I have retouched photos on my MacBook using the edit function but when I drag them into my iMovie they revert to the original file. How did I bring the edited file into my project?
Whenever I open ‘Photos’ from iMovie, the sort order is oldest first. I have 28,000+ photos so it takes a while to load. Is there any way to change the default sort order to newest first?
Thank you for sharing, it was trying to add some pictures to my project but once I added it it already have this zoom in effect that I don’t wanted, you just answer my question how to disable it that, thanks once again
hi, thank you for your tutorial, i am hoping you can help me. i have dragged an image onto a section of my project and it is visable as i want it in my project and i can hear the audio but in the viewing box above right the screen is black when i play, do you know what is needed? thank you
If you're having trouble adding photos to your project, start a new project and you should be able to add them. If you don't see your photos from the import screen, they might be in your Relocated Items. Mine were.
HELLO I AM wondering do you know if there is a way to change the default time from 4 seconds when importing pics on timeline???? I have a hell of a lot of pics im trying to edit but when I import them all on my timeline I have to tediously go thru each picture and adjust the time from 4 seconds to my desired 0.3 seconds... This seems like an easy thing that iMovie doesn't cover or give guidance I haven't been ABLE TO find an answer anywhere but please if you or anybody knows how to fix this issue please comment.. thanks
@@jamesforemangraffitipodcas7892 I just figured it out a few days ago actually is super easy lol.. on the top bar, click iMovie, go to preferences, then you’ll photo duration.. there ya go
Is it possible to click on PHOTOS and drag an entire folder into the media storage area? I seem to only be able to drag photos into the timeline, not the media storage area.
I scanned 4 photos per page and then cropped them to individual photos in my album . When I drag the individual images to the iMovie project it reverts to the original 4 photos scanned on the page before I cropped them. Can you help?
Great tutorial, thank you. Do you have any tips on how to maintain the quality of an image once you've imported it to iMovie? I've found that super sharp pdf's & jpeg's are becoming blurry / granular once imported, especially when it comes to an image that contains text. Many thanks
A) make sure it’s a hi res image. At least 1900 pixels wide. B) it may actually look fine once you export it. Sometimes things look a bit worse in editing, and you can see the ACTUAL quality in the final export.
Very helpful but you don't say how you can get an image to remain static. I've made an audio track with one image covering the whole track, like an LP cover. However, the image floats up and down and doesn't remain stable. How can I change that so that the image remains static? Thanks
When I import a image onto imovie and then another image the images dont show at all and I want the images to go like a one image one by one but it isn't working (I use IMOVIE 11)
I have spent a lot of time putting a 600 photo slideshow together in IPHOTO. NOW, I want to import that in to IMOVIE so I have more flexibility. I need the ORDER of these photos to remain as they are in my IPHOTO project, but when I import into IMOVIE, the photos change order. HELP!
Hoping someone can help. After inserting a normal, horizontal image into iMovie, there seems to be no way to show the image without it being letterboxed/black stripes down the side. When selecting the photo and choosing "Fit" - it does show the whole image but does not fit it to the full screen and still has black bars down the side. How on earth can this be achieved?
Absolutely Amazing Nate! Clear, concise... straight to the point...Thank you so much for producing this incredible tutorial!
Awesome tutorial! Your work here is really helping me get up to speed with some basic video production capability. Thank you, sir!
Thanks so much. I couldn't figure out how to get my individual photos into iMovie..
Thank you !! Was looking for Picture in Picture!!
Nate, you saved my bacon! Watched dozens of other convoluted instruction; yours was by far the most straightforward and accessible. Thanks so much!
Thanks for that! Happy editing.
This really helped me with a surprise birthday video I was doing. Thank you! :)

Needed to know how to change ALL of the still photos in a movie to the same setting. I assume highlighting them, yes?

Can you import HEIC or NEF Files and then export project?

How do you add a transition in between a “video” clip and a still “image”?

@@TechTeacherNate Thank you sir. The biggest difference in the end was exporting the slides from Powerpoint/Keynote in the TIFF format.
Can you add pictures inside the backgrounds?
I cannot get my image to stay without cutting away. I just want it to show the image. Is there a sitting that I am missing?

3:48 it’s the first method I show. Called cutaway.

So you have to add the 2nd pic first to get picture in picture? I got it. This still works in iMovie 10.1.14 right?
Yes
Can you add a stutter effect to images?

Sorry I might have missed it in the vid, but do you know how to prevent the image from moving?
Crop options, change from Ken Burns to some other method. It is in the vid.
@@TechTeacherNate thanks yeah I noticed when i watched the rest of the video, just jumped the gun on it my bad
Mine says I can’t add a photo because it overlaps an existing audio clip ? Help 😭😭
When i press on the photo it doesn’t show anything
How do I stop iMovie from blowing up the photo when added
Hmm, try the ‘crop to fit’ option I show in the video.
Can you import a screenshot?
From your iPhone?
Yep. Just airdrop it to your computer or email it to yourself. Then take it from your computer and import it into iMovie.
@@TechTeacherNate thank you 🙏🏽
@@TechTeacherNate you just helped me out on my new upload 🔥🙏🏽
