I remember, either in 1982 or 1983, there were like 3 double showcase winners in 5 shows or something, and Bob was like "if we keep having double showcase winners, we're going to have to take out a loan!" haha.
I love the constant Whoops and Clangs during the end. I also love in the old days when they show the flashing score readout.

This was one of the rare Bob Barker TPIR shows in which a contestant wins both showcases & they keep sounding off the CLANGS & WHOOPS until even after the credits roll by & the screen fades to black!! They don,t do that anymore in Drew Carey,s era.
The greenhouses is "baseball proof" lol. Only in 1970-something would that be such a selling point.

The Gibson appliances seemed to have behaved properly around Janice, but misbehave around Holly and I do not understand why.

I once injured my right hand because I was beat up by a drunk but I defended myself & broke his nose & he went to jail & I am right handed
I couldn’t work for a month and I was in a lot of pain, so what do I do every day? I watch the prices right now because I couldn’t sleep in the morning. I was mad when I went back to work I loved watching the price is right

Back then when a contestant won both showcases, they always played the clangs and whoops all the way to the end of the credits (sometimes they would end slightly earlier). I'm pretty sure this practice ended around the time Bob Barker started telling people to help control the pet population.

They look so impressed with their showcases. The prizes look like left overs from failed other showcases. There was only a smile for the truck. She may have won both showcases but she wanted none of it - She couldn't even drive.

Do you know those Bob Barker's beauties sued him for an alleged sexual harassment?
Have there ever been two showcase contestants who came within $100/$250? If so, what happened? Both won both showcases? Sounds like No. "If you are the winner (i.e. closest to the actual retail price without going over) and are within..." That would mean that the other contestant would just get those "exciting" parting gifts in addition to whatever they won earlier. Is that right?
There was an instance of two contestants coming within under $100 back in 1974: one was off by $30 and the other was off by $29.
You have to first be the winner of your own showcase before you become eligible to win the other showcase.
I think if there is a perfect tie where both are within the same amount of their own showcase, then both would win, but I don't think that has ever happened because contestants normally round off their guess.
That’s never happened on the TPIR. The closest difference of the showcases was $1 in 1974.

And today that would be $66,400 in prizes and the taxes you have to pay on them.
