  • Here is a link to the practice I refer to in the video:
    • 6 Healing Sounds Qigon...
    This Bioenergetic Health (Qigong) practice gently opens the lungs and strengthens the immune system using similar principles as acupuncture to open the "Lung Meridian" and thus mobilize the "Wei Qi" (Guardian Energy) of the whole body. In Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoist thought, the Lungs are the commanders of the Wei Qi, and are responsible for moving our Qi from the interior to the surface in order to put up a vigorous defense against pathogens.
    For the curious and/or skeptical, there are several studies showing that Qigong practice helps the body to produce more immune cells, and can even make those cells more potent, among a number of other health benefits:

    Thank you Nick! I appreciate these videos. Just some fun facts for folks, The lymphatic system (helps with immunity) does not have a pump of it's own like our blood does and so daily movement is vital to keep this system running properly in addition to the qi flow. Also regarding the heal movements, there is a muscle that lies deep to the calf (gastroc) muscle called Soleus that is called the '2nd heart' because that muscle when in motion assists the venous return of blood to the upper body.

    • @TheNickLoffree
      @TheNickLoffree  4 роки тому +1

      Ooooh I didn't know about that calf pump... I wonder if that is why the "shaking" is such a common Qigong exercise?
      I tell people constantly about the lymph thing. It so explains part of why we feel like crap when we sit all day!
      Thanks for the great info and support! :)

    Nick, thanks for this wonderful, energising routine. Ever since I came across your first video, I got hooked! :) Having been through cancer recently, Qigong and balancing out mind-body-emotions are all the more important to me. You're a companion n guide in my healing. Also, I'm amazed by the affinities between Qigong and Bioenergetics (which I do with a practitioner), which you touch in some videos. I'd love to hear your insights on this connection and, if possible, sources/books/keys to look after on the matter. Hugs from Barcelona

    • @TheNickLoffree
      @TheNickLoffree  4 роки тому +1

      That's great! I'm glad to hear you are recovered and taking good care of yourself.
      I don't know of the specific system you are referring to. I've heard the term Bioenergy and Bioenergetics thrown around by a lot of people and businesses. I think it is just a "western" way to talk about Qi. Actually my main inspiration was Ray Peat, a biochemist who describes his health philosophy as a "Bioenergetic view of health". Basically, he discovered many of the same principles that the Taoists arrived at but using biochemistry rather than esoteric practices. "Energy Supports Structure" is a motto both systems use.
      Hope all is well with you and you are enjoying the Barcelona summer!
      Nick

    Gm what do u do to get rid of high blood pressure and to tighten yr muscle mass after losing weight

    • @TheNickLoffree
      @TheNickLoffree  4 роки тому +1

      Lowering stress will help lower BP - so any qigong or meditation exercises that you find helpful in lowering stress should help. Also, training your body to breathe nasally rather than through the mouth, even while sleeping, has shown some great benefits for blood pressure, likely at least partly due to nitric oxide production. Check out my interview here to learn all about that: ua-cam.com/video/tA1fcb5FlWc/v-deo.html

    A friendly remark.... you just shouldn't have talked that much. You are repeatedly explaining the obvious. Don't forget that we are watching the video, not listening the radio. You are not only talking a lot and endlessly explaining the obvious, but you are also interrupting the exercise to show something. It disrupts the rhythm, destroys concentration..... Maybe it's just me, but after a while it becomes annoying.....Just watch yourself from 9:15 to 10:30, as an example..... Explain, explain, explain....in the middle of the exercise....the one could lose the will to continue and move on to Kseny, or Don Fiore, or Jeffrey Chand, or ... Otherwise, you are doing a great job, helping a lot of people around the World, particularly in this pandemic times, when the individual could be easily broken.
