I love Double Showcase winners. It is always fun to see contestants win.
It's very exciting !
Of course, it is, Silvia.
@@davidellis5141 Yep 👍🏻!
Kudos to DeAnna for her reaction to Leslie winning both showcases. Legit looked excited for her. Maybe she had already won a car or something, or a bunch of cash at the big wheel.
Exactly my thought. What class and grace.
Was just coming to say the same exact thing!
She was more excited for her then Leslie was.
@@traumatrom837 Me too! Also she's very beautiful, and that kinda adds to it
@@greatPretender79And Leslie, her Smile, her Nose, her Nametag & her Clapping Hands have some sweet winning her Prizes together company!
No one did fanfare like Bob Barker. I'm still sad we never saw a million dollar winner while he was hosting. I remember the wheel stopped right before the dollar on one of the million dollar specials and it was so heartbreaking!
I’ve used that clip when I did #VoteForTheGirls
If there was bob would have collapsed of a heart attack
The RCA SelectaVision Video Disc player was a precursor of DVD Players, just as video discs were the forerunner of DVDs.
I had never heard of them and my mom was the manager of a video store in a small town, I think she started in either 85 or 86. They had a few beta tapes but vhs was more popular.
@@Lwah0812that was one of Sony’s few big mistakes - keeping exclusive use of the beta format. It’s a really interesting story.
@@jonelfilipek7848 my husband and I were talking about that. Those that had the beta machines really liked them.
@@jonelfilipek7848 Actually contrary to popular belief, Beta was not a mistake for Sony. Beta was more a commercial format from the get-go and was primarily used in broadcast and commercial industries. It was highly successful for Sony because of that. Just the consumer side was a flop due to their way of holding onto the rights, unlike JVC which basically gave the VHS format away. (The commercial version of VHS, known as "MII" was less successful than Beta.)
I've always enjoyed The Price is Right. Bob Barker was always a class act. I really liked seeing all the games and prizes contestants could win.also seeing the reactions of the winners was great.
Love the carpet. Great idea for flooring, won’t go out of style.
Leslie got the Ultimate Redemption winning a Double Showcase after her pricing game loss! Good Comeback

A Double Showcase Winner from the year I was born. Cool!
November 23, 1982, to be precise.
Congratulations
Thank You Very Much !!

@@davidellis5141👍🏻
It's strange they would try to give away the video disc player cause RCA stopped selling them in late 1984
It's 1982 rere
I can't remember ever seeing the first contestant bid on the first showcase. Usually they pass to see if there is a car (or boat) in the second one.
Nope, she straight up bid on that organ.
Also for these 2 Showcases, I would have guessed the following.
1st Showcase: $5,555
2nd Showcase: $10,000
2:22 a Video disc! Wow! 1982 at its finest.
Well Done!!!
Thank You Very Much !!

I’ve never heard of a video disc….
My Uncle had one. I don't think he could rent them but he had a small library of movies.
Awesome video
Yeah right
"I won! I won! Oh, wait, I have to take the stupid carpet and organ too? Forget it."
Yes, I have always wanted to learn to play with my organ.
Most of the time the loser seems genuinely happy to see the other person win!!
In this case the loser seems happier thnk the winner.
That bell! Did they go to Exchange Avenue and hock a railroad bell?

The Price is Right.
Air Date Tuesday November 23rd 1982.
Showcase Round Deanna vs Leslie.
Leslie 1st "DOUBLE SHOWCASE WINNER OF 11TH SEASON" off by $56 bucks.
She won a total of $16,764 sixteen thousand seven hundred sixty-four dollars!!
👍🏻
I have a Video Disc Players. Bought at a thrift store for $20 around 2005-2007. Pioneer CLD2730K. Missing the Balance and Echo Knobs. And 15 Video Disc Movies bought for $1 each.
The thing about these two showcases is that over time most of these items would not have held their value. The trip to Paris and the sailboat yes. But the sofa new would today probably cost half as much (and be as one-tent as good). The RCA disc player and organ can't even be given away now. Nobody gets carpet anymore. Leslie probably paid more on taxes than what any of the stuff was worth.

YAY Leslie!!!!
She Played ▶️ Good !!
Please leave us alone forever
@@MorganNye Sorry.
@@davidellis5141 Fantastic!!!
I would love to know the story behind the slow remodel of homebase. Why did the turntable get that new 🟢🟣🔴🟠 scheme before everything else? Maybe it was a test? Maybe it was damaged during the hiatus and they needed to replace the wall? Idk. Just curious. Also, was it plush? It always looked like it was soft. I wish they had never changed that part of the set through the end of Bob’s tenure. And does anyone remember the date or episode where the carpet changed from green to red? It stayed red (in what seemed to be) FOREVER!!! Until those last what three seasons for Bob when it was that pink purple and blue scheme with blue carpet.

You should really really consider not giving away the game result in the title. Makes it less fun to watch when we already know the ending.

The Popeye movie with Robin Williams? That was a terrible movie.
I don't know about anyone else, but Leslie's reaction to winning both showcases looks fake. Was she given the amount to bid on each showcase so that she would have won either way? Stranger things have been done on TV game shows for ratings and viewer excitement.
