This has to be the top 3 two closest bids. I know in the 70s one showcase had one woman who won both showcases with $29 dollars the other woman who lost was only off by $30!
Bob Barker looks sharp with that black jacket and shirt and white tie. If he only had on black pants, then the outfit would have been classy as heck! Botany 500 makes great suits.
That flashing white was supposed to be the "Double Showcase Winner" tag, but a technical difficulty allowed a camera to zoom way too far into that tag.
I think they were trying to be like Sale of the Century which played the sirens until off air whenever a contestant won the lot; in a way, winning both showcases is TPiR's version of "winning the lot".
Reread your comment and you probably meant the closest TWO bids with only a dollar difference. If so, sorry for the misunderstanding. I first read it as the closest bid to the actual price to win both showcases. Either way, the show and article I am talking about are worth the trouble to find. Drew was pissed! It sucked for the winner because Drew has a great laugh when he is excited...
Roy & Charlene both made excellent bids .. & one , won both Showcases !! Whoop 🚨 Whoop 🚨 🔔 🔔 👏 👏
At the end of the April 27, 1983, episode of THE PRICE IS RIGHT 👉🏻, of course, David.

Yup here is proof ua-cam.com/video/N8G4RpbWsV0/v-deo.html
Yeah, how many other times were both contestants in DSW range? I mean just a DSW in of itself is a fairly rare bird...
At this stage, you had to be less than $100 away, so the guy wasn't in Dble showcase range. But still a good bid

Love these skits.A diamond ring ,TV/Radio in the rubbish.Love that Pontiac. Beats those sub compact beater boxes they usually give away on the show...
Yes, when is the last time you saw a Chevette on the road? At least 30 years ago that I can recollect.
Poor guy was only 185 away and lost
They found more then 🎲 🎲 they uncovered .. A New Car 🚗 !!

Wow! That was an exiting show, both were so close! I really like the blinking and Klaxon Alarm sounds!
That's a nice bed
$82 off but still a double showcase win! Notice the graphic wasn't working initially (still used mechanical wording at the time)
Epilepsy warning here due to some glitchy graphics.

Jesus I can't help to notice how gorgeous Holly was in these
I can't imagine the pressure to guess the pricing of each showcase.
it's $82 dollars, not $48
Also did you guys notice the double showcase winner graphic glitch
What was the airdate of this episode?
April 27, 1983, Silvia.

That's so brutal for Roy!
Great job
Is that Susan Banks from Days of Our Lives?
Mean, mean, mean...
What a great Showcase round! Both would be in the DSW range nowadays.
Dian Parkinson She Was Beautiful Dress Alongside Janice Pennington By The Way Beautiful Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 80s And Early 90s Modern Muscle Car

@@jefferyrobertson7520 You’re welcome ☺️.
Very nicely put together video and very entertaining as well. Thanks for posting this.
Burt Reynolds would be proud
He and David Hasslehoff from the TV Action/Adventure Show KNIGHT RIDER
Watch this closely. This is why barker is better than anyone else hosting the price is right.
$82.00?!!!!!!!!!!! Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I watched an episode of Knight Rider last night that featured one of those little tvs.

This was awesome
Both excellent bids
She was $82 off not 48 but still an excellent bid.
Who cares the thing is thatcshe won both and .
Boy, did those clangs and whoops go on forever in this DSW! Seemed like 1983 DSW's were the norm to let it go on until the end of the show...
I wish they'd go longer nowadays.
I think they were trying to be like Sale of the Century which played the sirens until off air whenever a contestant won the lot; in a way, winning both showcases is TPiR's version of "winning the lot".
The closest was 1975 when one had a difference of $30 and the other had a $29 difference.

How much would that Trans Am be worth today in mint condition?
about 20,000 if it was really just like new
@@bobbates7343Depends on how much work someone would be putting in.
But when Drew Carey hosted the show, one contestant got the showcase bid exactly right.
And they had also raised it to within $250 without going over.
Hmm.....putting Holly out in the trash which is what Bob ultimately did to her.
When did $48 become $82? This Common Core math really confuses me.
You ain't seen confusing until you discover the 60s New Math and all that Base 6 and Base 12 crap in its textbooks! :D
Seizure alert at 5:24.
I was just about to comment on that! Was the "Double Showcase Winner" graphic meant to be flashing instead?
@@acotbc Yeah. My guess is that the camera was zoomed into the chroma key graphic way too close.
SEIZURE ALERT!!!
Congratulations Charlene, now let's give some of our viewers at home a seizure
Is this Johnny Olson announcing? It's definitely not Rod!
I couldnt afford to be on the show...you have to pay taxes on the prizes and cash and trips.....
The 80s-era of this show was so weird.
Sucked to be Roy!
Sadly, they led Roy off to be sacrificed.
Oh, he didn't yet do the spayed and neutered thing yet.
