      This was great, I been tryin to find out about "horse racing tip" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Honackson Meyrayden Idea - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my friend got great results with it.

    Wow,NHS did great for first time hacking on his own, very relaxed, taking his cues from you. Well done both of you!

    Good video and great little pony - could have demonstrated the importance of fluorescents though for both horse and rider especially with a green horse.

    Any tips for when your horse just stops and refuses to move on a hack (pretty sure it’s out of laziness and not fear) ?

    Hi is it true if out riding on a street a foot path or have to get off road for a car say on to someone drive way and horse has a poo as long as you wave your nose if people are around you can leave it ?????

    My horse is a little bit nappy out hacking on his own and will stop and start walking backwards or spin around if he sees something he doesn't like. He is not inexperienced or young, he used to hack alone with an 8 year old boy all the time and was super quiet, but since I've gotten him he is a bit nervous and lacks confidence going out without another horse, or if he is in the leader position. Is there anything I can do to improve his confidence to hack out alone easily, and mine?

    • @MegJones7
      @MegJones7 3 роки тому +2

      It sounds like you need to act like that 8 year old boy who probably had lots of confidence. You are in charge - act like it. Think yourself and your horse past objects. When I was training I had a nice thick wide crop (not thin and stingy) that I could tap tap tap on the tail to encourage them past things. Also with nappy horses I would take a treat and give it one third of the way around the ride. Don’t give it when you are ready to return home because then they will anticipate turning for home. Never feed a treat when you get home. This encourages nappiness. You could also establish who is in charge by lunging before you go. You need to be good at lunging, know how hard it is for the horse, and make the session short and fun with lots of stops and starts that you initiate. Good luck

    I wish my hacks were as tranquil and relaxed. When my horse comes across a tractor (and there is always a tractor!), she spins round several times and jumps sideways onto the pavement leaving me to profoundly apologise to all the startled and angry looking pedestrians as I battle to get her back on the road. I don’t know why I carry on riding.

    You weren't going alone, in some scenes you can hear the other rider with the camera

      I’m not sure what your hearing but Hewie was out on his own. My partner Jeremy filmed for us on his bike.

      @@Emmassingale We have more problems with mtb bikes than hacking alone - mainly because of the approach fear - the (highland) ponies can't see them coming and mtb's suddenly appear coming very fast from nowhere. 1 deer pony who has experience of mtb's up his bum when taking stags off the hill has unfortunately learnt to kick out at them - an idea for next video? I would be very grateful.

      You don't have to pick up horse poo...its not got anything nasty in it like dog poo..it would probably be a bit embarrassing if your horse did it on someone's driveway though lol... .its just grass and hay...that's come from the mounted police too lol🙂
