My grandfather passed away about 15 years ago. When cleaning out the house I found a receipt for $400 for a VCR and another $300 on a repair for it. He never watched TV. I know someone who was on the Price is Right. They look for people before the show starts. There is no picking a name out randomly. He got on stage by picking the right price for the watch. He did not win any prizes on stage. If you are enthusiastic and say you are so excited to be on the show and all the wonderful things they want to hear. They will choose you. They want high energy. It's all a process not random.
My brother-in-law was on this show. His mother’s lifetime dream was to be on TPIR. She’d go to L.A. every year to try to get picked. My sister and BIL went with her one year to keep her company in line. They came for two days. The first day they were interviewed and weren’t picked. That night we figured out the BIL would be the one most likely picked. So we created this whole persona for him that we felt would make him stand out. And since we knew the questions they’d ask, we coached him on his answers and how to react in a way that we felt would get him picked. And it worked. He got picked. The major flaw in our plan was that he was unfamiliar with the show so had no idea how to play strategically. To the point that he didn’t even know you could turn around and ask your family for help. He never made it off of contestants row. And he was one of the first four picked. Bob Barker was openly mocking him by the end of the game.
@@yvettemonroe5833 Oh WoW, so you were in the audience and saw the show. That is still very exciting. He said, when they ask you questions they also try to see how excited you are or your reaction as it is good for tv for a energetic person.
