- Daily Training - In this video I take two of my youngest Connemara's down to the woods to train. The goal is to be able to roman ride on them. In the video I show the process I would go through to teach them how to work towards achieving our goal.

I find it amazing to see how their demeanour changes once you're standing up. They clearly know that things are now serious and that it's their job to keep you safe. So lovely when you also see how much freedom you give them to not just be horses but their individual selves.

Yes I was thinking the exact same. Oh how I miss that sound! Beautiful bridle paths as well, reminds me so much of my youth when I used to help out with the local stable where I was brought up on a small Island in Scotland, I had the privilege of keeping my favourite pony all through the winter months. And yes this brings back so many happy and beautiful memories. Things were different then we didn't have cell phones. I used to ride out alone, and I loved riding bareback. I lived close to the beach, and I often used to ride Rip along the sea front to clean his legs and hooves a little with just his headcollar tied. Then I would take him up to my parents house tie him feed him while I had breakfast, and then I would enjoy spending ages grooming him straight after breakfast, something I absolutely loved to so! I think the whole bonding thing, just the smell of horses, very relaxing listening to them munching on grass hay or whatever. Then I would tack up and go out for a couple of hours usually. Rip was a pony no one else liked or wanted to ride. But I was given him for the winter months, initially much to my dread and dismay, I was inexperienced, and he had a very bad reputation for bucking, rearing, bolting kicking biting-you name it! First time out he bolted, I had decided to take him for a gallop, but found the brakes weren't working! I found myself speeding towards the end of a grass verge towards tarmack that led to a junction onto a fairly busy road! I managed to slow him to a very fast trot and leapt off and stopped him just before disaster would have struck. Again I was new to riding, and had absolutely zero experience. My relationship with Rip however blossomed. He was very forward going-which I like, and yes he could be very naughty, but the more time I spent with him each day, the less naughty he was. I also grew in confidence. He taught me a lot. He was a great pony, a smashing wee jumper. There was never a dull moment. I was in my early teens, today it's my birthday and I am 49 years old! I miss riding, I miss Rip and his funny little antics his moods. I miss thundering along bareback along the sea front or the woods. I am now in a wheelchair because of a neurological illness called M.E. I have been seriously ill with it for 4 years now. Yet previous to this I was checking out riding stables nearest to me, and hoping to get back on a horse again after many years. Sadly that wasn't meant to be. I love these beautiful heartwarming videos. I can so relate to Emma as a person. However I don't have her knowledge or expertise. She is incredible! Full of fun and adventure! I am hoping for an adventure today for my birthday and I haven't yet decided what to do yet. Loving these amazing videos

That was fantastic...the ponies did exceptionally well. I was nervous for you when you stood up on their backs especially in the dark was afraid they would get spooked and you would get hurt!! Did you give the ponies a GREAT BIG treat for a job well done??

I don't know if you can get them in Sweden, but I have only heard amazing things about the barefoot-pads. They are built to properly distribute the rider's weight and the pressure of the girth, as many other models don't distribute that very well and the horses can get sore backs. My friend has been using this for a while now and just loves it, I know others do, too! Don't know if you're still looking, but if you do, there's a tip 😂

Is it an adjustment for your horses to go on the bit? Most of your work with them appears to be reinless. But Comet seemed totally relaxed with a bridle. Just curious 😊

@@geckolia3823 she used a bit (the thing you put in the mouth of a horse) theres a lot of people who are extremely anti-bit because it can harm a horse if its used wrong, but a bitless bridle can also harm a horse. Emma is doing nothing wrong
