Pork chop dinner, hashbrowns scattered smothered, covered , chucked, peppered, slapped around , upside down( dad jokes, roll my eyes) After daddy passed in 94 I never went there again. Tasting the delicious, waffle house coffee blend was like a momentary gut punch of forgotten fewlings and associations but I am so happy to be on the other side of the counter now , helping make memories for other families.
It was in 1976 when I first had hashbrowns scattered and smothered. I was raised in Atlanta, and this was at a WH near my aunts (Clairmont and I-85, the store was torn down decades ago, and rebuilt across the interstate). The waitress knew us, and knew of my love for onions. She told me that some of the truckers that came in asked for their hashbrowns to be scattered (instead of in the ring) with onions grilled with them, and wanted to know if I would like to try them. I never had regular hashbrowns again.
I had clients across Atlanta during the 90s and when attending to business over there, I would stay in a hotel near Chamblee that was next to a Waffle House. Instead of offering a breakfast in the hotel, they provided a $10 voucher for Waffle House. After breakfast, I could drive to the nearby Marta station that had a huge parking lot and then take the train into Buckhead, downtown, Dunwoody or wherever I needed to go. I also became familiar to a couple of the waitresses.
They do have great hashbrowns. To this day, Waffle House chili with onions is the only diner chili I'll order, because it's substantial, tasty, and not watery.
I went to waffle house one time and the Cook was so impressive! His entire restaurant was full and had to go orders, but he was getting that sh&t done. Yes, it took a little longer… But he was doing it. Some customer had the nerve to complain about the time it was taking. I tore that dude a new one and left a big tip for the staff. Rude people piss me off.
"I tore him a new one" There is always one, right? Us regulars gotta put the scrubs in their place when things get a little crazy. It's WAFFLE HOUSE, not the house restaurant at the Ritz Carlton
Every once in a while you will see a good one. Especially at the busier stores. I worked at one in Jax,FL off of 95 and Baymeadows for a while. I had the time of my life at that job. I worked 2nd and 3rd. I had people passing several other WH stores just to come to mine. I took alot of pride in what I did and used to cook everything to perfection and made my presentation just like on the menu. We didn't do the silly condiment packet thing we had the orders called to us but I always just lined the tickets up because I've cooked alot of places and it just made more sense. 3rd shift was the best. Not gonna lie all the dealers came in and usually tipped me with bud or coke. Also there was always some crazy entertainment on 3rd, usually fights or just people drunk or drugged out of their mind.
as a truck driver i once was negotiating roads during an ice storm. i had to park and found a safe place in a Walmart parking lot . on the edge of the lot was a waffle house . other drivers pulled into the parking lot after i did and we all filled out the restaurant
I’m a over the road truck driver I’ve been to several waffle houses several states the women or guys just call out the orders to the cooks I’ve never seen them just place a plate in silence and earlier you said they make ribs I’ve never been on Waffle House that has ribs
I've been pretty impressed with waffle house . Couple weeks ago some guy had been on an hour long tirade ,cussing and yelling about something of which none understood and finally the staff told him he could quiet down or leave. He left but came back in acting like he was going to attack one of the waitresses but one of the regular customers sent him back out the door at gun point . You don't mess with the waitresses lol
Waffle house and their employees are the best ever. My nephew is 6ft 7in and said he tried to make himself look small so he slid down as far as he could in his booth. Its funny now but was a scary experience. He still eats there.
Was in a WH two thugs came in to rob the place cash box wouldn't open , they got pissed shot a couple of holes in the door jam and left.....No one left kept right on eating and drinking coffee...................
I've been with waffle house just shy of 10 years. I was fortunate to have been at 1 location since it opened. I cooked the first meal there. Now I am the night manager and have quite a following of customers. I love this job and this company. One year one of my servers working with me on new years eve got a call that her house had caught fire. Destroyed the bed room and kitchen. She finished her shift. The next day our division manager handed her an envelope with a thousand dollars in it. He lied and said he took a collection but we know it came from his pocket. Again, a great company.
I was the maintenance man for several WH franchisees in the southwest for almost 20 years! Definitely saw some interesting things! One of my restaurants was a favorite hangout for Mike Tyson and featured in the movie “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” There were definitely good and bad times but all in all the adventures made it worth it 🤪
The woman featured in the brown Waffle House cap appears at 3:48 and throughout to be a woman named Julia. She appeared on the 3rd Season of Hell's Kitchen the FOX TV by Chef Gordon Ramsay.
I went to a Waffle House in Biloxi, MS 15 years ago. The cook was the most impressive worker I have ever seen. He somehow could take non-stop orders while cooking and not write anything down. It was amazing!
Two guys in a pickup truck tried to rob me and take my dog at the Waffle House in Biloxi,MS, in the parking lot. Hwy 90. Good chow though and always busy.
@@2bullcrap - Wait, did they get your dog? What happened? Did you run them off? You can't just say "tried to rob me and take my dog" and not explain what happened 😆
@Peter smith - How does some one fail at a mugging? Did he pull a firearm? Did he physically push then away? Beat them up? Cops show up unexpectedly? So many unanswered questions 🤔
The cook doesn't need to remember every order called cause of the shorthand system where everything is signaled on the plate. The Call Drop Mark system is seriously effective. When I was a server there, every little thing was accounted for. Guy wanted eggs scrambled very light with cheese and onion? There's a mark for that. Want your waffle burnt to hell with pecans? There's a mark for that too. Really special orders that they need to ask us about personally? There's a mark for that too.
We were visiting Great Smokey Mountains National Park this past June and we ended up staying until past 10 pm...by which time every restaurant in the area was closed except for the two Waffle Houses. I took my family to the Waffle House in Pigeon Forge TN and it was a hoot. My wife had the Pecan Waffle. My kid had the patty melt but when they saw i went with the fried eggs, bacon and covered, chunked scattered hash browns they all helped themselves to my plate. Ordered some grits and sausage gravy to offset the rest of my dinner/breakfast comfortably sitting in my family's belly. The staff was short (one of the waitresses quit) and it was busy but all were locals and we had a great time there. Too bad no Waffle House in Wisconsin (we have our local version called George Webbs so we are not that bad off) but it was a grand old time! Love the Waffle House!
Rudolph Dobbs of Mableton ga was the electrician that wired the first waffle house after hooking the sign up he asked Joe if he had any coffee, Joe replied I just made the first pot. Rudolph Dobbs drank the first cup of WH coffee. It was a great honor to know Rudolph Dobbs.
I have eaten there only once. I knew a dude that was a cook there. I came in there at 4 a.m. in the morning. I was heavily in my addiction then. He made me a nice breakfast and didn’t charge me anything. I often wonder what happened to him. This was when I lived in Atlanta. He had showed me the cook’s training book. I was like, “Damn, that’s a lot to follow”! Oh, well! Peace.

We no longer get checks in cash anymore 😢 I use to love this feature. I have been working for WH since 2010. I am what they call a rockstar I am a grill op and a server. I love my job and yes I have all my teeth 😂
@Melissa Baker You go girl! It's people like you that make Waffle House great. I'm a long time customer and cheerleader of WH. Yeah, I snicker at the jokes and stereotypes, but I know better. I really want to host an event big enough to call in a WH food truck!
I think it was in 93 we had the big blizzard in Georgia and it was a terrible mess ,people stranded on I75 for days. Waffle house was open 24/7 right through it ,they cooked until the food ran out then served coffee which never ran out. That left a lasting impression on me
It was the only restaurant open during the early days of the pandemic in Atlanta. truly a comfort to have a place to get a warm meal and see other people.
Was driving a school bus from Ohio to Colorado in the 1980s. Pulled off I-70 in Illinois to find a farm road to sleep. Woke up the next morning on a road in a cornfield. It was cloudy, wasn't really sure where I was and which way was north. Started moving forward (I always parked towards the direction I needed to go) and lo, there was a Waffle House sign showing itself over the cornfields. Now I knew where I-70 was.
🤠yep_ you can watch the flies, roaches and human hair just drop into your food while being prepared...not to mention the human spittal sailing though the air of the cramped closet size chain restaurants 🤢🤮
Been going to waffle house since 1978. My favorite restaurant. Best omelet ever. The only 24 hour restaurant open in Columbia the capital of South Carolina.
I worked there for a year or two when I was in high school, in fact I graduated early so I could work more hours at Waffle House. Watching this video brought up some interesting memories
Love that when you go to Waffle House and it's busy, don't even care how long it takes for them to take your order or to deliver the food. I just like to watch them making everything from scratch and without computers - it's all by voice call outs from the wait-ers/esses.
What do you mean "a patty melt with cheese"? A Patty melt automatically comes with cheese, hence the word "MELT". I've been a cook for 25 years and never has anyone ordered a patty melt with cheese. If you made it without cheese, then it would not be a melt at all.
For Ian we evacuated from Marco Island to a hotel further inland with a Waffle House across the street. I was so looking forward to it but they closed an hour before we got there.
Never ate at one. Not because I avoided them, but just because I wasn't in the right hunger at the right time when I've encountered one. Food looks awesome tho! Maybe have to make an effort to get some of those good looking hash browns....
When I drove over the road for 30 years Waffle House was my favorite. Sadly here in Milwaukee where isn’t one Waffle House. How about a waffle house corporate office open up a Waffle House here in Milwaukee.
After seeing the NAACP bull****, I'm definitely going out for some Waffle House in a show of solidarity. Ten cases in 40 years?? That means they are not racist.
Don't forget Alice's Ice Tea. (Who is Alice?) Maybe they had that during the commercial. You should know that I was 17 years old before I learned that "damn" and "grits" were two separate words. I wonder how Anthony Bourdain could eat at Waffle House since they don't serve alcohol. But you can't beat the "All-Star" breakfast for value and volume. I will say that violence (especially robberies) is not a problem at my local Waffle House: drunks don't come in and at any time 30% or more of the customers are armed. And I have NEVER witnessed any racism at my local Waffle House. (That's more than I can say about anti-police Huddle House ... but that's another story.)
Didn't think guns were allowed inside their restaurants, however I am glad some carry in spite of the rules. At least at the ones I've eaten at I've seen a no firearms sign.
If there are spurious complaints of racism at a SMALL FRACTION of stores, and generally the same ones, I would suspect intentional setups to hurt a fine company in order to build cases for lawyers to make money. "Racism" is the current popular accusation to throw at anyone and most accusers EXPECT the falsely accused to acquiesce. May God Almighty Richly Bless those who don't acquiesce.
For those who are convinced the franchise is racist, there's a Waffle House on US 27 north of I-4 near Davenport, Florida with an almost entirely Afro-American staff. In fact, most of my time there I was the only white person there, and I didn't care. And neither should you.
Seems to me if you go into a Waffle House at 3am , drunk and acting the fool, you’re likely to get thrown out and have the police called. Sounds completely reasonable to me!
Yes, I do part time security, 🚔 at a Orlando FL WH 🧇. 90% of the time it's filthy, poorly run. Not until mid Sept 2022 did the Waffle House have full staffs: 5 employees. 75% the WH had only 2 staff. No one wanted to work.
My wife and I have fond memories of Waffle House. Our occasional date night would be to catch a concert and then go to Waffle House to enjoy our guilty pleasure of greasy pork products, with eggs and hash browns often supplemented with some nice, unhealthy topping(s). Then we would return home to groan about our full stomachs and the ringing in our ears. Then we just might sleep until noon the next day. 😎
My first job was the day after Hurricane Hugo hit Summerville, SC. I was hired as a third-shift cook while my mom was a server. My mom retired recently from Waffle House, I swear managers all over the east coast know who she is. lol
I pass the original Waffle House several times a week. It is located in Avondale Estates, Georgia. These days it is supposedly a museum, but I have yet to see a car out front. My personal feeling is that someone ought to refurbish this original Waffle House. Think of the crowds it would attract ! Carol, from metro Atlanta. 10-13-22.
As an engineering student in college 30 years ago we frequented our local WF. If you played the cook’s favorite song “Please Come Home for Christmas” by The Eagles you received free hash browns. Good times.
I enjoyed many great chow hall experiences at Catoosa, and west Tulsa. If you are hungry, best place to go day or night, perfect for working people, get a recharge.
I have so many great memories from this restaurant. Christmas eve drunk with my brother in law and no where else is open, waffle house , 2015 police officers woke me and my roommate up at 3 am because the guy across street was going crazy and they wanted to evacuate nearby neighbors. Waffle house, my city got hit with a bad ice storm and all the roads were undrivable, walk to good ol waffle house lol.... But I always conceal carry when I go just in case
You can find Waffle House locations as far north as Toledo OH (at least three stores there that I know of). Several in northern Indiana as well, so I make it a point to stop by whenever I visit my daughter near Muncie. Now, if only they would cross into Michigan...
Yes, Waffle House is awesome. Whether it be in the AM for breakfast, evening for lunch or you're drunk leaving the club & need something to absorb the alcohol up. & also yes, if you're planning on becoming a Waffle House employee & working the overnight shift knowing how to fight is a requirement🤷🏾♂️
Joe and Joe Rogers, two very caring people. I did 14 years at Waffle House and loved it. Made many friends and the locals were the best people. Made some good money!
I worked for years in Florida right outside Disney world and we never had problems with people fighting but mostly I really wish they would come out west they would so loved here in Vegas
When I lived in Phx. I ate at the W.H. on Bell Rd. & I-17. Always had the same thing cheese and onion omelet plate scattered smothered and covered and a side of sausages and the milk was ICE COLD 🧊 just the way I like it. 😋🤗😊. HOPEFULLY one will open in Minneapolis St. Paul or somewhere in Minnesota. 👍👍👍👍👍👍. How about? Have a great day everyone.
Waffle House is one of those businesses that just cant go out of business. we as americans would be failures if we allowed waffle house to close for good.
Sometimes as a truck driver you have no other place to go than Waffle House. My wife and I cel😢our seventh wedding anniversary at a WH. But overall it is my favorite place for breakfast and they have the best coffee on the interstate.
We went to Cherokee before the pandemic, So very Greatful to Waffle House. We ate there at various times. They were Always open. Not like the rest of the area. Which closed up like a ghost town around 5pm everyday. It sure was a different atmosphere there. But, as soon as we stepped inside the Waffle House, it was like going home to Grandma's.😍❤❤
I did some volunteer work in Bay St Louis right after Katrina. Place was flattened, but WH and Sonic were open. I've always felt a bit of gratitude for that. The 'always open rain or shine' thing really is more than just a marketing gimmick.
Fact: You can actually navigate by using Waffle Houses as waypoints. For example: “Go down three Waffle Houses then make a left, go two Waffle Houses then turn right. Go past the fourth Waffle House and your destination is on your right - just don’t pass the fifth Waffle House.”
My ex used to do business with the Ritz Carlton hotels. At their main office, they served coffee in Waffle House mugs. The man that made a fortune owning WH bought a Ritz Carlton & turned the RC chain into big profits too. Whenever RC's bottom line, financially speaking, is doing poorly, RC is bailed out by WH.
WH has many restaurants and has for years. Racism I deplore. But in many cases it's our legal pals cashing in which benefits no one but themselves - it is an industry.
When I was in high school, I was on a school trip to Florida from Wisconsin, and we stopped at a Waffle House in Tennessee. One of the girls on the trip got her meal for free because her last name was Waffle.
I grew to love Waffle House while living in the Baton Rouge area. I spent many mornings after a night shift, eating breakfast at the Waffle House! Best fluffy omelettes around!
Part of the allure is the hands on approach to doing business. There's no computers sitting around for the servers to use so that cooks have to watch for tickets to come in then decipher the "code" in small typeface. I can appreciate the plate layout system but it's not for me personally. Total Table Service instead of little "ordering" stations on each table.... Very low tech....no timers for food...the cooks actually know how long to cook a thing. Unlike McDonalds where a buzzer tells a set of hands when to lift the fries. No "sitting" food...like McDonalds has food sitting in a slider window during busy times. There's the burger...then all the stuff to put on it instead of ordering a set burger and having to say "NO" this or that. I worked at a Huddle House which is very similar in structure. Loved it.
I have NEVER had my order correct at ANY waffle house I've ever been to....never once have I complained, because delicious, even incorrect, is still delicious! Wish we had a store or two nearby....
I have a Waffle House about two miles from my condo that was hit hard during the pandemic. Government unemployment benefits were so high it couldn’t keep help and on some days offered carry out only and had limited hours. It slowly recovered and is now back to normal, but it definitely hurt their business. To this day, they have notices on their menus that food or staff shortages could still be a thing.
I eat at waffle House when ever we travel love it. Best experence was in Murfreeboro Tn. 2 years driving in ice storm. Rode was closed it was midnite and the only thing open was a waffle house. Two young girls stayed there and worked one cooked the other took order and boxed up order. It was us a few other that were stranded and some police officers. They were a life saver that nite.
How come it wasn’t brought up about Waffle House selling the most t-bone steaks in the US while not even having them on the menu? I mean they sell over $10K a day, that in itself should have been mentioned.
WaHo pays their cooks VERY well. Especially if you're willing to work during natural disasters. During hurricane Florence they paid us an extra $100 per shift on top of our hourly rate.
Awful waffle! My aunt worked for them for 17 years at the same location they fired her! The people that frequent this establishment do not tip and only an idiot would consider the $2.25 an hour wage
I have always lived in big cities with No Waffle House near me. I moved to Indianapolis IN and went to a waffle house for my first time because my 70 year old neighbor works as a waitress! I loved it! I went during the day and I don't eat meat but was able to get a great breakfast! PS. I have 2 college degrees and have no idea how the servers or chefs do the verbal orders🤣🤣🤣❤️
Hi! Im a WH server in VA. In my training I was told that observing the weird lingo and the way the grill ops just know what it all means and whip out the food, The open floor plan,, watching your food being made,, it's all part of the WH experience. Dinner and a show .lol
My dad was a truck driver throughout the 70s, 80s, 90s. Waffle House was a second home. Though lately I notice the portion sizes at most of the ones I’ve been to in the last few years has gotten pretty small compared to what they were. Maybe I’m just stopping at the wrong ones.
So basically you’ll have to have a higher iq than the management team to understand and remember all the placings and meaning of the condiments on the table😂
Pretty much.. And constantly have to remember menu prices cause as soon as you get used to one set of prices they change it up on you lol.. The waffle House I worked at also didn't have the servers mark the plates.. When we called out the order we would call "mark (insert order here)" so the cooks would mark the plates instead of the servers.. Especially when it was busy
I used to work for Terminix in Ocala, FL and serviced bunch of WH in Ocala, Gainesville and surrounding areas and these places are the worst when it comes to being clean and having huge issues with pests.
All chain restaurants have their rough areas and their good areas. I visited Tucson a while back. There was a WH right next to the Holiday Inn Express I was staying at. It was one of the cleanest and most well-run chain restaurants I’ve ever seen with outstanding, long term employees. I was in chain restaurant operations for 25 years and know excellence when I see it. I ended up eating at least one meal there every day and by my second visit, I was recognized by name by their cook. For a restaurant that is open 24/7, their level of cleanliness and sanitation was exceptional.
I live in an expensive foodie paradise on the west coast, but I still miss stumbling across a Waffle House restaurant in my travels when I was working. Yum!!!
It is the best 💩show restaurant. It’s like a dinner and a show. Not just the customers but also the employees. One time I had to cook my own food cause the cook walked out and the server was passed out in a booth. I would hate to have a smooth experience when I go. Love Waffle House
My mom works at waffle house. Shes been there since 1999. And i wanna be just like her and keep working at McDonald's aslong as her so i can take care of her now. Longevity is the 🔑
In the 1996 movie, "Tin Cup" with Kevin Costner and Rene Russo and Cheech Marin and Don Johnson, Waffle House was a very important part of the script...especially the one in Odessa, Texas. They all ate there and had a big discussion about it before the yearly U.S. Open golf tournament.

I first ate at Waffle House. With my dad at night. On our way home from a gun show. And it was some of the best breakfast.I’ve ever had!
My nephew was at a waffle house at 2am and it got robbed. The employees stayed cool and no one was hurt. Best ever!!
Best ever that i got robbed?
Waffle house and their employees are the best ever. My nephew is 6ft 7in and said he tried to make himself look small so he slid down as far as he could in his booth. Its funny now but was a scary experience. He still eats there.
Waffle House down my street, a gentleman was shot to death in the middle of the night during a robbery.
Was in a WH two thugs came in to rob the place cash box wouldn't open , they got pissed shot a couple of holes in the door jam and left.....No one left kept right on eating and drinking coffee...................
I'm sure they are use to it. Goes with the territory
I work for WH and I LOVE MY JOB! They are good to their people!!!

I see a book in your future.
@@hello-3051 Right😂😂😂😂, he left us on a cliffhanger 😂😂
The cook doesn't need to remember every order called cause of the shorthand system where everything is signaled on the plate. The Call Drop Mark system is seriously effective. When I was a server there, every little thing was accounted for. Guy wanted eggs scrambled very light with cheese and onion? There's a mark for that. Want your waffle burnt to hell with pecans? There's a mark for that too. Really special orders that they need to ask us about personally? There's a mark for that too.
Where do they find the staff? Everybody is really good! I never see a bad cook or an incompetent server! Unbelievable consistency.
Oh, well! Peace.
ur post is the best one
@@tycobb2580 - Thanks, I appreciate that. Ain’t you nice? I just thought that I would share a memory that happened to me back in 2005. I’ll never forget it. Peace to you!

That left a lasting impression on me
A lot of chain eateries come and go, and many that don't go really should. WH had always been 100% reliable, and that too is comforting.
Now I knew where I-70 was.
one note worthy thing and it's what sets Waffle House apart from other is you can see your food being cooked fresh. no heat lamps no precooked food.
🤠yep_ you can watch the flies, roaches and human hair just drop into your food while being prepared...not to mention the human spittal sailing though the air of the cramped closet size chain restaurants 🤢🤮

@@thelugoffgamecock792 Yes.
I worked there for a year or two when I was in high school, in fact I graduated early so I could work more hours at Waffle House. Watching this video brought up some interesting memories
Your footage of the Migos is literally juice world
Love that when you go to Waffle House and it's busy, don't even care how long it takes for them to take your order or to deliver the food. I just like to watch them making everything from scratch and without computers - it's all by voice call outs from the wait-ers/esses.
That's because you know excellent food is waiting to be cooked.
Pro tip: if you frequently go to the same waffle house and tip well everytime. Waitresses will literally fight to serve you when you come in.
What do you mean "a patty melt with cheese"? A Patty melt automatically comes with cheese, hence the word "MELT". I've been a cook for 25 years and never has anyone ordered a patty melt with cheese. If you made it without cheese, then it would not be a melt at all.
welcome to the IQ Level of WH...
My youngest daughter's name was picked by a Waffle House waitress. We gave her options, she chose the best one.
I can confirm the accuracy of this documentary. In Fla, we do use the Waffle House as a marker for how bad a storm is.
For Ian we evacuated from Marco Island to a hotel further inland with a Waffle House across the street. I was so looking forward to it but they closed an hour before we got there.
@@wingracer1614 Nooooooooooooooo I hope yall were safe thought. Bummer about the WH.
Best hashbrowns on the planet. Love that place.

A lot of folks consider those signs to be just a decoration. @@ikonix360
They have the best coffee, always fresh!
No wonder Waffle House is constantly getting robbed lol! 😆😆 Blasting that it always carries cash!! 😆
Seems to me if you go into a Waffle House at 3am , drunk and acting the fool, you’re likely to get thrown out and have the police called. Sounds completely reasonable to me!
That's their main customer down here in the south! That's why I stopped going to WH. Too many drunks, acting fools, and no one does anything about it.
Also you MAY Receive a complimentary cheese egg pan to the head.
Quite the opposite
That's the only time I can choke down what they consider food
Here in Brunswick, Ga. They need to clean it up. I have not been in it for a few years because of not clean
the ringing in your ears was probably due to all the carcinogenic MSG in ALL the foodstuffs. Good luck with your colons at very least.
My first job was the day after Hurricane Hugo hit Summerville, SC. I was hired as a third-shift cook while my mom was a server. My mom retired recently from Waffle House, I swear managers all over the east coast know who she is. lol
Love the Hash Browns and Coffee!!!
We need a Waffle House in Palm Beach County FL!!!
Actually the cooks mark the plates. They call the meat pull, the hashbrown drop and the plate mark to us
Won't find them beyond the South? we have over 25 here in Ohio and even more across the bridge in Kentucky. More than 20 in Indiana as well.
We have plenty here in Missouri, including a few in St. Louis. We're not the South, neither is Colorado that has ten.
You can find Waffle House locations as far north as Toledo OH (at least three stores there that I know of). Several in northern Indiana as well, so I make it a point to stop by whenever I visit my daughter near Muncie. Now, if only they would cross into Michigan...
There's a Waffle House in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on US 30
I'll drive past three IHOP's to get to one Waffle House!
Same here-Waffle House has much better prices and better customer service. I really don't care for IHOP-even Denny's is better.
WH is always top notch. I even helped a cousin and her husband find a Waffle House while they were in North Carolina. They were from Michigan.

I live in the west coast and a pilgrimage to waffle house is a must when I visit Maryland, Pennsylvania and Florida.
yeah......closest one to me is in Phoenix, Arizona. : (
My ex used to do business with the Ritz Carlton hotels. At their main office, they served coffee in Waffle House mugs. The man that made a fortune owning WH bought a Ritz Carlton & turned the RC chain into big profits too. Whenever RC's bottom line, financially speaking, is doing poorly, RC is bailed out by WH.
Years ago we used to hit Waffle House after the bar closed. The juke box wasn't bad. I can remember dancing with our waitress. Fun times.
WH has many restaurants and has for years. Racism I deplore. But in many cases it's our legal pals cashing in which benefits no one but themselves - it is an industry.
The most important part of the start of one's day WAFFLE HOUSE!
When the narrator mentioned Tony Bourdain, that got my full attention! Waffle House legit received their dues when Tony gave them cred
Grew up on Waffle House and it's still my go to for comfort food . I've seen my share of fights in the wee hours of the morning too hahaha
All I need to know is they are open 24 7 and the coffee is great at 3 in the morning.

They do not use this system. Employee turnover is extreme! Everyone would be lost.
