- In this video I'm going to show you the process I follow to update the Sonic Pad when a new version comes out.
You may have recently switched on your Sonic Pad and been greeted with a message to say that there is a new update available.
Many are hesitant to update what may be a perfectly functioning device as, let's face it, if it goes wrong, you can't use your 3d printer any more.

Thanks for another best practices video on Sonic pad. I would like to see a tutorial on how to backup (and restore) the database which houses all of my statistics. I lost mine a couple of upgrades back and am still feeling the loss but I did have my printer.cfg backup :-)

Well worth just as good practice to backup your .cfg file as you never know what can go wrong with any linux machine. To date thankfully i have never had the sonicpad loose my setup,
On the Mac... diff is your friend! (Terminal)
Gonna need to update mine soon lol. Questions though what slicer do you use if its not orcaslicer have you tried it and if so can you make a tutorial on how to speed u the prints.
Hopefully this new update solves the constant "cannot parse move" errors and usp port corrupting the usb pen issues the last update caused for a lot of people (myself included).

I have avoided updating the new update because I am a scaredy cat. However, my print stopped with a warning on the chronic pad that webhooks had done something or other. Anyhoo, I bit the bullet and updated the thing and everything went to sh**. Of course, it happened just as an order came in!!! Thanks to your advice I backed up two months ago and swapped all the files out and now my lovely Ender 5 pro is purring like a kitten.
How exactly did you fix the problem? I have a ender 5 plus and after the update I am running into the same exact problem. I have tried to factory reset the sonic pad and reconnect the ender 5 and no matter what I cannot complete a print. Sometimes it has the webhook error 1% into a print and other times it’s 50 to 90% complete .

What do I do if I keep getting this message from my sonic pad on my Ender 3 V2 Neo? Hot nozzle temp fluctuates +10 to -10 degrees when I start printing.
I have a ender 3v1 with a sprite extruder upgrade, I purchased a sonic pad wanting to change the probe location also that x and y offset

I would love it if you can help me. I recently brought a sonic pad and went through all your videos, I have even created my own start code and use the macros. I am currently having an issue where once a print has finished and i clear my build plate, and try to start a new print for some reason my printer does an retraction setting that literally pulls the filament out of the nozzle. I have tried to find an answer else where but i have had no luck. I would really appreciate any help any one can offer.

I have done all the updates pretty quick until 139. Still haven't done that because I see a ton of horror stories on that update

Hi Ricky - I'm about to follow your advice and install the latest firmware update on my Ender3 S1 Pro/Sonic Pad. I can see that a lot of config files have backed themselves up and my config file listing is now quite long. there is also a hand icon indicating "low on disk space". Can I safely delete these files? Notepad++ is indicating that the files are identical.

Microsoft's free editor Visual Studio Code will allow you to compare text files on any platform.
When I attempt to download the firmware update it fails after a few seconds. I have a good network connection (can send print files via Wifi from my computer to the Sonic Pad with no issues). Any ideas on what is causing the firmware update to not download and what I need to do to fix it?
Hello, sonic pad won't print a file with multiple items in it. Also doesn't print freecad files sliced by cura. ender 5 s1 would before adding the sonic pad.
Hello everything is fine? I've been following your videos about the Creality Pad, and I'm having a problem, maybe you can help me. I bought a logitech c270, and connected it to the sonic pad to do timelapses. It worked well for 1 day, but then it started not recording videos anymore, or it only records one frame. When I send it to record, the printer stops for a few seconds and then the recording is interrupted, and it starts printing again, I've tried changing all the options, it didn't help, I've reset the sonic pad and configured everything again and it didn't work, do you have any other suggestions? I have 30 printer cfg files do I still download them all or just the most recent?
Only the printer.cfg you are actually using and works good for you. The others are older autosaved versions
I had updated my sonic pad via wifi and it bricked it. Would get stuck booting
Hi Rick, CAN you please HELP... I downloaded the new clipper firmware and now my prints all STOP at 99% and then give me an OUT OF RANGE ERROR...Please help Thank You in advance
Hi, you need to edit your end G code in your slicer. There will be an instruction there that is telling the printer to move to a position that is beyond it's limits.

There is a risk doing this. The old backuped printer.cfg files might be missing some new important data thats in the new printer.cfg files
anyone know how to fix a screen that out of the box doesn't allow input properly? It's like part of the touchscreen is none responsive.
