Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid vs Hycross Petrol vs ?!?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 кві 2023
- The Toyota Innova Hycross marks a big change for the Innova name, switching away from the body-on-frame, rear-wheel drive and diesel-powered formula that’s driven the brand for over a decade. Our first drive experience with the MPV was rather brief and involved only the hybrid, so we picked up the petrol CVT as well, fueled both cars up and drove them up from Bengaluru to Pune (with a not so little detour along the way). The challenge? See how far the cars can go before running out of fuel.

Really cool review. Range of hybrid looks impressive at first. Then I did a quick math. It saves roughly 2 Rs per km. Difference between a high end Hycross Petrol and low end Hycross Hybrid is about 5.6 lakhs. So if you really need to have saved at least 1Rs from this deal, you'll have to drive like 2.8 lakhs km. I'd rather put my 5.6 lakhs in a savings account with 4 interest rate. Gives me 207 litres of fuel per year calculated at 108 rs per litre. That makes about 2900km with mileage you gave. Even more with better rates. 😅
Rightly said 👌👌👌
Lovely cal bro
Me too have the same view, even i think the same. I won't be able to churn out even a difference of 2.5lcas in 5years if my average driving is 24k km per year !
Well wld buy gx and spend another 1lac on upgradations 😊
What Maths😅😅😅 you need mentally peace/ Freedom while driving so Hybrid is. These maths never churned out. As old as your car goes mileage goes down. I myself have Strong Hybrid in highways it gives me mileage of 50 with ac on. I remember that add Petrol khatam hi nahi hota
@@ak77z 50 kmpl? At what speeds?
Instead of fortuner should have been taken Innova crysta Diesel that would have been much more sense ...than Crysta would have been much cheaper in running cost beating so called Strong Hybrid
I agree.
Hardly. It returns 12kmpl. Diesel is almost as expensive as petrol now. And the car is scrapped much sooner
@@97priyam what it returns is depend on driving style of person who drives "12" is not everyone's figure...It's upon zigwheels to tell approximately it returns and, still running cost is concern in long term it is still Diesel which is better also Scrap is only in some parts not in entire India. here the channel is for global or rather all India so the people living will decide whether to buy or not...
I think diesel will have high cost due to DEP and high maintenance. Hybrid has advantage of low maintenance petrol engine + great mileage(better than diesel engine) Hycross Hybrid is best car out there to buy currently( low engine noise. Smooth ride. High mileage) make it best for long drives and city
crysta 2.4 easily get 16 to 17 on highways at highway speeds
You both make for such BRILLIANT auto-reviewers!
Kudos to the entire team for keeping the entire review so engaging...
You guys are amazing... Love your comparison, reviews etc.
Kindly do it for Hyryder also. I've booked one already but the waiting period is just unimaginable....
Hey do check this out: ua-cam.com/video/zl70am-KSUY/v-deo.html
Mighty impressed with the FE of regular petrol. 13.87 is damm good for a car of this size. To put things in perspective, I get similar numbers with my Grand i10.
Yep, it’s actually reasonably efficient
I got lesser numbers in my i20 Elite 😅
@@karanhemani1468 my toyota Corolla altis petrol 1.8 liter engine gives 18kmpl mileage 🔥toyota 🔥
Check 1:06 speed of the care reads at 40kmph does @sachin jain have you noticed it😅
My friends Crysta Petrol lands him a mileage of only 8
Including crysta diesel in this test would be a cherry on the cake
Lot of effort goes into making such videos. Great job kudos to the zigwheels team👍🏼
Yessir, it’s quite taxing🥵appreciate your support !!
Nail-biting stuff guys, enjoyed it thoroughly!
Great video guys!!! I am genuinely surprised for the fortuner giving 13kmpl, that car is much bigger
Kudos to all you guys ! This video is what is needed in this day and age specially for people who’s looking for a car in 40lack range.
Thanks Tharun! 🙏
Exactly it's way tooo Small doesn't compliment it's size
One thing I could understand from this review is to buy the GX petrol variant is good because there is a difference of 8 lakhs in on road price between GX petrol variant and VX hybrid variant , and 14 lakhs difference of high end model (zx) .
There is very little changes in the interior and exterior between the GX Petrol and the VX Hybrid.
The GX petrol variant costs Rs 714,285 to run 1 lakh km at an average of petrol price Rs 100 per liter, while the VX hybrid model costs Rs 526,315 to run 1 lakh km and the difference is Rs 187,969 , If the difference of 8 lakhs is to be accounted for, the vehicle must be driven for more than 4 lakh kilometers and
The Average After 3 lakhs km the battery will have to be changed and for that you will have to pay lakhs .
Conclusion ; petrol variant is best for family use
Awesome.. your last video on Honda City hybrid vs Honda City diesel manual vs virtus gt .. made me to buy my car tht is virtus gt. Unbelievable video and made a good choice too . Thank u team. .. looking forward to see more videos like these . ❤
Beautifully done guys. Superb!!! Loved it.
Thanks a ton, Alok 🙏
Great Comparison of FE. Nice Video. All the Best for Future Videos. Long Drive Video on Innova Hycross was much awaited and you guys have made a perfect one. From all aspects I feel, VX Variant is value for money!
Glad you liked it!
This is what I was waiting for😍
U guys did a great work and made my day.
I looked hybrid VX now i got the full satisfaction as thr was no proved video like how you guys made it.
Hats off to you guys for the good work keep it up.👍

I am getting over 19.5kmpl constantly with my VX variant. I have done three fuel tank mileage test. And I am running on normal mode. This consist of both city and highway drive. 😊
Very nice video 👌🏻

Another great Drive to death episode. Great Job Team Zigwheels , The ? was a good surprise and an indirect range comparison of all 3 Toyotas.14kmpl is great even with light load for the NA Innova petrol . want a Drive to death episode of Toyota Camry .
Thanks Mangesh!
Another excellent video by ZigWheels! You guys rock!!
Thanks team ZigWheels for this 👍🏻 Legitimate Review and comparison, it really helps buyers to concentrate on few aspects and also the real time drive experience
A big❤ on covering a distance of 1000 plus KM for a review shoot😅( considering reaching Pune), and showing the genuine performance of all three big cars, I would say, you three and your team are amazing people. All the best Zig Wheels.
Thank you so much 😊
Really what an great comparison.!!
All three beast together to see is amazing. 😍
God job guys.

Nice video..i was bit confused to upgrade my innova crysta diesel into innova hycross hybrid..now i got more clarity. Thanks guys 👍

Would love to see a Top gear style roadtrip in India from the brilliant zigwheels team. that's the first thought came to my mind after watching this video. 😀😀

Kudos to the effort you have ppl have put to present this sort of video
Guys
This is yours one of the best comparisons
Great team works 👍🏻

Man, I don’t understand how could the manufacturer accept the tyre size for this car. You look from 3/4s and the tyres almost disappear inside the fender!! :(
😅
I guess it's designed for more comfort....like less contact surface area of tyres...biggger body better shock absorbtion...
@@CruxycreamWhy do executive sedans not use miniscule tires then if they're better for comfort?

Would be interested to know what drive mode was used by the HYCross Hybrid in the this experiment. (Eco/Normal/Power) or a combination of the 3. If so in any particular ratio?
Really commendable..it’s innova-tive style to describe everything about innova..appreciate it..
Our favorite Car guys are back and How! Kudos to you as always. Totally loved it.
This the video i never skipped a part. Well done zig wheel
Awesome, thank you!
Such a detailed content than any other contents on youtube.
Nice and griping video. I have narrowed down to hybrid hycorsss. Which variant do u recommend( and value for money being top criterion) without compromising the essentials
If petrol gx vs hybrid gx exists.... Right now price difference is 4lakhs extra for hybrid... According to this test, we have to drive 2 lakh kilometers to justify premium for hybrid..... Looks like petrol gx is good value for money, for people who don't drive more than a 1000kms per month like me...nice video... Great work
Thank you for watching!
Wrong calculations.
GX OTR 22.77L
VX OTR 29.5L
difference 6.5 lakhs upfront
Mileage
Gx 10 kmpl minimum
Vx 19 kmpl minimum
(Note : i take minimum mileage because gx ne 13.5 kmpl mileage diya hai video mai but hamesha yehi nhi hoga city mai kam bhi hoga toh 10 kmpl man lete hai kam se kam)
Hence to cover 6.5L upfront cost u need to use hybrod vehicle for 1,25,000 kms atleast.
Also innova hycross hybrid battery cost 2.5L right now (not in india but outside india coverted into INR) Although it has 8 years warranty.
Hence gx is value for money.
@@Gaurav-tz1bp yes brother i know...m here telling i want a gx hybrid...which is not on offer now...if gx hybrid exists it ll be 4lakhs extra to gx petrol... obviously Toyota now offers only vx hybrid with more features
Amazing job guys to put this in perspective, can we look at may be a aged discontinued xuv 500's and the Xuv 700 and Safari's and the Scorpio family join the pack to make it more analytical from the segment proposition.. ❤️
Amazing comparison. Thumbs up to Team ZigWheels
🙏🙏
Thanks for your information . I appreciate your hard work .
Thanks for the amazing review!
Thanks Irfan!
The fortuner looks bloody good in between the innovas ❤
have never seen a comparison like this.... amazing
Glad you liked it 🙏
Would like you to do a video on the choice to make now between a petrol hybrid/petrol/diesel considering the capital cost including interest and the running costs and the resale value especially of the diesel considering its possible ban.
Lovely! Seemed like a lot of fun!
Sirr!! Yes it was 😁
Brilliant camparison! Loved it
Superb comparison! The number crunching at the end was great.
Just one more thing you could've added - break even point. How many kilometres you need to drive the hybrid to cover the extra money that you pay for the hybrid variant.
The breakeven point would be far lower if you discount the 5-6 lakh worth of additional features that the ZX (O) has over the GX.
But like you rightly pointed out, a Hybrid car at current price points will not make sense in the overall cost of ownership scheme of things.
If Toyota had the VX/ZX spec for the non-hybrid, that’d be very interesting!
A lot of people buy diesel over petrol or electric over ICE or CNG over petrol or hybrid over petrol - just because they're cheaper to run, without doing this break even point calculation. And most people don't even use the car till break even point, which is mostly a few lakh kilometres.
Thanks for the info guys , really helpful 👍 🎉
Glad you liked it🙏
Wow... beautifully explained with proper data...kudos.
🙏🙏
Great review once again. Next set of vehicle.
1. Tucson, Tiguan, Jeep Compass.
2. Breeza, Nexon, Kiger, Magnite, Venue, Sonet. (Considering you have kartikeya, ameya and Nabil)
Thanks
Im impressed in your dedication just to give us actual data. Amazing content. So i just sibscribed and will watch more on you channel. One question please, how does the Innova Hybrid feel going uphill? And when fully loaded?
Thank you! The Hycross Hybrid has enough punch for driving uphill with a full load, especially because of the electric assist. It will get vocal especially on sharp hill overtakes but the performance is there
Great Comparison.. enjoyed this!!
Thank you 🙏
Kudos to the whole team for the brilliant display of the efficiency for all these cars. I am already owner of hycross Gx and getting the same efficiency and satisfied with my decision for the price point at which the car is for my family requirement
Thanks Ashish, appreciate you sharing your experience as an owner🙏
How did you get the car? 6 months & Still waiting.
@@arjunram8 I had booked the car much early before the launch
Lovely guys great work... I would like to see more about hybrid cars
Thank you 🙏
This is very interesting. In the Honda city hybrid comparison test, the diesel still came out on top. But here in the heavy SUV/MPV segment where it actually makes sense for a diesel powertrain, the petrol hybrid came out on top. The diesel even had 28L extra capacity and it still gave less fuel efficiency, more cost/km, & it'll only give an extra 68km of range compared with the hybrid. That is impressive. Wondering how much more weight the fortuner carries, being bigger and with a ladder frame chassis. Maybe that played some role.
*More cost/km.
But yeah, I agree
Higher engine displacement of Fortuner ( 2.8 ltr ) vs Innova Hycross should have been taken into account too.
Nice Video Guys ! Loved it ..
Thanks Siddharth!
No surprising results in this test, except the Goa detour of course 😂
Even with the higher investment, given how the fuel prices fluctuate (mostly upwards), the Hybrid, if driven more, may not be able recover the cost difference but could potentially make that extra investment feel worth it. But then with the hybrid and electrics, the question remains about the battery. Given the smaller size battery of a hybrid, it goes through far more charge cycles than its electric counterpart. As we know the efficiency of the hybrid is largely based on the torque/power assist the battery/motor provides, now, how long do you think it will be before a hybrid user starts seeing difference in efficiency figures? Will it be negligible? If not, how much will the replacement cost? Wont that effect the second hand value of the product?
It was nice to hear Mr. Kamath speak Konkani, though Mr. Shenoy didn't extend the same courtesy 😛
While Fortuner dwarfs everything on road, Mr. Kamath dwarfs even the Fortuner😅
Thanks guys for this lovely video on hycross petrol & hybrid but hycross hybrid is selling like a hot cake since Toyota has just opened up the bookings for VX o hybrid
Excellent effort ...keep it up, pls clarify the difference in fuel efficiency of hybrid vs non hybrid in city....on highway its 2rs/l difference but wat about city... this difference shud increase?
Hey, how about a running cost vs cost price break-even comparison?
The Rs / KM was might useful, but Fortuner and Hybrid are tens of lakhs more expensive than non-hybrid Hycross and each other.
I know Fortuner is apples to oranges in the mix, but just to indulge a buyer, could you add a break even km too considering on-road prices?
I always wanted someone to do these Innova comparison video n guess what ur team didn't disappoint 🤘🙌👏
🤘🤘
Sir ags car main kya clutch plate brake se connected hoti hai and har baar brake ke use per clutch plate use hoti jisse woh manual ke mukable jaldi wear out ho jati hai?

Hey team your effort was super.....fortuner and hycross petrol is so good if you don't have to travel so much...and resale value of hybrid will be very leads compare to these two because that battery valid period...
Loved the content, very helpful, wish to see more such comparison of Petrol Vs Diesel Vs Hybrid. 😊

Excellent work brothers. 👍👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
This is what i was looking for, Now i can close down my choice easily. Instead of Hybrid , petrol model is the best if we look at difference of 10 Lakhs in price.
Wow this was exciting ❤ properly evaluated! Will the mileage increase after 2nd or 3rd service ? Or this is the final one ?
Thanks man! There can be changes post service but the difference will be marginal
@@zigwheels cool... I have personally test driven the new Hycross Hybrid.. it doesn't feel like driving a big SUV or MPV. But only demerit that u too pointed was loud noise if revv hard ! Surprised to see petrol engine this loud 📢
Kudos to ZIG WHEELS for this test. For someone who is considering the HYCROSS this test provides a meaningful insight. However a direct comparison with the latest gen INNOVA CRYSTA instead of the FORTUNER would have been the icing on the cake. Thanks.
big question!
battery replacement duration and cost??
Wow!! What a comparison! Hats off to Zig Wheels ! I personally own Hycross Hybrid and one literally needs to go to petrol pumps rarely on this car ! My car delivers a mileage of 19- 23 kmpl and the ride/seats are damn comfortable during long journeys!!
Awesome!
Crazy comparison
Excellent and very informative video 👏

This topic not necessary has to be boring. Well done guys!
Thanks Ashwin! Glad you liked it
Only reason for someone not to go for GX is , it has only 2 airbags… otherwise its definitely a winner in all respects
Now six airbags
Being a GSB (konkani) I loved the way you spoke in Konkani 8:41
That's an amazinggg revieww!
So looking at the Running and Ownership Cost its better to buy HYCROSS GX (Over Fortuner, Hybrid Hycross)
Can we get the other interior and features of VX Hybrid (except Sunroof) from TOYOTA Dealership into GX variant by paying the Addl cost like accessories ?
maza aa gaya bhai.. badhiya content
I drive an Ignis, that returns me 19-ish kmpl....that gigantic minibus of a car returning the same fuel economy as that of a compact hatchback...MADNESS!

Impressive. Is it possible to a cost vs km payback to decide on each vehicle?
What a beautiful information sir thank you so much
Very nice and practical way of comparing
Thank you 🙏
659 km for a full tank 2.0 engine. That range is awesome for a 2.0 gas engine. My 2013 Innova 2.0 Gas 4 speed AT only have 380-390km range on a full tank.
Yep, this is a massive improvement vs the 2.7 petrol as well
Kudos very nice comparison 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏻
Thanks again 😁
Innova Hybrid is coming out in the Philippines starting next week.
We will definitely check this out to possibly replace our thirsty Toyota Camry 2.5G
I own a harrier automatic and I am very happy. (3 years, 40000 kms)
I was bitten by the hybrid and ADAS bug, visited the showroom to see if I can get the hybrid.
Boy, the moment I sat in the driver seat, I headed back to the door.
The vehicle is cramped and I started feeling claustrophobic.
Will keep my Harrier for some more time.
Awesome data and analysis, mind blowing 🤯
It will sure help a lot of buyer out there including me.
Throughout the video it felt like I am on the road trip with you guyzzz. But yes your job looks amazing, wish I could be a part of what you guyz do.

the most awaited comparison a petrol, petrol hybrid and the diesel .......candid and fun .....nice fuel economy test..👍...... i did not get this towards the end he said in the Fortuner 28 extra liters of diesel will give you only 68 extra kilometers what was that........
The total tank range on a Fortuner diesel is 1040km with a 80 litre tank.
The total tank range on a Innova HyCross Hybrid is 972km on a 52 litre tank.
Fuel advantage Fortuner has: 80-52= 28 litres
Tank Range advantage Fortuner has:
1040-972= 68km
Hence the statement.
@@zigwheels thanks for the clarity.... 👍
Good info, should have price to FE ratio
