@@customsimshop can you make this mod for the sequential plate that comes with the th8a so I can actually use it in sequential mode and not in h pattern with the sequential mod plate on not all games allow me to use this mod on console plus I'm using 2 th8a shifters one in h pattern that I use this mod with but some games I can not use the sequential mod plat as it only goes into 3rd and 4th gear because the game doesn't allow me to bind it properly and I use the other th8a shifter in its proper sequential mode using the plate it come with in the box now it would be nice if you could make the sequential plate mod for the actual sequential mode

@@customsimshop I'm currently putting it through the paces. Realized I bought the one for the logitech shifter and I'm on the wrong video....but so far I'm loving it. I saw a few ppl voicing concern about it being 3d printed, but this is sturdy as hell, and it looks great aesthetically. I'm banging away on it. I'm not gonna lie, I LOVE it so far.

@@soloacabrera2583 Still no issues thus far. I ended up getting the sequential shifter and the mod to add resistance to hpattern shift; changing between the two is so much faster than going the thrustmaster route lmao.
Mine arrived today and i love it! After spending the arvo using the H pattern, which tbh i bought it for, i was very happy with the shorter throw and found the shifter much nicer to use even without the H pattern mod. When i first tried the sequential i found the plate a little hard to put on, but after losening the 4 screws a little, reseating it and tightening the screws back up it fitted nice and snug, I also found the spring a bit stiff so i put a hard shock spring out of my 1/10 R/C drift chassis and it works awesome now. There is another level of tuning, those springs come in all different strengths, lengths and even come progressive, lol. Overall really happy with it!!
Thank you for the great feedback👊 Regarding the stifness of the Sequential shifter, did you add some lubricant like WD-40 between the slider and the gear lever? It does make a significant difference and makes the gear change much smoother.

I know there’s a button on the top of the shifter that telling it to be in “sequential” mode, when switching back and fourth if you leave the plate attached is it always pressed that button?

How does this mod compare to the sequential mode on the fanatec shifter?
How are peoples review of this? I got mine the other day, didn’t even fit had to drill the holes out and do some sanding on the sequential slot it was way to tight it would hold the shifter wherever you put it. Played with different shims on the spring and I feel like I am going to snap my shifter when using it in sequential like the little hills the bearings climb is too steep

I am a little unsure at this point because i'd buy a "quick release" system but end up having to screw it open anyway because of this other mod for H-Shifts. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
These were designed to work together, with the 'tactile feedback mod' adding that mechanical feel.
They would affect each other, if you like your 'H-pattern' stiff then your 'Sequential' will need more force to engage gears also.
We have been running these together for about a year and like our shifts to have a fair bit of force behind it.
There's a lot of force adjustement in the 'H-pat' and on the spring for the 'Sequential' so you should find the best feel for your liking.

Update: Woooow this shifter is sweet other than sending an additional super thin bushing with it, for people who are also going to run the h pattern tactile feedback mod it’s awesome. Dirt rally 2.0 is like a drug now!!
Is there an option for handbrake mode like your Logitech shifter mod? I would be sold if it had this option.
Unfortunately we haven't got one yet, but may consider making something for a handbrake.

I just ordered the TH8A and I'm looking exactly for this kind of mod. I have one question though.
I thought that in order to switch from the H-pattern to the sequential mode we had to rotate the TH8A 90 degrees and press a button to use the X axis. I don't see those steps here, did I miss something?
I'm asking this because I was wondering how this mod would work in combination with the TH8A shifter H-pattern improvement mod. From what I see, both mods will act on the Y axis, potentially making it too hard in sequential mode.

Yes, we have designed it to work together with our H-pattern improvement mod (which has a wide range of adjustability and still keeping the feel smooth and mechanical).

This works as a 'Quick release' so no rotating of the 'plate' is necessary. With the Th8a in stock form, you would have to unscrew 4x bolts that hold the plate on, then go to settings and change the mode to 'Sequential' in order to access this feature, but with this kit, you would only have to re-assign buttons.
And it does work on the same axis as the H-pattern improvement mod, as it also helps with the feel of the 'sequential mode' once adjusted to your preferred setting.
Sequentially operated transmissions in racecars, don't necessarily have a short or a light throw, which is why this mod was inspired, to provide a more 'accurate' replication of an actual shift, like V8 Supercars etc,.
But since these are all adjustable, there should be a setting for everyone.

So if I understand correctly, on PC games, if I want to use the TH8A in sequential mode, I'll have to go into the game's settings and assign [shiftUp] to [gear4button] and [shiftDown] to [gear3button]?
The last doubt I have is will I be able to remap the TH8A buttons in Gran Turismo Sport on PS4. I'll wait to receive my TH8A (next week I hope) and test this before ordering one or both of your mods depending on the results :)
@@zorkeel7683 Yes, that is how our product works. But since it's 'Quick release', it shouldn't take longer than 15 sec.
Regarding the assignment of buttons for some certain games on PS and Xbox, we unfortunately haven't been able to check that yet and would be interested to find out.

@@customsimshop Ok, I received my TH8A, I've tested it in Gran Turismo Sport on PS4 and as promised, here's the feedback:
- the TH8A is not visible in the game's options, neither in the PS4 system's options, hence it's impossible to remap it's buttons.
- in H-pattern mode, the buttons 1 to 7 and Reverse are mapped to their corresponding gear, and you'll be unable to switch to 8th gear (luckily 8 gears cars are rare).
- in sequential mode, [shiftUp] corresponds to the [wheelRightPaddle]'s action, and [shiftDown] to the [wheelLeftPaddle]'s action, meaning the paddles are duplicates and wasted actions in sequential mode. (I can't tell you how disappointed I was when I found out...)
For the moment I'm more efficient in sequential mode (by far ^^) and I plan to stay in this configuration, meaning none of your 3 custom modes are for me :' (
Unless you plan to make a "real sequential" mod, I'll have to find another one :/

how do I change the stiffness of the shifts? please help, using all my strength when trying to gear up and its soo heavy so I have to unscrew the nob for it to not get "stuck" when pulling back
I also think it's very stiff, especially on the downshifts (pushing it away)

1:31 How is it possible that the resistance to shift in H-Shifter mode is so much higher / snappier compared to my stock model, if the only modification you've added is the plastic 'Quick Release' ring???
it's using the other TH8A mod they have on their website that gives it more resistance in addition to the mod for this video. Now to see if they'll actually ship it or not, hard to tell with how these comments are
This want work on xboxseries x because you have to rotate the plate clockwise this is only for PC isn't it? or do you rotate the base plate so the internal button sets up sequential gears because this discrimination shows 3 & 4 gears using sequential gearing
I was wondering the same thing as I’m on ps5. I’ve ordered and received it. So far every game I’ve tested works. Motorfest, dirt 5 and wrc 23! You can keep it in the H pattern and for sequential just remap to 3rd and 4th gear. I was afraid to order as I’m in Texas in the USA. The product is 100% as advertised. 10/10 product, def recommend to put that cherry on your sim setup. Thank you CSS!

This is exactly what I was guessing could happen, cuz the video doesn’t explain that part. But using this MOD the gear will be stock on 3rd & 4rd. How does this mod works without switching the actual plate to sequential mode?

I use 2 th8a shifters one in sequential mode as a handbrake sometimes and the other in h pattern to be able to do this you need a thrustmaster sim hub

This work looks great but a TH8A costs me 165 euros new on amazon Spain and 100 euros used, I already have one and would rather buy another than pay so much money for a modification...
How could this possibly work on PlayStation or Xbox?it makes no sense to think the game can read that it’s a sequential just by adding it on top of the shifter.

@@noobsimdriver I actually made an attempt to design my own version of the mod. I will say it worked very well. That being said, I found an eBay shifter for $60 that is better than anything I’ve ever had.
Can I use different knobs that I have? Or does have to be the knob it comes with cause of the spring?
You can theoretically use a different gearknob, if it still lets you make use of the 'quick release' mechanism. If the knob lenght is similar to ours, then the forces should remain similar.
but on PS4 is not good..no AC...no gt sport..no NASCAR... only PC????

Unfortunately we can't change the shipping prices set by the service providers. There is a minimum cost for shipping and will be the same cost for our 'Sequential shifter kit' with a 'wheel adapter'. These prices are weight based and will come with tracking.
The price is ridiculous, almost insulting really... I could have printed and bought all parts included for less then 30 dollars. But i can respect the grind in a capitalist world.

Don’t waste your money such poor quality. Just got mine today waste of 100$ on some cheap poorly printed 3D parts. The base is crooked so it doesn’t fit you have to flex in place and the Handel is so cheap a few hard shifts it will be in pieces.

That is a misunderstanding then, as the price is in AUD. The price of $129 AUD is about €79.
And this kit is more meant for people who have already got a TH8A/TH8RS shifter, so they don't have to go and buy a new shifter. And the comparison between the modded TH8A(with CSS mods) shifter, should be made after using both of them, as we have and find the TH8A to perform much better. This has been designed by comparing the forces and throw length in a few different sequentially operated transmissions (real life racecars) and been manufactured by providing the user the closest replication of a real racecar transmission and to fine tune the feel to their liking. This kit is also customisable, to match your shifter kit to your sim rig, racecar, motorbike etc,.
There are many 'Sequential shifters' out there, but not many are aimed at the replication of real life forces, that is needed to engage the gears.
