All said and done, which one of these would you put your money on?
I have already put it on Hycross even before seeing the video 😃
Safari - It is a tank at this price.
Why was the scorpioN missed, i was expecting it sirish
The segment King Innova
Being a proud owner of all generations of Innova, the Hycross is the next choice.
@@Krishna_JG You mean HARRIER PRO MAX?

The OG!
Same here . Planning to get the zxo though. ❤

Scorpio N shoudl have been taken too! On a cheaper side, XL6/ertiga could also have been taken in my POV. A great 1 hr vid! Watched it straight and it was a delight to watch!
That changes a lot of stuff, but thanks for the suggestion!
No man bcus scorpio, meridian, gloster, fortuner is another segment....ertiga is just a cheap people mover but ur suggession xl6 is ok.but new xl6 replacement is comming based on vitara at 18 lkh segment so now xl6 wont make sense
Ertiga is crap when it comes to comfort

The way Shirish sir present his view on any automobile is just above top notch.
Aye, thank you!
One pf the best video of Evo India.. Didn't felled boring fir even a single sec..
Almost an hour video aka documentary.
Well done team.
Hey, thanks Chinmay!
This is 'THE Best Video' on UA-cam for 7-seater buyer target audience. Exceptional presentation, everything is on point. Thanks a lot. Probably first time I felt that a 1-hour is not too long. I can imagine the original video footage would've been at least 10-11 hours, kudos to the editor too :)
Every time I hear Shirish speaking, it’s a joy! It’s like a song sung blue! Another amazing content, and it’s great to see that the Mahindras remain unbeatable
Haha! So true!
Even if tata gives 50 percent discount I will not get fooled by it and that is their poor service engineers and shitty service
great video by Evo india just loved it , I would totally agree with the verdict made by sirish sir , if choosing between the carens and alcazar carens would be a better pick and between the 700 and the safari it depends upon the whether you need more features or better engines and comfort and the hycross in the Vx (o) variant is the best buy for those looking for a proper 8 seater .
You've summed it up!
Don't know about the present day cars. But the OG Innova is in a different league. My father bought it in 2011, uses it daily and has an odometer reading of 3.25 lakhs.
Still no body rattles, no engine issues. Even now use it for long road trips without any issue, and might be controversial with the craze for features, it has the necessary features needed.
Really a great product, something my father is still not willing to part.
True❤
We also bought in 2011😍
Till now we don't want any other cars other than innova😊
After watching this video I am happy and convinced on the decision I made to buy Kia carens. For me comfort and mileage were my first priority and I can confirm that Kia carens satisfied me in both these aspects. I switched from Skoda to Kia last year and I am completely happy for choosing Kia Carens.
Below are some of the benefits/advantages I have experienced from Kia Carens in my last 1 year usage. I have drove exactly 25,000 km in 1 year 2 months.
1. Good space. Easily can accommodate 5 adults and 3 kids
2. Very comfortable ride
3. Excellence mileage. I get 16 in the city and more than 20 on highways
4. Very good AC
5. Good after sales service. 100x better compared to Skoda
6. Good boot space compared to other 7 seaters
7. Good headlights. Very powerful and definitely better than my previous car
8. Good brakes. Had experienced few times.
9. Parking assistance with sensors.
10. Sunroof which my kid enjoys the most
11. Cruise control which is extremely useful on highways
12. Decent music system. Initially not very impressed but now adopted to it and enjoying
13. Better ingress and egress
14. Ventilated seat which is really useful in this hot summer
15. One of the best diesel engines in the market now. Same smoothness as petrol engine.Haven’t experienced any difficulties with full load. Have done long drives on hills with 6 adults, 2 kids and full luggage for 5 days vacation. It was very comfortable and never faced any issues in terms of power.
Downside.
1. Bad suspension.
2. Body roll
3. Not very useful wireless charging
4. No wireless carplay or Android auto
5. Not impressive build quality. Even my 6 yr old kid is able to open the door easily whereas in my skoda even adults used to struggle to open as it was too heavy
6. No 360 degree camera
Wow! Thanks for sharing such an indepth experience. We hope this helps others too!
Is it diesel only diesel can give that much milage

Brilliant comparison but you should have included Hector Plus. I do have the Alcazar 2.0 petrol auto though not meant for enthusiastic people it does it’s job. I do agree with squeaky noises here and there but features are on par and is comfortable for city rides.
For reliability and long term - Innova
For VFM - Carens
For sheer power - XUV700
For presence - Safari

Aye, welcome onboard. Glad to have you here.
XUV700 IRVM,AMBIENT LIGHTINGS,SEAT VENTILATION only things i see missing out those would have made xuv700 best in the segment

When it’s come to driving experience and fun to drive suv. No one can beat XUV 700, it’s a king on highways.
Yes, engine performance I did enjoy, but the deal breaker was that steering, it is so light on the highways that I cannot fathom.
I used to own elite i20 and that Car had the same problem not that I'm comparing i20 to XUV700 😅 not a match but the problems with the steering is the same, too light.
But then I test drove Safari and the problems of safari people have was an advantage to me, I like heavy steering, just a personal thing. And I did not find constant adjustment part applied to the test car I drove.
The test car I drove, was absolutely planted and did not need a single input to steering once it was in the lanes, I just used two fingers to keep steering straight and that was it no further input required.
In fact, I think the car they got might've had some problem because the car I test drove didn't have any of the issues aforementioned.
Call the Safari was cheaper, put out more mileage compare diesel to diesel and suspensions our hands down the best on tata (low speed stiffness is a compromise to high speed stability)
XUV N SAFARI ARE HEAD TURNER FOR SURE!! great video, very detailed analysis, must needed comparison
Excellent comparison. I think Kia has made the Carens an excellent car. Value for money, loaded with features and spacious. Hycross is desirable but way too expensive. Might get a Carnival at Hycross price
The Carnival is currently not on sale, and the new one could be more expensive.
Why MG HECTOR PLUS IS NOT COVERED HERE ?
Sirish is very energetic and enthusiastic person 👏👏 loved his presentation
Would love to see a review on the Carens IMT diesel
I've been a fan of Sirish since Overdrive days
We're glad to hear that Sahil!
Background- own a hycross and had booked (now cancelled) XUV700 as well
My $ 0.02:
1. XUV700- while diesel is the most pragmatic option, but with an impeding migration towards cleaner fuel, seems a risky proposition- petrol while a hoot to drive is definitely not pocket friendly given the single digit mileage. Plus, still a bit hesitant in putting 30 lacs on a mahindra. Last, but not the least, space is still on the lower side especially in the boot given that it’s a 7 seater
Safari- fit and finish issues, no petrol and cumbersome to drive
Hycross- compromise on finish, quality of plastics for sure- but in return what we get is fantastic and usable space, quiet cabin, better fuel economy, rock solid Toyota reliability and a peaceful 15 years stint with no prospective emission related issues- and that’s what TODAY’s UPPER MIDDLE CLASS WANTS! hence chose the hycross and loving every bit of it!
All round Practicality triumphs drivability for a 40 year old me 😄
Haha! In the end, the best car is the one that suits you.
Heycross is not that great I would go for crysta as it is punchier
Is ur hycross a hybrid engine or petrol and if hybrid whats the actuall milage?
trust me XUV 700 diesel too is a hoot to drive with greate efficiency
I don't think a hycross can do 2 l lk kms without its battery replacement
Safari looks beautiful and symmetric among them and also has superb road presence (looks like an Anaconda coming on us fro front).
It's the overall more practical car.
Xuv 700 has more or less the same road presence and better engine and power delivery with comfort and handling. How does that sum up ur theory on safari🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡
remember safari doesnt have adaptive cruise control or lane keep assist
@@thewok5497 Best in segment road presence is of the Mahindra Scorpio-N

8) Kia Seltos
9) Mahindra XUV300

XUV 700 it is for me...
That's cz of the features and apoeal it price at a sweet piece. It actually introduced ADAS in the mainstream market and beats competition in its segment
Awesome vlog. But pls review all of this again with all 6 seats loaded. Dynamics of car with full load is important.... How the rear overhanged ride with full load and so on....
Thanks for the suggestion.
Great work shirish! One can actually test drive the vehicle watching the screen and shirish explaining!🍻
I put my money on safari!
Really well made comparison 👍
Awesome please do hycross and carnival comparo also
Noted!
Yesterday I have seen Innova hycross. Have fortuner like road presence. Massive car
Service and maintenance costs should also be added to the on road price and then the overall running costs be calculated to come to the actual figure of maintenance.
Resale value over the same period and that will determine which is the best vehicle overall.
This is what high effort content looks like. Excellent 🎉
I like the way he talks about comfort, good driving in Toyota and features features design in tata.
That ting sound every few seconds making me check my notifications.
Excellent video team evo.
Glad you enjoyed it
XUV and Safari are all good but for 5lac cheap i think Alcazar is extremely under rated. It is the smoothest and nice balance of suspension over indian everyday roads. The diesel engine is well extremely smooth and brisk, it cruzes happily and it does not compramise on space. Safari and xuv are all macho but practically Alcazar is much sorted, economical and practicle!
What a mega comparison ! A Hour long video unexpexted.
We hope you loved this indepth comparision!
If possible please do a road test of Mahindra bolero neo. Also in the gone and not forgotten please do a video on indica vista. We have three vehicles in our family: Mahindra bolero neo, Tata Altroz and indica vista. Thank you Sirish sir.
Hey, thank you for the suggest!
A 7 seater should be able to accommodate 7 people comfortably. XUV700, Safari and Alcazar have cramped 3rd rows in terms of leg room and thigh support. Hycross has enough leg room in the 3rd-row but thigh support is less. Thigh support in the 3rd row is best in the Carens and its 3rd row leg room is adequate too. As an affordable, proper 7-seater for adults, Carens wins the competition.
Why isn’t the Jeep Meridian included in this comparison or the MG Hector Plus? Could even have included the Maruti Suzuki XL6 as well. Nevertheless a nice comparison.
Excellent review
Why is the jeep meridian or the Toyota fortuner not included ?
Everyone has their own taste ... depends on what you are looking for. After i drove XUV700 I CHOSE IT because the dieawl 2.2 engine is peppy, very easy to drive, had. Loads of features. First and second row is very spacious. 3rd row for kids only. I have driven 10k now and driven in city and highways. Absolutely great machine.
Its a very decent product by an Indian car maker. Diesel engine is very smooth. I get 10 to 11 in city and around 13 to 16 in highway depending on how i drive.
I haven't faced any issues in the car. I have done 2nd service and i do it in ampl Guindy Chennai. Customer service is also good.
Only issue i have is did not get the 2nd key yet.
Mostly positive experience with XUV 700 and i love it.
Innova Hycross Looks Cool And Offer Too Many Features Which Are Actually Quiet Useful But Still Cant Compete With Innova Crysta In Terms Of Practicality. The Comfort In Crysta Is Good. And The Only 7 Seater Which Can Accommodate 7 People Comfortably(3rd Row Is Really Comfortable Whether Its About Legroom, Headroom or Under-tight Support).
Ventilated seats on 2nd row in safari is awesome. 😮
try meridian fortuner kodiaq tiguan mg gloster plz plz
every car is good but carens is slightly affordable too. Gone are the days when Innova was the king of its segment. carens became the first 7 seater to displace Innova. now each mpv has turned into SUVish MPV, offering space like MPV and high ground clearance and seating like SUV.
Affordability is definitely one of Carens' USP.
But crysta is still a typical mpv
No car can beat the innova in 7 seater category. It's the undisputed king.
7:17 Headline feature of ADAS systems is not Forward Collision Warning, it is Autonomous Emergency Braking. Brush up on your ADAS fundas..
Did anyone noticed the electrical glitch in xuv700 at 36:49 at the middle row postioned lamp above the door ?
This would have been a super perfect video if Scorpio N was also included in the comparison..as practically people are going for it after checking out these options..
That do you think makes the Scorpio N a better pick over these?

Excellent comparison, worth spending 1 Hour.
Carens if most selling one currently selling 6000-7000 in numbers , it is affordable and spacious and offers practical features...
Yep, some of the reasons why it's a great buy!
Alcazar is castle on roads so it not a SUV nor MPV.Just kidding.
I own one and its good ,good handling , mileage, drivability
Tested with lot of luggage as well as full house + luggage never felt underpowered.
And my next option would be Hycross with a better interior.
Why not include compare Scorpio N in this. May Scorpio N petrol vs Toyota HyInova compare no one done yet...please think on it
No one has the road presence like Xuv and safari
True that
Even a tractor has a road presence and these two cars are just bloated hatchbacks with low quality assembled spare parts like Fiat engine & Hyundai gearbox. Toyota is way ahead of game.

Actually i think the previous Innova was more of a suv despite the design because it was body on frame and RWD. The modern one is just a lifted station wagon.
A Lifted station wagon or an MPV?
Though, Toyota calls it an SUV.
Beautiful, well thought out comparison. However, SCORPIO N should have been included which would have given this collation an altogether different dimension.
Maybe we can do something about that later.
They had done it with its competors fortuner endeavor...now nedd gloster and meridian added
Alcazar most VFM and best SUV in terms of design and interiors
One advantage of Safari hydraulic steering is that it won't break on bad roads like those electric powered steerings.
Nothing breaks so easily these days if looked after well. Gone are the days when things used to be fragile.
thanks for explanation evo
Although my picks will be the Innova Hycross, Safari and the XUV700

why didn't you include scorpio n ?
The Scorpio-N sits in a slightly different segment! Its a proper body-on-frame SUV with 4WD and that isn't something which any of these cars have!
The trolley bag was kept vertically on the Safari and horizontally on the XUV.
Took test drive of Safari, XUV and Hycross, then went to Carens, not for pricing, but XUV & safari no boot space, and pretty hard to drive in city like Bengaluru, Hycross definitely a big car but it's a big headache to park, then finally Carens, boot space good, easy to drive, easy to maneuver in tight traffic situation and easy to turn on unplanned Bengaluru U turns. Bought Petrol DCT Prestige plus
Hope your running is low cause bad fuel efficiency
hector + ?
Many may come and go but no one can beat king ertiga in this segment spacious ,practicality ,refined engine
