ago, gotta tell you, the cook has coordinations, he knows where everything is, and it's almost as he stopped time and zoned out.
